Merchants, as far as Alicia could tell, spent a rather large amount of their time traveling the land to peddle their wares. Sure- some villages and the larger cities certainly had local vendors that owned physical shops in said towns- but almost every merchant Alicia had met had been on the road and simply selling straight from their carts.
When the familiar sound of creaking wheels met Alicia's ears while she was working on her new dwelling, a slight grin came to her features and she dropped the tool she had been using to strip the trees she had felled of their excess branches and she approached the sound. It appeared to be a standard caravan sort of deal- with a retinue of five guards (that she could see) alongside the somewhat pudgy merchant who rode upon his cart. With a wave and a shout, she garnered the attention of the lot and walked up to the caravan.
After exchanging names and going through all of the formalities (what brings you to this part of the woods- do you live here alone- latest gossip- etc), Alicia was allowed to look through his various wares. It seemed the man was some sort of amateur arms-dealer alongside of the standard goods merchants usually carried (clothes, food, various useful items- you get the idea), as he had a pretty hefty amount of weapons and armor to go alongside his normal wears. After purchasing what she needed supplies-wise (a saw, some food and a new waterskin), Alicia's eyes lit upon a strange-looking, well-crafted bow and a light chain shirt that seemed to be just her size. Pointing at them- Alicia nodded to the merchant and asked, "How much for the bow and the mail?"
