| About a month had progressed since the passing of Jin’s father and the young boy found himself within the care of his father’s closest friend. The home he found himself living in was a two bedroom dwelling with common rooms and for the moment, he was sharing a room with his childhood friend, and only friend, Meloli. The house, itself, was much different from the home that he had come from. His house was something constructed by his father in an attempt to replicate relic houses, but the house he was in now seemed a lot stronger and cleaner when compared to what he was used to, as it was a relic home. It wasn’t a happy transitional time or a period of exploration for him. He was quiet, reserved, and generally only did things when he was interacted with. At moments, he would just sit by himself and nod or shake his head, seemingly paying attention to something almost as if someone were talking to him.
One such day, after sunrise, Jin would be lying on his back with his eyes open in the bed that was made for him within the first few days of him staying with his new family. His gaze would be up, looking at the ceiling, not really doing anything in particular. He had woken up a few minutes prior, but hadn’t gotten out of bed yet. Since the sun was already up, that meant that Meloli was probably already awake. For the moment he didn’t really do anything other than think about what he should do to start off the day, or what to do at all today. Currently he was just living with no real purpose or objective to fulfill.

| As if the little girl had radar or something, she skipped into the room they shared with an excited smile on her face. "Yay, you're awake! Breakfast is almost ready an after we eat Mama says we have to go play outside. She said something about getting out of her hair, I guess she wants some alone time to fix it or something." Meloli had graciously given the boy time to grieve the loss of his father and disappearance of his mother... three weeks is plenty long enough in kid time, right?... so now she was back to treating him like she had always done, bouncing happily around him and trying to drag him off on adventures. She missed her friend, even if he was sleeping right across the room from her every night, she missed how he used to be. Her parents had tried to explain that what happened could change him forever, but Meloli could not believe she and Jin would never play as happily or easily as they once had, she just wasn't ready to give up on that yet.
Grabbing her adventuring shoes, the ones made from the thick hide of some woodland animal, from where they lived under her bed, the girl flashed her friend and adopted brother another bright grin. "Hurry up, you don't want your eggs to get cold, they get all chewy and icky then, plus daddy will eat all the meat strips if you don't watch him."

| There is noise that normally indicates that Meloli had awoken. As she enters into the room and speaks, Jin’s head tilts along the side of the bed and looks towards her direction, still lying down. The sound of breakfast seemed a good idea to him; he did like to eat food since it had a tendency of tasting good. Then it was mentioned about the playing; he remembered his one job as a child. The father’s job was to hunt, the mother’s job was to cook and he and Meloli’s job was to play outside. Still, it was good since it kept him from becoming too frail of a boy. Since she was here and happy, Jin was at least a little conscious of the fact that he shouldn’t bring her down. Slowly he pulls himself out of bed and brings his feet to the floor. While moving, he feels something wet and stands to find that his pants were soaked. The turns and looks to the bed to realize that it was wet and remembers that he had a dream that he woke up and went to the bathroom last night; those tricky dreams. “Oh,” he says, mostly just making the connection that he wet the bed. Because his pants were dirty he pulls them down and steps out of them while she fetches her shoes. He would have to apologize to the mother again. He tosses the pants onto the bed and goes to change as he answers “okay” to the plead to hurry up. After changing into a new pair of pants, he balls up the sheets and his old pants in the blanket and drags it along the floor to head to the dinner table and to give to the mother to take care of unless Meloli knew what to do with them.

| Meloli wouldn't make a big deal about the wet pants and sheets, she knew what it was like to have accidents and wanted to do nothing at all to make her friend feel any worse about it than he probably already did. Instead she would simply point to the pile of dirty clothes in the corner of the room and remind him that today was laundry day anyway and her mother would come in after breakfast to gather up everything. The little girl knew her mother would probably go ahead and wash the linens from Meloli's bed while she was at it, that way both beds would be stripped down and remade later in the day. She then tosses him a supportive smile with a finger over her lips to let him know that she wouldn't say a word to her father... nor would her mother as long as the children were still nearby. As long as everything seemed to be alright now, the little girl would lead Jin to the table where they could enjoy a nice, hearty breakfast.

| Jin’s gaze follows the pointed finger to the pile of dirty clothing; he didn’t really feel bad about it, more indifferent. Still, he realizes with the point that he was going the wrong way. In their relationship, Meloli was often the one to lead so he just trusted that she was always right and that added to the dynamics of their friendship. Jin redirects his movements to the pile of clothing to be picked up later before making the mistake of walking out of the door and presenting it to the mother. He places the dirty garments there on the floor for and leaves them there turning his attention back to his childhood friend. With her giving the finger over the lip, Jin nods and agrees that he wouldn’t tell anyone since there was no reason to and also because Meloli didn’t want to. Internally he knew that it was because she was looking out for him. When it was time to leave the room, he follows the bubbly little girl to the common area where the food would be served. Jin immediately noticed that the food smelled good as he entered into the area. He follows Meloli’s lead to the table where he took his seat next to hers and waited to be served and begin eating.

| With the possibility of adventure looming in her immediate future, Meloli didn't waste any time wolfing down her breakfast. She didn't eat like a ravenous wildebeest but it was probably pretty darn close. When she was finished, most likely before Jin was done with his plate, she excitedly asked for permission to leave the table, only waited a beat for it to be granted, and ran off to the room she now shared with her best friend and adopted brother. Moments later she returned to the dining area with her little arms full of supplies; two empty pails, her entire collection of child size digging tools, an old book of bound blank pages that her father had given her to sketch any treasures she found in, and a small blanket to wrap the best findings in. Of course she would need help carrying everything outside of the house but for now, her tiny twig arms seemed to be handling the load quite well... her patience handling the wait for Jin was another story... but she tried to be nice and not tap her foot or do an altered version of the 'gotta potty' dance. She didn't want to be rude and make the boy feel rushed to finish his food, mainly because that could give him a stomach ache and ruin all of her big plans for the day, and maybe because she didn't want to risk upsetting him which could lessen the fun they were sure to have.

| After getting to the table, Jin eats from the food that was served to him. While eating, he looks over to Meloli who seemed to really be enthusiastic about eating. The food was good, but he wondered if she just wanted to get it out of the way so that she could drag him outside. Either way, he continued to eat at his own pace. By the time Meloli is excused from the table, Jin is about half way done with his eating. By the time she returns, he is only a little bit further. It comes to the point where Jin looks between Meloli and his plate several times before leaving the unfinished breakfast sitting there as he asks and excuses himself from the table at the same time. From the table, he walks over to where Meloli is waiting for him. There was really nothing that needed to be said, he would follow her because… well, he didn’t know why, but he had a tendency to just go along with whatever she wanted to do. He didn’t have the confidence in himself to lead activities and since she was higher in the ‘family rank’ than he, the one without his own family, was, then he felt that he should do as she says… some times. Looking to her, he saying, “ready” and holds out his hands as if to offer to help her carrying the multiple things of varying purposes.

| When the boy excused himself from the table and joined her where she waited, Meloli looked past him to her mother and father to make sure they were alright with him leaving before his plate was clean. Her mother looked over his plate with pursed lips, she didn't like the idea of sending him outside without a full belly but at the same time she figured that the more than half of his portion that he did eat would be sufficient fuel to energize him until they both returned for lunch, when she would insist that his plate be completely cleared. After the mother communicates her permission for the children to go and play outside, Meloli handed over half of the necessary supplies to the boy and headed quickly for the door before any adult minds could be changed.
Once outside she turned her face toward Jin and asked which end of the beach he would like to explore today. She had no preference, feeling that priceless treasure awaited them in either direction. If he chose which way they went to find a digging spot, she thought he would have more fun with the whole thing. Treasure was only the second biggest reason she was so excited to be going on an adventure, the main reason was to see her friend enjoy their time together again like he used to. At such a young age, the little girl could only hope that playing would make Jin happy again, she didn't know anything else to do to make it happen and her heart hurt to see him sad.

| Jin receives the instructions that he is to clean his plate at lunch and gives a lot of acceptance. He didn’t want to make Meloli wait, but it would seem that the decision he had made to go with her first may not have been right. Turning back to the young girl, he receives his allotment of items before progress is made to the door. Carrying the items given to him, Jin wattles out of the door. The full effect of the day’s radiance shines down on him from above and the breeze from the ocean brushes against his body. Outside, the smell of the salt air was more clear than inside. His attention returns to her as she inquires which direction of the beach they would be attending. To clarify, he asks, “oh, digging today?...” He thinks for a moment as he looks left and then right down the span of the beach. He remembered that his old house was in one direction and it wasn’t in the other. Nodding south, in the direction of his former home, he would answer, “let’s go that way…” He begins walking in that direction as his voice trails off slightly; he inquires, “Meloli, just what is treasure?”

| Heading off in the direction he chose, Meloli adjusts the supplies in her arms and begins trudging through the loose sand toward the water line where it was more compact. She had to think about his question for a moment, had to figure out just how to put it. There were really two answers to give, the one she had learned from the bedtime stories her parents used to tell her of adventurers seeking gold, jewels, and anything else that could be used to trade for goods and services. Then there was the one she believed to be more true... "Treasure can be anything we want it to be, I'm not really sure what treasures we will find today but I am sure that we will know it when we see it." The answer made perfect sense in her four year old mind. She assumed it would make just as much sense in his.

| Jin’s ears would pick up the sound of the sea in the distance and the sounds of gulls and they glided in the air overhead near the coast. The tranquility is added upon as her definition of treasure comes in. The boy’s head would tilt towards the girl as he took in her words and then looks back forwards. He mouths, “anything you want it to be…” Of course, if there were a treasure that he would want, it would be for his parents to return, but that seemed impossible. He wondered if there was anything else in value that could be found lying around on the sand. Of course, his young mind wouldn’t linger on this for too long. Though he set the current direction he would count on her to find the best spot available. In the meantime of allowing her to find a good place, he says out of the blue in a low tone, “my daddy says that my mommy was his treasure. I wonder if he dug her up from somewhere.” Looking over to the girl, he asks, “if you could have anything in the world, what would it be?”

| The little girl kept her eyes peeled for a prime spot to start digging for a treasure she felt was just out there waiting to be found. Once they reached the edge of the water she could see an odd shaped tree in the distance. The stories her daddy would tell, whenever mommy was too busy to listen in, sometimes included what he called pirates. These pirates would bury their treasure collections near the beach and always had to find a spot unique enough to find again once they returned to the area so the oddly leaning tree, that appeared to be two individual trees that somehow combined their trunks into one, caught her eye as a spot unique enough for pirate treasure. She pointed this spot out to Jin as she thought over his words and question. "I think that is the right spot for today." Still thinking, she glanced out over the water and tried to let the sea breeze blow the burning tears back into her eyes. "I don't think your daddy dug your mommy up anywhere. I think he maybe meant that his feelings for your mommy were like the way the adventurers feel about their treasures. Daddy calls me his treasure sometimes, that's what it makes me think he means." It was still hard to talk to her friend about his parents, she had no experience with death before finding his father and felt useless whenever she tried to make the boy feel better. "If i could have anything in the world it would be for everyone I love to be happy and safe forever, especially you."

| Jin’s gaze shifts to the area that is pointed out as he sees the peculiar trees merged seemingly as one. It was one of the places we hadn’t dug up yet, so it seemed to make sense to him that it was a good place to start searching for treasure. He gives a nod in understanding what the current objective was and begins to walk in that direction with her. As we walk, he hear her words and give a nodding, “ooh…” in response. Her response made him feel a bit better and good on the inside. In thinking about it and how it made him feel, he came to the thought process that she was about the only thing that made him feel good like that. Her parents tried, but Meloli was without a doubt the best at it. With that feeling, Jin wondered if that was how adventurer’s felt when they found treasure. Looking back to her he asks innocently enough, “so would that make you my treasure? Are we like my mommy and daddy were because you make me happy?” Without defined boundaries of what a family consisted of, Jin would simply ask whenever he was unsure of a relationship.

| Hearing that she made him happy was enough to cause the girl to stumble a bit in the sand. Luckily she was able to right herself and still manage to keep her half of the supplies secure in her arms. Her eyes filled with the best tears she had ever known as her head bobbed in an awkward nod. "I think we could be like your mommy and daddy were if I make you happy. You make me happy too, probably happier than any other treasures we can dig up here on the beach. I know I love you way more than I could love any old rocks, even the pretty sparkly ones. If I can be your treasure, would you be mine too?" They were almost to the tree now, where she would most likely drop the supplies and grab her friend in a big hug if he would allow it, it was beginning to feel like a huggy kind of moment.

| Though it wasn’t visually apparent on his face, Jin felt a warming sensation in his stomach when she spoke to him with those words. A light blush would be the only indication of his feelings as he nods and accepts her words. He was glad that he was better than sparkly rocks since they were pretty. Answering her back, he says, “okay…” agreeing to the terms of him being her treasure as well. In his mind, he knew what this meant. “So…” he searches for clarification, “that means when I get big like your daddy, I’m going to make you a mommy and you’ll have to cook and clean up stuff, right?” The boy figured those were the roles. The daddy found the mommy who found the kids and did things around the house and the daddy went out and hunted and protected the family. His cheek would press against her shoulder in the big hug during this time with his head kind of to the side. He starts to get worried for a moment as he realizes in a soft tone, “I don’t know how to make a house…” He begins to think that he would either have to learn or find one that no one is using. “Oh…” he remembered when they made a sand castle once, “maybe it’s not that hard…” They could live in a sand castle… now things were starting to make sense.

| As she released him from the hug, Meloli brushed a soft kiss across his lightly colored cheek and pulled back the rest of the way to look at him with a big smile. "Sure, when I get big like Mommy I should know how to cook and clean, if not then she can teach me. And when you get all big like Daddy you will probably know by then how to build a house or Daddy could teach you. I'm sure we will know everything we will need once we get big enough and then we can be each others treasures forever." In her mind it made perfect sense, as so many things do at that age. He was already her best friend, her only friend, so who better to make her a mommy than him? She figured they could work out the finer details along the way, whatever they might be, as long as she could make him agree to one big concession right now. "When we get big like them and you're the daddy and I'm the mommy, you'll still come on adventures with me, right? After all the cooking and cleaning and house-y stuff is done, right?" Even at this tender young age, Meloli couldn't imagine a life without some adventure somewhere.

| After his release from her he embrace, had his hands not been filled with what Meloli had placed in them, his hand would come to the side of his face where the kiss had been planted. Instead that area would be just a little warm. When the question comes about the adventuring and such, Jin’s gaze shifts to the side as he nods “mm” agreeing with the though. It sounded like a good idea to him, but inside a voice reminds him not to get too happy and that there was something that he had to do before making his own family. It was a bit of a downer for the boy, but his lack of emotional range helped him hide it. Moving on from that, Jin squats and sits down the stuff that was in his hands. There seemed to be things that weren’t needed for digging, but they probably would come in use later. He looks around and finds a large stick that was under the tree. He walks over to it and picks it up before walking back over to the pile of stuff and lying it down; it was his sword. He looks to the tree and then to the blanket that was on the ground. He starts to lay it out and flat so that it wouldn’t be crumpled. In an OCD manner, he would arrange the things that they had until orders were received from Meloli on where to do what.

| Catching on to what he was doing, after taking a brief moment to enjoy his agreeing to future adventures in their adult life, the little girl eventually bent to help him arrange everything on the blanket while she considered the best plan of attack. She wasn't sure what the stick was for but didn't feel the need to question him about it, she trusted him fully and had no fears that he would ever use it as a weapon against her. "Do you think we should start digging on this side of the tree or would the back side be better? If I was going to try and hide treasure here I'm not sure I would bury it in the front, the back seems a little safer, like it is protected by the tree or somethin'. Does that sound ok to you?" While the adventure was her idea, and the digging for treasure, she wanted his input on the whole thing. She didn't want to make a dumb decision or waste time digging somewhere he thought would be pointless.

| Jin looks up as her voice reaches him again. To her question he nods and answers, ”ok” before he realizes that ‘ok’ might not sufficiently answer the question. He clarifies his statement and says “we can dig in the back first.” With the amount of time they could possibly spend looking for treasure, there was a chance they could possibly uproot the tree all together in their search. Stopping what he was currently doing, he walks over to the back of the tree and crouches down at it resting his arms on his knees as he inspects the ground. He pats the ground to see how hard it is before walking over to the shovel and leaning over to pick it up. After getting it, he walks back over to the back of the tree and digs the shovel into the ground there. With a slight grunt, he pulls the earth up from the ground and discards it to the side. He continues this procedure while asking, “why do you think treasure is in the ground? Is it something planted that has to grow or does it die and then people put it there?” Depending on the logic there was a chance that his father could have turned into treasure by now, if things worked that way.

| At first when Jin answered with nothing more than an 'ok', Meloli stared at his back with her mouth turned up in a pouty frown. 'Ok' was not enough of a response, but before she could press him for more he volunteered the rest on his own. Her face split into a wide grin as she watched him move to inspect the ground at the back of the tree, she felt good to know that he agreed with her assessment, even if he didn't fully grasp the purpose of the activity. As he began to dig, and ask why they would look for treasure in the ground, the little girl followed suit and picked up her own shovel to help with the work. "I don't think it works like that, it might, but that isn't why I want to dig for treasure here." Taking a moment to look around the beach, just to make sure her mother wasn't lurking nearby to hear her rat out her father, she made sure there were no nearby ears but his before continuing. "Daddy tells different stories when Mommy isn't close to hear. Some of them are about these men he calls pirates, they go all around the world collecting treasure and then find a spot near the beach to bury it. Daddy says that they look for some kind of thingy that will be easy to find when they come back to dig it up again. That's why I thought this tree might be a good place to look, it is different enough to be easy to find and would be here for a really long time."

| The boy’s body and its movements coax little grunts here and there and he continues to break the soil and relocate it with the small shovel as she talks. During this time he is able to get a couple inches into the template of what he hoped to be a nice enough sized hole. With her explanation he understands that there are people called pirates that collect treasure and then bury it on the beach. This was a little confusing to Jin because he couldn’t understand why someone would go and find treasure and then bury it somewhere else. “So…” he begins to try to understand this system, “they go and find treasure and then bury it so someone else can go and find the treasure and then bury it because it makes them happy?” In a way, it seemed to him like a system where everyone shared treasures in some grand game played on a global scale. Of course, with her being the more knowledgeable among them on these things, he would look to her for clarification on his theory. Also for further clarification he asks, “am I digging this right?” He would lean back and let her inspect it before moving on.

| "You are digging it just right, but can you move over a little so I can help dig too? I don't ant you to have to do all the work." The question he ended with was the easier thing to respond to so it was taken care of first. The part about the pirates and their treasure was going to take a bit of thinking. "Umm, I don't think it works that way. The way I think it works is that the pirate guys go around and collect their treasures but they either don't have homes to store it in or don't think it would be safe in those homes while they go out to look for more, they pick places like this to bury it so it will be safe while they are going out to find more. I don't think they mean for people like us to come and dig it up." This starts her little mind spinning around the right or wrong aspect of their activity. She wonders if they could get in trouble for taking anything they find, but then just as quickly as the worry settles over her, she decides that she will figure out if it is right or wrong once she sees if they find anything at all.

| Of course Jin would move over for her. Since she was the one who made the rules for them, he would oblige her any way she asked. He would shift his body to the side making sure that was enough room for her to fit beside him. Jin’s able to understand a bit more that the Pirates were homeless people who went around finding treasure. Instead of buying homes with the treasure they seemed to enjoy hiding it so that they could come and get it later? Deciding to let the top of pirates drop for now, since he didn’t think that he would be able to understand it, Jin simply gives a nod and answers, “I see.” In that manner he would continue to dig and dig until Meloli’s heart was content. He didn’t actually care whether or not they found anything since he knew that it made her happy and that’s all that seemed to matter to him. From time to time, he would look up at her in somewhat of an admiring manner and then look back to the task at hand before them. After a moment he assures, “if a pirate comes and tries to hurt us for taking his treasure I’ll hit him with that big stick over there, okay? But then we’ll have to run. I’ll protect you.”

| Meloli grinned at Jin as she stepped up beside him to start digging at the hole he had already started. Content to dig with him in silence for a moment, the little girl said nothing else until he spoke of the pirates and protecting her with his big stick. After this is mentioned, she looks at him much like any princess would gaze at her knight in shining armor with as much adoration as her four year old body could possess. "I hope we won't have to worry about that since we should see them coming in from the water in time to run, but thank you for saying you will protect me. I feel safe with you." To a little girl on an adventure that could be dangerous, feeling safe was very important and even though Meloli didn't say it often, she always knew that she was safe with Jin and he would never let anyone hurt her.

| A short smile almost comes to the boy’s lip as he hears her words. He settled with a quiet sense of contentment and kept his feelings to himself. His only response is a bashful nod. After digging for a little bit longer, he starts to feel anxious. There was a feeling in his gut that was building up that started to make him suddenly feel uneasy. He searches his heart to attempt to figure out what the issues was. Suddenly, he realizes something as he stands up and says, “hold on one moment.” With that, he gets up, takes a few steps away, de-pants and relieves himself making a golden arc that glistened in the sunlight. He hadn’t gone since he wet the bed and after breakfast, the elixir of gold had built up. He gives a sigh as he makes his little puddle and when he’s down, he leans down and pulls his pants back up before waddling back over to where Meloli was as if nothing had happened. Squatting back down he continues to dig until he hits something hard. There is a short gasp emitted before he uses his hand to dig out the thing that he had found. Using both hands to grasp it, he holds a purple, phallic shaped object in his hands. He blinks for a moment as he thinks that it looks familiar, but it was huge, at least a foot in length. Holding the ribbed length in his hands, he rubs it to brush off the sand before holding it, aiming it towards Meloli and asking, “is this a treasure?”

| Meloli noticed the boy's reaction but didn't comment on it, there was no need to, the two of them were on the same page for the moment. As they continued to dig she allowed her mind to wander a bit, dreaming about all sorts of things they might find. She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice Jin walk away at first, she looked up and all of a sudden he was gone. Of course she didn't have to look far to find him tinkling in the distance, a sight that made her little cheeks turn pink and caused her to hide a giggle behind her hand. She'd seen her daddy do the same thing outside many times before but it was different to catch her friend in the act, it kind of made him more of a 'future daddy' in her mind, like she could see for the first time that he would really grow up and become something more than the little boy she loved so much. When he returned to her side at the hole's edge, Meloli tried to act like she hadn't even noticed... though her cheeks were turning a shade closer to purple with each passing breath... until she heard his shovel strike something solid. Her gasp was only slightly softer than his and as she dropped to her knees, she peered into the hole to watch as his hands unearthed the strange object. It was pretty... purple had always been one of her favorite colors... but she couldn't imagine what it would be used for. It didn't look like anything she'd seen before, none of Mommy's cooking toys looked like that, none of Daddy's tools did either, so the little girl was stumped when her friend asked if it counted as treasure. "I guess so, it came out of the hole and it's not anything we already have so I think it has to be treasure. What could it be? Is it a carved rock like the ones that guy sells at the market? You know, the ones he makes look like animals and stuff?" Since she hadn't touched it yet, she had little else to go on. "Does it kind of look like a lollipop to you? Maybe it's a rock carved to look like one?"

| “Ah, I see,” Jin says as he holds up the object and inspects it, “this came out of the hole so it must be treasure…” He wondered, “I wonder what type of pirate buried this deep here in this hole…” Hearing her last words, he shakes his head, removing that thought from the field of play. There was no way it could be a lollipop, those bulged more at one end. “I don’t think so,” he rejects before clarifying, “I think it’s more like a popsicle.” Of course, he would be referring more to a candy type popsicle rather than an actual ice one. Looking to her he says, “it’s pretty dirty… maybe we should clean it off.” He stands up, holding the thing gingerly in his hands and looks for a water source to clean it with. His eyes then come to the expansive sea that was just off to their side along the coastlines. With that, he begins to jog over in that direction. On reaching the water’s edge, he stops just at where the waves were coming in and lapping upon the shore. Lowering the member into the waters, he allows the water to wash up while using his hand to get most of the sand off of it; it was pretty easy considering. He thinks for a moment, “hey… purple is supposed to be grape, right?” He looks to her, “maybe it’s relic candy that never loses its flavor?”

| He had a point there. Lollipops were usually the big round ones while popsicles were longer like their treasure. "Oh, yeah." She agrees just before he suggests cleaning the object. Following him to the edge of the water, Meloli stays one step behind him just in case the treasure doesn't like water. Once the boy had the thing nice and clean, and made his suggestion about it possibly still retaining its original taste, she stepped forward and looked to him with an unsure expression. "Umm, maybe. I like the taste of grape so I'll try it if you want me to." Trusting her friend to not steer her wrong, the little girl settled her wide doe eyes on him and opened her cupid's bow mouth. Her tongue rests atop her bottom lip, waiting for him to move the object into position. She hoped he wouldn't try to shove the whole thing in at once, it looked way too big to fit inside the tiny O her parted lips made. If it was relic candy after all she figured it was super sized for big girls with huge mouths.

| Just when Jin was ready to try the relic candy for himself, he is stopped when Meloli offers to taste it. He decides that since girls would probably like fruity things better than males who should like meat more, that he would agree to her performing this oral inspection. As she gets into position with her mouth open for his large length, he looks between it and her mouth and wonders if it would fit. He wondered just how big the people’s mouths were in the ancient past. Since it was about double the size of any popsicle he had seen, he figured it must be a deluxe type, of course that was assuming that it was in fact relic candy. Since it was pretty big, he decided that he would have to be careful with it. Wielding it as skillfully as he could, he navigates the purple hardened length to her oral opening and inserts it securely into the confines of her mouth. Of course it might be easier to lick the thing if only a taste was needed, but the little boy in his made it so that he needed to make sure that it at least fit to the back of her through much like a puzzle piece should fit on a board.

| The object most definitely would not fit to the back of her throat, the things was far too large to even fit inside her mouth without causing permanent damage. As soon as he began to attempt the insertion of the phallus into her unripe opening the little girl began to cry out at the pain of having her lips stretched beyond capacity. The corners of her mouth, where her juvenile lips met, began to give way under the unnatural expansion. One side started to split, causing Meloli to screech loudly and jerk herself back away from the invading member. "Ow! It hurts!" She cried as her hand rose to inspect the few crimson droplets leaking from her barely torn skin. Her eyes welled with tears as she looked to her friend and shook her head. "It doesn't taste like grape, it tastes like salt and something icky. I don't think it is relic candy at all." The little girl was trying not to let the tears fall freely, she didn't think he hurt her on purpose and figured that he would feel bad if he made her cry, so she tried her best to be strong and not ruin the good day they had been having so far.

| On realization that he was hurting her, Jin immediately retracts the hardened length having misjudged the entry and sorry for doing so. Something catches his eye, however, when she bleeds from the side of her mouth. Much like someone staring into fire, his eyes remained transfixed on the blood while she spoke about it not tasting good at all. He comes out of this as she mentions that she didn’t think it was relic candy. Holding the erection in his left hand, he walks up to Meloli and wipes whatever tears might be on her cheek with, “I’m sorry, don’t cry.” He moves in closer and says, “hold still.” With that, he mimics what he had seen animals doing in the wild; when they were wounded, they often licked their wounds. His father explained that they did that in order to heal them. So using this logic, he leans in and licks the side of Meloli’s lip. He makes sure to be careful during the process to not rub too hard on the hurt skin, but makes sure to lick it thoroughly before moving back to inspect to make sure he did a good job. Hopefully that would be a little better than nothing.

| Meloli's face softened and she let out a quiet hiccup as he wiped the spilled tears from her cheek. That probably would have been enough to make it almost better but he did not stop there. When he told her to hold still she listened to him, trusting him fully once again and as always. It wasn't until the instant before his tongue met the injured side of her lip that she realized what he intended to do, and by that time it was too late to pull away or tell him to stop. She stood frozen, not only in shock but confusion as well, and let him lick the wound he had helped create. When he pulled back the little girl's face would be a mixture of confusion and wonder. "Thank you, it feels better now." She spoke softly as her hand rose to trace the line of his licking. "That was almost like what Mommy and Daddy do after we go to bed, but they aren't hurt when they do it." She wondered if that counted as a sort of practice for when they got big and he made her a mommy, they would have to do what Mommy and Daddy do a lot and Daddy always says that you have to practice at something to get to be any good at it.

| He still felt kind of bad about what happened even if he tried to make it better. With a nod, Jin understood that what he did was a good thing. He allows her to have some space as he listens to the fact that he did something that a mommy and daddy would do; that would automatically set it under the guise of practicing for adulthood, or as children say, ‘play house.’ Jin would make sure that she wanted to continue searching for treasure; but now that they found something and didn’t know what it was, that meant that perhaps maybe they should seek the guidance of an elder. Looking to Meloli in seriousness, Jin asks, “maybe we should take it to your mom? Maybe she’ll know what it is, or maybe even your dad?” Unlike the pirates, Jin wouldn’t want to bury the treasure that he’s found; he would want to see if maybe they could go into town and barter for some candy or something useful. If they knew if it were important or not, that would help in the bartering process. He would wait on the guidance from Meloli to decide how to move and also mention, “if you’re hurt, then we can stop?...”

| Part of the little girl wanted to go straight home to ask her parents what the odd looking thing that didn't taste very good could possibly be, but another part of her wanted to keep digging to see if anything else might be buried with or near it. Shaking her head, and casting a look back over toward the tree, she hooks a finger between her teeth while she thinks. "Umm... I'm not hurt anymore and I think Mommy or Daddy might could tell us what it is or if it is worth anything, but what if there is more stuff in the hole? What if the pirates buried a bunch of stuffs in there? That one could just be on the top of the pile. Do you wanna see if there's anything else in there before we go all the way back home?" Her mother would make them stay in and eat the midday meal if they returned to the house now, but if they inspected the hole for a little while longer to make sure they weren't going to leave anything behind they could start fresh the next time.

| As it would seem, curiosity would win over the current trauma in this case and Jin would come to expect this type of response from Meloli. She was an adventurer at heart, seemingly, more so than he was. With a nod, he would accept the terms about going back to the hole to look for more stuff. “Okay,” he confirms as he would see the point in continuing rather than going all the way back home. It would make sense to take all of their findings to the mother and father instead of things one at a time; to Jin it seemed more efficient. With that, he would continue holding the phallic object in his hand in making his way back over to the tree area expecting Meloli to follow along with him. Reaching the area, he would deem one of their buckets to be the ‘thing in which treasure is held’ and then move back to the hole that they were crouching at to see if there were anything else left in it. Making it there, he was surprised to see a few more things in said hole. There seemed to be a string of small packets containing something circular within them along with a bottle of some type of liquid that had a picture of fruit on it. “I think we’ve found a lot of treasure,” Jin would comment looking over to Meloli as there were still more things to find.

| Of course curiosity trumps trauma, have you met young Meloli? Adventure is pretty much the only reason the child wakes up at the ass crack of dawn damn near every morning and tries to drag poor, agreeable Jin all over the surrounding area. It would take a helluva lot more than a pathetically small split lip to send her running home to Mommy and Daddy. It would probably take something like severing a major blood vessel or breaking a very necessary bone to tear her away from an open treasure hole. While the boy is busy securing their as yet unknown treasure object in one of the buckets, Meloli bends down to gather some water in her cupped palms to wash away the blood. It was going to be bad enough showing up back at home with the scab forming at the corner of her mouth, she wasn't about to let her mother find dried blood on her hands too. The little girl would be lucky if the fretful mother allowed her to set foot outside unsupervised again before she grows breasts, there was no way she was going to risk having that being upped to when she gets married. After cleaning herself up as much as she feels necessary, which happens at precisely the same moment Jin mentions them finding 'lots of treasure', she scurries back over to the edge of the hole, drops to her knees, and begins to help her friend/brother empty the sandy earth of her baubles.

| With the treasures steadily being unearthed there was much to put into the bucket where the first object had already been placed. From the looks of things, it seemed as if the two children had really stumbled into a gold mine and that someone had stashed a good amount of stuff here. As Jin continued to dig, he even found a blanket and had some candles wrapped up in it as well as a small egg shaped dong, handcuffs and a small whip. The small whole that they had begun had managed to get much larger than it originally had been by the time they had unearthed everything from it. Jin continued to dig a bit longer to make sure that he hadn’t missed anything. When it looked as if they had unearthed the final object, Jin stands up and dusts off his hands. His knees were caked with sand and grit that had been compacted by his knee touching the ground area. There were trails of dirt and sand on his shirt and all over by now. When he was finished, he sat back on his rear and rested in a leaning back position propped up by his palms. With a sigh, he makes the comment, “we’ve certainly found a lot of treasure today. I wonder if the pirates will be mad that we found it.”

| Meloli couldn't believe what all was being pulled out of the hole. Jin was digging stuff out so fast that she was having trouble getting a good look at anything before something new was being added to the ever growing pile. Since the boy seemed to have things under control as far as relieving the hole of its treasure, she decided to move beside him and begin examining the multitude of odd things. Some of the objects looked mundane, like they might have once had some boring purpose... kinda like cooking utensils or basic tools do now... while some of the other stuff looked down right frightening. The strange metal bracelets that were linked together in the middle looked like an odd pair of manacles, the kind you see bad people wearing on their way to be punished in town. While digging through the pile Jin had made, about the same time he concluded that the hole was empty and sat back to rest after all of his hard digging work, Meloli picked up a cool metal ring. There was no adornment on the metal, like no shiny gems or pretty engravings to make her think a woman would wear it so she held it up, offering it to her treasure finding partner. "Here, you can have this. I think it's a bracelet made for a boy cause it doesn't have any pretty stuff on it and it looks like it would fit you." It did appear to be roughly the right size to fit over a small arm, but not quite big enough to fit onto the huge purple thingy they had already decided was not a popsicle.

Sliding it over his hand, it comes to rest on his wrist. He kind of looks at it and tilts his head happy to have something from her, even if they technically just found it. He really liked the fact that it was simple and not elaborate. It wasn’t that he didn’t like embroidered or girly things, but it was more like he preferred simple things when it came to designs. He preferred strong lines over curly and circular markings. After inspecting the ring that was given to him, Jin would proceed in straightening up the things that they had found. Since they had been digging outside, Jin was starting to get a little bit hungry, regretting the fact that he hadn’t fully finished off his breakfast. He would certainly enjoy lunch. As it would turn out, they would have more to walk back to the house then they had walked out here with. Jin makes the comment, “maybe we only need the bucket and the shovel next time…”

| Meloli beamed as she watched him not only accept the bracelet from her but smile and actually slide it onto his wrist. It made her feel good to give him something, even if it was something they had just dug out of the ground. It was not his and would be for however long he chose to keep it. She secretly hoped that would be forever, but understood even at this young age that forever was a very long time and not all things can be kept that long. Realizing that their load had doubled at almost the same time as he did, she nodded and smiled sheepishly to him after his comment. "Yeah, maybe I went a little nuts with the supplies, I wasn't sure what we need so I tried to think of everything. Next time shovels and buckets only, then if we do need something else we can go back for it at lunch." Speaking of food, her breakfast was fast dwindling in her little stomach too. Glancing over her shoulder in the direction of home she shrugs and asks if he is ready to be done treasure hunting for the day. She didn't want to admit to getting hungry for fear he would think her a pig or something for wanting food again, even if the sun was already high enough in the sky to signal midday.

Since they were about to head out, he would start putting the things that they have found on the blanket that he had stretched out earlier. Seeing the stuff wrapped up in the blanket before when he dug it up had given him the idea that it would be easier to carry things in one large lump. It would also be nice if they were to come up a wheelbarrow or something. Jin makes the comment, “maybe we can barter some of this for a cart or wagon…” After getting together many of the items, being able to carry the bulk of them in his arms so that Meloli wouldn’t have to worry about carrying too much, Jin would hoist them and begin walking in the direction of their house. He didn’t think there was any reason to fill the hole back in, it would just let the pirates know that there was no reason to search there and be an indicator of the children’s conquest as well.

| Watching the little boy gather up their treasures and wrap them in the blanket, the little girl feels a few pangs of guilt. She hadn't really pulled her weight today, she'd let him shovel the sand and dirt to begin the hole, then she'd barely helped him unearth the treasures with her hands once the shovels were of no more use, and now she was standing by while he took the initiative and packed up their impressive haul. Vowing to be more help and less of a hindrance next time they came out seeking treasure, she gathered what supplies he had left for her to carry and followed him back along the beach toward home. His suggestion to barter some of the items for a cart or wagon had been missed during her internal monologue concerning her shameful performance and ways to make up for it later.

His head would tilt to the side as he would inquire, “Meloli?...” Just in case she hadn’t heard him, he ventures forth, “so do you like the idea…” Since it was very likely that she wouldn’t know what he was talking about, he would clarify, “…about trading some of the items for a cart?” After having time to repeat his question, he actually had more to add to it in the form of, “and maybe a horse to carry the wagon…” His voice trails off with that last part. They didn’t have pets, but he wondered how cool it would be if they had a mounted beast of their own which could be used for traveling, hauling things and sleeping on. With a horse, then the possibilities could be endless. With that, Jin started to see how treasure hunting and bartering could be a pretty useful thing, but he wondered if the treasures that he had would amount to being able to purchase a horse.

| When Jin turned to ask if she liked some idea while she followed behind him on the way home, the little girl's forehead would crinkle in confusion. She hadn't heard any idea so she had no clue what he was talking about. Thankfully she didn't have to ask him to repeat his suggestion, he volunteered the information readily. Listening as her head cocks slightly to one side, she thinks about what he is asking about a cart and possibly a horse, Meloli isn't quite sure how she should answer that. Carts and horses had never really occurred to her, she'd always imagined they would continue to make do with buckets, had never imagined finding enough treasure at one time to warrant the need of a cart. Maybe when they grew older and stronger, smarter about finding treasure rich places, they would find enough to make his ideas necessary... or maybe she just was thinking locally and needed to start thinking globally. "I don't know Jin. Do you think we will ever find enough treasure to fill a cart? It would make things easier if we do ever find more than will fit in our buckets or a blanket. Maybe we should ask Mommy and Daddy about it when we ask them about these things we found today. I'm sure they would know"

He comments, “yeah, that’s right…” In his mind, he rejected his own idea thinking that it might have been dumb to think that they could have a beast of burden to accompany them. He didn’t know where he had gotten the idea and scoffed the idea that they could have had a large and strong steed, much like a mustang only more powerful… then with that mustang, he would need something to fight with, so the beast thing given his power would be a slender lance like horn. Obviously that would be the most manly creature ever spawned to the cosmos… but that was all a childish delusion. Jin continues to walk towards the house while carrying the things in his arms not really saying anything from this stage on. If Meloli were to speak, he would of course respond to her, but if she did not say anything, he would not initiate any conversation at this point in time.

She had filled her little mind with dreams of building an expansive collection of treasures for all the world to envy and admire... but then Jin suggested trading some (maybe even all) of their first discoveries for more useful items. Meloli had to admit to herself that the suggestion made sense if they were to continue this treasure hunting thing but at the same time it popped her pretty little dream bubble and made her kind of sad. Speaking half to Jin and half to herself, she begins to murmur softly a step or two behind him. "A cart or wagon and horse would make it easier for us if we keep finding stuff like this. I just didn't think about what we would do with the treasure after we found it. I guess it was kinda babyish to think we could keep everything we find forever. Bartering for better supplies is probably the best way to go..." She trails off and stares out over the water as they approach the stretch of beach their home overlooked in sort of a moment of silence for her pretty little dream bubble.

Jin continues, “I’m sure it’s no fun if we give everything away for more things… or something like that…” He didn’t know what to say, so he decided to just be quiet for a while as they continued to walk. In his thoughts he wondered what type of praises they would get from the parental figures of the household with the treasures they brought back. It could be assumed that the parent’s wouldn’t think that they would even find anything; how surprised they would possibly be to see that they had found a lot of loot simply by exploring. Jin looks back to Meloli for a moment before shifting his gaze to the sea that was to the side. Looking at it for a moment, he makes the off comment, “I’ll go with you and do whatever you want for as long as I’m here…” This would be a vague eluding to the fact that he would one day leave.

| Meloli stays quiet through most of what the boy had to say, though she did respond with nods when he agreed that they didn't have to give everything away. It made her feel considerably better knowing they could keep some of what they found and wouldn't have to trade it all for other supplies. She could still build that collection for the world to admire someday, now she would just have to find a little more treasure to make up for whatever they ended up trading. When they were almost back home her friend spoke again, vowing to go with her do what she wanted for as long as he is there. At first this brings a smile to her warm honey eyes, she liked the idea of him caring enough to say that, but then a shadow seems to darken her face briefly. Of course he would leave someday, all boys grow up and go away from home to make their new families, but just a few hours ago he had said he would make her a mommy when he got big enough to be a daddy. Had he already changed his mind? Did her not helping him enough make him think she would be a bad mommy? Turning to him, fighting to keep the sting of tears out of her eyes until they were safely home, she releases her soft spoken question onto the wind. "Ok. But we can do things you want to do too, it doesn't only have to be what I want... but when you say 'as long as you are here', do you mean that you don't want us to be a mommy and daddy together anymore?" Her lip began to quiver at the final words but she managed to keep all the threatening tears safely confined within her eyelids for the time being.

| Jin understands where the misunderstanding is when she speaks and shakes his head. He answers her, “no, it doesn’t mean that. I might have to go do something, but I’ll come back and make you a mommy. It will be before the time I’m ready to be a daddy, so I can get it out the way…” That would be about all he would have to say on that matter. The voice inside of him head would scold him for saying too much and cause him to be quiet. In order to sooth the voice in his head, he would comply with its wishes. He would return his attention to the house and continue walking in that direction; his tone would suggest that the conversation was over and that he had said enough. Eventually, he would approach the house and reach the area where the door was. Attempting to open the door, he wouldn’t be able due to the fact that his hands were full. He would pause and turn to look at Meloli as if visually asking her to open the door for him, but if she weren’t coming, he would pause and attempt to see what the matter was before proceeding.

| Her only verbal response to his clarification on the misunderstanding is a cheery "ok" followed by companionable silence for the remainder of their short trek home. She as once again at ease now that she knew he hadn't changed his mind in the short hours since voicing the promise, and she was pretty sure that she could survive without him for however long it took him to get whatever it was that he needed to get out of the way before making her a mommy. When they reached the house she would walk up to the door behind him and wait to be let in since he got there first. When he turned to give her the unspoken 'will you open the door' look, she blushed and lowered her head sheepishly because she should have been paying better attention or at least remembered that his hands were more full than hers. Shifting her stuff to one arm, she reaches past him and turns the knob to open the door, then she steps back to let him in first. He did have the bigger load after all. "Mommy, Daddy! Come look at what we found." Meloli's happy shout would fill the house as they enter and bring her parents to the front sitting room where they would be ready to lavish praise on both children for finding what they expect to be nothing more than oddly shaped or colored rocks.
