Now to get onto the topic of Shooters:
-Even MW2 was better than BADtlefield BAD Company Shit (Hehehe. 2. Deuces. Taking a number 2. I'm STILL FUNNY RIGHT?)
-Admittedly it's better than Black Ops, but what isn't?
-You're talking about Quick Scoping. Your view of what's good and what's bad is completely negated.
-If you want good bullet detection go play Homofront. Only twice-ish have I ever done the ritual of "OMG THAT'S CRAP. I was sooooooo around the corner wtf?"
-So this one time I shot somebody in the chest with the (admittedly starting) sniper rifle and it didn't oneshot him. I proceeded to say something along the line of "Damn Lucky Low Bullet Scale Damage." and passed it off.
-So these 99 other times it also happened and I proceeded to become confused. Leading my shots was cool, but what is this terrible sniper damage? Luckily I didn't care because pulling the bolt after each shot felt so sexy I didn't really mind shooting more.
*Disclaimer: This was all when the beta was out, and during the first two-three weeks of the game being out. I don't know how it's changed. It has Bad in its title three times though...

Alrighty, from someone who does video game commentating, let me explain the difference between these games and host based hit detection.

Your point about black ops being the worst game is completely dismissed. Unfortunately, it is the best. The weapons are more balanced and closer to their actual gun (save for the Famas, which is not fully auto, and is a bullpup rifle.). While MW2, WaW, MW, and all other CoD's previously that have online play were good, they only operated between 25 and 30 Frames per second.

Black Ops runs at 45 frames per second at ALL times, except when there is a B52 and Napalm. The frame rate of black ops being higher gives it better hit detection and much smoother game play.

Comparing MW2 to battlefield is a completely folly. Battlefield has expansive maps, a squad based system that requires absolute team work, and a landscape oriented battlefield. Camping is negated, unlike MW2 which thrives on campers and hackers. Oh yea, if you hack on any of EA's games, they ban you on ALL of their games.. so there isnt a single hacker on BFBC. EA came out and said their objective with BF3 is to bury the CoD franchise, and from the looks of it they have a great shot at doing that.

Homefront was a solid game, however, it had many features which the designers said it would have, and completly left out. When gamers bitched, they came back and said "oh..we never said that.." even though it was in their fucking commercials...

oh yea.. one more thing..

MW2.. BARRETT 50 cal... Hitmarkers? I guarantee you there will NEVER be anyoneleft standing when a .50 cal comes within a foot of you.

Conkers Bad Fur day was banned in 11 states for vulgarity before it was released, and is the only game to be banned in 8 European countries as well.

Whoa whoa whoa. I see up there a discussion on various Multiplayer First Person Shooters.

I would like to point out that the best MFPS ever was released in 2007 and just went free-to-play. That's right, I'm talking about VALVe's most excellent Team Fortress 2.

The thing about TF2 is that it's fun, the community doesn't hate everyone else who plays it automatically and it requires teamwork. Unlike, say, any of the Medal Call of Honor Duty games. Or even the Battlefield series (to an extent; they do encourage more teamwork than MCoHD). Also unlike MCoHD, TF2 objective-based matches don't get treated as TDM matches.

The scary thing about TF2 is that it's still powered by the Source Engine. The engine HL2 runs on. The engine VALVe hasn't had to replace since 2004.

And now it's free. Why are you still reading this. Go download it. Now.

Half the point I play shooters is so I can hate on people and not feel bad about it though...

and just because TF has a solid system that was actually used for MoH, doesn't mean its the best game. There are a lot of things to take into consideration when you look at games that shaped the industry. Overall, I would give the two biggest players awards to Unreal Tournament for birthing the competitive FPS scene, and Halo for birthing the competitive Console while setting the standard for future FPS games.

Eh, to each their own, I suppose.

Whichever game provides the most fun is, bottom line, the greatest shooter. This is until kinnect/wii sensor bars/ps move/webcams will shoot bullets at you every time you die IC and it actually becomes more than 'a game'.

That said, it will happen one day. Mark my words.
