Slay the Giant Sand Nematoda
The Land of the Desert Tribes
The sky is of a crystal blue with a few thin roaming clouds, the hot dry air moves across the vast sea of sand. The burning sun beams down from the highest point in the sky. Only the strong can live off this land. Mostly Merchants, Thieves, and Hunters roam here. The Thieves steel from the merchants, the Merchants buy and sell with the Hunters, and the Hunters kill the unusual wild things that live in the desert. One such beast are sand worms, hunted for the meat and hide. The silk they produce is strong and light making it good for trading.
Merchant caravans have been coming up destroyed with all the humans and animals missing... the hunters believe that it is the work of a fierce beast known as the Sand Python. Naturally the Merchant's Guild has put a bounty out for the beast and letting all those that have interest the area region it is thought to inhabit.

Slay the Giant Sand Nematoda
In the heart of the burning desert, a small hooded figure walks alone on the merchant's path that weaves through the sea of sand. The ends of a white scarf and black robes dance in the harsh wind as she travels between the rolling sand dune that are always changing the landscape. Her touch of her bare feet scorches the very sand she walk on, leaving a trail of black foot prints to follow the path her travels. She pauses for a moment and her head tilts up to view the blue sky with her burning orbs. A look of loathing marks her soft lips. Her gaze returns to the path and her hand comes up pull the scarf up around the lower half of her face. She would then cross her arms to rube on them like someone would if they where chilled by a cold winters wind as she continues on with her journey across the open desert.

A man can only do so much at work when his boss is away. In particular finding ways to pay himself were getting pretty scarce. But whilst scouting out the Desert Area there was a call up from the Guild of Merchants concerning some suspicious goings on within their area. So Penny was naturally curious and at the same time smelled both profit and perhaps some grateful contacts within the merchants guild. So grabbing his old disguise of a white robe with a brown hood and scarf. He headed out into the desert to track down this sand python.
Joining him in this trip was of course his cat Mittens, his proverbial side kick and eternal companion. She didn’t seem much bothered by the heat, although was somewhat concerned about sand getting to places that she couldn’t lick. On the way there Mittens however did stumble across something interesting, circling around the first of many black footprints in the sand. Now as Penny was aware, things named after snakes didn’t generally have feet. Nor did they leave such an imprint. Though he was curious as to just what it was. As normally burning sand left behind glass as opposed to scorch marks.
But perhaps it was some kind of magical burn that had different properties to that of actual combustible fire. Still regardless of what it was the imprint left behind was an easy enough trail for him and Mittens to follow. Eventually they’d scope in the distance a figure walking that path. Slinging the Sniper Rifle from over his shoulder he aimed down the sights, not planning on blowing a hole in anything just yet, but using the scope to get an idea of just who or what he was dealing with. Interestingly enough it came with a female figure. Thus Penny would go ahead and assume this was either some kind of desert dweller with magic. Or indeed someone on the same trail as himself. Slinging the rifle back over his shoulder. He would begin the process of steadily jogging towards the figure with Mittens running behind him.
Normally Penny would be simply tagged as a threat for being an Onikonjou. But that was easily taken care of by his jacket lining. Unless they had absolutely amazing sensory abilities. He would appear as a relatively unamazing human being.

Slay the Giant Sand Nematoda
The sound of a man's voice calling out, cause the little girl to stop and look over her shoulder. It was an odd man with white robe draped over him with a brown hood and scarf. It pleased her to know that she was in fashion, but this was the desert so it would be normal for humans to cover their bodies from the sun. The man did appear to be just a human... that could see beings from the other planes. She has heard of humans that could see her ken, but cannot recall ever meeting one. And she has rarely showed herself to a human. That would be like a loin roaring at the guzzle while stalking it. Their screams are a lot more enjoyable when they can't see what is hunting them. Thinking about it start to make her feel a little hungry so maybe they odd man will make a nice snack. A few ways of getting the man to come to her unguarded runs through her mind but she had the feeling that if the man can see her then simple tricks wasn't going to work.
She turns to face the odd man to return his question with a question, "The sand python? If you mean the great sand beast then yes I am." The burning red eyes glow in the shadow of the hood pulled over her head.

It had been awhile since hed had to interact with anyone that didn’t actually know him personally. He had to remember just what it was like to act as a representative of the Kyro Corporation. Couldn’t show his true self to strangers. Had to pretend to be Wiseman, the vagabond, the stranger. He noted under her hood were red eyes, she might note that under his were yellow. Perhaps the only real distinguishing feature of his body, the one “ tell” to his true nature. Of course special humans often had differing physical traits to the bread and butter to their species. But it seemed that for the moment he and this girl had a common goal in hunting the beast of the sands. ” Good, it would seem we have a common objective then….my name is Wiseman”. He came close enough to her now, female at least in body. What was under the skin though was anyone’s guess. No human laid down footprints that burned, and it was unlikely Kami were going to have that kind of impression. More than likely he was dealing with one of his own kind on this one.
But if she was, well at least he had the upper hand in the element of surprise. He closed his eyes for a moment and brought back his hood, revealing his face to the lady and to the sunlight. It was of course a decent enough excuse for him to execute some probing of her soul. [SINDAR]. His face for a moment went blank, it was like the world itself went grey around him, time seeming to slow for a moment as everything came rushing to him. Penny’s inherit ability to pick up on peoples Sins and identify them by their own inner darkness….he felt the sins of this one and they were..old. Old and great. The details of them he couldn’t pick up on….but they were there…was this one from before the dawn?
” And this is my cat Mittens”.
He gestured over to Mittens who would sit down next to his foot. “ So if we share a common goal, that questions if you would like to join forces till the deed is done…if you do, perhaps we should share a plan of action?”.

With the man getting so close, the wind would carry the a lovely perfume of sulfur dioxide mixed with burning ashes. The breath taking perfume is oddly named, "Summer Time with Hitler" and is the small girl's natural fragrance. It divers the male Onikonjou crazy and all the ladies have been buying it up in the stores. Sadly it will never reach the human market, due to the fact it is be poisonous to them and their poor taste in perfumes.
The man offers up a name, which doesn't get much of reply other then the burning gaze coming from the red eyes. She thinks for a moment as the man pulls back his hood and getting a creepy blank look on his face. Intention is given to the cat the which the introduction of Mr. Mittens. For a moment she feels a need to play with the cat like a normal girl would, but touching it would most likely kill the small animal. Her body shift to turn around quickly. "That is simple. Burn it till it is dead." She starts to follow the path once again as she seems to agree to with the odd man named Wiseman for the time being.

” Now that there girl is a plan of action I can get behind!”
And get behind it seemed to be the main idea as the girl just started walking off in the other direction. It seemed that at least for the moment he was going to be following this one to try and fine the sand python. Tough it was interesting to note that indeed his ideas had been right about some kind of magical link to fire. It was a good thing that this creature wasn’t all that smart. Otherwise the idea of leaving a trail to follow…well it wouldn’t be something he’d like to do. Unless of course there was a way to lay a trap. But of course, there wasn’t much on plan for the moment other than “ kill it till it dies”. Penny started quick walking following the girl, pulling his hood up once again. ” Com’on Mittens let’s get moving”. The girl though did have that smell about her, smelled like fire. Reminded him of home. Well the home that had once been.
In fact this whole desert was kind of reminiscent of Onitoshi. Not in that hell happened to be sandy. More that it was a vile , scorched unforgiving wasteland which for most there was no return. This was good, kind of. Being around another Onikonjou even if he couldn’t show much of his true self. Although then again that might have to change during battle. Spotting a sand dune up ahead. Wiseman jogs up and takes the rifle out once again, scoping out over the horizon to see if there’s anything of interest up ahead.

Slay the Giant Sand Nematoda
Moving along with things, the small girl walks along the weave path between the sand dunes. Her eyes glance at Wisman as he climbs up the side of dune to look through the scope of his rifle. She still was not sure what the man was, as he seems a little odd for a human but see him use one of their weapons make her question herself on rather or not she would just eat him now and be done with it before he can hinder her movements. Naturally she would eat the cat as it is bad luck to eat a servant of death.
Off in the distant, there is a cloud of dust coming up from between the rolling hills of sand dunes. It is caused by a small trade caravan with armed guards that thinks the rewards outweigh the risk of being attacked by some sand fiend. Not far from the caravan there is stream of sand that shoots up into the air that looks a wheal blowing the water up when it comes up for air. This only happens once so there is no way of knowing what direction the cause of that event is handing.

Well lookie there, apparantly there was somene that was stupid enough to risk the whole sand python thing and try to get across the desert. Well if nothing else they had balls. But then money tended to make humans greedy. And well greed is one hell of a motivator." Hey hot stuff". He said, pun totally intended, still blissfully ignorant to the fact that this chick was actually planning on eating him ( and not in the good way). " Looks like we got something in the distance, looks like a traders caravan, you would think that the constant thread of death would be enough to make them consider the fact that theres more to life than just money......ah but then again if they didn't do that then the humans would have been ejected from the evolutionary cycle....stupid die, smart live...". Humans had very few natural predators and as of such had gogtten rather cocky about their status on Terra as the apexpredtor. Thats until his kind came along of course.
" Oh well.....bugger it!"
With that he ran bounding down towards the Caravan at fully speed. It was whilst on this bounding jaunt that he began to consider the logistics of just what they would be doing when the thing was dead. Would she back stab him? Maybe. Oni kinda did that sort of thing. He had no interest in doing it to her. But well he'd just have to keep his guard up on that one.

Shukumei looks over at the odd man when he calls out hot stuff. She has became a custom to such labels from the fairy boy Paco. His constant complaining of the heat has been endless. Why the Master kept him around was beyond her as she found him to be a little to lippy for a servant. But fairies known to be like that. With the caravan being pointed out and Pennywise taking out at full speed towards it. She pause for just a moment as the question of what was this man bounds around in her mind just a little longer before a pair of wings made of fire burst from her back to project the small body through the air.
The caravan moves at a typical speed between five to ten miles in a given hour. The sand beast heading towards it moves at about the same rate. While Pennywise, with his greater ability of speed, will be able to reach the caravan before anything happens to it. If he looked back for the little girl, she wouldn't be insight.
One of the guards would point Penny out to another one that has his hand shielding his eyes from sun as he looks up into the air.
guard 1: "Hey Joe, look at this guy running across the desert like he is Flash Gordon or some shit!"
guard4: "That guy must be running from the wife!"
guard2: "Dude, what is that thing in air?"
driver1: "Looks like a bird...."
guard3: "That is to big to be a bird..."
About that time the ground starts to rumble....
marchent1: "Sand Python!!!"
Two of the guards get eaten when the massive sand warm burst out from under them, taking half of a cart with them. Some piss themselves as they try to run from the beast. Bolts fly through the air from crossbows that break when they hit the hard hide of the sand beast.

The Sand Python rages on, ripping the small merchant caravan apart. The sky burns with fire, and becomes consumed by waving ribbons of lights. The echoes of sand beast roars and the screams of the men being eaten call out across the desert sands. Sand burst up into the air as if it is water. The burning sky rains down its unforgiving wrath onto the beast. And in a Shin style Saga ending because Jack too off, a massive ball of fire comes hurling down and explodes like a nuke causing a mushroom cloud to roll up into the air. Killing the Sand Python in a max crit with an unlisted Kuritikaru tech. The dust of the big explosion clears out after a few minutes. Uncovering the small girl standing in the crater harvesting the silk of the what was left of the Sand Python before walking away into the setting light of the red sun.
