Leaving Home

The ruins of Medius never looked more beautiful in the setting sun this evening. Alicia took in a deep, satisfying breath of fresh air, relishing the sweetness of the twilight breeze. With a short sigh, she climbed down the building she was standing on- reaching the roads of the destroyed city in moments.

It was odd, not having any armor- but she didn't have the items to trade for a new set and she simply could not bring herself to ask for another from her tribe- yet the speed and fluidity she now possessed without it was certainly not without it's merits. She supposed that having her armor melted off of her body was a blessing in disguise- though she still missed the familiar heft of the plate; and her missing sword was a constant reminder of her foolishness in the face of the great dragon. Frowning, she toyed with the hilt of the dagger at her hip, letting out another sigh before continuing her trek towards the center of the city.

Alicia had never actually been so close to the center of Medius- a fact that both frightened and excited the Knight as she walked through the deserted streets. The ruins of once great buildings that extended into the heavens now blocked large portions of the street- and and ancient manufactured vehicles lined the filled the roads. Most people would dare not enter here alone- for legendary monsters that people only whispered about in safer places dwelt here, alongside the likes of devils and spirits; but Alicia was more than confident in her ability to get away should the danger here prove to be too much. If she couldn't get away- she wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight- not with the tiny dagger she wore at her hip, anyway.

Climbing into the gigantic destroyed tower, Alicia began to root around for anything interesting-looking or useful for trade. Such was her way of life- and she wasn't sure how well she'd be able to supply for herself outside of the great city; but she was sure she could manage and that she could find other ruins (though none as limitlessly fruitful as Medius) in other places if worst came to worst. Within a few moments she had found several small, useful items for trade before she moved on to the other rooms in the dilapidated edifice.

Leaving Home

The place was almost larger on the inside than it was on the outside. Several wild animals had made this dilapidated tower their home- building nests and dens in window ledges, underneath desks and piles of rubble and even in a lopsided chandelier that hung dangerously from the ceiling. Nature had slowly retaken the building as it's own- allowing for the world to continue on despite the apparent cataclysm that had occurred twenty or so years ago.

Some of the technology from those days long past was still present here as well- in the form of a small box with a glass plate on the front of it. Several cables snaked out of it's back and connected with a miniature tower beneath a desk- and cables that originated at the box traveled back up to the desk and into the wall as well. It all appeared to be overly complicated to the Knight, who instead wrenched the wires out of their place and stuffed them into her satchel, for they would be good to use as strong ties on sacks, or as short lengths of rope.

Aside from those, Alicia continued on through the building, keeping an eye on the wildlife as she ascended a set of stairs to her left.
