Slice of Life (Jin x Meloli) *

About a month had progressed since the passing of Jin’s father and the young boy found himself within the care of his father’s closest friend. The home he found himself living in was a two bedroom dwelling with common rooms and for the moment, he was sharing a room with his childhood friend, and only friend, Meloli. The house, itself, was much different from the home that he had come from. His house was something constructed by his father in an attempt to replicate relic houses, but the house he was in now seemed a lot stronger and cleaner when compared to what he was used to, as it was a relic home. It wasn’t a happy transitional time or a period of exploration for him. He was quiet, reserved, and generally only did things when he was interacted with. At moments, he would just sit by himself and nod or shake his head, seemingly paying attention to something almost as if someone were talking to him.

One such day, after sunrise, Jin would be lying on his back with his eyes open in the bed that was made for him within the first few days of him staying with his new family. His gaze would be up, looking at the ceiling, not really doing anything in particular. He had woken up a few minutes prior, but hadn’t gotten out of bed yet. Since the sun was already up, that meant that Meloli was probably already awake. For the moment he didn’t really do anything other than think about what he should do to start off the day, or what to do at all today. Currently he was just living with no real purpose or objective to fulfill.

Jin steps back as Meloli reaches the door and pulls it open for the two of them to enter the house through. He makes his way through the door and then waits for her to come in and lead the way into its interior as she would go forth and summon the two parents to have them look at the treasures that the two children had managed to unearth. With this, show and tell was finally about to begin. Since they would be showcasing their wares to the parents, Jin decides to dump his load in the main sitting room, that way they could view everything in a common area. It seemed that him and Meloli were on the same page with that thought. After making it into the main sitting area, Jin lowers and lays down the blanket that everything was wrapped up in. He then moves to smooth out the blanket, sit up the toppled bucket and organize the various items that they had found in a way that the parents would easily be able to see everything. Waiting for Meloli to bring the parents to come see, Jin would look up and wait to see what their reactions were.

Jin would be sitting patiently amongst the things that they had gathered as Meloli comes to his side and the parents enter into the room. The boy found it hard to read their expressions since there were more than one stereotypical emotion mixed in with the others. His head tilts to the side as he waits to see what the verdict would be, but he at least thought that they were happy for the two children. The smile that comes from the elder male was reassuring to him as he feels a bit uplifted at the fact that they had proven themselves. With the first words, Jin looks to Meloli in a shy version of ‘we did good’ before looking back at the praising father. Though they had been congratulated, it wasn’t mentioned what the stuff was or what it was for. I wouldn’t speak up in this type of environment to draw attention from all three to myself to ask the question, so I would wait for Meloli to lead and see if she could mine some information from the two parental units on what they had found and its various uses with hopefully some visual examples to help in understanding.

Jin’s eyes of understanding were enlightened with that information. With those words he realized that they had actually stumbled into a very useful treasure. He reaches for the large purple ribbed phallus and murmurs to himself while holding it up and gazing at it in awe, “…so if I use this I can become a daddy with my own kids…” Looking to Meloli, he comes to the conclusion that some of this stuff was probably for her because girls were the ones who were supposed to become mommies. As a man, it was probably his job to use them on her somehow. He didn’t know how to use it or where it would go in reference to Meloli or himself, but he figured they would learn over time. This meant that they couldn’t possibly sell the things that they had found because Jin had promised Meloli that he would make her a mommy and with this, he had a greater power and capacity to do so. Looking to Meloli, he says, “we will have to keep these save in our room…” He didn’t add the ‘so we can learn how to use them’ just because he wasn’t vocalizing that much ahead; he would just indicate that he now acknowledged their true value.

The tilt of Jin’s head straightens a bit as he sees the mother figure leave the room to go prepare lunch; that was good because after all that treasure hunting, he was about ready to get something in his stomach. He would observe that she seemed extra happy to prepare food for the adventurers; they had indeed done a good job. After watching her leave, his attention returns to Meloli. With her words, he would nod in agreement until she turned her attention back to the father. Looking to him Jin would agree with the fact that they may need shelves for their trophies; as always Meloli was filled with good ideas. With the suggestion to put it in the corner, Jin would stand to his feet and lean over to begin collecting the items so that they could be neatly tucked away. If Meloli wanted to help with this, then it would just go that much faster. Looking to Meloli, Jin asks her softly, “do you think your parents will show us how to use it, or will they not be able to without making another baby?” He was semi against the idea of having another child in the house as it would possibly diminish his feeling of self worth within the family.

Jin would accept that answer from Meloli and from there he would leave the topic at that for the time being. All and all, he felt that a lot was accomplished today. Promises were made and treasure was taken, both in the earth and innocently upon Meloli’s lips. The boy knew that the treasures that they had gained weren’t going anywhere any time soon and since they would be on display where they could easily be viewed, Jin figured that he wouldn’t forget about needing to use them by the time he became within the ripe stage of life to be a daddy. Thus with this, it looked like the main focus of the day had come to an end before lunch. No doubt they would probably treasure hunt a bit more after lunch and the next day after that, but for right now, Jin wanted to make sure he got something into his stomach. He could smell the food from the kitchen that the mother had been preparing for this time, so after getting things straightened up with Meloli, he begins to make his way into the kitchen to see if it were time for lunch. Meloli and the day’s events had managed to actually put him in a good mood for the moment and he would cling onto it as long as possible.
