The idea that he would be traveling with this girl so much wasn’t completely bad, though they did seem to have their falling out moments. Castiel actually enjoyed the presence of Vera despite those moments. Vera felt the same way about Castiel if not more though she kept it controlled to a level where it appeared that she was merely ‘Okay’ with it. The two had a list in their hand that was from one of the villages, which was a request from an individual to bring back some lumber. Doing such requests brought little pieces of his memory back, remembering that he was a mercenary doing major and dangerous things for pay, though this would have to settle for now until he could regain greater portions of his memory. The person whom he was doing the request for had let him borrow the axe needed to get the stuff. He didn’t expect to get major jobs in little places like this so he didn’t show any resistance to the idea. The two would chop up a few trees, and after a few hours had passed, they both made their way back to the village. They weren’t ready to leave yet without some form of valuable things in their pockets.

A new day started in the small village in which Vera and Castiel had encountered each other in. The morning light came through the hut that both slept in, which was quite strange that they slept in the same hut. Both had their own area though, and one of the areas was empty. The other had Vera, which around this time she was just waking up.” Cas ? “ She called as she then took notice of his area being empty. She had no idea where he went, but she didn’t expect to see it empty.” Cas are you around ? “. Vera was really hoping to see Cas when she woke up, but that just wouldn’t be. When she got up, she noticed a note on the wall which was from Castiel.” Hey Vera, gone out working, got a job from one of the villagers to escort someone to the caves for materials and bring them back safetly. No breakfast as of yet but will make some when I get back “. Meanwhile Cas was waiting while the individual was collecting the samples within the cave, This would occur for a period of 3 hours before they began to head home, which itself took an hour.

After returning from the escort mission, Castiel made his way to the hut where Vera was waiting for him. She didn’t expect him to be long really, so during the period that she was waiting for him, she neatened up the hut quite abit. She had the need for the area that she slept at to be quite neat. When he got there, she quickly embraced him as if she hadn’t seen him in a long time, but when she realized what she did, she blushed and then quickly released.” Oh! Im sorry Cas “. Castiel did nothing but shook it off.” It’s okay. “. Upon speaking those words, a woman came to to the hut looking for sevice.” Excuse me, Can you help me move stuff to my new Hut ? Im not as young as I used to be “. Castiel new that she was looking for service, so as long as there was money in it, he would Assist. He left the hut with her, heading to her hut to grab the things. This wasn’t hard at all due to his stature, and because of such he was able to assist her within mere minutes, carrying things over with relative ease.

When he was done assisting the lady, he heard the noise of another seeking out assistance but in a more hectic manner. There was no time to rest on this day as it was an extremely busy one. He traveled to the location of where the girl mother pointed to him, and when he got there he found the girl there unconscious.” Hey! After retrieving the woman’s daughter, things seemed to be right definitely after he was paid. He wasn’t paid much, but payment was still payment. He didn’t argue it plus he had saved a young woman so it was good. Him and the girl’s mother took to the Medic ward for her to be treated, and when she was, she began crying abit.” Im sorry Mom…I wasn’t able to get the herbs that was in the forest. The mother looked to him and closed her eyes.” My daughters friend Athena has been sick for some time and she needs medicine in order to get well. Castiel took that as another request for service and left the medic ward, heading in the direction where he picked up the womans daughter, eventually finding his way back to the herbs again. A couple of jobs done in one day, though it didn’t end there. Castiel was paid greatly for retrieving the herbs, which brought him some relief that he was able to help them. He wondered about this other individual though, this girl named Athena. The Mother handed the herbs to the Medic who began making some form of Medicine for the individual Athena, who wasn’t in the ward but in fact in her own Hut. The Medic couldn’t deliver it though because she was also treating the Womans daughter who Castiel found in the woods, so They needed more so a delivery boy to handle this little job. The Payment would be based on how fast Castiel could get the Medicine to Athena which could be told by the condition of Athena by time the Medic would check on her after treating the Woman’s daughter. Holding the Medicine in hand, Castiel rushed out of the Medic ward and more so to the residential district looking for the home of the girl Athena. After checking quite a few huts, Castiel found the right hut and entered. He knew how to administer this kind of medicine so once he found her, he administered the shot.

After the Medic finished with the girl, she made her way over to Athena’s hut just to check up on her and to see if Castiel did it correctly. Athena seemed to be recovering, which caused the Medic to smile at her and at Castiel, though Castiel could have gotten it there earlier. She paid Castiel a decent amount, but then thought about something. Someone would need to stand watch over Athena for a few hours while she tends to other patients, but there wasn’t others she could look to, so she decided to extend the request for Castiel’s service. He was up to it as long as he was getting paid, even if it meant just sitting by someones bedside for a couple of hours. When the Medic left, Castiel just sat there and looked at the girl Athena who was now recovering from her illness. She possessed long green or teal colored hair with a figure almost similar to Vera, though Athen was a little taller so Castiel was guessing that she was maybe 20 or 21. It was a random odd thing to guess the age of individual based on height and facial structures. A few hours past and the Medic came back.

The job itself wasn’t of real importance so the Medic paid him just a tiny. Still, payment was payment to Castiel and more than enough to get Him and Vera by before they headed out on their adventure. They needed as much as they could get, so Castiel didn’t rest until he felt like he had enough. When he walked out, there was an old man awaiting him to ask of his services, for one would see that he was a rather elderly figure, and the dirt on him indiciated that he was attempting farm work.” Hey Mr.Cas, can you help me with harvesting. Im not as young as I used to be so if you can help me, that’ll be great. I’ll pay you of course “. He said to himself as he could feel rush in him as he went over to assist with harvesting some goods. It actually wasn’t a big issue, though some rest before doing it would have been great since he had did some other stuff before hand.It was only 3 hours until Castiel was completely finished with that job, and with that he believed that he was completely done for the entire day.

The next morning would arrive, and this time both of them were laying near each other, almost giving the idea to any that saw that they slept together in a sexual manner even though the two didn’t. Castiel walked out of the tent and followed the young individual to the people that took his stuff, which happened to be only 5 teens. These were the few male individuals in the place, so Castiel had no problem freaking out a bunch of bullies.” Hand it over…Now.. “. Was all he said before they handed the treasure to the owner. It was with that done, Castiel would receive his payments and head back.

Another individual came up to Castiel while he was heading home, though this lady was in a panic.” Can you help me? I saw someone strange enter my home and Their face was hidden. I had to come seek help but there isn’t anyone else I could come to “. It was then that Castiel nodded and made his way over to the residential area. He was led to the home by the lady, and both would wait a little while away from the home. He watched, and eventually decided to move in quickly. Castiel made it to the doorway, in which he placed himself up against the wall and took a peek inside. He noticed the individual grabbing certain things while trying to maintain silence. His eyes narrowed as he snuck in a stealthy manner. Once he appeared behind the intruder, Castiel shot both of his arms underneath the intruder’s arm and then brought them up, locking them. This was a form of grapple used to bind individuals, making their arms not available to them. He would then lift the intruder off the ground and then slam him down onto a table, knocking him out. Moments would pass while the lady waited outside and Castiel would walk out dragging the intruder. After Castiel was paid, he dragged the intruder out of the village and left him outside for whatever to get him, rather than perform the kill himself.

The Job before could have been much easier if he had some kind of weaponry. That was one of the things he was shooting for by doing these odd jobs now. The capabilities of Castiel mainly revolved around the physical aspect, or to be more precise Defense, defending others and himself but need some effective way of Offense asides from basic punches, kicks and tackles. Funny enough it was decent for handling weak beasts and the average human being. His next job was rendezvous with someone outside of the village and guide them back here, an aspect to the path that he had chosen for himself. Castiel made it outside of the village and began traveling to the designated area of the person, but upon making it there all he saw was a old man and a lady that barely looked like she was in her early 30’s.” I take it that you’re the individuals Im supposed to be escorting back to the village huh ? “ Castiel asked while rubbing the back of his head. The lady was holding the old man but still managed to bow slightly to him.” Yes. We got lost but Im glad to see that someone took notice and sent someone out for us “. Castiel simply shrugged slightly while turning his back to them.” In these woods anyone would get lost. Lucky enough I knew of this location along with the other few “. The night would eventually make itself noticeable to the people of that part of the world, and when that occurred, mischief reared its ugly head. Having just completed a few jobs, Castiel was ready to turn in for the day but an individual approached him in tears. It appeared like a Mother who had lost something dear to her, like a husband or her children.” Mr.Cas…something happened to my kids. I saw both of them go out to play but they haven’t returned yet “. She wiped her eyes, though that didn’t prevent more tears from coming down.” I don’t know what to do. Can you find both of them please ? I’ve attempted to search for them but nothing, and I fear they may have left the village with all those dangers out there “. She explained wiping her eyes again. Castiel nodded and went to look for the children immediately, first checking through the village. The lady may have over looked an area so Castiel was just making sure. After an hour of so of looking within the village, he would stumble onto some form of tracks, some leading to another point in the village and some leading outside of the village. Along with the tracks that led outside was another set of tracks that was bigger. He would first follow the first trail within the village which eventually brought him to one of the two kids who then explained to him about his older brother going with some other figure out of the village. Castiel figured this was bad, and would be something he would have to handle, but for now he had one of the kids. Upon bringing him back, she paid him once which was surprising as he thought payment would be one for both, and not one for each.

Castiel went back out to search for the other sibling, knowing that the person that the sibling followed couldn’t have been far, determined by the distance between the steps and the average walking speed of most individuals. The final factor was the time that they left, which wasn’t too long to gain much distance even with running. He looked down at the steps and measured them closely, playing a few things in his head before he got back up and began following after them immediately. His expression wasn’t calm, but more so serious or maybe even determined. Castiel couldn’t stand when people were in danger, definitely the innocent. As he traveled further, he noticed that the trails began to fade, which struck him as odd as they should have been new. Waiting at the end of the faded out trail was a boy alone, with no other individuals to be found despite there being an extra pair of tracks which clearly indicated another individual. He didn’t put much more thought into it as his job was just to find the boy and bring him home, which was exactly what he did. When he got him back to the village, the mother hugged him and then walked over to Castiel, Paying him.

Time stopped for no one, continuing over into the next day where we find Castiel out shopping for little things like food. Today was a special day though, for he would make an encounter that would change the path of his life in an unknown way. While shopping, the current head of this village came up to Castiel with an tired expression.” Castiel, I have a favor to ask. I know that you and Vera are supposed to be leaving the village some time soon, but for the time being can you act as my personal body guard ? We’re supposed to be having some company later from individuals from a distant village. We’ve never been to trusting of others outside of the village so this will be just to be on the safe side “. Hearing that, Castiel gave a slight nod.” Sure, let me just drop this off at home and I’ll be right there “. After That, Castiel finished getting food and made it to his temporary home to drop it off. Vera was off doing her own thing so after dropping it off, he went to the village entrance where he was supposed to meet the leader of their village and wait there for the arrivals of the people from the distant village. Things seemed quite okay when he was watching the individual’s talk, though he kept his eyes open for anything that may have been considered shady. Luckily there was no such thing at the moment. This talk would go on for a period of 3 hours before they parted and the new temporary guests went to the residential area to set up. Business with them wasn’t done, but would have to continue on another day.

The Next day came where negotiations were to continue. Castiel’s job today was to go to the place where the guests was living temporarily and make sure that they had everything they needed to get them over into the afternoon. That was the time of the continuation of the negotiations so it was just babysit until then. He woke up like he did every morning next to Vera, her head facing the opposite direction he was. They didn’t want to create another awkward moment like they did before so they slept further apart despite in the same area. Castiel cleaned himself up a bit and got dressed in his common wear, or basically his only outfit which was his uniform. Vera cleaned it every night and mended any tear in it so it’ll be ready for Castiel the next day. She was still sleep so he left without saying bye to her, heading to the other huts. They wasn’t outside when he got there, and when he checked in they were still sleep. A few hours passed while Castiel waited, kind of annoyed at the fact that he had to wait outside of their hut for more than 20 minutes. When they came out, they all went into the village, Castiel following behind them to act as a guard from the backside. They went to areas in which they drunk at and enjoyed themselves, which in a sense was inappropriate since a little later they would be having a very important meeting with the leader. This annoyed him a bit since he had to basically babysit these guys until then.

The guard job was no where near done, but Castiel was receiving great payment for each day or even important events such as watching the new guests or even standing guard for the person in charge of all of the negotiations. He didn’t mind it much except for the part where he had to play baby sitter, but that was all done with now as he escorted them to the large hut where the talk would commence. Castiel remained silent and only thought about a few things, one of those things being the amount that he would get paid for doing this. He was paid in a decent manner but it wasn’t enough. Castiel was spending a portion for his and Vera’s Living while at the same time putting a decent amount of items on the side so he could build up and eventually gain enough for a weapon that would suit him like no other. No sword, staff or other type of close range weaponry since he had his fists already for that. What he wanted was very dangerous and something that was not to be taken lightly in the hands of others who didn’t know how to wield it. Making it to the hut, the party would split off when inside and sit around the center, being filled with what appeared to be a large table of some sort. Castiel after making it in would begin to walk further around and made it behind the leader. When everyone was positioned correctly and seated, the meeting would commence.

The negotiations continued, covering many issues revolving around the imports and exports between the villages, the current financial status of both and even any crimes that occurred within the period of time that the villages began to even correspond with each other. Castiel was taking this in despite how irrelevant it was to him at this moment, but it didn’t hurt taking in knowledge that wouldn’t put you in a negative situation. The meeting would go on for hours until they covered the last area of discussion. Castiel released a slight yawn because near the end things just got boring. Everything was done now and they had agreed on a lot of things. It was definitely shown by the expressions on their faces, of which was nothing but smiles. The leader would motion to Castiel and began to speak.” This will be it, your final pay from me since everything is done with. What do you plan to do from here on ? “ He asked Castiel causing Castiel to think.” Im going to prepare for Vera’s and mine adventure. We’re going to settle down in another village and I’ll probably get into farming to earn a decent income “. Castiel said as he left to perform his last job, which was to escort the people out of the village safely and see them off.

The day ended, and a new one began the same way that it normally did., with both Vera and Castiel laying down. The only difference this time was that castile wasn’t actually sleep but up all night thinking. He couldn’t help but get caught up in this odd feeling. It began since he was hanging with Vera, getting an odd feeling that people considered them to be couples, something that wasn’t true at all. He didn’t see Vera in that way even though he would go through hell to protect her, he was a guardian afterall. That type of personality was natural for an individual with his kind of status, though he wasn’t sure if Vera was seeing it like that. Still he had a day of work to handle, so he would get up from his resting place and clean himself off before heading out. His first job was simple guard duty, similar to what he was doing the other day but for different individuals that wanted to venture out of the village. This became a new thing since the decrease in dangers as of recently. Castiel made it to the exit of the village where the person was waiting for him, and with his arrival Castiel would walk them through the section of the forests which lead to the cave that he had saved Vera from before. They were going to extract some material so when they made it in there, Castiel kept watch over them while they examined the rock, and then began extraction. When that was done, Castiel led them back to the village.

After leading them back to the village, Castiel needed to take a little break, not from exhaustion but from the simple thing of just watching and no action. It was strange to understand, and though he was one to want to avoid confrontation, he was also an individual that appreciated something happening at any given moment to take away the boredom that came with the job. An idea of this boredom would be people working security positions in stores of at a school. Having to escort the last couple into the cave and watch them just extract materials was a bore, though he didnt wish that anything drastic occured that would put their life at risk. None of them started any conversations so it was just mere observation. The next job though was the escorting one of the medics out into the woods to gather some herbs, stuff used to treat an ailment which plagued an individual that he once assisted in one of his previous jobs. He didnt know of this at the time so gathering more didnt come to his mind. Castiel followed the lady that worked in the medical area out of the village and in the direction of where the herbs was found. When they got there, he watched the area while she began picking the herbs, the right herbs. There were all kinds in the area, and only a select few would be effective. Once she finished with collecting what she needed, both her and Castiel would head back to the village.

Castiel's job as a body guard was coming to an end soon,l having only a few more days left of doing this before he was actually able to upgrade to greater work. Hopefully by then him and vera would be ready to head out on their own to another village and begin their journey. Right now was the period of preparing, knowing that once leaving there was gonna be no turning back. In his head the day that would be coming would be known as ' The Beginning ' The first chapter of his journey. For now he needed to finish the jobs, in which the next client was a beast tamer. He was looking to capture a beast that resides in the cave, but knew he couldn't do it alone so he enlisted the help of Castiel. Castiel was building up in hid defensive factors, so working with the man who possessed offensive capabilities would work well. After meeting up with him, both Castiel and the beast teamer would make their way in the direction of the cave, a cave that Castiel has visited on a few occasions so he was quite familiar with it. After two hours had passed, both individual's made it to the cave entrance, and before they entered they prepared themselves for the worst. Both appeared to be calm before entering the cave, ready for whatever they would encounter. Some time passed since they were in the cave, but both of them came out carrying the beast back to the village.

The day of new beginnings was drawing near, and Vera believed that they were ready for departure. Castiel on the other hand being the guardian type wasn't so sure if they had enough. He didnt get to the way he was without being a bit cautious of the situations that are brought to him or that he create. This was something he considered big, risking a lot to go out and adventure, when he could have done what any normal person would have done and just stayed where he was and lived out the rest of his days with Vera. It was a tempting idea, but even since the beginning, Castiel knew that this stay was only temporary. He was out preparing just like every other day before today, out performing odd and possibly dangerous jobs for other people who he didnt know for items so they could have stuff to trade off with when needed to. There was food and living conditions that needed to be considered, but most important of all, or at least what was most important to Castiel was some form of weapon so he could defend Vera and Himself with more than just Fists. Today's job was a rather simple one, which he was to guard an individual who believed that people were out to get him, more so vampires. Castiel actually laughed at the thought in his head, but since the person was paying, he couldn't refuse. Over the night, Castiel stood by his bed, guarding him until the next morning.

The morning came and brought about a safe feeling for the client of his soon to be considered past job. When the client woke up, Castiel was there to assure him that he was still alive and that nothing had happened during the night." Im alive ? " He asked turning to the open space in his doorway which allowed the sun to come in. Castiel released a slight smirk and then nodded in a confident manner. " Of course you're alive! as your guard I wasn't going to allow anything to happen to you. Quite a lot happened last night... first it got really dark, and then the vampire came and put a spell on you that didn't allow you to wake up no matter what, not until it was dead. That's where I came in and killed it and saved you ". Castiel was bull shitting him, but it would get him more business in the future. Upon hearing that, The client smiled and then hugged Castiel before paying him. With receiving the Payment, Castiel made his way out of the building, and over to where he would find his next client. This time it was a woman with two kids that she wanted him to watch over while she was out on some business. This was basically baby sitting, with the added spice that these two kids was Pyromaniacs so he had to make sure throughout the day that they got their hands on nothing that could create a spark. he followed them everywhere and everytime they would pick up something, even a rock, Castiel would force them to release it in a manner that wasn't harmful to the child and wasn't considered abuse.

This job was compleated without much of a hussle, and as soon as The mother returned the next day, Castiel would give her a report on her kids and how they behaved. The two individuals seemed quite energetic, though that was somewhat expected for kids of their age, still it was quite dangerous when applying it with the fact that they were Pyromaniacs. He was doing what most baby sitters had to do at the end of the job before even recieving payment. He released a sigh before he began the report." Both of them are safe as you can tell, though I have to say I dont know how you really manage this. They are good kids but the energy they make you exhaust is worst than fighting some kind of beast ". Right there he was comparing the nature of the kids to the very beast he fought weeks ago in the cave. The mother simply giggled a little before nodding as she agreed with him." But Im a Mother, when having kids you have to know that there is a possibility that you would get super energetic tykes, still I wouldn't have them any other way ". After explaining that, She would Pay Castiel and send him on his merry way, onto his next Job. This time it was something a little more simple, his job now being to guard the Medic ward from someone trying to steal the new treatment that they developed for an ailment, almost like a cure to a curse.
