| It was a dark... night? Honestly, Iskra, the new spirit in town or... not-town as it were, had no way of telling. There was the darkness to rule the day and the darkness to rule the night. She found it rather disconcerting that only the floating souls of the deceased and the unsettling red mist offered any illumination at all. It was perfectly fine, though. She had a goal with this sort of thing. Ever since assuming human form, her senses had dulled. In her admiration of the gods, that is, humans, she didn't take into account that perhaps they were just as balanced as she. Their godlike powers seemed to come at a cost to perception and raw muscular strength.
But if there was one thing that she was determined to continue despite her fresh handicaps, it was hunt. It was all she knew, her only way to get food, and indeed it seemed that even as a god she grew hungry.
She wasn't very familiar with human hunting methods except for the brief moment where her father had been sent on his merry way to his next life via spear.
The woman had a spear and licked her jowls hungrily as she crouched in the dark, reddened bushes. Before her a magnificent beast marched on, a minotaur from the looks of it. She knew not the beast's name or species or clan, simply that it had horns, and if there was one thing experience had taught her is that horns had no reason to exist but to guard tasty meat... at least guard it until she came along. It was all she could do to suppress a giggle at the thought of satisfying her hunger.

| The huge creature dipped his head to sniff some object on the ground. Likely he would have been able to detect the woman's scent if it weren't for the spear she shoved into the curious snooter with excessive force. So hard did she shove the sharp stick that it emerged out of the other end of his skull, blood and brains dripping out of the wound and off of the wood.
Eager to eat, she dug her claws into the creature's skull and dragged it bodily into the bush, falling upon the flesh and finding herself disappointed by the toughness of the flesh.
She frowned. Her jaws in this form weren't right. She could barely penetrate the hide that would ordinarily be as paper to her.
Well, this was unprecedented. Her stomach growled and her mood soured. She satisfied herself with licking the blood off of the makeshift spear and slurping the gray matter from the gaping wound. It was full of fat and cholesterol, but carnivores were immune from the more negative effects of the two nutrients that were usually left humans in the hospital.
She needed that nourishment. Wiping her mouth, her eyes fell upon the creature's impressive nose ring, and she pocketed it. The jewelry piece looked valuable. The horns she kept as well, and a few other mementos

| So things had gone well that day. The woman had no notion of the concept of refrigeration, and the best way of preserving food she knew of was to convert it to fat beneath her skin. So she gorged on the giant carcass for a few days, thirty pounds of meat in each go. The maggots and general rot of the atmosphere softened his skin so even her rather pathetic human teeth could go through the meat.
Oddly enough, she gained a concept of "putrid" that was quiet alien to her before, and soon she realized that it wasn't good for her stomach in this form to continue eating the meat once the rot took hold. She was loathe to waste meat in this manner, but she had to move on.
The next thing she caught, however, she didn't kill. It was a skinny, humanoid thing that probably had enough flesh on it for her to eat. And it cried out, oh how it cried out. Fortunately, the minotaur had left her with a rather large bone that she used to club the creature over the head and thus make it easier to transport.
The creature was the type of lust spirit that bred incubi and succubi from the seed of men. She had bat wings and a ridiculous hourglass form. Her pointed tail and long hair dragged along the ground. She wasn't sure exactly how she was going to cut the bony woman up. She didn't have any muscles or decent deposits of fat...
But a rather interesting fellow who looked like a bipedal rat around three feet at the shoulder approached, rubbing his hands over each other nervously before he opened his trenchcoat. He had an array of cheeses.
The hyena woman certainly couldn't pass up all those cheeses. They smelled delicious, even if they weren't meat.
So soon she was free of her burden and walking around with a few fine samples of the fine dairy product. Behind her she heard squeaks and grunts of ecstasy, ostensibly belonging to the trader. Maybe he was eating her. The hyena woman didn't care. She had a path to walk and some cheese to eat.

| This day's hunting didn't go so successfully. Rather, she came across a vast cliff in the wilderness, and falling into it, she discovered a nest of hideous, mewling creatures, naked with underdeveloped beaks and huge eyes.
Their flesh was tender, and Iskra decided that it was good fare. Though the baby birds were huge, they weren't very strong and she was able to drag one off into a crevice on the hellish peak that lead to a cave that led to a tunnel. For the shortest of moments, she thought she should stop and dine on her fare.
But the mother of the infant monsters appeared, first as a shadow that seemed to blot out the already dim light of the inferno, then as a massive, black, feathered form that shrieked its rage.
Laying on the peak, though she doubted the monster's beak could reach so far, suddenly seemed like a dreadful idea. She dragged the carcass into the cave with a ghostly silence.
