“And in the garden they knew nothing of sin, nothing of shame. There was passion but in that passion there was no wrong. For they ere one with their father. Present not absent. They could speak and walk with him in that garden of their dreams. But then came the thorns. The serpent. And to them was brought iniquity. Forever cast out into the shadows”.~ Desperation and Trials
The dawn was but the beginning of the story for many, and the end for even more. But there were some stories that one would not have expected to begin in certain ways, and yet there they are in the shadow of what one would see as the rising of the sun. One such story was the beginnings of the woman who would become the Queen of Mare Maris. Like many creatures, she awakened after the dawn, but it was in a place that she did not belong. A place that was most unfortunate for her to end up in. Most Kami after the dawn had awakened in the place that they would call home, the celestial realm, a place where they would help one another rebuild. Where they would decide to protect what they could from the world below. To explore to love to help. The queen however didn’t begin here. Nor did she begin in Terra.
Her story began in the depths of the most horrible of places. Deep within the broken realm once known as Onitoshi. In the battle before the dusk, many of the Kami had fought to protect their home using what skills they had when the demons from the hells gate began to invade their home. But the end result for many had been death, For others it had been worse, dropping down from the skies above in the battle and falling into the pits of the hells gate. Normally had things gone well, this may have resulted in them fighting their way back out. Or a swift death upon entry by the hundreds of demons waiting to get themselves a piece of kami ass. But it just so happened that when the Queen and her troops fell through the gate. At that very moment. Everything came to an abrupt and violent end.
And when she awakened. She would be in a place far different from what she would have liked to see. From what other Kami had see-
---
Blinked. Fluttering eyes on the edge of consciousness. Like a waking dream, not quite sure where, how who or what. But within that idea of oblivion there was a sense of self. Eyes closed again. Embracing the warmth of sleep. But it wouldn’t last long. Screams tore over that serene sleep of hers. Screams of things that could never be described as human, pain. Death screams. All such things that a new life, a new memory was now baptised in. Oppression. But she was thankfully not the only one to be born into this mess. Not the only one like her.
Other winged ones, other kami had fallen in the same place she was. Not all were so lucky. Some were unlucky enough to land in the lava pits. Others upon spiked spires. But there was a group that had fallen into the land, a crevices of a ruined building. Those there like her knew that there was danger. And despite memories, words being long gone. There was safety in familiarity. The Kami approached the outside. A group of five including the queen. What they saw there was a sight that was beyond the ideas of men. A time to which only demons remember.
In the dawn there was chaos everywhere. But none so great as that in the place of chaos. When the demons awakened. In their rage in their evil in their confusion. They lashed out at one another. There was a time when the underworld was not just a simple desolate wasteland. There was a time when its plains were filled with bodies. Each one awakening from the effects of the dawn. Each one rising only to strike another down. It was a slaughter. And that is what met their eyes. Rivers of blood from demons who knew nothing but their base instinct. Who killed for the simple sheer assurance that they were in fact real. That their hunger for death could be satisfied. To take out the frustration of not being able to know what had came before. It was an image that would scar the mind. A carpet of bodies all cutting biting and slashing one another in to what was, a completely unknowable rage. The Kami made their way across the plains of what was now dubbed as Barathrum Regnum.
Trying to make their way out of the dark realm. Trying to find any glimmer of hope that there was a way to escape this hellish nightmare. But their searching was in vein, one by one the numbers of the group began to dwindle. One died in a demon attack, another a plain accident. The next, suicide over hopelessness. Till finally it was just the would be queen and her last companion. Wordless, in a land of nightmares. Just when all hope seemed to fail. The two uncovered a cavern within the dark land, the cavern would appear to be the root of their hopes. A light at the end of a very dark tunnel. In this place it would seem that the dense and oppressive air that permeated all of Barathrum Regnum was somehow diluted in here, the further that they moved in the less of a weight seemed to be pressed upon their shoulders. The cooler the air seemed to become. With dried cracked lips, and darkened eyes. The two Kami finally emerged from the horrors of hell, and into Terra. Which by comparison seemed like a paradise. There were no monsters here. Well, none that hit with tooth and claw. But that was something they were yet to discover. It was here that they first found water. That they first found words. And in those waters, washed away was the dust of the past. A thirst for freedom. Finally quenched.
---
“In the garden there were things that were forbidden. Fragments of what the fathers knew. Fruit of the gods. Power forbidden to all. And so the serpent came and his name was CHAOS. And he did tell them of ways to become an equal to god. To tempt them to the fragments. To tempt them with iniquity. And so came the dusk of the garden, the end of dreams. The gods would not bare an equal from their childer. And so to the wastelands they were brought. Here in the wastes, they did meet the shadow. And his name was DEATH, and he taught them of their wrong doings. For he had never known the grace of the garden. A lord of the wastes were he had been so long his body had rotted. So long the rot had crumbled to dust. So long that the dust had long since become the sands of the wastes. And quickly, the children forgot”~ Desperation and Trials
----
Like flowers to the sun, the children of the realm of man did flock to the would be queen. She healed, she blessed. And brought with her the grace and beauty she had been long denied in the lower realms. And they did treat her as a goddess. As a mother. And things began to grow around her. Happiness. Acceptance was hers. To her companion she did make a royal guard. And when she was pronounced queen, the ruler of the people. She built her city next to waters, for those had been her liberation. Her freedom. And from her new home she could see those waters, to be eternally thankful for the blessing that they brought. At first Mare Maris was little more than a village, then a town. There was no need for swords and shields nor destructive magic. In the first years of the cities founding it became known as a holy place. The queen and her followers would heal those that came, and in seeking for the healing, those that witnessed it did stay. Quickly it grew around her. But like all things. The larger the light, The bigger the shadow that it casts.
The Queen had seen the evils of this world, they however were far out weighed in her eyes by the good. For she had been a creature who had experienced the darkest of the dark. And not even the darkest things of man could compare to that place that now and again, still showed up within dreams of dreams. But she was not the only one to emerge from that pit. So too began the story of the pophet. A creature whose very mystery lied in his connection with the so called fragments of the old world. The pages of the book of creation. And an utmost mystery it does remain, at his side marching from the pits he brought with him legions of the demonic horde. Corrupting and tainting the south western forest far beyond what it should have been in those early days. Its proximity to the place of fiends would have been bad enough. Had things not crawled out, and made that place their home. To spread out roots, and conduct their plans for this world. And this is where our story begins. To the east, the light. The Innocent Queen of Mare Maris, the centre, the core, medius. The Dark king and his minions. The West, the prophet and his legions of Onikonjou ready to unleash chaos and enlightenment upon the world. A world divided. Carved out among three rulers.
----
South West Forest Region: The Black Citadel, 1 year prior
“ We have tried my lord, yet it is not appearing to be as easy as we first anticipated!”.
The black council had formed. Thirteen seats in an enclosed circled room, at one edge of the circle, a throne larger than the others. Upon it sat the Prophet. Robed, a crow sitting on either shoulder. Watching and listening to the reports of his most “ trusted” servants. The council had been attempting to spread their influence through the lands, spreading out from the west and into Medius. However it became quite clear that once they hit the zone known as the core they weren’t going to be travelling any further. No matter the strength of numbers that seemed to be sent in nothing that went into that area returned alive. So, if you couldn’t go through something then you had to go around it, so they did precisely that. Spreading around the core and into the lands that belonged to the southern tribes and the coastal regions. But their influence was not spreading with their minions. The initial idea had bee to use the influence of humans against them. Persuade them to make deals. Seduce their women. But for some reason in particular the east, they were meeting heavy resistance. Certain members of the human race were giving into their temptations easily but others were not. And the prophet wanted to know why. He rapped his claws upon the obsidian carved chair.
“ Why is it that we are facing such stern resistance from the other humans? What is it that is impeding our efforts?”.
Ultimately the less humans that were under their influence then the less they would hear. The less they heard then the less chance of finding one of the pages was. And the Prophet would not tolerate such things. The pages would be needed for his plan, and the lack of them only opened up chances for others to find them, which would only impede his efforts further. One of the thirteen seats spoke, a rather ugly fellow who resembled a stone like monstrous gargoyle. Albeit with one of his arms being withered and ingrown. “ From the reports I hear my lord Prophet, there are many who believe that a divine being has come down among them...it seems to be the influence of this...eastern star...that is turning people away from the temptations of darkness and more towards the light”. This, was troubling. The Kami were beginning to interfere in things. Had they foresaw his plan? Had they too guessed just what he was up to? He grumbled under his breath and began to think on a way to dam the flow of how things were currently heading. And then it struck him. “ Has this eastern star officially developed any kind of religion?”. There were discussions among the council for a few brief moments before there was a resounding “ no” coming from the one with the withered arm. “ Not that t we are aware of. We know that she is their monarch, but not a goddess”. And this was where it became interesting. The Prophet had an idea of just how to use this kind of thing against the humans.
“ Very well then, we shall change our plan of action, gather our followers, spread the word that this monarch is chosen by the gods, Using this idea we will then gather her followers, grow in popularity....we shall commit acts of charity, feed the helpless, care for the sick and give shelter to the homeless”. There was confusion among most of the ranks of the black council. All bar the one who seemed to be doing the majority of their speaking. The one with the withered arm. “ Feed them poison and tell them that its fruit...a most excellent idea Lord Prophet...However , if we are to start a religion, a following among the people. They shall need holy words, a doctorate to follow”. The Prophet stood to his feet, the crows on his shoulder taking flight and circling the roof of the chamber with an incandescent cawing. “ The words I shall provide, simply ensure that you bring the flesh”.
----
And so it was done, over the year the demons took the form of en, took the form of kami. And spread the “ divine word”. They lured in the followers of the Queen, seemingly no threat to her reign, but rather a people running a successful promotional campaign. After luring in those followers with their good deeds and words of praise for the Queen, the emphasis of the religion shifted more from her and onto the “ will of the gods”. This will, successfully scrawled down in a holy book written by the prophet and a hand scrawled copy given to each and every chapel that had spread throughout the lands of Terra. And the prophets plan was strangely successful. The people ever since the dawn had been looking for an answer. A reason for their existence and here came in the prophet with his book of words and many followers, warped and twisted creatures put into the shells of divine and beautiful forms.
The prophet had his devout and began making the structure of the organisation. His direct followers would be those who were demons, below them were the human recruits. These were to be the main face of the church. They would be those that recruited others. They would be those who could not be suspected to be spirits. Those who honestly believed in the good works of their religion. Below them, the basic followers. The ignorant masses. And the religion was growing more each and every day. The prophets power base expanding each and every day, infecting the whole of Terra, bar the zone known as medius. It was not farfetched to say that the Prophet and his followers were instrumental in the spread of rumours concerning the dark king and the forsaken land known as the core. Particularly the rumours which concerned the moments of the dark king and his army of darkness. When things began to move out of Medius. It began to worry the council of the prophet greatly. Threatening their power base. A meeting was called to discuss the threat, and deal with it appropriately.
---- A week before the events of MoTDK
The sound of banging, mild like the knocking of a door resounded throughout the black citadel as the prophet moved down the hallowed halls of his base of operations. The Black citadel in the early days had been a hasty construction, but over time had been improved using magic and good craftsmanship. The stone of Trra was fine and smooth but lacked the strength, and the intimidation factor that he liked. So, building near the ways to hell gave its usefulness a new edge. He was able to draw up stone from deep within Barathrum Regnum and build himself a fortress worthy of the demonic horde. Of course, magic helped with that. Onikonjou were not always known as the best workers. Slaves to fear and temptation perhaps. But workers. No. The outside of the Citadel appeared to be something out of a nightmare. Black rough stone lining the walls, with orange coals that seemed to glow as if under constant heat jutting out here and there. The inside of the Citadel was slightly more refined. The walls, black Onyx, the floors. Obsidian glass. The floors in particular were an idea of the prophet. The obsidian reflected the person walking much like a mirror. And with some magical fine tuning, he had converted the floor to a sor of draining mirror. Whoever walked down it, if they looked at their own reflection. Would have their strength sapped. All except the prophet himself of course, it was one way of keeping the peons in line.
The council had been called, and he had been called to oversee it. A task whih The Prophet did not find to be a good use of his time. At the moment most of his attention was spent overlooking the progress of the religion, which of course had a subtask of searching for the fragments, the pages. But thus far, there had been nothing. Yet despite the use of resources with what was at the moment very little come back. The Prophet did not think it to be a foolish investment. Zealots had their uses, and eyes and ears everywhere had even more. A sly sneer as the Prophet pushed open the doors to the council chamber. The council members already sat, each of their eyes ( some more than two per head) watching him intently. As he moved through the circle. To the large chair at the back. Taking his seat, he raised a hand. And gave permission for the council to convene the meeting. One of the multi eyed council members seemed to be the first to speak up. “ It is good to see you Lord Prophet. It had been some time since any of us have had the honour of being graced by your presence”. The prophet could not yet determine whether the words of this council member were sincere or sarcastic. Really it could go either way with some of these members. It had been true though the last time any of these council members had actually seen him in person was the meeting all those months ago concerning the founding of the religion. His tiem ever since then had mostly been taken up in writing up the doctrine of this religion and of course keeping the information lines flowing concerning the locations of the fragments. The Prophet merely gave the slightest of nods, and acknowledgement that could honestly go either way. He wouldn’t be seen to rise to sarcasm or be overly penitent concerning areas of respect.
On of he other council members spoke up, this one however didn’t look as if he belonged. Flowing golden hair, white wings at his back For all intents and purposes this one looked like a Kami. But the Prophet knew that this was merely just an illusion to fool the masses. Likely this council member was one of the “ Grand Clerics” of the new religion. Taking on the appearance of a kami to fool those into believing that they wre indeed holy. Although it was surprising, when he spoke. The Prophet was bemused that he knew precisely who this one was. “ Lord Prophet”. Said the Kami like council member. By his voice the Prophyet had identified him as the oni who had the appeareance that struck him as awfully simi, lar to a gargoyle. Which was rather amusing considering his current form. “ There have been whisperings in the villages of the faithful that a dark force had begun its movement towards the west, the dark force merging from Medius”. A dark force? The Prophet could only assume that such a thing came from the forsaken land of the core. That place had for the most part remained a relative mystery to everyone. In the sage areas of Medius you could see the ruins and relics of what had came before. And yet like the monkey trying to catch the moon, one could never touch it, and trying to do so would end up getting you drowned in whatever dark power called that place its home. And if it was emerging, and moving West. Then that meant it was quite possible that whatever was heading that way was going to be coming in a rather close proximity to the south western forest. Which meant far too close to their seat of power. And it seemed that his thoughts reflected those of the entire council. They all began mumbling among themselves debating upon how to deal with this problem. The majority view on the problem seemed to be to form up the demoni legions and march against whatever was heading westward. But the Prophet did not agree on this. The action would draw attention to them, and since they were currently tryingto remain seen by the world as an inactive threat due to their spread of the religion. They could not afford such a clear cut display of power.
“ We cannot march against them”.
He said. His voice sounding out throughout the chamber. “ It would destroy the efforts we have made in our current goals, drawing attention and suspicion where we cannot afford any...our plan of action should be this...first off....I doubt that these movements have escaped the sights of those within Mare Maris either. We should be watching the political climate of these areas and act depending upon the feelings of those within”. The were nods of agreement. An orange haired Onikonjou spoke up. “ My lord...I am the cleric within the parish of Mare Maris....you are correct, there have been rumblings concerning the movement of this darkness...however as they are moving westward and have presented no direct threat to Mare Maris...the Queen had determined that they are currently not a threat, and will not take pre-emtive action”. The Prophet had expected as much, whilst these thigns were just rumours at the moment, they did have many prominent members of Mare Maris government within their faithful. So it was creditable. Going off that and the sheer disgusting innocence of the queen. He knew it was likely they would not be the aggressors in any kind of war between them and anyone else.
“ Very well if this is the case then what we must do is remain hidden, silent, but form an opposition to cut off the dark force and its march westward”
The Prophet placed his hand below his cowl and stroked at the chin underneath, thinking carefully. “ The church should praise the Queen’s peace keeping efforts. But at the same time urge caution among the faithful...we must make them wary of the darkness....keep rumours up and news concerning its progress and make them readily available” Finally and more importantly came the Prophets final plan of action. “ No doubt that most of you would have heard of the Dragon Slayers”. It was the name of a rag tag group that had been circulating about a particular region after a town had came under assault from a rampaging dragon. Dragons were rare creatures, rare and powerful. The average human or indeed spirit didn’t stand much of a chance against the tyrant lizards. “...Ensure that those who own property and live within the areas that the dark force is in the path of are aware of its movements...in particular...make aware those who were known to have slain the dragon weeks ago of just what is happening...if we have people with strength like that...then it may be possible to turn its tide elsewhere without interfering ourselves”.. More discussion among the group. But it seemed that after it they all came to agree with the logic of the prophet. Those who defeated the dragon were powerful and likely would provide more of an offense against the dark march that was no doubt coming down upon them all..

In the City of Mare Maris
Ever since the rise of the dawn Uriel had been with her. And that was his mission, his purpose in life. To be with her and to protect her. She HAD his heart, even if he did not have hers. Which was why he had to do certain things fro her which she could not do. This little meeting being one of them. Uriel was the Queen’s right hand man. She at times, was the perfect example of a ruler. Kind, merciful, fair. But unfortunately, these things were not always the best virtues of a ruler. Even though technically the city was still in his boom growth period, problems had already cropped up from all sides. Evils that one could not really deal with if you only had the merciful option available to you. These problems had quickly became a thorn in the side of the Queen in the early days. Which is why Uriel decided to take matters onto himself and establish the Gestalt group. The queen was the spirit of Mare Maris. The message to the outside world that not everything had to be dark and cold. That the sun did indeed rise in the east. The Queen herself a radiant beacon of good. A healer who walked among he people. The Gestalt. And Uriel. They were the body of Mare Maris. The thing that defended the soul. Whilst Gestalt covered the military forces of Mare Maris. It also encompassed its more shady side of things. The military dealt with the direct threats, and for the most part the Queen determined just what those threats were. The military, were defensive. Not offensive. So its main use in battle was seen against ether bandits or dark spirits that sought to invade and subvert. This was Eisen Gestalt(Iron Body. The other side of things was the group that he mostly took handle of, the one that even the Queen didn’t know about. Assassinations. Covert operations, trafficing with...powerful entities. These were the tasks of Verstect Gestalt(Hidden Body). His side of the Gestalt was essentially the secret police of Mare Maris.
And they were very good at their jobs. The majority of those that actually belonged to his section of the Gestalt group were actually masquerading as members of the public. Merchants, peasants. Ones from all walks of life. It made for effective social cover. The assassinations, dealt with as accidents. And in the past fifteen years no one had suspected that they even existed. Today, was another one of those dark things that he had to deal with that the Queen could enver have her hands sullied in. The dungeons built underneath the cities. In the sewers. A holding cell for some of their darker activities. Rigorous interrogation. A couple of weeks ago a dark force had came to Mare Maris iand had started spreading levels of disease and discord among the good people. And Uriel was determined to get to the bottom of this little indiscresion. Most of these spirits who played the part of these rumour mongers were simply just pawns for greater powers greater owers that would ultimately then be taken care of for the preservation of the peace and for Mare Maris. Torture had been going on for several days now, and whilst you wouldn’t expect the holiest of places on Terra to bethe home of expert torture masters. The Inquisitors of the Gestalt were masters of pain.
They knew how to tweak people, find their weaknesses. Exploit them and even manipulate their feelings into making the torture victim think that they were in the company of friends who wanted to help them be relieved of the burden that came with the truth. It was rather amusing thing to see ven as dark as it sounded coming from one of his own kind. He pushed open the door and the hooded inquisitor was looking up at the rack with what looked like an onion in his hand. A bucket of water at his feet and a balloon. It was...disturbing. One of the things about these inquisitors was that they had long ago disposed of what you would call the more traditional methods of torture and had instead started playing a little game among themselves. Giving each other three random items and seeing what kind of horrific methods they could come up with. And Uriel knew just what they could do with these seemingly harmless items.
“ Lord Uriel”.
Spoke the hooded man in the room with the balloon in his hand. “ We have discovered that the root cause of this mans misdeeds lies within things that he has seen....”. Uriel raised an eyebrow. Things that he had seen? Discord and rumour mongering certainly could be brought about by sight alone. But disease? Were they unconnected? Had he made a mistake? “ What things has he seen?”. The Inquisitor approached the Oni male on the rack and touched his cheek in what would be seen an a serene and caring manner. “ This one has been in the core it would seem...the horrors that he saw there have tainted him beyond the level of normal Onikonjou, yet he is no threat beyond that taint....his mind has been snapped by what has been seen...his corruption is not to be malicious to others...not anymore....but where he steps....the corruption will spread”. Uriel took a step closer. Indeed, there was something different about this spirit. He wasn’t like the normal Onikonjou. Therew as something else in there swimming with the usual corruption. Something below the surface. “ Tell me”. Uriel said. “ What did he see within the core?”. There was silence as the inquisitor let out a deep sigh, stroking the cheek of his victim. Uriel had a great curiosity concerning the things of the core. The gestalt had previously tried to send agents within to see just what kind of things lived there, to see if there was anything within the centre of medius that presented any real threat to them. But ultimately the answer had been kept from him. For the thigs within the core clearly did not wish to be discovered. For every agent he sent, he received nothing, not even a word of hei death. It was as if they simply ceased to exist. He felt for the families of those who died in service to the secret agency of the gestalt group. Those who had children, wives, could not be given any kind of help or compensation despite how much Uriel wished to grant it to them. For to do so would make others question just why they were receiving benefits that others were not. It would eventually come to the queens attention and no doubt risk the integrity of the entre group.
“ I think that is a question best answered by our poor demented friend here...”.
Uriel wondered if the inquisitor was being awkward or if truely the question was best answered by the damned soul in front of him. The right hand man of the Queen leaned over the bloodied ruined body of their prisoner and whispered. “ Tell me of what you saw”. The eyes of the prisoner shot open, they were blank white, as if he had been blinded. He started whisoering and Uriel could barely make out a word until he drew himself closer to the madded secrets of the victim. “.....See upon the bloodied bone streaked road a balack mass of writhing death....it screams and walks upon the dead who are the ones that lie before for nothing does stand away only in the light do they be slowed. In the dark do they now rule in the core do they now see, a man on throne a man once been, a man brings pain, to be his rule”. Giggling. Madness. Then weeping. “ Kill kill kill....there will be nothing left....they will consume us all...no escape...none....just lie down and be among the dea, drown ourselves in the soil we may do....hehehehehehahahahaha urgh...>”> More senless giggling combined with the weeping. It was a horrible sight. The inquisitor continued to stroke the cheek of the mad Oni in front of him and it seemed to bring some simple comfort towards the man. It became ultimately clear that whatever pain the hooded Gestalt member had inflicted upon the demon was in no way equal to the pain that he suffered merely by living. This show of affection was not false. But out of true sympathy that he could not cause any level of agony that matched it.
Uriel turned. Physically sick. “ Put him out of his misery...”. Teh Inquisitor nodded and bowed. “ Yes my lord...as you have said....but know that before...he spoke of that writhing mass moving along westward....the bone streaked road he called it...”. Uriel nodded.
“I will report this to the Queen and see what her action will be”.
II
Two days had passed since that disturbing event in the holding cell. Since the Onikonjou causing the issues had been taken care of. But by the looks of it just like before the oni had only been the symptom of a much larger problem. One that had to bereported directly to the queen Whatever darkness had lain sleeping within the core was now beginning to stri, and it was moving out westward. The Kami could only be glad that it was not moving towards Mare Maris. Such things were small blessings however, and ti only emant that it gave them time to either attack pre-emptively or prepare for an attack themselves. Uriel of course had to think of a way to get this thin out in the open. As of yet only a few people knew of the mans mad ramblings and that was limited to the few that had heard him and ultimately dismissed him before he had been picked up by the members of the Verstect Gestalt And now Uriel had to make these md remablings more common knowledge. So he sent out his members and had them spread the word of this dark army. And it seemed that he was no alone in this. Whether it was coincidence ore mere happenstance the church seemed to be helping with this. They were a world spreading religion and apparently some of their clerics were receiving horrible reports from the west. Many of them were actually coming to him and begging for the Queen to do something. It was a thing that brought a smile to hsi face. The church had influence among the people. It was going to be easier to get the queen into taking action rather than retaining her usual normal passive nature about things like this. With his collective reports on the rumours and the written pelas from the church in hand he marched into the throne room quite intent on seeing if he could get the Queen to give the go ahead on taking action and marching West with the Eisen Gestalt.
The chambers of the queen wern’t really what you would call grant, she was after all a woman of the people and whilst she wore and did have certain things that were givent o her due to her status for the most part she tried to make it so that the majority of her riches were spent on the poor. In Uriels opinion this was the perfect way to be a leader. Not to rule the people, but to serve them. Both to make their lives better and to serve their best interests. “ Uriel”. Spoke the Queen. She was a radiant figure. Long glowing golden hair that reached down to her back. A porcelain face that looked as if it had endured no hardship. A petite frame of a young woman. Despite this, Uriel knew just what she had endured. And respected her all the more for having coming through it as she was. She stood and approached him, hands held out in front her. Then collapsed around his cheeks, slender arms resting against his chest and shoulders. She cupped his face, and kissed his forehead in a traditional greeting that was common to the both of them. He took his own hands, palcing them over hers. Removing them one at a time, planting a kiss gently on the bck of each. “ My Queen”. He said, kneeling before her as he finished. His followers taking kneel after him. She laid her hand upon his head and spoke in that gentle hypnotic voice of hers. “ Stand Uriel, you know that you need not bow to me”. Uriel stood, but shrugged as he did so. “ Formalities must be kept my lady”. He gestured over to a long rectangular table in the chamber, each took their seats. The Queen at one end of the table and Uriel at the other. The Queens attendents took the right side of the table and Uriel’s followers the left.
“ I bring news from the people, and pleas from the church.... A dark force has arisen in the west emerging from the forsaken core....it is said that this force moves further west towards the great forests, as of yet its purpose is undefined...however any who have seen or stood in its way are either dead or mad....the church has many followers fleeing for their lives from the homes that are in the path of the dark march.....and the people are looking to us to ensure their protection...”.
The queen’s brow furrowed. She never did like conversations concerning any sorts of military matters, for the most part she left everything concerning the Gestalt’s to him. But anything concerning actual action, he needed her authority on it. And he hated to ay, but it was a difficult thing for him to get. “ Has this dark march shown any indications of harming our people?”. And there was the question that he had expected. To the outsider it would seem selfish. Self preservation. The truth simply was that the Queen did not want to be an aggressor. And the stories from the great forest indicated that a great many demon followers lived out there. And whilst she was all too willing to help them if they came to her, well. There was always the chance that those evil people had done something to anger those that lived in the core. By helping the guilty, Mare Maris would only be involving itself, and putting its people at an unnecessary risk. “ As of yet, no”. The Queen folded her hands in front of her and let out an apologetic smile.
“ I’m sorry Uriel but we cannot take an aggressive stance on this, thus far the force, be it dark or no has not turned its head towards Mare Maris, for all we know there may indeed be a good reason for these actions. And by moving in pre-emptively we risk our people in a foolhardy venture that we know nothing about”.
Uriel could see where she was coming from, but her nature was unfortunately blinded by her naivety. She wouldn’t take a risk based on good fact, and wasn’t willing tom bend to the will of her people or the pleas of the church if it meant some misguided sense of preservation. “ However that’s not to say that I won’t authorise the increase in defensive measures, you may increase our border forces as well as place more of the men scout patrol just n case there is any sign of suspicious activity around the borders and within our lands”. He didn’t expect pre-emptive action from her, defence was going to be the best that he was going to get from her. So he would take it, frowning on the inside but nodding graciously on the out. She looked to the table however, a tired look to her face. “ I know this was not the answer that you wanted Uriel, and I know that I have been....unhelpful...in the past...but I cannot be seen as an aggressor by the people of Terra... already there are people within our ranks that seek to destroy me...those that distrust spirits and would rather us dead or returned to our own realm....this is my home, and I cannot afford to give them ammunition”. Uriel nodded. “ I understand my queen”.
What he really meant and wanted to say of course was that, yes he understood her position. But being overly passive was as much weakness to these people as being overly aggressive. To be seen as a door mat would make her appear to be a weak leader if anything indeed did go wrong. But thus far it had not, and it was all too lucky for her that it hadn’t. Well luck was one word. Intervention by the secretive members of the Gestalt group had been another more accurate description. Uriel had watched over her from day one, and would continue to do so, but she was making it eternally difficult to do even that anymore. And that is what he didn’t like. With a brief nod, he stood. She looked back up at him as his servants followed suit. He bowed, and she merely stared at him with sad eyes. Did she feel guilty for being like this? Did she not wish to deny him? Or was it something else entirely that was bothering her. He couldn’t really think about it at the moment. He had defences to arrange Turning and walking out of the chamber he would take his leave and move towards the main complex of the armed forces. The Eisen Gestalt and have a meeting with the Generals. Who would no doubt be unhappy about the news.
------
The rumours of the dark king spread by the church of the prophet did reach far and wide, bringing in heroes and warriors, both those who defeated the dragon and others. There was a battle and the Dark Kings purpose was revealed. Albeit too late for the Prophet himself to intercede. . The Page fromt he book of life was found, and when it was unsealed. So where the angry ghosts of the Dusk. Those known as [The Words]. For a day and a Night, the confused lost phantoms did rage, some merely tormenting people, others the rumours were that they had the power to kill. Everything was unconfirmed within the power of that dense mist. What was known though was that this event greatly panicked the people of Terra and made the leaders of the world rather concerned about just what they could do to protect their peoples. Uriel, despite the fortified defences could find no weakness within the phantoms of the mist, unable to stop their advance for the night, until they were banished in the sun. Even the prophet was unable to avoid the barrage of fury that came from the phantoms of the fog. It was a mystery that upon the sun rise caused him to ponder the nature of the pages. And step up his efforts to find the remaining ones. And to do that, he required a plan. And so once more was called a meeting of the dark council in the Black Citadel.
----
A month prior to saga
“ We have managed to translate the words carved upon the trees....walls...and in...flesh...my lord...”.
The event of the phantoms had been most categorised by the lasting mark that these thigns left upo the land, words in the incomprehensible old landguage scarred into walls trees and any other real lasting surface. Even branded into the flesh of certain individuals if rumour was to be believed. Thankfully among the followers of the Prophet and the dark council was an expert on the old world. One who had anaged to decipher their language and was holding the secret to the old world A B Cs to themselves. The council member stood with a piece of parchment in his hand assembly holding the translated script. “ A rough translation at best my lord it states, ‘ In Dusk we Scream’. Well that certainly made some kind of sense considering the actions of the Phantoms. Although the main word that had attracted the attention of the Prophet was Dusk. A counter statement to the dawn, the beginning. Losing more pages was not going to be an option in this case, he knew that the Dark King had already gained far too much power when he had taken that Page. Curiously however he was more concerned about just how much power. When the Prophet had uncovered and unsealed his page of the book, such a thing had not happened. Nothing like that had happened bar his flashback from the past. However, the Dark king...when he had unsealed it...the world itself had come to a stand still. And something like that had happened. The Day the world stopped. Where some pages more powerful than others? If so the only two holders that the world currently knew were outbalanced. And the lord of the core had power the exceeded that of himself. It grinded against his thoughts. Efforts to find more pages
“ We shall use the idea of this Dusk to our advantage, we cannot afford to lose any more Pages of power.....We shall expand the knowledge of the dusk to the followers...we shall paint it as the end of the world...explain that the Phantoms emerged due to the defacing of the gods Artefacts’...”.
There were mumblings among the council. “ But my lord....”. Said the one, disguised as a Kami. “ This will be bringing them far too close to the truth would it not?” Ordinarily the answer to that question would been yes, but he was in a place where that revealing part of the truth gave more of an advantage than disadvantage. He would just spin it in a way that suited him and his needs. And of course the goals of himself and the Dark Council. “ Having more eyes and ears that are aware of the Fragments only works to our advantage. We would simply say that the hands of the un-anointed touching the artefacts would bring upon us another disaster...and lead us closer to the...Dusk....which would be the Gods final wrath...”.More muttering but there seemed to be a feel of overall acceptance around the council members. The Dusk would be an effective tool of control. Fear always was. And if they were able to control the ignorant masses with their religion offering the answer to eternal salvation, well then this was going to be far easier to deal with.
“ There are however Lord Prophet...still some unbelievers...”.
A snake tailed member of the council spoke up with this little point. The raven on his shoulder let out a caw. And a sly grin spread up the Prophets face. “ Then we shall have to make them believe....”.

The Queen had been stressed lately. As had uriel. The two had grown apart, at least thats how Uriel saw it. He blamed her, and she knew that he blamed her. Whatever had happened, a few weeks after the report of the dark force and her denial of taking action. Soemthing horrible happened that effected the entire world. Time itself seemed to have stopped. Frozen in fear, at least thats what Uriel thought. What had happened that day caused even the battle hardened Kami’;s blood to freeze in his veins. First just random out of the ordinary occurances. Noises with no cause. Items being moved. Then, a fog had rolled into the city. And from the fog came phantoms. Horrors. Monstrosities made of the very fog that chased and terrified the locals and soldiers alike. Weapons were ueless against them. For they seemed to be as formless as the fog itself. They had been banished by the rising sun along with the mist, but people had died that night. Whether it was the cause of these ghosts. Or something else entirely was up to interpretation. Most wounded came in with knife wounds or slashes. Uriel suspected that the phantoms themselves were simply terrifying visions. And that people had been so terrified they had struck out at anything and everything around them just to be safe. Such things happened. For out of his own men not a one reported even a scratch from fighting the ghosts.
But he blamed her for everything happening in the first place. He didn’t doubt for a second that the problem had started because of that dark force in the west. [Continued in next post]

Kitsume was on time. Good. Whtever she had been doing it seemed to have involved some little effort on her part, her skin was slightly glistening which would have meant she wa s having fun of some kind. Well fun as in as fun as it got in this particular regiment of rather grey individuals. His eyes scanned over the notice once again. Then he looked back up at her, she had modified the uniform into a more feminine style. His mind drew back to that little comment he had made weeks ago which seemed to upset her. About how she would probably look better if she made some attempt at dressing like a woman every now and again. Of course the comment had been misplaced but she seemed to have taker it to heart. For the most part he attempted to ignore this. The dead man passing over the missive from his superiors over to her.
“ Ita about this plague thats sweeping the city, have a read”.
When Kitsume’s eyes would go over the paper. It would read as follows. ” By the orders of the Graymarch, your unit is to look into the suspected magical nature of the plague that has been sweeping the city of Mare Maris. The relapse rate after the Queen has healed them is too suspicious to ignore. Plagues within this city rarely last long, yet it is as if the people are constantly exposing themselves to its source. Tests have been done upon the water, the food coming into the city. And yet we can as of yet find no cause to it in these things. As of such we are assigning you to look into these events.- From the Office of the Graymarch, High Knight of the Remnant order. Belmont stood and moved past Kitsume to the door. Briefly looking back at her.
“ It appears we have our orders”.

The Queen had great reserves of stamina for her healing magic but it could only go so far. After awhile it would transpire that she could heal no more. But even then she continued bypassing her limits and going further than normal people would have been able to. But ultimately she was only damaiging herself by doing so. I t got to the point where she began to collapse. And Amos had to grasp her. There was a sound of shock coming from the crowd as the wall of bodies surged backwards at once. The handmaidens and her body guards began to form a wall in front of the crowd as Amos drew her back. The hand maidens each explaining that they would continue the healings but the Queen had to rest. The Crowd seemed content with this. The Queen moved up, pushing her body guard away feebly. “ No..I have to”. He shook his head, looking over at the crowd and then back at her. “ You serve the people best by getting better, then you can return....rest first there are other matters that need to be dealt with”. She still had protest in her eyes but her body was not strong enough to follow up with them. She let out a sigh as her knight helped her out towards the palace.
“ Amos, have you heard anything from Uriel?”

The Outer Borders of Mare Maris
The position in the camp was tense. There was a feeling that now the Eisen Gestalt could no longer be trusted with the protection of the Relic. Uriel had sent the bodies of those who had rebelled back to the city, brought by those in the Eisen Gestalt that were admitted members of the Church. That got rid of the honest ones. Which unfortunately only left Uriel in a paranoid position where he thought that the relic could be attacked at any point by hidden vipers within his little nest. Thankfully there was still the Verstect Gestalt. Watching over the Relic dressed as priests and mages supposedly trying to discern the divine mysteries of the relic. Of course this was bullshit, they had already leaned as much as they could about the relic. And what they knew wasn’t much. It emanated a holy aura. And it was sealed within this form.
Uriel moved into the opening where the relic was being held. Nodding his head to several “ priests” on the way. There it was. The holy relic. Lying on a makeshift altar.
A broken sword, marked with the symbol of the sun.

Whilst the chaos was going on between Dravec and Yuki. Bells tolled out to signal the completion of one of the churches little ceremonies. Noah wouldn’t have much time to mourn. A missive was sent out from the Elder council to seek out the representatives from the neighbour city. They wished to grant an audience to the ambassador. ( Noah can rp the details of getting the message).
Summary: A relic of "holy" power has been discovered in Mare Maris. The military have moved in to secure and move the relic to the city. Whilst the church under the leadership of the prophet is strumming up religious frevor around " the dusk". Claiming that messing with the Relic like they are will bring down the gods wrath. As a result, a plague has began to spread throughout the city. Unrest reached its peak and broke. Now the leader of the military is hiring mercenaries to help escort the relic back to the city. The Saga will start with your characters within Mare Maris. Drawn either by the news, the offer of money, or simply wishing to help the sick people get better. Or something entirely different that makes sense. Up to yourselves. Regardless of reasons. From that starting point. What happens is down to yourselves...

Kimi noticed the odd look and rubbed the back of her head."Whaaat ?". The Kami narrowed his eyes in an suspicious manner before standing right in front of her. She knew exactly what it was about so she turned her head in a rather stubborn fashion." Think what you want. I not a big fan of Sera or anything, but I don't think she's cruel enough to just really drop out of your life and hurt you... ". Noah just remained there with his eyes narrowed." Thats just the thing...before in the dream...you were so sure that she wouldn't and that it was a good thing ". Kimi began taking a few steps passed him, turned around and possessed a red tint on her face." I can't believe you actually remember that. Anyways some of that, the negative towards Sera was said with odd intentions, when I was in my own dark place... so don't take it to heart that I hate her, because I don't ". Noah was just waiting for something to slip up that would reveal Kimi's true feelings towards Sera now that they was on the subject." Anywho, you can always do your Archangel thing and wipe her from existence in an instant ". That's when Noah pointed at Kimi in a serious yet Comical manner." AHA! See I knew it! You still dont like her! ". Kimi laughed slightly while waving her hand back and forth instead of to the sides." Don't be ridiculous Im just joking! Plus she may still have a hold on your heart at the moment, and I greatly emphasize on at the moment... but you're promised to me in this life and the next ". Kimi closed her eyes as a soft smile appeared. Noah looked to her, closed his head and smiled just the same as he remember what was said before." Eternal Embrace...you know you have a really sick sense of humor ". It was around this time that the missive made their way through the city in search for Kimi and her party. Before the group got a chance to get going, the Missive would approach them.

Sera's veil was lifted and she gazed into his eyes. For moment she thought she caught panic in those depths. This was his idea. He was the one who had arranged it all. And here he stood with cold feet? With panic? it should have been her panicking. She was marrying the Lord of Pride, the Demon Lord of Pride's Bastion. She should be flying away at the moment, straight out of the city. And yet, he was the one having second thoughts? And they called women fickle. That moment of what she thought was panic was gone though and replaced by... acceptance?
His vows almost broke her heart. She knew this was difficult for him. And her heart forgave him everything in that instant. It was the first time he had ever vowed anything to her since that first vague promise in each other's arms. From torture for information she didn't know, to an object of lust, to something much more. Sera had grown a lot in her time out of the safety of the celestial realm above. In all things they had been truthful to each other. What other male in the world would be totally honest to the point of brutality? An Oni for all the world, and yet, she trusted him more than anything. His words tugged at her heart and as he kissed her, she returned that kiss with every emotion she felt for him. It would be a rocky life at best. But it would was what she was choosing for herself.
The ceremony was ultimately stopped and the script thrown out the window by Jack's over anxious kiss. The priest rolled his eyes and tossed the book he was holding on the altar. It was time to improvise. Before the bells began their tolling, the priest cleared his throat and waited. Sera was staring at Jack after the kiss and blushed. Oh yeah, vows. right. The kiss had knocked those right out of her mind. Acceptance was what she had always felt, he was what he was. Simple, yet true. Acceptance that had turned into love. Softly she started, nervous at first but growing stronger as her voice continued. "Jack, ... I promise to love you when we are together and when we are apart." In her mind her thoughts filled in the missing note here with a 'even when I am up here' "when are lives are in turmoil and at peace.... "Mostly in turmoil, she thought since they were living in hell. "I promise to honor your goals and dreams, and help fulfill them...." Even if it means bringing the entire realm of hell to its knees "From the depth of my being, I pledge my heart, soul, mind, and everything I am to you. Forever I am yours" Oh crap forever is such a long time. Will we be able to make it? Then she looked into those eyes and knew, that they could and would.
Another kiss from them had the priest clearing his throat and saying, "Exchange the rings, before you two doing anything else" He was certainly winging it. After the exchange of rings, the priest would announce, shaking his head, "I now present, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wiseman." At this point the bells would start their tolling and Sera would look at Jack and whisper. "What now, my heart?"

He was quiet, as was usual for him. She crossed her legs as they hung over the edge of the desk. Silently he passed over the missive as she took it from his hand with a smile. "What's this? Hmm" That question was quickly answered though and she began to read the words sent down by the High Knight of their order. That smile slowly faded as she looked up at her commander. The letter was passed back to him as she tilted her head in thought. The motion of uncrossing her legs, brought one of those slender appendages up against his leg in a brush. "So we have been given orders, do you want my whole unit, or just the two of us?"
The action of hers was to see if he would look at the leg that was brushing against him, or if he would ignore it. The man was a bastion of ice and in contrast, she was like a raging inferno. Both of them used it to protect themselves and she was trying to melt that thick block of ice to see what lay underneath. Sometimes ice could burn just as hot as fire. And sometimes with his indifference or ignoring of her passes, she would get burned. Why was she still doing this? Because she loved a challenge. Some would say it was the fact that she was in love with him. Was she? She didn't know? Was she capable of that kind of emotion? She didn't know.
The rustle of his clothing alerted her to his movement as he rose from his seat, She would move her legs slightly, enough to allow him to pass, but again they would brush against his body. It was at this point that she would agree with him "Yes, we have our orders, Sir" and slip of the desk and follow behind him. "Since we are being dispatched, it must mean spirit activity. How are you planning on looking into these events?" Seeing them together as she passed him and slipped out the door, it was almost like a strong bull and a delicate cat. Two very different fighting styles, two different body styles. Both of them though had the note for their dedication. Belmont was smarter than he looked considering his size, and Kitsume was stronger than she appeared considering her petite stature.

It was done, the binding of bonds and the breaking of others. With the Ceremony completely, the course set by the universe would shift among the individuals connected. The Missive would approach them and recognize them from the description given by the initial guard that reported to them." Kimi and Party ? ". Kimi looked up to the individual and nodded." Yes that is us. May I help you ? ". Noah felt a quick sharp pain in his chest, very painful but was just an instant. His hand brought itself up to his chest and grasped it. It was now gone, but the feel kind of left him shaking inside. Things were not as they appeared to be, As Noah thought in the logical sense and assumed that maybe he was still suffering from the loss." Umm...Hey are you okay ? ". Since the missive was facing them, he saw Noah's reaction to the pain, and the Missive's question would only cause Kimi to turn to Noah, now wondering the same thing." Yea, just felt a sharp pain but Im good now...". He regained his composure before looking to the Missive."Uhh...Ok. Well The Elder Council has been made aware of your arrival, and wish to grant you all an Audience with them. If you'll please follow me ". And with that, The Missive would bow slightly, turn back to the direction that he had came from and began making his way towards that direction again. Kimi would nodd before following them." Come on little brother ". This caused Noah to glare at her, feeling like she was making fun of him. He marched along, turning his head in the direction of the church and the tolling of the bells as he walked by. He didn't know what drawn his attention to the church, but passing it felt like time itself had slowed down considerably , each step seeming like forever. His head would slowly turn from the church and faced what was ahead of him, the way he did everything in his life. After a few steps passed the church, everything seemed to move normally again, Noah, Kimi and 219 individuals making their way to The Palace, the biggest structure in Mare Maris. It would take awhile, but eventually the group would make it to the Palace. It was quite obvious that all of them wouldn't be able to go and speak, So 6 Soldiers, 2 Workers, Kimi and Noah would go while the others chilled at the castle gates. Kimi was a little excited despite the seriousness of the situation because she had always wanted to meet with the queen, and thats what she 'Thought' she was doing.

Battousai would allow his hand to be restored and mended as he accepted the apology from Dravec as his gaze lingers on Yuki a bit longer. No words are spoken. Though it was a shame, it didn’t seem like he and Yuki would be able to coexist around one another; it was a good reason why there would be two villages united instead of one. Still, Battousai would not hold Dravec’s actions against him or condemn Yuki for counter attacking. Since everything was calm for now, he would accept this and move on. He knew that there would no doubt be an altercation in the future, but he would take things one day, or rather one conflict at a time. Still, he did think it useful to allow the two to spar against one another in the future as maybe it would allow them both to release some pent up steam regarding one another.
When the portal is opened, the samurai’s attention turns to it and he folds his arms at his chest and proceeds casually into the portal first. As he walks into the portal, he pause for a moment before he speaks to Dravec about Jay’de, stating, “caution your student on being swift to give her life, if you find use in her.” The samurai noticed, in his movements, that she had attempted a spell that failed. He would conclude, “Yuki’s strength is not to be taken lightly… he is my disciple.” That was also a caution to Dravec in a way, but aside from that, Battousai knew it would also be motivation. At the moment, Battousai knew both Yuki and Dravec’s strength, both mentally and physically. With that said, he would continue into the portal and come out where it saw fit to release them.

My powers were still "malfunctioning" as I have been calling it to lessen the confidence impact of the current state of control over my powers. The simple truth is that I cannot control them as I should. I know I am stronger than this, but for some unknown reason, I still feel hindered, limited almost. I cannot quite explain it, but it is most annoying! When Battousai remarks about Jay'de, the thoughts were already floating around in my head. Nodding to him, I glance at her and would hold her back if necessary to allow Yuki to pass thru before her. His remark about Yuki is met with internal disdain. I do not take it lightly at all, I simply know that my mind can overcome his brawn. It is something that I believe in putting into action, but that would have to wait as well.
Once all three are within the Portal, I would enter myself close behind Jay'de. Drawing each of their signatures to me, my form would launch thru the Void. My form is not my normal appearance, but instead I would appear to them as a large bird of prey carrying all three of them on my back. I am unsure of why I appear this way since I feel like me. The flight would be at immense speed moving thru the Void as if thru some dark wormhole to another realm. My command over the Void would buffer them from the ill effects of teleportation especially over a long distance... even Yuki. When the portal opens, we would be standing on the outskirts of the capital on the road that leads towards the relic's location. The spatial energies start to disperse and I breathe heavily. That had taken quite a bit of energy from me.
Standing to full vertical height, I look over at Jay'de. Speaking telepathically I address her, "First things first, I can respect what you tried to do, but it was VERY foolish, Jay'de. Do not hold a false view of your own strength. That is how many magi have fallen. Our powers do not always work exactly how we wish them to unless we have fully perfected the use of them. Also, do not interfere in another's duel unless someone else seeks to interfere. I am more than capable of handling myself. What I do not need is to be forced to protect you b/c you have gotten yourself in over your head. It hinders my ability to deal with enemies. It is possible that I may fall in battle at some point. It won't be to Yuki unless he lands a lucky shot against me, so focus on protecting yourself b/c should I fall, it will fall to you to protect Battousai. Am I understood?" I would fall silent again for a moment, both thinking of where to go and giving Jay'de time to speak should she choose to. I visually scan the area looking for clues of where to go. (Tracking used.)

It wouldn't take long to travel through the void to the other side. Personally she enjoyed the flight upon the back of the giant bird that was her master. The way everything looked, obscured and strange on this side of the void, the rush of actually flying. It was something she kept to herself, almost like a child holds onto a prized toy. She knew from the words that Battousai had spoken that she would hear from her master on the other side. So she just took the moment to have a happy feeling. Before it was ripped from her. That was the part of her that she tried to keep hidden, the part that savored moments like this.
Upon the exit of the void, Those green eyes sought out her teacher's and waited for him to speak. She knew what was coming and she deserved the censure on one hand, but on the other she had done what her instincts had told her to do. She lets him finish his speech without looking away. Returning the telepathy, she spoke to him in a simple tone. "I understand, Master Hunter and as always I respect your opinion. And heed your warnings." The formality of her words masked her hurt, but were still true all the same. The hurt she would get over. She knew that, but it was hard not to feel the sting of being chastised. That was something about her lately. She had been practicing the art of not letting things affect her so much. After the outburst against him that first day, she had been learning to harness those emotions and use them to her own purposes. It had helped with her control. "I did not hold a false view of my strength. I was trying to protect you the best way that I could. And I understand how weak I am at the moment, having just begun to control my powers. I apologize for my actions." There was truth in her words and apology.
Quickly though, she used the link to ask him, "It may not be my business, but why did you attack him so?" She was curious as to his outburst and the cause of it. And she was curious as to why she was summoned in the first place, since she had no clue as to what was going on. But the willingness to follow Hunter was there. When he was ready he would tell her the cause of her being summoned.

As the time came for him to move into the portal, Yuki followed after his sensei as he glances back to Dravic for a brief moment before looking to the female with him. During the attack she had stepped between him and Dravic and said something, though he wasn't sure to what and if it was a chant or a simple comment aimed at him. Looking at the female for a moment Yuki's gaze shifts over her before he turns his attention back ahead of him, glancing to his sensei for a moment. Again his sensei had shown his strength in blocking his attack even for the great deal of power he had put behind his attack his sensei was still able to stop it even though he still was injured from it but it was such a minor injury. Thinking upon the attack and what his sensei had done to stop the female from being hit by his attack, but was it his fault? He didn't intend for his sensei to get injured or the female, instead he only wished to cause harm to Dravic. Yuki's attention is quickly brought back to reality and the matters at hand as the portal around them opens and they now stand in a different area rather then Theden. Shaking his head faintly, Yuki felt it was not his fault that his sensei had gotten injured, but rather Dravic or even the female with him. Now that they had come out of the portal Yuki glances around for a brief moment before he turns his attention to his sensei Battousai, " I got a message speaking about Mare Maris, is that why we have been brought here? " Yuki asks his sensei as he channels his magic once again to restore more of the damage done to him.

Saga II: Dusk Star Location: Mare Maris
On the road in outskirts of Mare Mairs, not anymore than twenty feet away from the party that just stepped out of the void, a lone woman draped in a white fur line clock stands as if she has been waiting for them at this place. The white hood covers her head and shields most of her face in shadow but do not hider the halo around her. . The mystery woman just stands there easily seen or sensed as hands of white armor come out from under the white clock to fold back the white hood. Her Golden locks pulled back into a ponytail by a black ribbon shimmer in the sunlight as if they are made of pure gold themselves. Her cold emerald eyes look over the party of four before stopping at the man that lead them. "You kept Us waiting... or maybe the darkness has been blurring Our sight more than We would care to confess." After pronouncing her person in a calming tone, a white armored hands comes to fold under her chest as she ponders on the reason for this error in her insight. The events that have been unfolding as of late have been most unsettling for her. "You seem taller now then the last time we spoke with each other."

The Shortened Party of Workers, Soldiers, Kimi and Noah moved further into the Palace, admiring the aspects of it and taking everything in. The House of Noah was big, but this castle was something else. A smirk crept up on his face as he thought of comparing this place to his current project, the Twilight Temple, and hidden Temple composed of 100 floors, each floor being 2 stories high. The type of theme wasn't decided yet, though maybe some kind of royal castle theme would do the Temple much good. The Missive looked to them and smiled." Don't touch anything, we're almost to the room of the Elder council ". Noah narrowed his eyes, the nerve of this guy thinking that they would still anything. Then again Noah was in the form of a child, so it wasn't too farfetched. They would enter one part of the castle, and eventually come out to an opening, which happened to be a beautiful garden. Again Noah couldn't help but make comparison to the Garden in Inanis, though still impressed with what they had here. The group would leave the Opening and reenter another area of the Castle. Making a few turns, The Missive would have led them to somewhat huge doors." They are through here...". The doors would open, though Only Kimi and Noah would be allowed into the Room of the Council. The two didn't know what to expect so they kept their guards up. The door would close behind them, and with that The Missive would move infront of the Party, presenting them to the Council and bowing to them." Here they are, the Representatives from The Neighboring city Inanis ".

Jack seemed to have slightly jumped the gun on the whole kiss que thing. Well it didn’t seem to much matter, the wedding in itself was out of the ordinary. He was pleased by her words. Although the question was, what would they be doing next. The idea was that normally couples would take off for awhile on some kind of honeymoon. Yet where could they really go? Anywhere was pretty much the answer to that one, but nowhere that could really be considered much of a honeymoon resort. “ Well I’ll be honest with you...”> He said slightly whispered under his breath. “ I’ve not got a clue, normally people go on honeymoons right?”. Jack looked over at the priest who was now looking at them in a quizzical fashion. As if it was strange that humans didn’t know that. Was it strange? “ Er...”. With that, Jack grasped the hand of his bride and made his way down from the alter towards the exit of the church. It then occurred to him that he hadn’t yet exchanged the rings as the priest had said. “ Uh....damn I’m bad at this”. He stopped mid way and Hctib scurried after them both with two rings on a purple pillow. Jack picked up one and placed it on Seras finger.
He could only thing that this wasn’t really the wedding that she’d envisioned. But then doubtful that it would have been the wedding that she’d dreamed about either when she was younger. Jack picked up his own ring and in a rather tradition breaking sense flicked his own ring in the air like one would a coin, holding his hand up the ring slid right onto it. “ Right-o, one two snippety doo lets get the fuck outta here”. Now with the bells tolling for an official time. Jack looked over at Sera. There was of course a secondary reason for Jack’s nervousness. He hadn’t told Sera but he had once been in Mare Maris before. And well that hadn’t turned out too well. It had been right back when he had been embracing a more bestial view of the world. And well he had burned down a few houses...ate a few people. Battled some kind of demon hunter. Really the whole thing was blurry but one thing he did know. This city had a demon hunter somewhere that knew his spiritual signature. And although that single hunter wasn’t going to present much of a threat to him. He could bring down quite a few of them which would probably ruin the wedding day. Well...more so.
“ What I mean to say is...its entirely up to you Sera, I don’t doubt you have a few things that you wish to do here before we return to Barathrum Regnum”.

SAGA II: Dusk Star Location: Mare Maris Characters Involved
Spoiler:
Noah Dravec Yuki Sera Kitsume Belmont Jack Jay'De Batosai/Jyn Eclair
[Noah]
The chambers of the elder council were rather large and intimidating. Stone walls with multiple carvings surrounding a large circular table in the centre with several chairs surrounding it. The men ( of whom were there) appeared to be humans in their middle ages. There were three of them, but it would seem that the council actually consisted of twelve members if the chair count was to be believed. The guard who had been escorting you would take his leave with but one look from one of the members. He closed the large doors behind him. Leaving you in the silence of the chamber. The air was tense. And the Elder Council seemed to be sizing you upp. Like a group of animals staring down their prey. Or perhaps their predator. You couldn’t really tell. There were no fear in their eyes. But yet the group was sized up one the less.
“ We are the elder council of Mare Maris “.
Spoke the man in the centre chair gesturing to his two breathen. “ Since the queen is currently busy dealing with the plague, we have been left with the running of the cities day to day life...as well as handling most of the outside influence that comes here...”. The one of the left whispered to the one in the middle. And the one on the right spoke up. “ We shall be blunt, ever since receiving news of your coming to the city, we have been discussing how to handle things and have determined that you are indeed no threat to us....But we do have desires with how to use the resources you have offered..>”. Carefully worded that. It wasn’t used like a command but nor was it placed as a request or a suggestion. Shrewd political moves.
“ We would have you use your workers...and any healers among you to help the queen in her efforts to rid the city of this plague...as for your soldiers...we have a more..delicate task...that requires more immediate attention...”. One one in the centre folded his hands.
“ Outside of the city our scouts discovered a possible Holy Relic members of our army have secured it but there have been....issues...in moving it to the city....we require hired help if you will to help deal with this”. It was vague, but it contained more information than the notices that had been sent out had....
Dravic’s Party ( Featuring Eclair)
As the party popped out of nowhere and subsequently the mysterious woman approached them. A piece of bloodied cloth would be blown on the wind, catching on the boot of Yuki. Dravic’s visual inspection of the area would probably pick this up as well as the imprints of wagon wheels, and oddly placed foot prints. Almost as if certain people had been limping towards Mare Maris. Anyone with enhanced senses might also pick up the scent from campfires on the wind.
Jack and Sera
After the ceremony had finished, the rings on and the bells tolling in the background, the doors of the church would open, and a white robed, red haired Kami walked inside. His eyes rd like Sera’s. One would argue that he might have come from the same classification as her. “ Ah such a beautiful day when two souls come together in harmony”. His eyes locked on the two of them. “ Even in the chaos to which we exist....But then to control the chaos is the goal of our people....to swim within the waters and breathe....to walk through the fires and feel no pain...”. He smiled. To an outsider it may have looked kind. But to those who it was focused upon. It appeared more arrogant than anything else”.
He approached them both and placed a hand on a shoulder of each. Leaning in and whispering.
“ I know your secret....know that you need not hide here...we do not judge....our goal is unification...peace for all....your union is beautiful...a manifestation of what we one day hope to bring to all...true peace and love for all...”.
Of course, the words of the man were empty. Not that either would know that. For within the guise of that Kami skin. Was an Onikonjou. One of the council members of the Prophet....” It is an honour to meet you....my name is...”.He grinned again.
” Azazel”

With the combining factors of the Council, The large intimidating room, and Isolation, it would have caused normal individuals to feel uncomfortable or even panic a bit. This did not occur with the two though, Noah being well...Noah, and Kimi finding herself needing to be stronger and more stern so she would be worthy of being the second of command to the Kami. Others viewing these aspects of both individuals would consider them arrogant, but in a world like this it was needed. He remained there slightly behind Kimi, not aligned with her as they took in what the council had to say. The situation given was not one that the Kami expected since not much was revealed through the Message. Two paths was laid before them, and now would be the time to analyze the factors of both paths. One was to go and Aid the queen of Mare Maris, something that even Noah would think would be more important, but according to the Council, going off the exact words...the other situation required more attention. What could require more attention than aiding the queen ? The possibility of retrieving what just might or might nor be a holy artifact ? This of course would have to be discussed, because the only one with great healing abilities was Noah, as the others were workers and soldiers. The Naturalist could possibly find stuff regarding herbal remedies, but there was no Alchemists with them to make potions to aid in such a task. This would direct their attention towards the second scenario despite Noah and even Kimi wanting to go Aid the Queen. Noah would speak, which would take the appearance of the child taking the floor in matters that others would think that he was too young for." None of Her workers besides possibly her Naturalist could aid the queen, though thats a low possibility... and though I think aiding the queen should always take priority, we're going to have to aid in bringing the Artifact...". Noah didn't want to say that he would occasionally come back and forth between the artifact and the queen because he didnt want to give hints of what he could do outside of the limits of the child. He was the only one with great healing abilities so he would have to go back and forth through his own means...a possibly draining task. Kimi looked to Noah first and nodded, agreeing with the words spoken by him before turning back to the council." I agree with him. It is because of that, Im going to send no one to the queens aid...though I feel like the queen may have some special aid...like an Angel ". She said referring to Noah, knowing him all too well in what he was going to attempt." We're all going to head to assist in retrieval of the holy artifact ".

When the fog of the void cleared, it would seem that they had made it to the place that they needed to go. They would come into a place that was not void of life; a passive survey proved bodies about, but none seemed aggressive. A glance to Dravec would tell the samurai that it tolled greatly on the void mage to bring this many people thus far with his powers. Such a thing was good, as Battousai felt that it made the void mage stronger to push his abilities to the limit. Recently, Battousai found himself getting more and more used to the powers of the void from simply being around Dravec; he even felt as if he were getting the hang of harnessing some of its abilities.
Battousai took Dravec’s silence on arrival to understand that he may be communicating with his pupil at the moment. That much was fine; Battousai would speak to Yuki mentally between the two of them. He nods to Yuki’s question; reaching out to Yuki’s mind, the samurai would state, “…be patient at all times. Whatever Dravec did shouldn’t have hurt my disciple badly. The impression made if you had not responded to his attack would have been far greater than a counter attack. Control your emotions and in such, you control your opponents. The rock in the stream needs not retaliate against the waters that constantly bash against it; this too is a method of strength.” After this, he would verbally speak, “yes, tell me about the messages.”
It wasn’t that he ignored the person twenty or less feet away, but rather, he was weighing the feasibility of this stranger addressing him out of a group. To an extent, Battousai could tell that she seemed to be addressing him. Amongst the personas, Battousai had not ‘reconnected’ with Jyn since they last parted. As such, it was Jyn who had gone a different route than he and was privy to an encounter with the young lady that was nearby. Since Jyn had not reunited with Battousai, or much less seem him since, Battousai would honestly be noticing a stranger who spoke casually at him. The distance between them and her tone seemed none aggressive, but her existence in being here in waiting for them was suspicious. As always, however, he knew that Dravec would not allow anyone to approach too closely without recourse. For that, while listening to Yuki’s answer, Battousai would simply nod to the young lady to allow her to know that she had been noticed, but would continue in leading the way towards Mare Maris. He was more concerned, at the moment, with the information that Yuki had received on their current destination and how it matched up with what he had heard from Dravec.
In referencing the previously mentioned persona, and waste of stamina, Jyn, wouldn’t actually be that far away. Jin would already be in the outskirts of Mare Maris as he had come previously to live with Meloly and her family, but the samurai didn’t anticipate running into or bothering the core persona in this visit. He pauses for a moment as he looks down to notice the parchment that had attached itself to Yuki's foot as if questioning it with his gaze.

The journey had been an odd one for Jyn. After finishing his life goal of killing the mage of their paste, it seemed that he, Jin and Battousai had gained their own bodies. Not one to really question why this was occurring, Jyn went his separate way from the other two personas. As Jin had gone off to Mare Maris, and Battousai had gone to Theden, Jyn took an alternate route and ended up waking up in bed with a woman who had proclaimed to be his wife. He would like to say that weirder thing had happened, but alas, they had not thus far. After the fiasco with the blonde who referred to himself in the plural first person, Jyn departed from that village on his way towards the desert. He had originally stated that he would be going to Theden, but he wanted to look up a merchant who he used to know who he felt might be a good fit for the village as its head merchant. On his way in that direction, he heard about the hoopla with Mare Maris, remembered that Jin was there and decided that he would head to the worlds current largest town in order to catch up on current events. At the moment, he was unaware that Battousai, Dravec and Yuki would be there.
At the present moment in time, he would already be in the city; not particularly doing anything of great merit. After all, he was much closer than Theden when the rumors of the going-ons were happening.
Since it was pretty late in the day, it could be guessed that he were he would still be in bed with the covers partially over his partially dressed body. A loud fart would resonate through the small tavern room that would awake him from his sleep in a startle. Now sitting up in bed, he would look to the window and realize that it was already day. With a shrug, he would lazily lay back down.
“Shit!” The fact that it was already day would hit his brain coaxing him to get up again. Looking around he emits an annoyed groan and starts moving out of bed to get dressed and such. He had something to look at.
From the rumors, he knew that there was a special relic being held by Mare Maris and it was being protected by the military. He also knew some weird thing called a ‘church’ that he had never heard of before sprung up and started being a point of importance. The offer of money was always good, but mysterious happenings were always a good draw for an adventurer.

Kimi's eyes which was once open began to close very slowly, until they appeared as they would when she would giggle towards various things Noah did in the past (In Pic). This time of course there was no giggle, and her eyes would remain like that. It was an expression that was out of the norm, though it didn't indicate anything specific. She still had great vision of the room, having honed her tracking abilities to a great level, with her eyes narrowed like that it was still on par with the vision granted to a normal individual with their eyes open. She wanted to add in something before they even got a chance to reply to the choice of both the Kami and her. Her reply at this moments, would show sheer arrogance in their capabilities of getting things done." Though, I doubt she would need any of our workers...Im sure we can get everything done alone, and even be back to help her ourselves ". She was reffering to both her and Noah, and despite how arrogant it may have been, Noah completely agreed with her, showing it through a mere chuckle." What my Sister means to say is that we'll do our best to achieve the goals laid out before us, with hope of assisting in other areas ".

There were a lot of things about Kitsume that Belmont didn't think hed ever understand. But at the same time she was a good enough officer, she took her orders and despite not being like the usual Remnant soldier she did her job just as well as any of them would. She was dead inside like the rest of them. But she acted it in a different way. She acted out like she had a rather hhyper personality and who knows perhaps she did but there was something under that. Perhaps in turth the personality was an entire act. Something to cover the fact that she was just like every other one of them. Of course she was right the reason that they wre being called in on this one was because they were spirit hunters. And there was more than likely going to be magical or spiritual involvement. " Looks like it...fact of the matter is-". He said just as she slipped by him. her lithe frame easily moving between the gap.
He raised an eyebrow but followed out with. " The rate at which people are being cured....and then those same people are lookig to be cured again is too much to just ignore. Theres some kind of pattern to this that people seem to exposing themselves to the source". He moved through the hall and then opened the door to the outside. " Just us two for now, the others can get involved if its required, but right now we need more investiagation work as opposed to muscle". He tapped his temple. " We need to find a common factor between these victims...which becomes a problem when there are so many of them...so we're going to need to trace it back...right back to the first reported cases, and my guess is that the healers around town are going to have more information on that than we do". So they had their first stop on the case. Find the first victims and draw a chart of spread and contamination. Lead it straight back to the source.
" You ready?".

I transmit an image of me resting my right hand on her left shoulder and nodding to her. "We all make mistakes. Since you're still alive, learn from it." I fall silent for a moment as I observe the strange woman that seemed to be waiting for someone and thought that one of us was the person that she was waiting for. Speaking telepathically to her (Eclair), I address her, "We are not the ones you are looking for. Be safe." So long as she made no further movements towards Battousai, I would ignore her presence. Jay'de had asked what triggered my reaction. I look at my operative and pupil for a moment before I resign to share with her what I saw and heard from Yuki's thoughts. I do not shield or hold anything back. As I am relaying the images of his inappropriate fantasizing, I find myself able to control my emotions far easier this time around. Once the "psychic transmission" is over, I tell her plainly, "You are aligned to me and as such, I will allow no harm to come to you, except during training of course. Such thoughts are disrespectful and I cannot abide by such, regardless of his role as our lord's disciple. He is a disgusting dog and a fool to think that I would ever allow him to place his paws on you."
The telepathic conversation between Jay'de and myself would be taking place while I am observing the surroundings. My nose picks up a scent that makes this woman far more suspicious to me... "Blood." I speak out loud. "Struggle. Fire. Retreat." If Yuki had not noticed and retrieved the bloodied cloth, my movements would take me next to him and Battousai to retrieve it myself. I continue scanning and surveying the surrounding area. Sniffing the air again, I look in the direction of the campfire, which I assume is also the direction that the tracks came from. Looking at the tracks around, I use my tracking abilities to get an idea of how old these tracks are. That knowledge would let me know if the battle had concluded some time ago or if it was still going on. After all, our primary objective was recon and intel gathering.
After further surveying and assessing the terrain and such, I report, "My lord, these tracks lead that way. The smell of fire is also coming from that direction. The blood on the cloth leads me to believe that there has been a struggle nearby. These tracks are wagons taking the fallen and gravely injured back to the city for burial and care. Some of the less gravely wounded were accompanied by fellow soldiers as well. That's why some of these tracks are normal militia staggered positioning and tracks like these have heavier imprints in a consistent pattern favoring one side. It would appear my intel was accurate. Your orders, my lord?" In a normal scenario, I would have suggested to scout ahead myself, but I would not leave Jay'de alone with Yuki. I did not wish to anger my lord, but Jay'de currently cannot defend herself adequately against Yuki, so I will.

(Sophia: I think we should stay and help the queen with assisting the people. I know Noah's making this decision based on what he think he is able and not able to do but he really should reconsider. his healing magic alone is great). Sophia would argue against what Noah and Kimi decided to do, though there were other individuals within Noah that agreed with his choice and none of what is said would reach the Kami. Prometheus of course was one of them, though it was no surprise as he was always against everything that Sophia was for, kind of a light vs darkness thing.(Prometheus: The Council had deemed this other task more delicate and required more intention. If this is to be more important than the people themselves then it would be foolish to look the other way. Im loving Kimi's Attitude though, such confidence in believing they'll be able to handle both situations. I swear quite a bit of me is rubbing off on that woman ). There was a chuckle from the darkness and another figure came.(Balmung: Kimi's stepping up her A game. Not just any body can be at the side to that of an Divine being like Noah. In order for that she must have realized that an attitude change was needed. A Woman whose Beautiful, Kind, Strong both mentally and physically. Someone whose confident, who has strong Will power and you can trust with your life...Though I thought it was going to be that Sera character. She may lack some of the key essentials but I was sure she was gonna be the one. Haven't seen her in forever though). Prometheus laughed hard at that and shook his head.(Prometheus: She's as weak as they come. Would have swiped her head off too if it wasn't for that Brat...but it doesn't matter...I'll kill her the next time we encounter). (Balmung: In your dreams Right? because you know Noah's not gonna allow it right?) Prometheus chuckled a little bit before lowering his head slightly.(Prometheus: Now he won't, but that's where Kimi comes in...If she can win over Noah's heart, his will to protect Sera will be so weakened that next time I'll be able to tear her to shreds in an instant without interruptions). Noah wasn't aware of the discussion, being fully into what was going on before him with the council.

Shifting his attention after his question, Yuki looks towards the female approaching them, his gaze shifting over her for a brief moment. Yuki only keeps his gaze upon the female for a brief moment before he shifts his attention to his sensei as he hears him begin to speak. Listening to his sensei, Yuki lifts his head, turning his nose to the air as he begins to sniff at the air as he picks up the scent from campfires. With a soft growl Yuki shifts his attention back to his sensei, " I am no dog.. " The half-breed murmurs lightly before he gets back to the topic at hand, " The message I received was about a plague in Mare Maris that has caused unrest and that they are seeking the aid of mercenaries to help with something.. I had planed to speak to you about this and then go with some of Theden's troops to offer our aid, but then things changed. " Yuki says to his sensei as he glances back to the male for a brief moment. Though he had first planed to go to Mare Maris and offer help, now that he had been transported here with his sensei and the others, Yuki wasn't to sure of what was going to happen. Turning his gaze back to his sensei Yuki notices he was looking at him, or at least in his direction but down towards the ground. Wondering what his sensei is looking at Yuki shifts his gaze down to his feet and notices a piece of cloth that rested on his boot. Taking note of the piece of cloth Yuki kneels down and takes hold of it. Shifting his gaze, Yuki looks to Dravic for a moment as he speaks up, though with not much to say at the moment. Raising to his feet Yuki picks up the bit of bloody cloth from his boot and shifts his gaze over it for a moment before turning his attention back to Dravic as he speaks again about what must have happened here. As the question is posed of his sensei from Dravic, Yuki turns his gazed to his sensei wondering what he will have them do. While waiting for an answer form his sensei Yuki focuses his magic once again to repair the damage.

They say knowledge is power. Sometimes though, that knowledge may lend you power at a cost. A very high cost. Especially now. Jay'de who had never really had much use for sexual thoughts or images, found herself regretting asking that question of her master. As those images floated in between the mental link of them, she registered shock, disgust, anger, and most of all, disbelief. She knew she had a pleasure figure, but she did not see herself as more than just that. Certainly not enough to illicit that kind of response in a man she had just met. For a moment it made her feel unclean, dirty. Even though those images would not likely be more than just that. She barely knew the dog.
It took her a moment a to get the emotions under control. She wanted to smack the young man. Wanted to make him hurt, but she knew what caution was and kept those feelings to herself. Her face never revealed anything going on in her mind or the link with her teacher. Into his mind she spoke in her soft voice, "Thank you for your protection and patience" Her eyes gazed over at the disgusting dog, as he was now being nicknamed in the minds of the two mages. Perhaps D.D would be a good shortening of that nickname.
They were still connected since neither one had broken the link as she finally take a moment to glance over at the woman. Not much her concern since she was speaking nonsense about wait for someone. But as Hunter spoke to Lord Battousai about their current soundings and what had gone, she caught the feelings of leaving her alone with Yuki. And she knew that she was being a waste of resources and that was not a good idea. So again she spoke into his mind. "Master Hunter, I understand that you are trying to protect me, but if you are needed to scout ahead or around the area, I am fairly sure that D.D will not try something in the middle of a group of people. I will keep out of the way as much as possible."
With that she would look around the area, observing what her master had pointed out and trying to study how he had observed such. She was good at observing people, perhaps she should learn to observe her surroundings much better. It might help all of them. Outwardly, she just seemed to be quiet and shy, out of the way kind of girl. Again she knew to keep her mouth shut and her ears open, it would help her to learn more of the things going on. Although the newcomer may not be making sense, the information she was spouting could be of use in the future, so she watched and waited.

Jack was of course Jack. He could be nothing else. But she loved him anyways. Sera shook her head after the ring was finally placed on her finger and placed her hand on his arm. She expected nothing more than for him to be himself. As corny and cheesy as it sounded it was the truth. Had she wanted something different, of course. Had she dreamed of a different kind of wedding, of course. Every girl dreamed about being a fairy princess on her wedding day. This was not what she had always dreamed about, but was she happy. Of course. It was what Jack had thought of and in that was her gift. He had tried. And at least there was no death or destruction at the wedding for that she was most thankful. She loved Jack, and it did not matter how it happened, as long as they wre together and shared their vows.
Gently she leaned up and kissed his cheek, whispering, "Thank you Jack. You made it special for me." And that was syrupy truth. "Let's go home." With that she turned around to watch as someone looking strikingly like herself strutted in. He seemed to be off, something wasn't right and Sera felt as if something bad was about to happen. Staring into those red eyes was like staring into the eyes of snake. And that snake was coiling tighter and tighter around them as he talked and got closer to them.
He knew, his words said that he knew. It seemed like he was a Kami, but his words were not that of a Kami. Unless he was also one of the fallen kami. But he seemed to hold a certain amount of malice under that smiling exterior. Something about him just set the hairs on the back of her neck to standing on end. Something about him wasn't right. Almost as if he was hiding something. His hand on her shoulder made her feel different. Her smile faded at his whispering and she shuddered. "Azazel, It is a pleasure to meet you." her words were just as empty, but her smile was warm and kind. The smile just didn't reach all the way to those red eyes. "What can we do for you, sir?"

Yes, Kitsume was a bit of a hyper attitude. Part of it was an act, the other part was mainly to get a rise out of the commander of the Remnants. As he had seen when fighting or tracking, she tended to lose all of that hyperness and was left with a cold, calculating mind. Even when the lifeless thing created by the metal mage was not in control of her movements and mind, she was still focused and rather quiet. And If Belmont had ever caught her by herself, she was always alone and brooding. But that was the complexity of Kitsume.
The fact, that he stopped in mid sentence gave her hope that perhaps he was starting to notice her. Or perhaps he was just making sure she was out of the office prior to him shutting the door. He continued to walk and talk and she listened thoughtfully. "Of course I am ready." She patted her back, where her staff rested in the holster. "As always. So we are going to go find the first people that were infected and start from there. Do you think that perhaps it could be caused by that artifact that rumors are sprouting about? I mean kinda strange that the more talk of this relic, the more people get sick. Perhaps the relic or the people after the relic are responsible. Just a thought. I mean if I didn't want someone to get a hold of something so powerful. I would try to take them out. And what better way than attack the people of the city. I mean its just a theory." She shrugged as she walked down the hallway beside him.
"That's a bit of a stretchy, crazy idea. So hopefully you know where the healer was that healed the first cases of this disease." 320/1234/3

Sophia could be nothing but opposed at the nature of the conversation, feeling a little ill at the thought. (Sophia: Prometheus...I can't allow you to attempt something of that nature on Sera...and most importantly I won't allow you to use Kimi like that). Sophia was there firm as the side of light amongst the spirits sealed within Noah. Prometheus could do nothing but laugh a little and then remain his cool.(Prometheus: And what are you going to do ? Relay all this to Noah ? It's not really going to matter in the end whether he is aware of it or not. The best thing he would be able to do is just avoid Sera at all times, and Im sure that despite you being against me, you wouldn't want that for Noah...or maybe you do want that ). His tone became slightly more sinister, which caused Sophia to wonder what he was talking about.(Prometheus: Even though we all would protect Noah with everything we have...You amongst all of us have grown more attached to him, wanting nothing but the best for him... Even you know that Sera is a lost cause, and will be better off wiped from this earth...so why must you clash with me on this matter ?). Sophia remained silent for a moment, and then lifted her attention towards Prometheus.(Sophia: I clash because I will always believe in hope, and Sera has not done anything to deserve being killed for. She hasn't completely broke Noah's heart nor has she even dealt physical harm to him...and anyways Kimi is a very important person to me. Her being used in your twisted games is just something I won't allow). Prometheus would shake his head quickly. (Prometheus: I have no intent to manipulate Kimi in anyways...She naturally loves Noah, no manipulation behind that. Just let Nature takes it's course. I just step in when the time is right). Balmung, Rachael, and Balthazar found all of this very interesting, though like every other occasion, Balthazar would just sit, watch and drink tea.

Getting an actual survey of the land, Battousai was able to recognize for himself that there seemed to be an exodus of sorts towards Mare Maris. From the rumors, the Queen of the area was supposed to be a healer of great strength, that much was obvious to most who had traveled this area or lived in it before. That with the mention of a plague would make sense for people to head to Mare Maris for her benevolent blessing. Still, the samurai frowned at what bringing a large population of sick people to one area would do to it. As previously felt by others who had come before him, there was a magical presence in the air that was slightly unnerving.
The samurai could tell that the magical presence had shifted from what it normally had been. Having been to the area before, he knew it almost as if he knew a smell. The signature of things was tainted, though Battousai wouldn’t be able to tell how just yet. The campfires were note worthy but didn’t seem to hold his attention.
Suddenly, something comes into Battousai’s mind as he looks at the blood in the area. He was able to put together some small facts such as that there was a plague in the area, people were moving towards the city, and there was blood about. His mask already covered his face, but he would say, “be careful not to touch anything directly. We do not know the nature of this land’s affliction.” He knew Dravec wore gloves as did Yuki. Battousai attempted to use his sensing to look at the blood about them to see if it were laced with any particular type of magic. Sharing his thoughts with the other, he contrasts Dravec’s words stating, “…these tracks lead into the town and this blood could have come from the ill as they moved into the city seeking help.” As always, Battousai wanted to understand his surroundings before doing anything. Moving on Yuki’s words, he concludes, “but if they request mercenaries to help with something, then we should move quickly into the town to hear what this something is.” Looking to Dravec, Battousai would mentally advise him to go ahead with his female disciple and that he would be catching up with them momentarily. The situation had finally attracted the samurai’s attention. Speaking to his disciple, Battousai inquires, “Yuki, as you know there are campfires around here. I would like for you to seek out an encampment to gain any information those there have. Afterwards, meet back with us in the town. If you run into trouble, even if you have it under control, send a flare into the sky. Is that understood?”

SAGA II: Dusk Star Location: Mare Maris Characters Involved
Spoiler:
Noah Dravec Yuki Sera Kitsume Belmont Jack Jay'De Batosai/Jyn Eclair
[Noah] The members o of the elder council laid out in front of you seemed to be rather pleased with that answer. Although the one on the right seemed to have a look on his face akin to concern when you mentioned that you had failed to bring any healers. Still it was a bit strange that the majority of them cared more about this holy relic than dealing with the problems within the city itself. It had to make you question how things were run in this city. “ Its good to hear that you’ll be helping us with it then. Rest be sured however that you are not the only one who is likely to be there, a call for mercenaries went up ever since the...incident...”. The one in the centre seemed to be speaking fro them at this point in time. “ The church has not been very...cooperative with our attempts to secure the relic..they think that by touching it we are bringing this plague down upon the city...it is a coincidence I assure you...”. The one on the left took his turn this time. “ Unfortunatly their influence even within our own military is great...thus we require the help of mercenaries in the case of any more...incidents...”. A little bit loose with the tongue there. The main words to be focused upon were “ any more”. Which indicated that there had already been problems in moving it.
The centre member of the council would throw a map at you wrapped up parchment sealed with string. “ That is the location of our current encampment...when you get there seek out Uriel. Leader of the gestalt group”.
Dravic’s Party ( Featuring Eclair)
As Dravic pulled his Jedi mind trick warning thing on Ecalire. Yuki mystically read Dravics mind. And Jay’De stood there looking all cute and apprenticy. Other things would go on. Dravic’s tracking senses would detect that the tracks were in fact no that old. By the looks of things in fact they had only passed by in whatever convoy it had been roughly 10-15 minutes ago. Battousai’s sensing against the blood stained cloth would come back reading a blank. It seemed that whoever had been wearing it had not been effected by magic. Be it ill or positive. Which indicated that the injury they had sustained had came from traditional means. Not necessarily an accident due to the amount of blood on the bandage. But more likely a light sword cut judged by the pattern spread of the blood, as well as the volume.
Jack and Sera
Azazel, didn’t seem like much of a name a Kami would take. But then again Jack didn’t much seem like a name a demon would take. Weird things happened. But this kami seemed to be getting an odd kick from Sera’s...nervousness. She’d asked him a simple question and Azazel was going to reply with a more complex answer. “....Ah but there are many things that we could want for but not all of them you could do for us....it is sad to see on this day of blessing that the city is stricken down in such a terrible way...a plague that seems to have no end...a curse by the gods for the actions of a heretical queen and her followers....”. Azazel put on what could only be described as a rather fake sad look. “ Alas we do our best to contain it...to heal...to hand out the blessings of our fathers...”. His hands raised to the sky. “ But it would seem that this is the will of the gods...that we be punished...”. Azazel moved out of their way, that grin creeping up his face again. “ So I suppose all I can ask is...”.
” ...To keep the city of Mare Maris in your prayers....shes going to need them..”

Kimi would reach one arm up and hand open which would catch the wrapped map easily. She didn't open it yet as she lowered it to her side and kept her attention on them. She took in the words spoken by them and so did Noah, both of which began developing similar thoughts about the situation before them. (Kimi: Maybe the church has something to do as to why they are having problems with the retrieval of the artifact. Religious figures can be considered quite radical in situations the involve the great divine). Noah gave a slight nodd afterwards, which would give Kimi the heads up that they should be parting ways now." Understood. Leave it to us ". With those parting words, Kimi would turn her back to the council, followed by the Kami Noah as they made their way through the doors, which opened for them. Once the doors closed behind them, Kimi's expression would become slightly serious." I thought I didn't like the way things were before we got here...the stuff I was hearing about...but now I don't like it because it smells of foul play here ". Noah Placed his hands in his pocket and lowered his head with a smirk." Foul play is going on every second of every day Kimi. Nonetheless I don't like it either. I don't like the idea that they are concentrating their efforts to receiving some object than helping the queen... that alone is a form of some kind of deceit, which leads me to believe that maybe we should leave our guards with the queen as well as our workers. They wont be able to help with the healing process, but she may need some protection. The Council seems more interested in this other thing so I would think the military power would be concentrated towards that. Anyhow It'll be easy for just me and you to go...though let's go check up on the queen before we go, just so I'll know where to check in from time to time ". Kimi nodded before the both of them was escorted out of the castle and would encounter their Guards/Workers. " Alright, this is how it's going to go. Im going to send all of you to the Queens Aid. Help her in anyway possible, even if you got to strip...don't actually strip ". Kimi rubbed the back of her head in an awkward way when Noah said that, and would wait for him to continue. The person that escorted them out overheard them and walked to them." The queen at the moment has returned to the Palace to rest. You missed her while you were in the meeting with the Council...but once rested she should be back in the Atrium of Healing ". Kimi looked to the individual and opened the map." Alright, then we can just go to our destination then...though I would like to know around what area within the place that the queen was tending to the people...". The Missive would mark the Atrium of Healing with a circle, and then would guide them there to the spot that the queen was doing most of her healing. It took a little while, but they made it there. Noah was able to take in the surrounding and locked the image in his mind." Alright. People of Inanis...Warriors and Workers. Give it your all and provide the queen with everything she needs. She needs more buildings built, then make the hell out of those buildings! she need protect her, well she better not have scratch because Inanis are the best at protection! " All the workers and guards cheered, throwing their arms in the air. With that, the Kami would leave them with the Missive." Inform the queen that these soldiers and workers are highly skilled individuals from Inanis and are there to serve her as she deems fit, with regards from both Kimi and Noah ". The Missive would nod as he would guide the soldiers back to the castle to wait on the queen. " Well it looks like it's just the two of us now ". Kimi giggled slightly before looking to him." That's the way I prefer it ". A faint red would cross the Archangel's face before he shook his head snapping out of the little tiny stun brought about by her words." Umm..Let's go. ". He looked forwards and took in a deep breath." Transcend Time and Space, Divinum Tela "(Divinum Tela). With those words spoken, both him and Kimi would instantly vanish in the presence of others, which would cause some people to look at where they used to be.
The two traveled in a rip at a high speed, to those outside of the rip being as if it was instant, though within the rip it seemed like exactly 60 seconds. Both Kimi and Noah would appear somewhere within 1.9 miles of their initial point, using their map as a guide to try and get to the place exactly. It was interesting though that they weren't that far off from the location. Probably another use of Divinum Tela would help. Before that would occur though, Noah would prepare himself for what may occur, though neither of them pulled out their weapons because if they warped and then suddently appeared in the encampment with weapons readied, they could be mistaken for enemies, so Kimi's Bow remained strap to her backside along with her quiver filled with many arrows of various types. So that was the task done, bit the bullet nail in the coffin, shackle on the wrist and yet Jack didn’t seem to much care about any of the confining aspects of the union that had been placed upon the two. More to the question though one would probably question this entire thing if he had known just what the concequences of Sera’s own actions would one day be. The two happy for the moment but such things were often short lived. For now they could bask in their...union. But there was always going to be a shadow looming over it. An inevitable count down to destruction. Just as they were on their way out another kami seemed to enter the area, and the moment he got within 20 feet of Jack. Jack knew that he wasn’t actually a kami. [Tainted Senses]. The tainted spiritual presence of Oni was always something that Jack had been able to pick up. Oni were gifted with their own magical talents. Jack’s main talent seemed to be the ability to pick up on others of his kind. A survival mechanism which had helped him to survive those early years.
The man whispered revealing that he knew the nature of Jack and Sera’s wedding. Jack merely let out his own grin reflecting that of this Azazel’s. “ As you know ours. We know yours”. Jack wouldn’t wait for much of a response, but this mans little talk seemed to be either zealous and self deluded or entirely fake. Likely he was an Oni that had infiltrated the church in order to gain more influence. A position of dominance. Such went according to their natures. It was smart, and Jack tipped his hat to the effort if nothing else.
“ I’ll be sure to do that...now if theres nothing else...we have a honeymoon to get to”

Belmont began to listen to Kitsume once they had hit the outside. Was it the relic that was causing all these problems? Well that was a distinct possibility. But then again if it had always been there then why was it only acting up now? Further more if reports were right then it was only a few weeks after the relic had been found that this whole incident had really began, which sort of ruled out the relic being responsible for it. Unless of course the church was right and this was only happening because they had moved in to secure it. " Possible, but looking at the evidence it seems unlikely". The next one seemed far more plausable that one of more of the groups that were interested in the relic were in fact responsible for the outbreak. Now this was heavily playing on the idea that the disease would be bad for the rep of the Mare Maris goverment, and it seemed unlikely again that they'd go through that trouble to pin themselves with that kind of tag. Which left the church. It played to their advantage yes. And it made sense. But that was all just baseless theory.
Besides one could reverse the entire thing, it could have been the goverment. And they could be using this as an excuse to get rid of religious influence within the city. He wouldn't realy put it past them, the top dogs were after alls pirits and he'd heard rumours of rather shady deeds going on in the dark nights. " Could be either theory, I'd keep an open mind about this one remember were dealing with two major factions here. Our own goverment and a popular religion...just because its our own goverment hwoever does not mean we should be swayed, after all remember that our enemies are spirits...and they come on both sides of this". He tapped his chin. " Of course thats not to say that either side is responsible. There could be an unknown factor involved...". He'd keep his thoughts about that to himself. He activated Grave Senses and had a look around.
" You sense anything?...".
Because he certainly did. Magic. Everywhere.

When his sensei made the comment about being careful since they do not know what affliction is causing the problems, Yuki makes a note to be careful from this point on so not to contract whatever is causing all the problems. After the comment from his sensei Yuki shifts his gaze as he sniffs at the air once again as he glances around. Hearing his sensei speak again, Yuki listens to the male as he glances towards the tracks he spoke of. Looking to the tracks, Yuki shifts his gaze over them as he listens to his sensei speak about them and the town. Lifting his gaze from the tracks, Yuki looks to his sensei as he comments about moving quickly and the half-breed gives a faint nod in agreement with his sense's statement. Standing around out here was not going to get them anywhere. As his sensei addresses him, Yuki shifts his attention to his companion as he begins to give him a task. Listening to his sensei as he speaks, Yuki gives a faint nod to the task his sensei is giving him. As his sensei finishes speaking, Yuki shifts his attention from his sensei and glances around for a brief moment before nodding again, " Alright sensei. I will see what I can find out and do my best to avoid conflict. When I am done I'll meet you in the town. " the half-breed says as he glances to his companion for a brief moment before turning his gaze from the male. Turning his gaze from his sensei, Yuki glances to the female with Draivc for a brief moment before he shifts his attention once again and begins to move away from the group, following after the scent of campfires to see if he can track down one of the camps.

Noah believed that the two was ready to go, so he would look in the direction where the camp was in sight and he would chant the words." Transcend Space and Time, Divinum Tela "(Divinum Tela). And with that the Kami and Human would vanish again in an instant, appearing not within the camp, but actually a few feet away from the camp. He would hold up the letter that was sent to them by Uriel, or whoever wrote it. It would serve as if he was answering their call. He would then hand the notice to Kimi, in which she would hold it high since she was taller. Both of their expressions seemed to be peppy showing that they both were happy in some way. Once she would get their attention with the notice, she would call out to them." Im seeking Uriel, directed from the council of Mare Maris, answering the call ". She didn't want to say exactly what they were doing there, though Uriel should know if he heard her. There was foul play going on and the people of Mare Maris, or at least the rulers already displayed something that Inanis wouldn't dream of showing, despite Noah's odd nature.

Noah
And poofing like some genie out of the Arabian nights Noah and his peeps are off near the encampment located on the map. Approaching the encampment to tell them that they’d been sent by the elder council and were wanting to see Uriel. Now the unfortunate thing was that Noah hadn’t hung around long enough to get proof of this little order bar the map. And the soldiers were quite suspicious about the whole thing. A group of people wanting to see who could possibly be the central pillar of a currently very shaky building that was the people came around the Relic? The letter identified you as mercenaries. And that would be about it. There were a few discussions among them before they managed to reach a decision. “ He’s in the back”.
It semed that they had determined that the risk of going against the orders of the Elder Council were more than the danger of accidently letting someone in to see Uriel that really shouldn’t be. The guard who was speaking gestured towards a larger tent in the back. That tent was quite easy to tell apart from the othes not just because of its size but the flag adorning the top also seemed to be different from the regular flag of the others.
There was a road behind the tents, a hunter road. A dirt road that seemed to lead into a clearing surrounded by dense vegetation. The guard seemed to be the lightest around that area, which in itself seemed slightly peculiar. Assuming that you walked down towards that tent you would see a figure emerge from that very dirt road. His hair was platinum blonde, his eyes blue. The face of a young man. But the way he walked identified him as someone who had seen and experienced much. A robed man moved from the larger tent and moved over to him, made an action as if whispering in his ear and then his eyes moved over towards you. He seemed to grin, and then made his way over.
“ Greetings friends. I am Uriel, A little bird has told me you were looking for me, how can I help?”
There was something strange, a little bird had told him? The man in the robes? But he had been nowhere near the guards or you at the time. Suddenly there was the feeling around the camp. You’d be able to see it in the soldiers. Lack of sleep. Paranoia in their eyes. Someone watching you. And that voice and question or Uriels. It seemed to convey a different message. He didn’t want to know what he could do for you. But what you could do for him.
Dravic’s Party ( featuring Eclair)
Ok so not much had really happened since the small revelations bar Yuki taking off on his own with rape in his eyes. It wouldn't take Yuki long if he headed in the direction of the campfires to reach the same location as Noah (hint hint).

It took a little while, but they had decided to allow them passsage to see the one known as Uriel. Kimi would bring her hand down while still holding onto the sheet wrapped up. Kimi would bring her head down a bit in a way of saying thank you...almost like bowing. She would begin to take steps forwards, Noah moving after her into the camp. Kimi's walking speed decreased only slightly, which would allow Noah to pass her. His hands was behind him locked together through the fingers, and on his face was a smirk. If one were to look from the side, it would appear as if Noah was indeed the real leader while Kimi being his Guardian...a very peppy guardian. They followed the path to the tent, surrounded by vegetation, though the minds of both individuals was set, and anything less of a direct approach to these individuals would pull their attentions. It wouldn't be long before they neared Uriel's tent, though a very unique figure would begin approaching them from that direction, an individual that stood out a great deal than the rest of the men which led the Kami to believe that this was the person they were looking for. The engaging of conversation would initiate, Uriel kicking it off with a greeting and asking what could he do for them. There was a slight chuckle from the little boy, speaking words that might be taken as insults though it wasn't really intended as such." From the looks of it and from your men...you can't do anything for me. They must have seen some hard times as of recently ". He didn't really pause for Uriel to reply to that " But I more than certain that We can help you ". There was confidence mixed in with arrogance in his tone." I am Noah...King of Inanis, and this here is my sword and second in command Kimi ". Kimi gave a slight bow while smiling, and risen her head afterwards. Some would think that there was something unsettling about her smile, but those affected by the situation at hand wouldnt pay too much mind into it." We've come to lend our assistance in your little dilemma... " It went without saying that the figures should not be underestimated, one being a peppy female and the other being a child no older than 10, who to note had claimed himself to be a King. He would clench his fist and then release it, ready to actually get things underway. Mare Maris was a place with great Militia power, and the idea that they would need assistance with something brought great interest to individuals such as Noah, though he was also interesting in developing a tight nit bond between The Queen and Inanis.

“A broken sword”.
Stated Uriel looking down at the current form of the relic. Doubtless that this item was it, but still he could not wrap his head around the reason for it taking this form. It could have been anything he imagined, some sort of mystical cube. A sphere with strange runic markings perhaps. But this, this was unexpected. Aborken sword lying upon an altar. One would think that moving such a thing would be easy, that it would simply be a case of picking it up and walking in the general direction of Mare Maris till you got there, but this wasn’t the case. Not that they hadn’t tried. It was just impossible. Even now standing close to it Uriel could feel what prevented it being moved. It was some sort of weight, standing near it his bodyfelt as if it had gotten heavier. As if he could barely stand under his own weight. Each limb stiff. Even this however was as close as some people could get without collapsing over. Uriel. He felt as if he could take another few steps. But the closer you got the more the burden upon you increased. Perhpas this was a way of ensuring that the relic was never misused. But there had to be some sort of secret to removing the sword from the alter. But he didn’’t really have time to waste on that kind of thing. Which was why they were preparing to move the actual land around the alter as opposed to the sword itself.
It was going to take great effort to do so yes, but thats why they were paying damned well for mercenary help. The plan was simple, use magic to cut into the land in a circle around 10 feet from the altar. Ten feet, Approximitly the distance the average soldier could be from the relic and still be able to stand on his own two feet. Once the earth had been cut into. Mages in the camp would craft transport with their magic, they didn’t have the time needed to craft it the old fashioned way and move it into place. The earth would be levitated and placed and required on this. At which point it was down to the people and beasts of burden they had to drag it back to Mare Maris. For this task he’d be using the Eisen Gestalt. They couldn’t be trusted in protecting it, but hauling it. Well they couldn’t really screw that up that much could they?
Uriel took another step towards the Relic. Again he felt the pressure of the relic pressing down on him. His body before had felt like interlocking chains of steel as if he had been wearing chainmail on every part of his body. As if the chains were in fact the parts of his skin. But now, now it felt as if his flesh, his muscle his bone had turned into iron. Movement was difficult if not impossible. At least. Moving forward was. For some reason, the Relic didn’t abate movement backwards. He took a step back, easily. Unabated. It was a most curious effect, and all at once again it was back to being weight down by links of chian. However he did imagine that if he had in fact gotten too close to the relic.
The point where you were so weighed down that you could not standing. Moving backwards away from it was going to be something that was goin to be impossible. One of the hooded mage like men walking around the alter area. The secret members of the Verstect Gestalt. Approached him and gestured at the sword. “ Most interesting isn’t it my lord?”. Uriel nodded in time agreeing with the agent. “ Theres an old story where I come from, that of a broken sword....a sword of mercy broken so as to not deliver the killing blow in an unjust execution....”. Uriel looked over at the agent. His curiousity piqued at the idea of this little connection between the two.
“ Who broke the sword?”
Curiosity, nothing else. But from under that hood he felt the Verstect Gestalt agent smirk. “ It was a messenger of the gods”.
Most intriguing.
----
Noah
Noah revealing himself to Uriel was met with the kind of reaction that one could really expect from the man. Indifference. There was a mild smirk on the side of his face, a rather drawn out blink but beyond that he didn’t really seem to much care. Noah was here himself which emant that he was a king who either had the right attitude about getting a personal hand in situation that involved diplomatic relations. Or he was a king who really needed the reward from the mercenary job. Either way it worked in the advantage of Mare Maris. However he didn’t like what seemed to be the arrogant nature from the child. But he was right, at the moment there was very little that MARE Maris could do for the child king. Uriel’s hands were full. And he needed every helping hand he could get in ensuring that the Eisen Gestalt and well, whatever outside influence that decided to get involved would stay in line.
“ Good to hear, Honestly I was hoping more people would arrive but if it is just us then so be it....If the Elder council did truely send you then no doubt they will have told you about our situation, we have encountered a relic like none we have ever seen before....it is in the back there, although I ask that you do not go near it our mages are currently working on the process of....making it movable....Yes you heard right...as of now its an immovable object, and you can imagine the time we’ve had dealing with something like that....but we have found a way and soon we will be making the moves for sending the Relic towards the city...Your job in all of this will be simple”.
He gestured to the main camp. “ Its a sad day when I can’t trust the men the queen had given me....we had a rebellion a few days ago...religious zealots and a few of the Eisen Gestalt taking up arms to try and claim the Relic...thankfully they were despatched before they managed to go near the relic...not that they would have been able to steal it...”. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. “ But as things stand, I’m not sure who I can trust, there may yet be sleeper agents among my ranks, only holding back till we make the object movable before they take action...thus I need people who are uninfluenced by the machinations of outside influence...guard duty.,..it may seem simple...but it is most vital...”. Almost forcefully the weariness moved out of his face.
“ Think you guys can cover that?”

Moving from the group, Yuki begins to slowly shift his gaze from side to side as he starts to sniff at the air once again. Sniffing at the air the half-breed follows after the scent of the campfires that he had picked up moments ago and been told to go gain information at. As he moves forward after the scent Yuki makes sure to scan the area for anything hostile, though he reflects upon what his sensei had told him before he had left. Since his sensei had given him the order not to fight in a sense, Yuki felt he should try and stick to such a thing though he questioned his ability to do so, though he knew he would at least try to do as his sensei had said. Shaking his head faintly to push his thought aside, Yuki focuses back upon his task at hand as he moves forwards. Luckily his searching wouldn't take to long until he found what he is looking for, the scent of campfires leading him to his destination. Coming upon the source of the scent, the camp he had been searching for, Yuki shifts his gaze, scanning over the area for a brief moment, taking in everything as he slows his pace up a bit while moving forwards. Here wishing to offer aid, Yuki didn't want to seem as an aggressor in the situation so he made no move to reach for his weapon, instead keeping his hands down at his side as he moved towards the camp, his gaze shifting as he searches for a guard or someone that could possibly help him.

Azazel seemed to be hinting around something, he just didn't seem right, to Sera. Again there was something off about him that she couldn't put her finger on. His hand upon her shoulder made her wanted to move away but she just squeezed Jack's hand, her nervousness apparent. His words went on and she looked about dumb founded. "Seriously? there is a plague? We have to..." She faded off and cut off her own words as she looked at her new husband. If Jack knew anything about her at all was that she still had that Kami heart. And it ached with the need to help. A plague... maybe it was a judgement? One of the judgement Kami's passing.. wait a minute if this Kami was her same type with those red eyes, he would have known that. Perhaps he was hinted that he had done such. But what kind of plague of was it, there was only one way to find out.
"Azazel, what kind of plague is pestering the city?" Disease and illness were the most common among the larger cities, and often times they brought on by dirty conditions, but the city had looked clean when they had come seeking a church in which to be married. "And what is the cause, if you know" Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him, not wanting to step on another's judgmental toes, but most Kami's would not be acting like he was enjoying himself. Even Abaddon didn't enjoy it, but viewed it as a necessary evil. But then Jack spoke and she was perplexed at the comment.
That brought her out of her wonderings and into a whole new set of questions. What had he meant by that. But when Jack spoke of the honeymoon, she sighed smiled softly. "Yes the Honeymoon." It was in her eyes and facial expressions that she would like to help these people out. But she also understood that this was not their concern. And the longer they stayed, the more likely they would be found out. Their cover blown. "We shall keep the city in our prayers."

It was mentally Hilarious that Uriel wanted people who were unaffected by the Machinations of the opposing influence, and Noah's Title given from the heaven above was the Machinator, The Kami that conceived evil ideas and always had an hidden agenda that benefited himself rather than others. This changed a little with his encounter of Sera, but little after he started falling back into his old habits...or maybe he never truly lost those habits. Kimi accepted the nature though, and despite being the kind individual that she was, it rubbed off a little on her, which was even more dangerous. They had their own hidden agenda which involved becoming good with The Queen, or even the high council, so for this task they could be trusted. The idea of the object was quite interesting to say the least, but it played no part in any of his plans. Kimi knew of Noah's Agenda, and knew the same thing that he did so her expression didn't change much outside of the smile. There was a little window of her mouth shaping an O when she heard about the religious zealots and a few of the Eisen Gestalt betraying them in attempts to claim the Relic. It wasn't fake either as she wondered if this was somehow also connected to what was happening in the city, recalling the words of the Council about the religious figures believing what was happening was an act of the gods for them not leaving what may be a holy relic to them. (Kimi: Maybe the Church is behind the happenings in Mare Maris...still too early to be sure) She looked to Noah after having that thought, and at that time Noah looked to Kimi. Some would think that someone of his status would detest against being reduced to guard duty, but Noah didn't think so. It was as Uriel mentioned...most vital." Sure, I know we can cover it...and will cover it...". Kimi nodded after Noah spoke those words. Agreeing with Him." Umm...where should we stand guard at ? ". Kimi asked looking around for a moment.

"You are right, to keep an open mind. But still this is a bit of a mystery. So where are we going to start?" She continued to follow along beside him. Once on the outside, she scanned the area and wondered exactly where they were heading. At the same time she listened to her commander. She was good like that, constantly multitasking. Kitsume stretched for a moment, like a sprinter about to start a race. Her metallic joints cracked and popped with a sickening sound that was distinctly inhuman, as they rotated and slid into place. She placed a hand to back of her hand and smiled apologetically at Belmont. Some of the others found it oddly disturbing to hear her stretch or crack her knuckles. One of the others even gave her a deadly look once. He was eating dirt in the ring by lunch time. Kitsume knew she was human, for the most part. But thanks to the metal mage and whatever was done to her, she was different. Human, yet not. Something stronger, faster, better than a human. Almost like a hybrid but she always came off to the senses as human. No possession, so spiritual parent, nothing of the sort. Just a human that didn't remember anything but waking up in the core district 18 and half years ago.
She figured that sometime between the dawn and her waking up was when the metal mage had done his experiments on her. That was the only time in her life she couldn't remember. Well after the dawn. And considering she was full grown 18 and half years ago, she know she wasn't bore after that time. So that was all a mystery. Eventually she would have to travel back into the core to find out. Perhaps that was all that was needed. Blinking she was brought back to the here and now by Belmont asking her if she sensed anything. So she opened the senses that allowed to her see the spiritual side of things and know what kind they were as well as track the individual residue if she chose to. It would take a few moments but it could be done. (Spiritual Tracking)

Of course it was typical of Sera to be wanting to help the innocent. Jack had heard of the plague and quite honestly had smelled it in the past few days they had pent wandering around Mare Maris in prreparation for the wedding. After all one couldn't be too careful. Jonah had kept him up to date on most htings and even as he stood there looking into the eyes of the man known as Azaxel. The so called Kami, Jack couldn't help but feel the eyes of the Fear demon boring into the back of his skull. String past him and into the one standing before him. The stare of Jonah always did bring with it some interesting effects. He rememered his first encounter with him. He had somehow kept his predessor the leader of pride uner control without having to be wiped out. That indicated that JOnah had known what Jack had known. And had used it in a way that would benefit him and his clan. He was a good spy master. And a tricky one to keep on leash.
As for Sera, by the looks of her intital reaction to the words of Azazel she wanted to help out with the healing of the plague. And Jack couldn't help but inwardly sigh. Was this what the demon in front of him had planned? Lure in as many as possible? He couldn't keep his mind focused on the honey moon for trying to work out the hidden lines in this little game. But he knew at the same time it was likely his little bird wasn't going to be able to relax much knowing that she had left people suffering who didn't much deserve it. " If you want". He said turning to her. " We can put off the honey moon and you can help out here...I'm not much of a healer as you know...". He was only speaking the truht. Jack's abilities tended to be selfish. He didn't have any powerrs that helped others, only ones that caused them harm or in turn healed himself. Nothing that would ever help with this sort of mess.
" I mean...if thats what you want to do..."
Jack had his own little agenda to this though. Whilst Sera might already be suspecting that this Azazel wasn't all that he seemed. Jack knew it. He was able to sense his own kind instinctively. The tainted senses guaranteed that much. And he wanted to know just why this man was masquerading as a kami. Better yet just why this man was hiding in a church. If hee was able to do that successfully without being caught onto then...there could well be a chance that Jack could learn to get away with the same kind of con.

(Balmung: So what's your assessment on the situation Balthazar ?). There was indeed some more conversing amongst the individuals within as more information from Uriel was passed on to Noah and through to them. Balthazar opened his eyes with the cup of Tea near his hand and remained silent for a good period.(Balthazar: Beats me. The situation itself is of none of my concerns and I prefer to keep it like that. You youngsters these days are always so quick to jump into situations that don't concern you and often find yourself regretting it. Just because Noah is in it doesn't mean I should care, at least until it affects him direct. That's when I'll give my say on things). Balmung released a smirk and chuckled slighty.(Balmung: You're such a sly old man. It's hard to read you a lot of the times...don't know if you're the least trustworthy of us all or the most trustworthy) A small barely noticeable smirk appeared on Balthazar's face while the cup was to his lips. After bringing it back down again he would look to Balmung. (Balthazar: You're the most intellectual of us all. I should be easy to read to you, or maybe I underestimate my own abilities at hiding my true nature). Both of them would simply chuckle only slightly, meanwhile Noah wondered if there was going to be an attack soon. With their arrived, it would make it more difficult for those who were influenced by the evil schemes to act.

As things would turn out, Dravec would accept the order to venture forth towards the town and would call for his disciple to move with him. In that manner, Dravec would continue to the town gates while passively sensing around his environment, and would enter into the city unless somehow interrupted.
More understanding is retrospectively gained as Battousai would accept the knowledge that his initial observation may have been wrong and that a battle could have finished in his location not too long ago. As it would seem, it looked as if they had arrived on the tail end of some type of conflict. Still wishing for the bigger picture, he would proceed as normal. With a nod, he accepts Yuki’s words and bids a momentary farewell to him for their later rendezvous in the town. With Yuki leaving and heading in the direction of a camp, Battousai shifts his gaze into the direction where Dravec and his apprentice should have gone just a few moments before. Moving at a slightly brisker pace than they would have left out with, Battousai begins the process of catching up with them, also sensing about his environment and getting a bead on his cohorts. If unhindered, he would approach from behind Dravec and his apprentice to enter into the town gates at the same time.

Jay'de gave the area a quick once over as she began to follow along with her master, leaving the other two behind. With the leaving them behind, she let go of the thoughts of Yuki and returned to musing about the happenings of this place. Her mind, she kept guarded as she kept silent. Jay'de was never one for too much talk. And she figured that the reason she had been brought along was to learn, so what better way to learn, than to observe. As they walked along towards the gate, she noticed that Lord Battousai had caught up to them and they entered the gate as a group.
Slowing her stroll a bit, she let the two of them gain a few steps so that she walked behind the two of them. Her eyes and ears open to what was going on around them. She did this for two reasons. One she didn't want to intrude upon their conversation or their own thoughts, and two, she didn't want to be a burden upon either of them. At the moment, she felt rather useless, so in an effort to be useful, she would just do what she did best, observe. Perhaps she might actually notice something. On the off chance that it was. But then again, part of the learning process was to stumble and fail. One learned a lesson better if they had failed at it at least once. It stuck in the mind that way.

While Balmung and Balthazar interacted with each other, So would light and Darkness, or to be exact...Sophia and Prometheus. She couldn't forget what Prometheus spoke of before, his devious plan in which she was completely against. Prometheus was an extremely stubborn individual and when he wanted something, he usually got it. The disrespect he received on that day, by someone who he believed was far inferior to him had ate at him. (Sophia: Noah has a lot on his shoulders now...and even if Noah and Kimi become one...I don't want harm to come to anyone. I ask of you to please reconsider this...yes you were disrespected, and though I don't like your nature...you're better than that) She was trying to reach his pride and superiority complex to persuade him to change his mind on the who killing Sera thing. Prometheus simply chuckled slightly with his eyes closed, and then tilted his head slightly in her direction before opening her eyes.(Prometheus: Sophia, I have to be honest with you. You possess a luring charm that in a since allowed you to reach the hearts of others, but I don't really have one...and your attempt at manipulating me by appealing to my superior complex is a failure, though it's interesting that you would stoop so low...Im actually looking forwards to see what you plan to do since that didn't work.) Prometheus and Sophia's mind wasn't on Noah's Situation much like Balmung, and possibly Balthazar.

SAGA II: Dusk Star Location: Mare Maris Characters Involved
Spoiler:
Noah Dravec Yuki Sera Kitsume Belmont Jack Jay'De Batosai/Jyn Eclair
[Noah/Yuki
Men would be running around you, superior officers seemed to be handing out orders as the men started packing up the tents. I appeared that things were finally beginning to take off. Take off being the optimal word in this situation. “ Good to hear”. Said Uriel, he gestured for Noah and Kimi to wait. And what happened next would likely be find boggling. Magical energy was drawn in to the area covered by the trees and other vegetation. Slightly above the tree cover you could see something begin to float. The mages had reached into the power of their earth magic, severing the ties between the earth soil and rock that the alter was on top of. And it began to float.
As certain ones kept it in the air, another couple began to work using wood and metal magic t form a kind of transportation device, like a wagon but far larger and with six wheels. The mages keeping the earth clump afloat seemed to be under extreme strain. The weight that the relic emanated seemed to work in the terms of magic as well. Slowly they lowered it down onto the transport device that had been crafted. And the thing began to creak under the strain of the weight. Luckily the under and over had been reinforced with the power of metal. And whilst it bent and groaned under the weight. It held. With a gesture the opfficers of the Eisen gestalt began to move their troops into positions, the soldiers moving down the dirt road, ropes and hooks and chains. They began the process of securing the relic to the transport. Avoiding putting the chains too close to the alter lest they too be weighted down by the power of the relic and strain the “ train” too much. Once it was tightly secured, they began attaching ropes to the train, tying them to what horses they had. The mages crafted golems out of the earth, attaching hem to the train as well. Surely it would not take so many to move such a thing? Heavy as it was. It couldn’t possibly be that heavy.
Then they began to move it. Progress was slow even with all the things dragging the relic. They moved up the dirt road and both Noah and Yuki would get their first glimpse of the relic, and the exodus of people and creatures pulling it. Uriel gestured Noah to the front of the convoy.
“ If you don’t mind I’d place you both at the front, I’ll be coming up the back of the convoy in case of any issues...my personal soldiers will take care of the sides”.
Now when he said personal guard he didn’t mean the as of yet unknown Vestect Gestalt. But rather a group of 6 body guards part of neither Eisen, nor Verstect. With that things would begin to get underway, as the convoy would make its slow progress towards Mare Maris.
Dravic’s Party Whenever the group would finally make it from the road towards to the actual city proper they would find that there was a bit of a converse to the norm. There was a lot of people trying to get out of the city. Going in seemed to be relatively easy. However for those already in that was another story all together. There was a group of guards who seemed to differ from the norm for lack of a better word “ checking “ people. Each wore a navy blue uniform and had a sort of steely hardened look in their eyes ( if you were one to get that close). It seemed to be a quarantine of sorts. People could still come in, relief workers, traders. But to contain things to the city they seemed to be making sure that nobody with the disease went out beyond the city limits. One example of a person trying to get out was taken aside by one of the men in blue and checked over. The end of which had the guards eyes glow a strange blue. Before the person was rejected for exiting. Presumably some kind of sensing magic.
If one tried to reach out with their own senses to detect just why the person had been rejected. Those with magic senses would feel something akin to a serpent ( in magical terms of course) wrapped around the citizens neck. Once entry into the city had been gained ( you would be approached, informed of the situation within the city and then given the whole “ we take no responsibility for any plagueyou may or may not contract” talk) you would be able to find the central points of this little event with relative ease. Healings going on at centre of town. Blessings at the church which were supposed to protect against the disease. And word of some Relic that had been discovered.
Eclair
A tumble weed would blow by as Eclair, apparently abandoned by the group after she had just stopped talking and moving. Stayed there, perfectly still. One would almost think that this was the city of racoons, baset by another plague from the zombiefied appearance that she was now displaying. Still like a statue, staring into space. Unblinking. Really one hadn’t seen a case of it this bad since a certain woman at the end of the world. Un/Fortunatly no molestation was taking place. Whoops spoke too soon!
A merchant caravan moving out from the city passed on by her. Spotting her rather unresponsive demonor they looked around. Waving in front of her face. The merchant waving at her looked over at his partner sdrivng the caravan.
“ Yo, how much do you think we can sell this ass for in Theden?”.

Both Kimi and Noah was assigned their jobs for the escort of this Holy relic. Both Kimi and Noah was to guard what would obviously be the front. Kimi couldn't help but think as of the reasons why he would place the both of them at the front. It could have been because they were probably considered just mercenaries so their lives probably didnt hold as much worth to Uriel as the life of his own men, or maybe he actually felt deep inside himself that they may possess great strength and would ward off danger when confronted. Whatever the real reason was, Noah was okay with the decision and didn't detest it in the least. Both him and Kimi would nodd before they made their way to the front of where they would be carrying the huge piece with the relic inside. Both individuals walked with a very calm composure as if they didnt have a worry in the world, though one shouldn't get the wrong idea about this Duo. Their guard was up and and awareness heightened by the occasionally shifting of the eyes, Noah being to the right so he would look to the right more often, and Kimi being to the left would look left more often." Sir, how about after this that me and you go sight seeing. I hear that Mare Maris is supposed to be one of the greatest places in the coastal region, and this little situation shouldn't mess that up ". Noah chuckled slightly before looking ahead." First we get this item back, and then we completely fix this plague problem if it's even possible to fix ". Kimi would nodd in response to the Kami's answer.

Having caught up with and now leading The Party Formerly Known as Dravic’s Party, Battousai and his party look upon the sights which are bequeathed upon them due to their surrounding environment. The obvious first noticed event was the fact that people were trying to leave the city, but were being hindered. Odd as it was, it was understandable if the city were in quarantine. It did lead into the question of whether someone would want to willingly go into such a place or not. Witnessing a person being turned away gave the insight as described by the narrator. Battousai was able to sense the serpentine hold on the person who was turned away and with that, had a feel of what the unique signature of an instance of ‘bad’ as opposed to what seemed to be normal.
Instead of entering beyond the disclaimer that was given, Battousai would seek information from the guard who would assist his party’s entrance. Of course, he could ask, but since his good buddy was making him post for him, he would mentally speak out to Dravec to handle his light weighted business. Obediently having already given permission to be controlled by Battousai, Dravec would move draw attention to himself by asking the guard, “do you know by what means the people here are contracting the plague? Is there any information you can tell us for our safety? We have come, after all, at the city’s hail for assistance.” Whether that was true or not wasn’t important. Mentally, Dravec would inquire of his student, “what do you make of this place in your observations” as a way of gaining insight to her spatial awareness.
