She appeared at the forge at the crack of dawn, and already there was a soft glow coming from inside. Happily she stepped into the place she called her second home. Already Ravelos was working on a breastplate made from the finest metal we could find, mithril. Sera was shocked as she watched him work, slipping over to the bellows and grabbing her own smaller hammer. Ravelos looked up and nodded to her as he brough the piece of metal to the heated coals. As he turned the metal in the coals, Sera began to work the bellows, her arms pumping as the air heated the coals eto a higher temperature. Ravelos chuckled and shook his head for a moment speaking in that gravelly voice, "There are easier ways to do this by magic, Seraphina. An Air adept would not have to work the bellows, a fire adept would not have to worry about heating the coals." Sera knew where he was going with this speech. He took a a break from speaking to place the red hot metal upon the anvil. He held the piece steady as he pointed with his hammer. Sera began to pound at it, for every three strokes, Ravelos pounded away with one. And thus it went, back and forth, until he placed them back into the coals and spoke again, "Seraphina, magic would make this easier, but then you would not have the true satisfaction of having worked for it. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. Remember that. Hard work pays off the most" There were other smiths around, but most of them used magic, and Sera knew that Ravelos had magic of his own, but never used it to do his job. This is why everyone prefered his work. It was done right the first time with care and hard work.

As the day wore on, she learned how to make work with the mithral and form a breast plate. One for a female figure. Said female came in for a fitting. It fit almost perfectly. Ravelos then told her to return tomorrow afternoon once it was complete. "Tomorrow Seraphina, I will teach you work with the leather straps upon armor such as this. From there we will learn to make leather armor." Sera nodded as he handed her her pay and excused her from work. She was tired but happy.
