The pounding of a heavy hammer caused echos to fill the streets on a busy day of marketing as crowds of potential buyers came in his store to see his wares. He had no time to mingle with customers as his various commissions kept him busy though they knew if they required his assistance they could shout their interest. Today's commission consisted of an armor repair, several iron panels and its bindings had been destroyed in what seemed to be a battle with a beast whilst other panels were so damaged that repairs were impossible instead they would have to be replaced. He heated the forge until the charcoal which burned within it was hot enough to the metal to the appropriate molding conditions then proceeded to grasp the iron sheets with heavy duty tongs, placing its hot form onto the anvil in preparation for its shaping. This part was vital if one wanted to save time thus making more money, each strike properly placed with consistency before it was dropped into a barrel of cold water where it emitted a sound only closely resembled by a coiled snake warning off a predator. This occurred for several other panels of iron over the next few hours. The more delicate folding and decorating was done later on after the sheets were bound by strong metal coils to ensure durability without sacrificing mobility. The day was coming to an end for one job, he could not work during the night as the constant sounds of thrashing upset his fellow villagers, on to the next job.

A veil of darkness blanketed the once blue sky which was accommodated by a full moon littered with stars. It was time to patrol the Villages borders from the creatures of the night, demons who preyed on the unsuspecting or played their games of deception and pain. The Village guard had experienced its fare share of casualties but they all knew the price of freedom and peace and gladly gave their lives, though it wasnt without saying they took down the demon and beast scum who attempted to penetrate its walls. Tonight was peaceful as the insects of the night sang their lullaby to those who were up to hear it whilst the more timid animals whispered their tunes, owls hooting to let others know of their existence. Ooin was still sore from this morning but his duties of protection far outweighed his own discomforts which motivated him to strap on his guard uniform consisting of simple garbs and armor accompanied with Ooins personal choice of hammer, a weapon he had become proficient in using thanks to his occupation as a blacksmith though the weapon had to be returned to the barracks once his shift was over. Tonight the roster placed him on the northern gate which was closest to the more denser part of the forest but this was generally safer than the other 3 gates as beasts and demons flocked from the southern forests. With torch in hand he began his patrol.
Another night of guard duty, another night of standing at the gates while light blue eyes scanned suspicious parts of the forest which rested beyond the fortifications of the Earth Village. Today was a huge contrast to yesterday as the sky was clouded by thick shades of gray and black while the light of the moon was hidden behind clouds as if playing a friendly game of hide and seek with those below though to its advantage the heat which was produced by the sun rested within cloud and earth which negated any reason to wear the various furs on guard duty. Ooin held his hammer tight in case he needed to attack as various demons and spirits had infiltrated their watch though none successful in their intentions of death or kidnap...one could attend to the guards skills but in many cases you could chalk up the wins to the attackers ignorance or even arrogance. It was quiet, too quiet, even at times like this the wind should carry the sounds and grunts of animals and beasts which scurried along the forest lines however the absence of such familiar sounds brought a feeling of unease about him which prompted Ooin to call over another guard who had patrolled the streets around the southern perimeter "Jin, stand guard on the other side of the gate. I have a bad feeling about this, just make sure your ready to sound the alarm if I tell you" it was better to be safe than sorry.
