Yes Sooth, he did roll a good roll, but if I can transform then I will be able to move faster then the spell can travel, thus having a chance of dodging it.

Ah- sorry about missing that >_>; I haven't done combat yet- so I honestly don't remember the rules very well for it. I'm sure once I've done a couple of battles I'll get the hang of things for sure- but I'm always terrible about remembering things until I actually do them- hence why I have all of the questions for Shin all the time >_>;

But Mariko also has a point in the Transformation thingie. Even if you realized what Jack was doing as he was doing it, it would still take at least 1 second to initiate the transformation in yourself... wouldn't it? >_>; I think I may be thinking a bit too logically for a high fantasy/dystopian future/whatever setting this is... Sorry if I'm seeming antagonistic too- I'm more curious as to understanding how this is playing out and why as opposed to being like "GHAHAHA DIE RUNE, BURN IN HELL AHAHAHAHA!"

That's alright I understand, I am still somewhat don't understand all the aspects. Yes, that brings up another point, when I worked up my counter post I was going on what is on his character bio, not what is on his character's bio thread, on his character bio there is no listed transformation, it is on his character bio thread, which I was under the impression that it isn't usable unless its on your bio.

Hrm... but that wouldn't make much sense then- considering you've still purchased the abilities and whatnot. I mean, I'd be kind of pissed if I paid for my abilities and just didn't get to use them because I didn't change my bio... granted- it doesn't take too long to change, but still.

@Lydeck: You're welcome. It actually didn't take long for me to put them into proper format. Thanks to you and Kitsu for reminding me to propose diverse buildings. I just think it adds more character and depth to the RP when you're doing a RP campaign and you're selecting which critical builds to attack/destroy or defend or when you're building up your village/nation and you're RPing the difficulties/trials of building up your commerce from your first set of shops to growing to have a sustained market and all that. Also, it makes ppl work for having a powerful, wealthy, bustling village/city.

P.S. There will be no love making! :p

Revive would probably come in handy. Unless my gauntlet were seared to my weapon from the heat, I think it's pretty safe to assume I'd lose my grip and fall >_>;

Essentially if it's not perfected, it's going to suck. Roll system is too uncaring for lower levels imo.

That's what I'm getting at.. something that isn't at perfected should not be able to get an Omega.. and something that is mastered or higher should be just that : MASTERED.

Here's the breakdown of how techs are supposed to work according to the site rules : These govern how well your character can perform a technique. Training your techniques make them work better and cost less stamina.

The breakdown page also says :: Without training, you have a high chance of messing up a technique. Therefore, what's the point of training a technique if you can sitll highly botch it even when its mastered. Does this also mean that a perfected tech is capable of getting lost as well?

Jin, I'm doing your experiment for perfected to see if its the same way on that one with mastered at the same time.

and on the perfected.. I got all passing and 2 omegas.

Conclusion from experiment : Mastered is capable of having more omega's, but also of failing 14 times out of 20.

Can't really say your experiment is invalid. All experiments to be valid must have a control subject, as well as be done multiple times to develop an average.Although the roll was done multiple times. It wasn't done enough really or done by enough people. If I did it out of 20 I may have more omegas on perfected than mastered. Its just luck. Only real way we could determine it really is if everyone on the site just did what you did to determine an average. But then that would be pointless. Fact is man. The higher the rate of training you are the less chance you have of bodging the attack up. Mastered is still a level below perfected. The best description I can use would probably be in Judo . A dan grade is described as a master of all the basic techniques , however within the dan grade, the mastery. There is still higher levels. Room for improvement. This. Is perfection.

A master can still make mistakes. Just like a mastered technique can still fail. Its just less likely to than a lower level. As for whether or not a perfected technique can fail. I'm not sure.

From how it sounds you're using the word mastered as if it were perfected. Instead think of mastered as 'not quite perfected.' Also, your stating anything under zeta is a fail which is incorrect. You may want to revisit what is passing and what is failing in terms of tech usage. Of course perfected is the only class where you have a 100% chance of getting it perfect every time.

I look at it like this. Ther are 5 levels of control. I can understand that a mastered will not always get 100% all of the time, but it should at least have a minimum of 50%.
