“And in the garden they knew nothing of sin, nothing of shame. There was passion but in that passion there was no wrong. For they ere one with their father. Present not absent. They could speak and walk with him in that garden of their dreams. But then came the thorns. The serpent. And to them was brought iniquity. Forever cast out into the shadows”.~ Desperation and Trials
The dawn was but the beginning of the story for many, and the end for even more. But there were some stories that one would not have expected to begin in certain ways, and yet there they are in the shadow of what one would see as the rising of the sun. One such story was the beginnings of the woman who would become the Queen of Mare Maris. Like many creatures, she awakened after the dawn, but it was in a place that she did not belong. A place that was most unfortunate for her to end up in. Most Kami after the dawn had awakened in the place that they would call home, the celestial realm, a place where they would help one another rebuild. Where they would decide to protect what they could from the world below. To explore to love to help. The queen however didn’t begin here. Nor did she begin in Terra.
Her story began in the depths of the most horrible of places. Deep within the broken realm once known as Onitoshi. In the battle before the dusk, many of the Kami had fought to protect their home using what skills they had when the demons from the hells gate began to invade their home. But the end result for many had been death, For others it had been worse, dropping down from the skies above in the battle and falling into the pits of the hells gate. Normally had things gone well, this may have resulted in them fighting their way back out. Or a swift death upon entry by the hundreds of demons waiting to get themselves a piece of kami ass. But it just so happened that when the Queen and her troops fell through the gate. At that very moment. Everything came to an abrupt and violent end.
And when she awakened. She would be in a place far different from what she would have liked to see. From what other Kami had see-
---
Blinked. Fluttering eyes on the edge of consciousness. Like a waking dream, not quite sure where, how who or what. But within that idea of oblivion there was a sense of self. Eyes closed again. Embracing the warmth of sleep. But it wouldn’t last long. Screams tore over that serene sleep of hers. Screams of things that could never be described as human, pain. Death screams. All such things that a new life, a new memory was now baptised in. Oppression. But she was thankfully not the only one to be born into this mess. Not the only one like her.
Other winged ones, other kami had fallen in the same place she was. Not all were so lucky. Some were unlucky enough to land in the lava pits. Others upon spiked spires. But there was a group that had fallen into the land, a crevices of a ruined building. Those there like her knew that there was danger. And despite memories, words being long gone. There was safety in familiarity. The Kami approached the outside. A group of five including the queen. What they saw there was a sight that was beyond the ideas of men. A time to which only demons remember.
In the dawn there was chaos everywhere. But none so great as that in the place of chaos. When the demons awakened. In their rage in their evil in their confusion. They lashed out at one another. There was a time when the underworld was not just a simple desolate wasteland. There was a time when its plains were filled with bodies. Each one awakening from the effects of the dawn. Each one rising only to strike another down. It was a slaughter. And that is what met their eyes. Rivers of blood from demons who knew nothing but their base instinct. Who killed for the simple sheer assurance that they were in fact real. That their hunger for death could be satisfied. To take out the frustration of not being able to know what had came before. It was an image that would scar the mind. A carpet of bodies all cutting biting and slashing one another in to what was, a completely unknowable rage. The Kami made their way across the plains of what was now dubbed as Barathrum Regnum.
Trying to make their way out of the dark realm. Trying to find any glimmer of hope that there was a way to escape this hellish nightmare. But their searching was in vein, one by one the numbers of the group began to dwindle. One died in a demon attack, another a plain accident. The next, suicide over hopelessness. Till finally it was just the would be queen and her last companion. Wordless, in a land of nightmares. Just when all hope seemed to fail. The two uncovered a cavern within the dark land, the cavern would appear to be the root of their hopes. A light at the end of a very dark tunnel. In this place it would seem that the dense and oppressive air that permeated all of Barathrum Regnum was somehow diluted in here, the further that they moved in the less of a weight seemed to be pressed upon their shoulders. The cooler the air seemed to become. With dried cracked lips, and darkened eyes. The two Kami finally emerged from the horrors of hell, and into Terra. Which by comparison seemed like a paradise. There were no monsters here. Well, none that hit with tooth and claw. But that was something they were yet to discover. It was here that they first found water. That they first found words. And in those waters, washed away was the dust of the past. A thirst for freedom. Finally quenched.
---
“In the garden there were things that were forbidden. Fragments of what the fathers knew. Fruit of the gods. Power forbidden to all. And so the serpent came and his name was CHAOS. And he did tell them of ways to become an equal to god. To tempt them to the fragments. To tempt them with iniquity. And so came the dusk of the garden, the end of dreams. The gods would not bare an equal from their childer. And so to the wastelands they were brought. Here in the wastes, they did meet the shadow. And his name was DEATH, and he taught them of their wrong doings. For he had never known the grace of the garden. A lord of the wastes were he had been so long his body had rotted. So long the rot had crumbled to dust. So long that the dust had long since become the sands of the wastes. And quickly, the children forgot”~ Desperation and Trials
----
Like flowers to the sun, the children of the realm of man did flock to the would be queen. She healed, she blessed. And brought with her the grace and beauty she had been long denied in the lower realms. And they did treat her as a goddess. As a mother. And things began to grow around her. Happiness. Acceptance was hers. To her companion she did make a royal guard. And when she was pronounced queen, the ruler of the people. She built her city next to waters, for those had been her liberation. Her freedom. And from her new home she could see those waters, to be eternally thankful for the blessing that they brought. At first Mare Maris was little more than a village, then a town. There was no need for swords and shields nor destructive magic. In the first years of the cities founding it became known as a holy place. The queen and her followers would heal those that came, and in seeking for the healing, those that witnessed it did stay. Quickly it grew around her. But like all things. The larger the light, The bigger the shadow that it casts.
The Queen had seen the evils of this world, they however were far out weighed in her eyes by the good. For she had been a creature who had experienced the darkest of the dark. And not even the darkest things of man could compare to that place that now and again, still showed up within dreams of dreams. But she was not the only one to emerge from that pit. So too began the story of the pophet. A creature whose very mystery lied in his connection with the so called fragments of the old world. The pages of the book of creation. And an utmost mystery it does remain, at his side marching from the pits he brought with him legions of the demonic horde. Corrupting and tainting the south western forest far beyond what it should have been in those early days. Its proximity to the place of fiends would have been bad enough. Had things not crawled out, and made that place their home. To spread out roots, and conduct their plans for this world. And this is where our story begins. To the east, the light. The Innocent Queen of Mare Maris, the centre, the core, medius. The Dark king and his minions. The West, the prophet and his legions of Onikonjou ready to unleash chaos and enlightenment upon the world. A world divided. Carved out among three rulers.
----
South West Forest Region: The Black Citadel, 1 year prior
“ We have tried my lord, yet it is not appearing to be as easy as we first anticipated!”.
The black council had formed. Thirteen seats in an enclosed circled room, at one edge of the circle, a throne larger than the others. Upon it sat the Prophet. Robed, a crow sitting on either shoulder. Watching and listening to the reports of his most “ trusted” servants. The council had been attempting to spread their influence through the lands, spreading out from the west and into Medius. However it became quite clear that once they hit the zone known as the core they weren’t going to be travelling any further. No matter the strength of numbers that seemed to be sent in nothing that went into that area returned alive. So, if you couldn’t go through something then you had to go around it, so they did precisely that. Spreading around the core and into the lands that belonged to the southern tribes and the coastal regions. But their influence was not spreading with their minions. The initial idea had bee to use the influence of humans against them. Persuade them to make deals. Seduce their women. But for some reason in particular the east, they were meeting heavy resistance. Certain members of the human race were giving into their temptations easily but others were not. And the prophet wanted to know why. He rapped his claws upon the obsidian carved chair.
“ Why is it that we are facing such stern resistance from the other humans? What is it that is impeding our efforts?”.
Ultimately the less humans that were under their influence then the less they would hear. The less they heard then the less chance of finding one of the pages was. And the Prophet would not tolerate such things. The pages would be needed for his plan, and the lack of them only opened up chances for others to find them, which would only impede his efforts further. One of the thirteen seats spoke, a rather ugly fellow who resembled a stone like monstrous gargoyle. Albeit with one of his arms being withered and ingrown. “ From the reports I hear my lord Prophet, there are many who believe that a divine being has come down among them...it seems to be the influence of this...eastern star...that is turning people away from the temptations of darkness and more towards the light”. This, was troubling. The Kami were beginning to interfere in things. Had they foresaw his plan? Had they too guessed just what he was up to? He grumbled under his breath and began to think on a way to dam the flow of how things were currently heading. And then it struck him. “ Has this eastern star officially developed any kind of religion?”. There were discussions among the council for a few brief moments before there was a resounding “ no” coming from the one with the withered arm. “ Not that t we are aware of. We know that she is their monarch, but not a goddess”. And this was where it became interesting. The Prophet had an idea of just how to use this kind of thing against the humans.
“ Very well then, we shall change our plan of action, gather our followers, spread the word that this monarch is chosen by the gods, Using this idea we will then gather her followers, grow in popularity....we shall commit acts of charity, feed the helpless, care for the sick and give shelter to the homeless”. There was confusion among most of the ranks of the black council. All bar the one who seemed to be doing the majority of their speaking. The one with the withered arm. “ Feed them poison and tell them that its fruit...a most excellent idea Lord Prophet...However , if we are to start a religion, a following among the people. They shall need holy words, a doctorate to follow”. The Prophet stood to his feet, the crows on his shoulder taking flight and circling the roof of the chamber with an incandescent cawing. “ The words I shall provide, simply ensure that you bring the flesh”.
----
And so it was done, over the year the demons took the form of en, took the form of kami. And spread the “ divine word”. They lured in the followers of the Queen, seemingly no threat to her reign, but rather a people running a successful promotional campaign. After luring in those followers with their good deeds and words of praise for the Queen, the emphasis of the religion shifted more from her and onto the “ will of the gods”. This will, successfully scrawled down in a holy book written by the prophet and a hand scrawled copy given to each and every chapel that had spread throughout the lands of Terra. And the prophets plan was strangely successful. The people ever since the dawn had been looking for an answer. A reason for their existence and here came in the prophet with his book of words and many followers, warped and twisted creatures put into the shells of divine and beautiful forms.
The prophet had his devout and began making the structure of the organisation. His direct followers would be those who were demons, below them were the human recruits. These were to be the main face of the church. They would be those that recruited others. They would be those who could not be suspected to be spirits. Those who honestly believed in the good works of their religion. Below them, the basic followers. The ignorant masses. And the religion was growing more each and every day. The prophets power base expanding each and every day, infecting the whole of Terra, bar the zone known as medius. It was not farfetched to say that the Prophet and his followers were instrumental in the spread of rumours concerning the dark king and the forsaken land known as the core. Particularly the rumours which concerned the moments of the dark king and his army of darkness. When things began to move out of Medius. It began to worry the council of the prophet greatly. Threatening their power base. A meeting was called to discuss the threat, and deal with it appropriately.
---- A week before the events of MoTDK
The sound of banging, mild like the knocking of a door resounded throughout the black citadel as the prophet moved down the hallowed halls of his base of operations. The Black citadel in the early days had been a hasty construction, but over time had been improved using magic and good craftsmanship. The stone of Trra was fine and smooth but lacked the strength, and the intimidation factor that he liked. So, building near the ways to hell gave its usefulness a new edge. He was able to draw up stone from deep within Barathrum Regnum and build himself a fortress worthy of the demonic horde. Of course, magic helped with that. Onikonjou were not always known as the best workers. Slaves to fear and temptation perhaps. But workers. No. The outside of the Citadel appeared to be something out of a nightmare. Black rough stone lining the walls, with orange coals that seemed to glow as if under constant heat jutting out here and there. The inside of the Citadel was slightly more refined. The walls, black Onyx, the floors. Obsidian glass. The floors in particular were an idea of the prophet. The obsidian reflected the person walking much like a mirror. And with some magical fine tuning, he had converted the floor to a sor of draining mirror. Whoever walked down it, if they looked at their own reflection. Would have their strength sapped. All except the prophet himself of course, it was one way of keeping the peons in line.
The council had been called, and he had been called to oversee it. A task whih The Prophet did not find to be a good use of his time. At the moment most of his attention was spent overlooking the progress of the religion, which of course had a subtask of searching for the fragments, the pages. But thus far, there had been nothing. Yet despite the use of resources with what was at the moment very little come back. The Prophet did not think it to be a foolish investment. Zealots had their uses, and eyes and ears everywhere had even more. A sly sneer as the Prophet pushed open the doors to the council chamber. The council members already sat, each of their eyes ( some more than two per head) watching him intently. As he moved through the circle. To the large chair at the back. Taking his seat, he raised a hand. And gave permission for the council to convene the meeting. One of the multi eyed council members seemed to be the first to speak up. “ It is good to see you Lord Prophet. It had been some time since any of us have had the honour of being graced by your presence”. The prophet could not yet determine whether the words of this council member were sincere or sarcastic. Really it could go either way with some of these members. It had been true though the last time any of these council members had actually seen him in person was the meeting all those months ago concerning the founding of the religion. His tiem ever since then had mostly been taken up in writing up the doctrine of this religion and of course keeping the information lines flowing concerning the locations of the fragments. The Prophet merely gave the slightest of nods, and acknowledgement that could honestly go either way. He wouldn’t be seen to rise to sarcasm or be overly penitent concerning areas of respect.
On of he other council members spoke up, this one however didn’t look as if he belonged. Flowing golden hair, white wings at his back For all intents and purposes this one looked like a Kami. But the Prophet knew that this was merely just an illusion to fool the masses. Likely this council member was one of the “ Grand Clerics” of the new religion. Taking on the appearance of a kami to fool those into believing that they wre indeed holy. Although it was surprising, when he spoke. The Prophet was bemused that he knew precisely who this one was. “ Lord Prophet”. Said the Kami like council member. By his voice the Prophyet had identified him as the oni who had the appeareance that struck him as awfully simi, lar to a gargoyle. Which was rather amusing considering his current form. “ There have been whisperings in the villages of the faithful that a dark force had begun its movement towards the west, the dark force merging from Medius”. A dark force? The Prophet could only assume that such a thing came from the forsaken land of the core. That place had for the most part remained a relative mystery to everyone. In the sage areas of Medius you could see the ruins and relics of what had came before. And yet like the monkey trying to catch the moon, one could never touch it, and trying to do so would end up getting you drowned in whatever dark power called that place its home. And if it was emerging, and moving West. Then that meant it was quite possible that whatever was heading that way was going to be coming in a rather close proximity to the south western forest. Which meant far too close to their seat of power. And it seemed that his thoughts reflected those of the entire council. They all began mumbling among themselves debating upon how to deal with this problem. The majority view on the problem seemed to be to form up the demoni legions and march against whatever was heading westward. But the Prophet did not agree on this. The action would draw attention to them, and since they were currently tryingto remain seen by the world as an inactive threat due to their spread of the religion. They could not afford such a clear cut display of power.
“ We cannot march against them”.
He said. His voice sounding out throughout the chamber. “ It would destroy the efforts we have made in our current goals, drawing attention and suspicion where we cannot afford any...our plan of action should be this...first off....I doubt that these movements have escaped the sights of those within Mare Maris either. We should be watching the political climate of these areas and act depending upon the feelings of those within”. The were nods of agreement. An orange haired Onikonjou spoke up. “ My lord...I am the cleric within the parish of Mare Maris....you are correct, there have been rumblings concerning the movement of this darkness...however as they are moving westward and have presented no direct threat to Mare Maris...the Queen had determined that they are currently not a threat, and will not take pre-emtive action”. The Prophet had expected as much, whilst these thigns were just rumours at the moment, they did have many prominent members of Mare Maris government within their faithful. So it was creditable. Going off that and the sheer disgusting innocence of the queen. He knew it was likely they would not be the aggressors in any kind of war between them and anyone else.
“ Very well if this is the case then what we must do is remain hidden, silent, but form an opposition to cut off the dark force and its march westward”
The Prophet placed his hand below his cowl and stroked at the chin underneath, thinking carefully. “ The church should praise the Queen’s peace keeping efforts. But at the same time urge caution among the faithful...we must make them wary of the darkness....keep rumours up and news concerning its progress and make them readily available” Finally and more importantly came the Prophets final plan of action. “ No doubt that most of you would have heard of the Dragon Slayers”. It was the name of a rag tag group that had been circulating about a particular region after a town had came under assault from a rampaging dragon. Dragons were rare creatures, rare and powerful. The average human or indeed spirit didn’t stand much of a chance against the tyrant lizards. “...Ensure that those who own property and live within the areas that the dark force is in the path of are aware of its movements...in particular...make aware those who were known to have slain the dragon weeks ago of just what is happening...if we have people with strength like that...then it may be possible to turn its tide elsewhere without interfering ourselves”.. More discussion among the group. But it seemed that after it they all came to agree with the logic of the prophet. Those who defeated the dragon were powerful and likely would provide more of an offense against the dark march that was no doubt coming down upon them all..

In the City of Mare Maris
Ever since the rise of the dawn Uriel had been with her. And that was his mission, his purpose in life. To be with her and to protect her. She HAD his heart, even if he did not have hers. Which was why he had to do certain things fro her which she could not do. This little meeting being one of them. Uriel was the Queen’s right hand man. She at times, was the perfect example of a ruler. Kind, merciful, fair. But unfortunately, these things were not always the best virtues of a ruler. Even though technically the city was still in his boom growth period, problems had already cropped up from all sides. Evils that one could not really deal with if you only had the merciful option available to you. These problems had quickly became a thorn in the side of the Queen in the early days. Which is why Uriel decided to take matters onto himself and establish the Gestalt group. The queen was the spirit of Mare Maris. The message to the outside world that not everything had to be dark and cold. That the sun did indeed rise in the east. The Queen herself a radiant beacon of good. A healer who walked among he people. The Gestalt. And Uriel. They were the body of Mare Maris. The thing that defended the soul. Whilst Gestalt covered the military forces of Mare Maris. It also encompassed its more shady side of things. The military dealt with the direct threats, and for the most part the Queen determined just what those threats were. The military, were defensive. Not offensive. So its main use in battle was seen against ether bandits or dark spirits that sought to invade and subvert. This was Eisen Gestalt(Iron Body. The other side of things was the group that he mostly took handle of, the one that even the Queen didn’t know about. Assassinations. Covert operations, trafficing with...powerful entities. These were the tasks of Verstect Gestalt(Hidden Body). His side of the Gestalt was essentially the secret police of Mare Maris.
And they were very good at their jobs. The majority of those that actually belonged to his section of the Gestalt group were actually masquerading as members of the public. Merchants, peasants. Ones from all walks of life. It made for effective social cover. The assassinations, dealt with as accidents. And in the past fifteen years no one had suspected that they even existed. Today, was another one of those dark things that he had to deal with that the Queen could enver have her hands sullied in. The dungeons built underneath the cities. In the sewers. A holding cell for some of their darker activities. Rigorous interrogation. A couple of weeks ago a dark force had came to Mare Maris iand had started spreading levels of disease and discord among the good people. And Uriel was determined to get to the bottom of this little indiscresion. Most of these spirits who played the part of these rumour mongers were simply just pawns for greater powers greater owers that would ultimately then be taken care of for the preservation of the peace and for Mare Maris. Torture had been going on for several days now, and whilst you wouldn’t expect the holiest of places on Terra to bethe home of expert torture masters. The Inquisitors of the Gestalt were masters of pain.
They knew how to tweak people, find their weaknesses. Exploit them and even manipulate their feelings into making the torture victim think that they were in the company of friends who wanted to help them be relieved of the burden that came with the truth. It was rather amusing thing to see ven as dark as it sounded coming from one of his own kind. He pushed open the door and the hooded inquisitor was looking up at the rack with what looked like an onion in his hand. A bucket of water at his feet and a balloon. It was...disturbing. One of the things about these inquisitors was that they had long ago disposed of what you would call the more traditional methods of torture and had instead started playing a little game among themselves. Giving each other three random items and seeing what kind of horrific methods they could come up with. And Uriel knew just what they could do with these seemingly harmless items.
“ Lord Uriel”.
Spoke the hooded man in the room with the balloon in his hand. “ We have discovered that the root cause of this mans misdeeds lies within things that he has seen....”. Uriel raised an eyebrow. Things that he had seen? Discord and rumour mongering certainly could be brought about by sight alone. But disease? Were they unconnected? Had he made a mistake? “ What things has he seen?”. The Inquisitor approached the Oni male on the rack and touched his cheek in what would be seen an a serene and caring manner. “ This one has been in the core it would seem...the horrors that he saw there have tainted him beyond the level of normal Onikonjou, yet he is no threat beyond that taint....his mind has been snapped by what has been seen...his corruption is not to be malicious to others...not anymore....but where he steps....the corruption will spread”. Uriel took a step closer. Indeed, there was something different about this spirit. He wasn’t like the normal Onikonjou. Therew as something else in there swimming with the usual corruption. Something below the surface. “ Tell me”. Uriel said. “ What did he see within the core?”. There was silence as the inquisitor let out a deep sigh, stroking the cheek of his victim. Uriel had a great curiosity concerning the things of the core. The gestalt had previously tried to send agents within to see just what kind of things lived there, to see if there was anything within the centre of medius that presented any real threat to them. But ultimately the answer had been kept from him. For the thigs within the core clearly did not wish to be discovered. For every agent he sent, he received nothing, not even a word of hei death. It was as if they simply ceased to exist. He felt for the families of those who died in service to the secret agency of the gestalt group. Those who had children, wives, could not be given any kind of help or compensation despite how much Uriel wished to grant it to them. For to do so would make others question just why they were receiving benefits that others were not. It would eventually come to the queens attention and no doubt risk the integrity of the entre group.
“ I think that is a question best answered by our poor demented friend here...”.
Uriel wondered if the inquisitor was being awkward or if truely the question was best answered by the damned soul in front of him. The right hand man of the Queen leaned over the bloodied ruined body of their prisoner and whispered. “ Tell me of what you saw”. The eyes of the prisoner shot open, they were blank white, as if he had been blinded. He started whisoering and Uriel could barely make out a word until he drew himself closer to the madded secrets of the victim. “.....See upon the bloodied bone streaked road a balack mass of writhing death....it screams and walks upon the dead who are the ones that lie before for nothing does stand away only in the light do they be slowed. In the dark do they now rule in the core do they now see, a man on throne a man once been, a man brings pain, to be his rule”. Giggling. Madness. Then weeping. “ Kill kill kill....there will be nothing left....they will consume us all...no escape...none....just lie down and be among the dea, drown ourselves in the soil we may do....hehehehehehahahahaha urgh...>”> More senless giggling combined with the weeping. It was a horrible sight. The inquisitor continued to stroke the cheek of the mad Oni in front of him and it seemed to bring some simple comfort towards the man. It became ultimately clear that whatever pain the hooded Gestalt member had inflicted upon the demon was in no way equal to the pain that he suffered merely by living. This show of affection was not false. But out of true sympathy that he could not cause any level of agony that matched it.
Uriel turned. Physically sick. “ Put him out of his misery...”. Teh Inquisitor nodded and bowed. “ Yes my lord...as you have said....but know that before...he spoke of that writhing mass moving along westward....the bone streaked road he called it...”. Uriel nodded.
“I will report this to the Queen and see what her action will be”.
II
Two days had passed since that disturbing event in the holding cell. Since the Onikonjou causing the issues had been taken care of. But by the looks of it just like before the oni had only been the symptom of a much larger problem. One that had to bereported directly to the queen Whatever darkness had lain sleeping within the core was now beginning to stri, and it was moving out westward. The Kami could only be glad that it was not moving towards Mare Maris. Such things were small blessings however, and ti only emant that it gave them time to either attack pre-emptively or prepare for an attack themselves. Uriel of course had to think of a way to get this thin out in the open. As of yet only a few people knew of the mans mad ramblings and that was limited to the few that had heard him and ultimately dismissed him before he had been picked up by the members of the Verstect Gestalt And now Uriel had to make these md remablings more common knowledge. So he sent out his members and had them spread the word of this dark army. And it seemed that he was no alone in this. Whether it was coincidence ore mere happenstance the church seemed to be helping with this. They were a world spreading religion and apparently some of their clerics were receiving horrible reports from the west. Many of them were actually coming to him and begging for the Queen to do something. It was a thing that brought a smile to hsi face. The church had influence among the people. It was going to be easier to get the queen into taking action rather than retaining her usual normal passive nature about things like this. With his collective reports on the rumours and the written pelas from the church in hand he marched into the throne room quite intent on seeing if he could get the Queen to give the go ahead on taking action and marching West with the Eisen Gestalt.
The chambers of the queen wern’t really what you would call grant, she was after all a woman of the people and whilst she wore and did have certain things that were givent o her due to her status for the most part she tried to make it so that the majority of her riches were spent on the poor. In Uriels opinion this was the perfect way to be a leader. Not to rule the people, but to serve them. Both to make their lives better and to serve their best interests. “ Uriel”. Spoke the Queen. She was a radiant figure. Long glowing golden hair that reached down to her back. A porcelain face that looked as if it had endured no hardship. A petite frame of a young woman. Despite this, Uriel knew just what she had endured. And respected her all the more for having coming through it as she was. She stood and approached him, hands held out in front her. Then collapsed around his cheeks, slender arms resting against his chest and shoulders. She cupped his face, and kissed his forehead in a traditional greeting that was common to the both of them. He took his own hands, palcing them over hers. Removing them one at a time, planting a kiss gently on the bck of each. “ My Queen”. He said, kneeling before her as he finished. His followers taking kneel after him. She laid her hand upon his head and spoke in that gentle hypnotic voice of hers. “ Stand Uriel, you know that you need not bow to me”. Uriel stood, but shrugged as he did so. “ Formalities must be kept my lady”. He gestured over to a long rectangular table in the chamber, each took their seats. The Queen at one end of the table and Uriel at the other. The Queens attendents took the right side of the table and Uriel’s followers the left.
“ I bring news from the people, and pleas from the church.... A dark force has arisen in the west emerging from the forsaken core....it is said that this force moves further west towards the great forests, as of yet its purpose is undefined...however any who have seen or stood in its way are either dead or mad....the church has many followers fleeing for their lives from the homes that are in the path of the dark march.....and the people are looking to us to ensure their protection...”.
The queen’s brow furrowed. She never did like conversations concerning any sorts of military matters, for the most part she left everything concerning the Gestalt’s to him. But anything concerning actual action, he needed her authority on it. And he hated to ay, but it was a difficult thing for him to get. “ Has this dark march shown any indications of harming our people?”. And there was the question that he had expected. To the outsider it would seem selfish. Self preservation. The truth simply was that the Queen did not want to be an aggressor. And the stories from the great forest indicated that a great many demon followers lived out there. And whilst she was all too willing to help them if they came to her, well. There was always the chance that those evil people had done something to anger those that lived in the core. By helping the guilty, Mare Maris would only be involving itself, and putting its people at an unnecessary risk. “ As of yet, no”. The Queen folded her hands in front of her and let out an apologetic smile.
“ I’m sorry Uriel but we cannot take an aggressive stance on this, thus far the force, be it dark or no has not turned its head towards Mare Maris, for all we know there may indeed be a good reason for these actions. And by moving in pre-emptively we risk our people in a foolhardy venture that we know nothing about”.
Uriel could see where she was coming from, but her nature was unfortunately blinded by her naivety. She wouldn’t take a risk based on good fact, and wasn’t willing tom bend to the will of her people or the pleas of the church if it meant some misguided sense of preservation. “ However that’s not to say that I won’t authorise the increase in defensive measures, you may increase our border forces as well as place more of the men scout patrol just n case there is any sign of suspicious activity around the borders and within our lands”. He didn’t expect pre-emptive action from her, defence was going to be the best that he was going to get from her. So he would take it, frowning on the inside but nodding graciously on the out. She looked to the table however, a tired look to her face. “ I know this was not the answer that you wanted Uriel, and I know that I have been....unhelpful...in the past...but I cannot be seen as an aggressor by the people of Terra... already there are people within our ranks that seek to destroy me...those that distrust spirits and would rather us dead or returned to our own realm....this is my home, and I cannot afford to give them ammunition”. Uriel nodded. “ I understand my queen”.
What he really meant and wanted to say of course was that, yes he understood her position. But being overly passive was as much weakness to these people as being overly aggressive. To be seen as a door mat would make her appear to be a weak leader if anything indeed did go wrong. But thus far it had not, and it was all too lucky for her that it hadn’t. Well luck was one word. Intervention by the secretive members of the Gestalt group had been another more accurate description. Uriel had watched over her from day one, and would continue to do so, but she was making it eternally difficult to do even that anymore. And that is what he didn’t like. With a brief nod, he stood. She looked back up at him as his servants followed suit. He bowed, and she merely stared at him with sad eyes. Did she feel guilty for being like this? Did she not wish to deny him? Or was it something else entirely that was bothering her. He couldn’t really think about it at the moment. He had defences to arrange Turning and walking out of the chamber he would take his leave and move towards the main complex of the armed forces. The Eisen Gestalt and have a meeting with the Generals. Who would no doubt be unhappy about the news.
------
The rumours of the dark king spread by the church of the prophet did reach far and wide, bringing in heroes and warriors, both those who defeated the dragon and others. There was a battle and the Dark Kings purpose was revealed. Albeit too late for the Prophet himself to intercede. . The Page fromt he book of life was found, and when it was unsealed. So where the angry ghosts of the Dusk. Those known as [The Words]. For a day and a Night, the confused lost phantoms did rage, some merely tormenting people, others the rumours were that they had the power to kill. Everything was unconfirmed within the power of that dense mist. What was known though was that this event greatly panicked the people of Terra and made the leaders of the world rather concerned about just what they could do to protect their peoples. Uriel, despite the fortified defences could find no weakness within the phantoms of the mist, unable to stop their advance for the night, until they were banished in the sun. Even the prophet was unable to avoid the barrage of fury that came from the phantoms of the fog. It was a mystery that upon the sun rise caused him to ponder the nature of the pages. And step up his efforts to find the remaining ones. And to do that, he required a plan. And so once more was called a meeting of the dark council in the Black Citadel.
----
A month prior to saga
“ We have managed to translate the words carved upon the trees....walls...and in...flesh...my lord...”.
The event of the phantoms had been most categorised by the lasting mark that these thigns left upo the land, words in the incomprehensible old landguage scarred into walls trees and any other real lasting surface. Even branded into the flesh of certain individuals if rumour was to be believed. Thankfully among the followers of the Prophet and the dark council was an expert on the old world. One who had anaged to decipher their language and was holding the secret to the old world A B Cs to themselves. The council member stood with a piece of parchment in his hand assembly holding the translated script. “ A rough translation at best my lord it states, ‘ In Dusk we Scream’. Well that certainly made some kind of sense considering the actions of the Phantoms. Although the main word that had attracted the attention of the Prophet was Dusk. A counter statement to the dawn, the beginning. Losing more pages was not going to be an option in this case, he knew that the Dark King had already gained far too much power when he had taken that Page. Curiously however he was more concerned about just how much power. When the Prophet had uncovered and unsealed his page of the book, such a thing had not happened. Nothing like that had happened bar his flashback from the past. However, the Dark king...when he had unsealed it...the world itself had come to a stand still. And something like that had happened. The Day the world stopped. Where some pages more powerful than others? If so the only two holders that the world currently knew were outbalanced. And the lord of the core had power the exceeded that of himself. It grinded against his thoughts. Efforts to find more pages
“ We shall use the idea of this Dusk to our advantage, we cannot afford to lose any more Pages of power.....We shall expand the knowledge of the dusk to the followers...we shall paint it as the end of the world...explain that the Phantoms emerged due to the defacing of the gods Artefacts’...”.
There were mumblings among the council. “ But my lord....”. Said the one, disguised as a Kami. “ This will be bringing them far too close to the truth would it not?” Ordinarily the answer to that question would been yes, but he was in a place where that revealing part of the truth gave more of an advantage than disadvantage. He would just spin it in a way that suited him and his needs. And of course the goals of himself and the Dark Council. “ Having more eyes and ears that are aware of the Fragments only works to our advantage. We would simply say that the hands of the un-anointed touching the artefacts would bring upon us another disaster...and lead us closer to the...Dusk....which would be the Gods final wrath...”.More muttering but there seemed to be a feel of overall acceptance around the council members. The Dusk would be an effective tool of control. Fear always was. And if they were able to control the ignorant masses with their religion offering the answer to eternal salvation, well then this was going to be far easier to deal with.
“ There are however Lord Prophet...still some unbelievers...”.
A snake tailed member of the council spoke up with this little point. The raven on his shoulder let out a caw. And a sly grin spread up the Prophets face. “ Then we shall have to make them believe....”.

The Queen had been stressed lately. As had uriel. The two had grown apart, at least thats how Uriel saw it. He blamed her, and she knew that he blamed her. Whatever had happened, a few weeks after the report of the dark force and her denial of taking action. Soemthing horrible happened that effected the entire world. Time itself seemed to have stopped. Frozen in fear, at least thats what Uriel thought. What had happened that day caused even the battle hardened Kami’;s blood to freeze in his veins. First just random out of the ordinary occurances. Noises with no cause. Items being moved. Then, a fog had rolled into the city. And from the fog came phantoms. Horrors. Monstrosities made of the very fog that chased and terrified the locals and soldiers alike. Weapons were ueless against them. For they seemed to be as formless as the fog itself. They had been banished by the rising sun along with the mist, but people had died that night. Whether it was the cause of these ghosts. Or something else entirely was up to interpretation. Most wounded came in with knife wounds or slashes. Uriel suspected that the phantoms themselves were simply terrifying visions. And that people had been so terrified they had struck out at anything and everything around them just to be safe. Such things happened. For out of his own men not a one reported even a scratch from fighting the ghosts.
But he blamed her for everything happening in the first place. He didn’t doubt for a second that the problem had started because of that dark force in the west. [Continued in next post]

SAGA II: Dusk Star Location: Mare Maris Continued Had reported as much. It was a dark time indeed. But he wasn’t going to be there to discuss the problems of the city or to discuss how he blamed her for the deaths in the city. How he blamed her for making the Gestalt look useless as the cities defenders. How she had arguably allowed this to happen with her nature of appeasement. No, their discussion today would be centralised around something entirely different. Something that had been found in the south by the Gestalt scouts. An object that seemed to emanate a powerful positive aura. A holy artefact. Of course whilst he would have just taken it upon himself to collect such things normally. This was going to be both physically and politically dangerous. Several members of the secret section of the Gestalt group were already there guarding it. But he needed the Eisen Gestalt to move out and secure it. And he couldn’t formulate such a movement without the permission of the queen. That alone was going to cause enough of a problem. The appearance of a holy artefact, if this item was indeed such a thing. Would be something that the church would no doubt want to get involved in. Thats of course if the church heard of it. Whilst there were some members among the Eisen Gestalt who belonged to the religion. The secret group had no such issues. Some might have pretended to belong to the church however that was under his own orders, both as an attempt to blend in, and gather information. He required that they had complete loyalty to himself and to Mare Maris. Nothing from outside influences. In that way. They were perfect. Pure. Once again like so many weeks ago he entered the chamber. This time however. He was alone. He didn’t bring attendents. This time he didn’t expect no to be the answer. This time he wasn’t willing to accept no as the answer. The Queen was there, sat seemingly waiting for him. The look on her face pretty much said it all. She knew what was coming. She knew that he had come and that he was not going to leave this time without getting what he wanted. “ Welcome Uriel”. Uriel nodded his head. No b=w, no further formality. Whilst she had always said to him that this was not required between the two. He had always done so. Yet now that he wasn’t. Her face skewed into a look of worry for the briefest of moments .
“ I bring reports from our scouts”. He entered using that term. The idea of hers as opposed to attacking the dark force had been to increase defences and scouting. Amusingly it had been because of this additional scouting that they had found this object in the first place. “ They report to have found something of interest. An object that seems to emanate great power similar to our own but enhanced greatly...The mage among the scouts believes it to be a holy artefact, nights sleeping near it have brought them visions....I have come to....”. His eyes met hers at this moment. He could show no weakness in them. No love. And they held none. The only thing in those eyes was a warning that to deny him this would be a bad idea. “ Request...”. The word itself as superficial. And the wounded look on the face of the Queen said it all. “ That we mobilise members of the Eisen Gestalt and secure this relic”. The Queen gave him a thoughtful expression. “ What dangers do we pose to the city by bringing it into our walls?”. Uriel’s temper flared. Was she considering denying him again? What was she thinking? He kept as calm as he possibly could, simply looking up at her and stating. “ Better question asked....my queen what danger we pose to our people by having such a thing out in the open among our lands...If indeed it is a holy relic....there are many who would seek such a thing and invade our lands to do so...if we were invaded then our people would demand war....”. He didn’t finish that point, The Queen would get it. If the people demanded war and her peaceful attitude rejected such a notion ( again) she would be seen as weak, and undoubtedly would be overthrown. The best place to have such a thing was to remove it from the eyes of the world. And to keep it close. “ I see”. She said, wasn’t much else that she could say in the face of such opposition. “ You have my permission to do so then Uriel”. A smile spread across the face of her right hand man. A smile that wasn’t one of true happiness, but rather the smile of a child who had gotten what he wanted. In reality Uriel was at this point feeling as if all his efforts were going to pots, foiled by the very person who he wished to protect. Yet now he was getting what he anted. The relic would no doubt prove interesting. And if it was related to their power as the mage had suspected, then perhaps they could make some use of it afterall.
The mobilisation however of the Eisen Gestalt to protect the Relic and move it to Mare Maris meant that it was inevitable that word would get out about it. That word would no doubt reach the ears of the church who would have problems with the government holding a relic of such import. No doubt hey themselves would want to take it. But he couldn’t trust religious authorities having a power that could possibly tip the scales in an already fragile political climate. But things would have to be risked like that. They would gain the relic and study its source and whatever power it would have to offer them would serve Mare Maris. Serve him. For ultimately he served the queen. Ashe turned to leave, the worry on the mind of the Queen wasn’t concerning anything to do with the church. The people or the security of her own status. But rather that her old friend was beginning to have the look of ambition in his eyes.
---
AAs Uriel had expected the movement of the Eisen Gestalt had not gone unnoticed within the big players of Mare Maris. And beyond. The church through its many eyes, some of which included soldiers discovered that they were mobilising in an attempt to gain hold of a “ relic”. Whils the reports of it were unconfirmed. Anything that matched the description of an artefact of power. The Prophet was willing to assume that it was a Fragment. A page. There was no way he would permit himself to lose another one. Even if it was not a page, gaining such a thing would pose him no loss. Yet if it was, by taking no action and losing it, he would have lost another advantage to his goals. And so this became the perfect excuse to begin work establishing paranoia of the dusk among the masses. The first move int his was sending representatives of the church to the Queen, proposing that they bring the Holy Relic to the church. As expected this request of theirs was denied. But of course, nothing would be easy like that. By simply allowing them to deny such a thing it opened the door for open condemnation. The Prophet arranged that the weekly blessing given out during churh services be altered slightly into a curse. A modified curse that would strike one in ten people with a wasting disease all too similar to tuberculosis It was a successful plague that moved quickly throughout the city. The Gestalt secured the relic however plans had to be made for actually moving it as it seemed to be embedded within the ground. During the excavation process. The church began its process of condemning the government for interfering with a divine object without the intention of handing it over to the servants of the gods. Putting it that they planned to use it for their own glory and not that of the gods. They began to speak the cryptic warnings of the dusk and the blasphemy of the cities leaders.. And quickly the unrest began to rise in the city. And the Queen began to become unsettled. She and her hand maidens did what they could to stem the tide of the disease but it was speading far too quickly. Those who were healed were going back to the church and ebing reinfected during the recovery process. Leaving their efforts fruitless. All the while the church fanned the flames of religious zealots. Proclaiming that the followers of the church should force the military to hand over the relic. Uriel was finding control among the Eisen Gestalt difficult. For many of them belonged to the church as well. Until one day. It snapped.
One of his captains within the Eisen Gestalt leading several soldiers and citizens of the city ( fuelled by religious fever) in a mission to capture the relic for the church. They were almost successful. Almost. But the relics final line of defence was the Vestect Gestalt. Quickly, and silently eliminating the small rebellion. But it was enough that the direness of the situation became more apparent. Deaths of civilians only stirred up more trouble. And Uriel would not risk the secrecy of the Verstect for them to take an official part in the moving of the Relic.
So a message was sent. Mercenaries were needed. Those whose only loyalty was to the reward that they would receive.

In a village that has yet to be given its true name, there is a building that some might refer to as a temple of vice and sin. There are games of chance being played by both wealthy and average, or middle class, patrons alike. There are scantily clad women in constant rotation. In one section of the establishment, there are well built men seeing to the needs of both male and female patrons alike. Even those who were not faring well in their particular games of chance seemed to be laughing and smiling. This building in this seemingly unknown village seemed to symbolize the very nature of this village.
Upon one look, you notice wine goblets in the hands or at the side of every patron, regardless of them being male or female. You notice the lack of attire on most of the staff, you notice the armed guards and their watchful gaze. You notice everything that you are meant to notice. What you would not notice is the discussion between an information broker and a villainous warlord. You also won't notice the wife of an abusive noble securing poison from the scantily clad female dancing for her. The envoy meeting with a bandit in order to secure intel on the whereabouts of a certain bandit outfit that has constantly stolen from the envoy's employer would go without notice as well.
The stark contrast between what you notice and what escapes you is the primary dynamic of this village. Information and covert dealings pass thru this place like the river that borders it. That is how I designed it after all. My operative network holds a single primary loyalty and that is to my lord, Battousai, but aside from that. Our loyalty is to intelligence itself. Knowing what is going on in the realm presents and sustains powerful opportunities. It is also the way to always remain one step ahead of those who might threaten Battousai. There was an order growing stronger in Mare Maris, a sort of faith based organization. They were never of any concern to me b/c they never got in my way and I do not exist as far as they are concerned. Unfortunately, the network brings me news that I was not looking forward to hearing.
Timeline: Current Inside the building there is an upstairs room made of "magically shrouded glass" that allows me to see what everything happening beneath me in the main sections while no one even knows that the room I am currently in exists. A secret door leading into the room opens and a rather young male with gentle features and a suave air about him enters. My voice speaks without sound, "What news have you to report, Cinos?" The young male leans up against the wall casually and fills me in on the current situation as reported by my operatives currently in the field. He continues, "I do not believe you can continue to ignore this situation. Rumors of a holy relic could equate to a weapon of sorts. One that could pose a threat or significant opportunity to Lord Battousai." I nod my head while remaining seated in meditative position. Cinos remarks, "I hate it when you do that." There is a dagger at his throat. Telepathically, my voice calls out to the one wielding it, "Mirage, what have you to report?" She tells me that there are rumors of something called the Dusk that is spreading fear among the populace from all walks of life. She continues further, "Also this order of zealots in Mare Maris have started speaking out rather boisterously against the Queen and her ability to handle a plague that has struck her lands. There is much unrest in the region. This could prove problematic." Nodding my head, I issue orders, "Mirage, locate Jay'de and bring her to Theden quickly. Cinos, send word to the operatives in Mare Maris. I must inform Battousai, but if there is unrest in Mare Maris, I want to know the cause of it. Keep things running smoothly here while I'm gone."
With orders issued, I would be gone from the unknown village en route to Theden where Battousai was currently visiting Yuki. This whole holy relic protection and transport business soundly like an interesting trip and valuable opportunity to gather intel on different entities of note and begin my assessments.

On their way to Mare Maris was a group of individuals, totaling to about 222 people . Walking ahead of these people was a woman and what appeared to be a child half her size. She wasn't tall, but it was quite obvious to tell that she was an adult. She possessed unique armor, which was custom made for her by the armory in Inanis which was south east of Mare Maris. They marched with a determined look on their faces, going out to achieve something today. The Kid that walked alongside her like a partner, though there was something quite unique about him. He possessed bandages going around his head as if he had mouth problems and came from some kind of medical expert dealing with teeth. The supposingly determined look mixed with this odd look made his expression quite commical, though there was a reason for this, and even for while they were traveling to Mare Maris.
Yesterday Noah had his back turned to Kimi, trying to ignore everything she had to say." You know! this isn't being mature Noah! ". The Kami gave a slight shrug as he continued to ignore her. " Look! we got to go to Mare Maris! there are some very disturbing things traveling around there that has me worried...people are becoming sick and even though the message asked for Mercenaries, we should at least go check it out ". Noah shook his head before actually turning to Kimi." That note had a reward, they are basically looking for hire hand thats all. We're not hired hands...we produced enough and still produce so much that allows Inanish to flourish...a measly award isn't worth the time... and plus People get sick everywhere...hell this morning I sneezed like 3 times, where's my sympathy ". Thats when Kimi's cheeks puffed out like a puffer fish." Noah! that's not fair! you can't compare the two in such a way! ". Thats when something...an idea came to her." I got it! we can go, and show our support for them through whatever issue that they're going through. We can take a few workers with us to aid in transporting items, items that may be useful. Look Mare Maris is a nice place, and the queen like yourself is a beacon of light. I don't want to go alone, but I will if I have to ". Thats when Noah shook his head." Kimi...you know I'll always have your back. I just dont find this necessary ". He couldn't hold his ground against her expression, as if she really wanted him to change his mind. It was one of those things where a significant other would do that made it almost impossible to resist. The guilt built up in an instant which caused Noah to facepalm himself." Alright...". And right when he said that, Galatea came running from out of no where and jumped in the air with her feet out. She would land the kick on it's mark which was Noah's face, kicking him into a bunch of crates." Oh my goodness! Galatea what have you done!? ". Galatea looked to Kimi and then the broken crates that had Noah's body in it." I thought he was being unreasonable...wait did he agree to go with you ? ". Kimi nodded quickly." YES! ". Galatea would then place her hand over her mouth and look away." Oops...".
Moments after that little event, Noah and Kimi could be seen prepared with a party of 220 people. Some of them carried their materials just in case the situation may called for it. Noah had the bandages around his head, and so that is how that happened. " We're going to go there, and Aid Mare Maris...this may actually be a great opportunity to make good with the place. I can care less about the queen, but the opportunity itself may be worth the venture. Everyone is set ? ". Kimi nodded before looking to the sky with a determined look." Today We march with Unshakable Faith ". Another individual within the group nodded." May the blessings of the heavens be upon us ". A few of the individuals said what they wanted to before Noah began to speak." Alright, we're set...Galatea you take charge of Inanis while Im gone. Something happens get the message to me immediately. If anyone comes looking for me then direct them to Mare Maris ". There was an understanding before Noah and the group began to walk off." Be careful ".
Present The party traveled by foot because Noah couldn't warp everyone, and even if he could it would have been out of place if a bunch of people just suddenly showed up in Mare Maris, so they made the frontal approach.

The Progress of the Dark King
“Media---play---“
One of the creatures in brown robes looked over the piece of machinery in front of them. Ever since the incident with the page, the Dark knig had been attempting to reactivate the weapon known as the Divine Purge, unfortunately however due to a total ignorance of the machinery of the old world. The Dark King and his cohorts had no idea how it functioned beyond knowing that this machine, this computer. Controlled it. However learning how to use it was something that was becoming more difficult by the day. The Dark King had learned early on that the machine in front of him wasn’t going to respond to pain like organic beings. Which was going to make his job more difficult. A few weeks ago he’d managed to find the on button and when the light from the screen engulfed the room (as it seemed the divisions generator was still running) the minions of the dark king ran in terror believing that the gods were delivering them a message. After a process of trial and error he also seemed to have found that the mouse moved the pointer on the screen, and whilst the language in front of him was semi incomprehensible. One of the words looked familiar. “ Media”.
The Dark king, naturally assuming that this represented Medius. Thought he might have been onto something. So he clicked on it. Which in turn brought up the last thing that had been watched on “ Windows Media Player”. The title of the file, whilst again, incomprehensible to the people of the post dawn world. Would read “Division’s Favourite Security Feeds”. Before them started playing out several scenes, the first was just a blank corridor, then someone tripped over a plant pot falling flat on their face. One of the minions who had came back into the room began to chuckle. The Dark King stroked his chin. “ Truely this is a powerful relic...a “ window” into the past...however...it is not the function of it I desire...”. He went to click off the player before the next scene stareed playing which caused him to freeze, a man having sex with a woman with purple hair. There were some “whoo!”’s from the background. The scene switched again, this time it was another woman with brown hair. Same guy. One of the minions piped in with a wolf whistle. “ This dude is a player”. The dark king, oddly intrigued nodded in time.
“ Indeed”.
The image shifted to the “ player” in a large important looking office. The woman he had been previously havin relations with seemed to be coming onto him. Right before he whacked her across the face with an open hand. A minion chimed in again. “ Keep ‘in his pimp hand strong!”. Another chimmed in with. " Maybe his chicken was cold?".The image at this stage appeared to be on a loop with the man repeatedly whacking the woman over the face. Chuckles from behind before it shifted to a man in a Victorian outfit chasing what appeared to be a garden gnome stealing a plate of sandwiches.
“ Enough of this foolishness...”
The Dark King said. Banishing the small brown cloaked creepers, “ I seek a weapon not a source of entertainment!”. At which stage the dark king whacked his fist onto the keyboard, the screen went blank bringing up an error notice. Not that the Dark King could tell.
“ Gods be damned!”
He yelled before returning to his work trying to uncover the secrets of the activation relic.

Their travels soon would come to an end when they approached the Walls of Mare Maris. It was best that the person who would be seen as the leader approach the gates first. 55 of the soldiers had weapons, 35 Swords and 20 long ranged weapons such as bows, but they did not wield them in the sense that gave the appearance that they were invading, more so acting as guards for Kimi, Noah, and the Workers that was brought with them. The formation of the group was all the workers in the center, Both Kimi and Noah up front with Kimi moving more ahead of Noah, and going all around the Workers were the soldiers. The only area that was somewhat exposed was the very back which was due to the carts used to lug the materials that were brought with them. This originally was Kimi's choice to take on this operation, so he allowed her to act as leader until the situation caused for a change. For now he would be the little boy that was apart of an assistant group despite the regional recognition that he possessed. Not many outside of Inanis knew the actual figure head that lead Inanis, or the council consisting of different and yet the same individuals. They would come to a halt when they approached the gate and waited for someone like a guard to approach them." It's been awhile since I've been here... last time I was here, I met...well Balmung met Yuki, and they traveled to a near by village and fought this beast of a man...". Kimi looked to Noah with an expression that showed that she knew what he was talking about." Oh! Balmung told me about that. That Zelel fellow ? ". Noah nodded before looking ahead again." The strongest Human I've ever done battle with I swear...I dont even know if he was truly human...for some time he tossed me and Yuki around like rag dolls ". He laughed slightly, while waiting." What ever happened to him ? ". Noah rubbed the back of his head before closing his eyes and laughing nervously." He escaped ". Kimi's jaw dropped in an instant at the idea of a Human as strong as Noah and Yuki, if not stronger than the two of them still being out there." Don't worry about it, I don't expect to be seeing him again. We kicked his butt big time...more so after he kicked our butts for awhile ". Again Noah would rub the back of his head and laugh nervously. Kimi brought her hand up and slammed it against her face, facepalming herself at his words. Facepalming was something that both Kimi and Noah was known for in Inanis." Anyways, we're here to check up on them and assist, so no wandering off for other activities unless told to ". The guards and Workers would nodd with what was said.

Mare Maris: Yesterday
In the midst of so much travesty, a young woman, with hair the color of flames, gazed out the window of the lushly appointed room, in a small Inn. In the midst of such pain and misery, a happy event was to occur. On the morrow, in the midst of such a plague, a special event at the church of the prophet. The young woman turned her head and glanced at the bed. Resting upon the coverlet, a gown of the richest quality. A soft pale yellow, with a train at least six feet long. The flame haired woman, rose from her perch at the soft cushions over the window seat, and made her way to the bed. Her gentle hand, skin as soft as polished marble, reached out to touch the gauzy material of the dress. It was beautiful, and befitting. A smile touched the slender face of the woman as she stroked the material longingly, tenderly.
Lovingly she picked up the dress by the shoulders and held it up to her lithe frame and swirled around to face the full length mirror. The soft yellow so close to white dress, was accented with black lace and trim. It flowed down her body and hugged her hips. She had tried it on for the seamstress and it was form fitting until it reached those lush hips and then it fell in a pool of silken material. Two long, elbow length gloves and to black knee high boots, would complete the outfit. Gerret helped her pick it out, although there was no friendship there between the two of them, they were here for a certain reason. And would have to learn to get along.
Gently she laid the dress back on the bed and started to fold it. Making sure to keep the creases out. A shift of a shadow in the corner alerted her to a presence and she did not look up. "Jonah. Thank you for coming. I have an important question for you. I have no family, no male relatives." At this point she finished her folding and placed the dress back in the chest at the foot of the bed. Turning on her heel, she glanced at the shadow, "Would you do the honor of giving me away tomorrow?" Her red eyes stared hopefully at the man in the corner of her room.
Mare Maris: an hour ago
Her dress was slipped over her head and pulled down by a few women that were crooning and sighing. They had all seen the groom to be and were fawning at over how lucky she was. Those red eyes glanced up at the woman that was Jonah's wife, Gerret. They did not know the truth of the matter, that two beings of opposite nature, forbidden to love each other, were going to be joining in the sacred bonds that could not be broken by no man, spirit, or other being. Til death. And Sera was nervous. Gerret had agreed to be her matron of honor, mostly because her husband was also Jack's Best Man and the one giving her away.
The woman behind her tied the laces of the corset, tight and Sera's gasp of breath made the women giggle and twitter. They praised her slender body, near perfect as they continued to help her dress while Gerret stood overseeing. Her hair was pulled up and back, so that it cascaded like a waterfall of fire over her shoulders and down to her waist. A soft gauzy veil was placed on her head, and small soft yellow flowers were woven into the flaming tresses. All of the wedding party appeared to be nothing more than humans getting married, even in this time of trial and plague, the people needed something to celebrate.
As she looked at herself in the mirror, her hand reached across and rubbed her abdomen. Gerret and Sera locked eyes for a moment. It was a woman thing. Nervous butterflies, all women had this kind of thing. The point was to keep the bile from rising during this moment of nervous tension. Gerret shooed the women out and looked at Sera, who looked back at the reflection in the mirror. "Perfect" was all that was said.
Mare Maris: Current
Sera moved out of the room they were using to get her dressed in, Jonah standing there and offering her his arm. Down the hall they were led, to the doors to the main area of the Church. Soft music was playing, and as the doors opened, it changed into something different. All eyes were drawn to her and Jonah. She had taken his arm and slowly he led her down the aisle towards the man waiting upon the altar. The ring bearer being first in the procession, followed by Gerret, then the two of them. It felt like a lifetime before they reached the altar, when it had only be a moment.
She looked perfect in the soft yellow, almost white, dress. Her gloves had been discarded at the last moment on a whim. Thus allowing the terrible scar marring that perfect skin, to be seen to those around. But there weren't many here to see the small elopement. That is what they had done, just a hand full of them had come to Terra for this strangeness. The true union of a Kami and Oni, but to those not in their little party, they were nothing more than humans.
The flame haired beauty stopped in front of the stairs leading up to the altar. Jonah then offering her to the husband to be. Upon accepting her hand to help her up the few small steps to the alter, she would squeeze that hand and stand beside him facing the altar and the priest presiding. Her heart beat frantically in her chest.

Time moved swiftly in the days following the completion of the collaborative’s life goal. As things had turned out, Jin had lived his entire life for the sake of gaining revenge for the murdering of his family and just recently that goal had been realized. The traumatic experience led to him creating various personas in an effort to limit his interaction with reality, but now in an irreversible situation, he found himself physical detached from these personas. He inhabited a discarded body, magically feeding as a living parasite off of the magical essence of the persona that had been the primary guardian of their existence up to this time being.
For the time being, Jin would be living comfortably with his second family on the outskirts of Mare Maris. Battousai, however, the pillar of strength that had protected them for so long, found himself within the confines of a village partially built and managed by one of his underlings, a disciple by the name of Yuki.
When he, Dravec and Yuki had first come to the village, it was nothing more than a ran sacked settlement, raided and occupied by bandits. After a deep cleaning and a little tender loving care, the village was growing into what some could call a town, and at a rapid pace. After the defeat of this livelong nemesis, Battousai and Jyn opted to return to this, the former with the intentions of gathering up resources to venture into the lands scouted by Dravec to build up a similar yet grander settlement therein. After being retained the first night and resting, Battouasi awoke to offer a mission to his second disciple, a young woman by the name of Sera, before convening with Yuki about the plans to proceed forward from this point on. Plans were made to leave in the evening, but such plans were delayed to later days due to the inclement health of the samurai who for some reason felt constantly drained of stamina. The reason behind such would be the sheer fact that he was supporting two other basically zombified life forms at full health upon his strength alone across a spanned distance, but such details were unknown to him as he hadn’t fully understood the situation between himself and the other personas.
With the arrival of the morning, he would awaken after sun rise and proceed through the particularities of cleaning, feeding and clothing himself within loose fitting white garments and a black scarf that trailed his movements almost as a cape. In taking an internal inventory of his current health, he would sit and meditate for some time, working on stamina revitalization techniques that seemed to offer him some relief from his tired feeling. After having prepared for the day he would be found exiting the Silver Fang Tavern where he had been boarded by the current leader of the city, Yuki, and would proceed in the direction to the young wolf’s above traveling at a saunter with his arms folded through the village streets.

Current: Dawn
The waves crashed against the rocks of the sheer cliffs. The sun was riding the crest of the waves and breaking against the shore of night, chasing the darkness away with its beautiful light. A war on the ocean, red flames streaking across the sky, destroying the deep shades of voilet, turning them pink in the morning light. Clouds floated by, their colors rapidly changing with the breaking morning. A gentle breeze, wet and heavy with the ocean's salty water, blew in from the sea, pushed up the cliff face by the rushing tides. It traveled up the cliffs and over the rocky faces and onto the land. Spreading the saltiness into the grasses of the open plains.
From the south, the desert sands rustled and moved around in their timeless fashion. Scenery changed and flowed almost like the ocean to the cliff face. An ocean of sand and nothingness this was. A harsh environment, full of strength and roughness. But like the sun breaking the Moon's reign, so did the Moon break the rule of the Sun. Two places with so much similarities, yet too opposites. Over the ocean of water, the Moon ruled with its tides and chilling cold, that seeped into a man's bones. In the sea of sand, the Sun ruled with its harsh strength, burning all those that were too stupid to understand the climate. Like Yin and Yang, they existed and it was here at the edge of this cliff face, that the two winds met.
A meeting of the harsh, dry sandy breeze, and the wet salt water bellows upon the land. And standing in the midst of the rising storm was a young maiden who had seen 17 winters. And winters were known to last a lifetime in the north, just like the summers lasted a lifetime in the south. Another instance of yin and yang. But to this maiden, with hair as white was the winter snows that fall in deep trenches, and eyes the color of polished jade, it was all about balance. Life itself showed balance. She had been studying on her own, the effects of balance in the natural world. She was the student of Master Hunter. And had been learning a great deal from him. But both of them were loners, use to doing things on their own.
With this in mind, she had taken a few items for study out to the spot that was her favorite in all the world. Jay'de had learned the lesson that it was not good or evil, chaos or order, but a balance there in that allowed the world to exist. She had been out here but a few days, her little campsite, easy enough to find. She sat on a rock that jutted out and flipped slowly through a tome as old, if not older than herself. Scribbling notes as she read. But one of the scrolls in her possession was more on her mind, than this text. One that was written in the language of the ancient times before the dawn. If only she could figure out how to decipher that. It would be a break through. But first, her real lessons.
It was deep into the thoughts of balance that she made a comment as she continued to scribble her notes. "Good morning, Mirage." the young maiden did not even need to look up to know that the woman was now standing a few feet from her. "Master Hunter must be requesting my presence. But where this time?" A single word was her answer and she looked up. The woman was gone as was her way. That was also normal. In the few weeks that they had met, Jay'de had begun to truly mature and blossom. Slowly she packed up her camp and her books. With a heave, she was astride her gelding. A simple tug of the reins and she was heading southeast. A small map in hand. What was left by Mirage before she left. A simple drop that most would not notice, would not see. A switch of hands so fast, that it would never be known by those looking on. But since Jay'de was alone, no one had to worry about such.
Current: Mid Morning (Theden)
The young woman could be seen coming from the Northeastern paths towards the small village of Theden. She was riding a white gelding at a gallop. Her snow white tresses fanning out behind her. Jay'de cut a stunning figure with the powerful animal being controlled by a mere shift of her slender thighs, visible through the slits of her dress as she chose to ride straddling the horse instead of side saddle. Her hands held the reins loosely as she looked over a scroll, multitasking. She had made good time with this gelding. It was a huge beast that was as graceful and powerful as the magics that one days she would possess.
She wore a dress of red black, with the same colored boots, coming up to her knees. Her arms were covered in a cloth glove that matched the coloring of the dress and boots. Held to the dress, connected by elaborate gold fastenings, and flecks of jade that matched and brought out the color of her eyes. If she was not stopped, she would slow to simple trot as she came to the edge of town, those eyes looking about for her teacher and master. No weapon adorned her person.

With the rise of the sun the half-breed woke from his slumber with a soft grumble, unfortunately the job of leading a village had forced him to raise rather early in the morning since it wasn't proper for the leader of an entire village to sleep in at his leisure. Rolling out of bed Yuki begins to get dressed as he glances around his room for a brief moment. As he slips his pants on Yuki thinks upon what the day will bring for him, the day before his sensei had arrived in the village which was a rather pleasant thing since he had not seen his sensei in some time and was offered time to catch up, however it seemed as if his sensei was not in the best health, or at least under the weather something that considered the half-breed. While the half-breed works on getting dressed a knock echoes through his house, coming from the front door. Hearing the knock from the front door Yuki shifts his attention towards the door leading into his room as another grumble escapes him. Following the first knock another comes and as the second knock echoes through his house Yuki begins to move from his bed and make his way out of the room as he calls out, " I'm coming. " the half-breed says as he brings a hand up and rubs his face. With the word from half-breed the knocking on the door stops. As he makes his way to the door Yuki wonders what would be on the other side, though the most likely thing would be something with the village, it couldn't be some hot female looking for shelter or something along those lines. Coming to the door Yuki pulls it open and is met with the sight of a Theden guard standing outside waiting. As the door opens the guard perks up and looks to Yuki, " I'm sorry to disturbed you sir but a matter of importance has come up. " The guard says as he extends his arm and offers a sealed letter to Yuki. Looking to the guard as he speaks Yuki listens to him and as the guard offers the letter Yuki glances down at it as he reaches out and takes it from him, giving a faint nod, " Alright. Thank you. " Yuki says to the guard after taking the letter. " Shall we keep an eye out for any one suspicious coming to the village? " The guard asks as he watches his leader. Hearing the guard Yuki pauses for a brief moment, thinking upon his question before he gives a faint nod, " Yes. Follow the normal plans for suspicious strangers. " Yuki says to the guard as he wonders upon the letter and what it could be for. The guard gives a faint nod, " I shall spread the word to keep an eye out for messengers and the like and let you know should something come up. " The guard says before he turn and begins to walk off. Yuki gives a faint nod to the guard as he finishes speaking and as the guard leaves he pulls back into his house and pushes the door shut as he lets out a soft sigh. With letter in hand Yuki moves from the door and makes his way over to his chair before he sits down and begins to open the letter. Pulling the letter open, Yuki takes out the contents and begins to read over it. Shifting his gaze Yuki scans, reading bits and pieces of what seem to be news of plague in Mare Maris which has caused unrest in the city, though such a thing seemed rather unfortunate for the city at first as he read the letter the half-breed seen no reason for him to become involved in the matter, however as he scans over the bit about the military seeking mercenaries then his interest begins to grow at the thought of doing some work for pay. After reading over the note the half-breed knew he had to speak to his sensei about this new matter. Raising from his seat Yuki slips the slip of paper into his pocket as he heads back to his room to finish getting dressed.
For the time being the half-breed remained inside his house as life around his house goes about as it does everyday with the villagers going about there daily tasks as normal. The rather large white wolf Ulfric, a strange sight within the village, walked the streets minding his own business as he waited for Yuki or something interesting to catch his attention. The approach of the woman on horse back is noticed by the guards and as she draws closer a ranger draws back an arrow in preparation to fire incase such a thing was needed and as the ranger gets ready to open fire if needed one of the guards calls out to the white haired woman, " Halt, who goes there?! " The guard calls out as he sets his gaze upon the mounted female as she draws closer. Though the ranger had drawn back an arrow on her bow she stood ready to open fire if things went bad but from the sight of the woman on horse back she was no thread since she had no weapons.

Mare Maris ( Yesterday)
Gerret had for the most part went along with the whole marriage thing without question. Truthfully the leader of Sloth didn't much mind the fact that Jack was marrying. In fact she thought it would probably be a good thing using it to calm him down a bit. It had certainly worked with Jonah. Speaking of the leader of fear, Jonah had been called to see Sera and had wondered just what the entire thing was all about. Right up till she had asked him that little question. Jonah at this stage took pity on her. Not that he showed it through his face. Stoney as ever. This girl had no one to walk her down the isle and now she was asking a demon of all things to do it. He wouldn't refuse the request. " Of course". He nodded, giving a mild bow. Before taking his leave of the room. The Leader of fear had to wonder just what Jack was going to think of this one. Although then again it didn't really matter much.
Jonah was more concerned about just what was going on in the city. And the better question of just what Ceila was doing.
An Hour Prior
Gerret had been helping the girl get ready and she was actually enjoying it. It reminded her of her own wedding day, well that had involved less dresses and more ritual mutilation on the part of the Bridal party but it was a nice occassion all the same. Doubtful up here in Terra that they could be doing anything like that. Jonah had gone missing for a bit earlier. He told her that it was nothing but there was that look in his eye that only a wife could really know. There was something that was bothering him. She could feel it. Regardless the whole dressing went well and when she finished and spoke. Gerret nodded.
" You look beautiful".
Present
Jack was standing there waiting at the alter and honestly had to admit that he was getting the pre wedding jitters. Less about running out the door himself and more about her flying off. The last time she had taken a one way trip to Terra she'd ended up almost having herself killed...well by him. Yes. But that was down to an entirely different set of circimstances that probably wern't appropriate to think about on ones wedding day. She came walking down the isle and he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. All his life leading up to this, one very very strange moment. Jack as of now looked more or less precisely as he had before dying. It was the effect of his mirrored eyes. Only Sera saw him as he truly was. As it should be.
With Jonah giving her away ( Another unexpected twist to the game). He took her from him, nodded to the leader of fear. And the ceremony began....

SAGA II: Dusk Star Character Posts: ::Belmont:: There were a lot of things that got on Belmont's nerves. One was paper work. That had ben in no short supply as of late. Another. Was the overwhelming presence of spirits. Another thing that he'd had to deal with lately. There had been no short supply on work for him, or any of those members from the spirit hunting task force. And with each spirit slain more paper work was required from him to describe in great detail each and every moment of the hunt and kill. And that was begining to become tiresome. But he knew that it was for the greater good. One day they might have to face a group of spirits and look back on the archieves to see how they were dealt with before. Or what mistakes previous Remnants had made. And there were a mountain load of mistakes that one could easily be learned from. And he had taken the time to make sure that he did. Belmont may have been a dead man, but he was a dead man that had no great intention of just laying down in his grave. At least. Not just yet.
Placing down his pen on the table he noticed that there was one final note on his desk. One that had been sent from the higher ups. He opened it up and it began to talk about the plague that had been ravishing the city ever since they had uncovered that " relic". According to the letter there was some suspicion that due to the cases of relapse. That this was less a very infectious disease, and more the work of a demonic curse. Which placed it into the domain of them to investigate. The moment that he finished the letter he sent a runner off to fetch Kitsume for him. This was going to require some leg work. And he could get some use of the fresh air.

It had been quite some time since I had actually been IN Theden. Sure, I have stopped by several times to deliver reports to Battousai or to receive tasks and missions from my lord, but not much more than that. I was often busy and besides, I tend to prefer moving and working than remaining rooted. An enemy can never learn enough from you if they don't have a solid place to start looking. Appearing inside the village, I do not move from my position for a moment. I just wait for maybe a full minute before I nod and move again. I create an orb of spatial energy within my hands and scan through it. Searching near the most logical place, the main tavern, I search for... found him. I retract the viewing energies a bit before I vanish from my current position. Within a moment, I would appear at my lord's flank. Silent in voice but I am sure that my presence would be felt by my lord without the need of verbal announcement. As soon as he acknowledges my presence, I would speak in my normal soft tone, "My lord, preparations are in order at the village. There are no further hindrances to your arrival. Mirage is en route there now to make sure that everything will be ready for your arrival, so you will be home soon. Before we can see to that tho, I have news from my network in Mare Maris. There have been many recent developments and they seem to stem from a recent surge in the influence of that cultish order that claims to interpret the will of some gods or whatever. Apparently, they have grown in power and boldness as well as they have been speaking out against the Queen and how she is handling the situation there."
From that point, I would fill him in with the main points of what has transpired. While I am aligned with Battousai and his ideals, I cannot shake my residual loyalty and concern for Mare Maris. The Queen is a very gentle and benevolent spirit. Still, such attachments also stood to threaten Battousai's position. We had not fully established his base of operations, his army had not been fully formed and trained, and while my network would ensure that we have advance knowledge of any reprisal from aiding the Queen, they could currently do little to hinder the advance. That thought just provided another benefit to traversing to Mare Maris as well as a trip south to do some... recruiting. My network needs to be both a recon and intelligence gathering group, but also a wetwork group able to act at any given time.
After fully informing Battousai, I would inquire, "Do you agree that we should investigate this relic, my lord?"

Multiple guards approached them holding their hands out to Noah's crew as to stop even though they wasn't advancing." Who are you and what are you doing her ". Kimi would step forwards just one step and stop, showing that she was the commander of the crew." We're here from a Neighboring city in the south east. Im Kimi, commander of Inanis Armed forces and we're here to answer to the call sent out by Mare Maris not too long ago. We're not Mercenaries, not doing this for any reward, but for the idea of helping out a neighboring city ". The guard would look at them with a suspicious look, but then one of them remembered Inanis." OH! That place ? Isn't the leader " The other guard would hold his hand up so the other guard would shush. He was basically scanning them with his eyes, something of which Kimi could pick up on in an instant." There are 55 Soldiers with us, more so to guard our party giving the situation. Rest assured not enough to cause any sort of problems. The rest are our workers, here to assist in possible construction if needed, or to aid us...". The guard nodded slightly before looking to the kid." OH! and that's my son ". Noah heard that, and felt his body freeze up before falling over in a comedic way. He couldn't believe she just went there, but there wasn't much he could do at that moment so he would have to just roll with it. After they finished with the check, They would open the gates and allow Kimi and her party access to Mare Maris." Welcome to Mare Maris, and thank you for coming. We truly appreciate it ". They all would nod at the same time and then continue on into Mare Maris." I doubt we would be allowed audience with her Majesty, so I guess we can take a little break until we encounter the one that sent us that message ". Right when Kimi finished that messaged, Noah would kick Kimi in the shin, though it would have no affect due to her armor." Oh come on Noah, you look like a little brother in that form. Don't be upset with me. If it means anything Im sorry okay ? ". Noah would turn his head quickly. What the two didn't know, was at this point in time, the ultimate form of betrayal was going on between Sera and Jack. As they walked the streets of Mare Maris, they increased the distance slowly but surely from them and the location of where Jack and Sera was getting married." Despite the reason as to why we're here... I feel like this is going to be a great and unique day ". Kimi was kind of surprised to hear him say that, but also glad too.

The day dawned and cracked the night. And still the night was feared. There were reasons that humans feared the dark. And over the last few days, some of those reasons had surfaced. Death was one of them. Humans in their weakness fear death above everything else. And in a rolling fog, that fear had come at them. But like every night, dawn cracked the surface of that fear and brought hope, and life. A reprieve from the death and fear, if only for a few hours.
Kitsume did not know how to fear, had no fear of the dark, no fear of death. So did that make her one of those that came out of the fog. Sometimes, she seriously thought the humans should fear her. She was a silent death to some, a full frontal assault to others. And still her thoughts ran to the dark and what lay within, waiting, watching. Kitsume wondered if the dark would one day bring her own death. Did she fear it, no. For her death would come too late. She was already dead. Her own personal morbid joke. Damn she was starting to sound like Belmont.
Shaking her head and clearing the fog in her brain, the cyborg looked down from the sword tip she was balancing one. She was training a few raw recruits from the actual military of Mare Maris. Because of her short stature and petite build, they had decided to laugh instead of listen. So this little demonstration was with one of the stronger members of the Remnants. Like Belmont, he was able to raise the swords from the ground and she was now balancing on top of the tips of those swords, getting ready for an attack. They had been going at it for an hour. The new recruits, stood with their mouths open.
So much for being the short shit around here. At this point, the runner that had been sent for her approached and the defense of the Remnant fell as she lept from the swords. Kitsume spoke with the runner and grabbed looked to the four recruits and back to her opponent. "Run them into the ground. They can rest when they cannot move a muscle." With that order, Kitsume, a captain of the Remnants, was summoned into the office of Belmont.
It didn't take long for her to reach Belmont's office and knock. Upon the order for entrance, she would enter and slide onto the corner of his desk, facing him. Her legs near his as she smiled. "Good Morning, Sir" Today she was in the usual garb and uniform for a Remnant, but at least these were more of a feminine cut. Apparently she had been to see a seamstress to get that handled. "You summoned?"

The guards halted her at the gate and trained their weapons upon her. They seemed to be female and her mind wondered at this. Most guards were male. This would be an interesting place to study the customs of and such. She pressed a slender thigh into the horse's ribs and he slowed to a halt in front of the gate. The scroll she rolled up and placed in the saddle bag to her right. Her voice was soft as she spoke to the person commanding her to stop her progress. "Greetings, good soldier." The voice that issued those words was one of culture and poise. One of grace and nobility, authority and purpose. But at the same time, very inviting and trustworthy. She was good at keeping her voice just at a level she wanted to please those around her and put them at ease. "I am looking for Theden. I hope that I can safely assume this is the correct town. Hard to tell from this side of the wall."
She poured on the charm and smiled to them. The bow being trained on her, not really giving her any fear. It was their job to defend the city gate, apparently, and they were doing just that. "You see, good people, I am looking for my master and teacher. He expressed a wish to see me here in this village. And I do not wish to be late" She tossed her head back a little bit in a move similar to the horse that snorted and pawed the ground. Reaching down she gave the beast a gentle pat on the neck as he stepped from side to side a little antsy. What no one saw was the fact that she was nudging the trained gelding in order to get him to move just so. This kept him ready to move quickly if they had to, he was a trained warhorse."And, Meridion here, wants his oats and a good brushing. Do you not, my fine friend. So perhaps you could let me into the city, so I might find my Master Hunter." She looked back at them and smiled so sweetly and jovially in away that was honest and trustworthy.
There were no weapons and since she was holding a scrolls as she had approached, perhaps she could be seen as a scholar. Nothing more than a woman out to learn and study. She would wait for them to let her pass before she continued at a walk down the road, looking for her master.

After speaking the guard keeps his gaze fixed on the woman atop the horse as she came to as top as he had instructed. The guard held his ground after the horse came to a stop, his gaze slowly shifting over her for a brief moment though to him she didn't seem as any kind of threat. As the woman speaks up the guard listens to her and offers her a kind smile in responce to her greeting. " Greetings. " The guard murmurs before she continues to speak the guard continues to listen while watching her as the ranger stands at the ready still while watching the mounted woman though she quickly begins to see no reason to keep the bow trained on the woman since she was quickly showing she was no sort of threat to the safety of the village and as such she begins to lower the bow but keep an eye on the woman. While listening to her the guard seen his reasonings for keeping her fall one by one though he had no intent on holding her at the gate since she was no real threat which was apparent by now from her actions and how she is acting. Instead it turns out that she is seeking someone that he knows of but has not seen, a friend of Yuki's. As she finishes speaking the guard gives a faint nod, " I shall not keep you any longer, welcome to Theden. " The guard says as he steps aside, giving the signal that the woman can pass through the gate, " I have not seen your master however I know of one that can help you find him, our leader, Yuki is friend to your master, you should find him at his home. " The guard says before he continues on and gives her instructions on how to get to Yuki's house from here.

As they let her through she smiled to them and nudged the horse through the gate, his trot, even and well trained. "Thank you, very much, good soldier. I shall seek out this man named Yuki. If I cannot find my master." She was gracious in her thanks as she was in everything she said. Part of her appearance to the outside. Very few knew of her true nature. The more calculating and intelligent mind lay behind the more blonde air that she sometimes put on. Her eyes scanned the people as she continued to guide the warhorse down the road.
It was a short story, of how Meridion came into her possession. This aging warhorse was a gift for her to travel on by her former teacher, and upon his death, she inherited the white gelding. But she had grown up around horses and camels, so riding was no strain on her. It was said that some of the desert raiders could spend days on their horses without much more than a stop to relieve themselves. But those were legends and tales. Jay'de knew that she could spend a lot time riding on horseback, but no where near a day much less more than one.
The horse's hooves clopped against the packed earth, as they moved as one unit, horse and rider. The horse, like an extension of the rider. They moved through the street, her eyes scanning the visages of the people. From her perch atop the horse, she had a good view of those coming towards her. It would be at this moment, unless something moved in front of her, Jay'de would see the man she sought.

Battousai would feel the moment that Dravec reached his side, but would continue in his walking as if nothing had occurred. In fact, if others had not previously been looking at him, it would seem as if the two had been walking together for some time, casually. The samurai lends his ear to the report, wondering what had brought his cohort into Theden. The plan was for Battousai to meet up with Dravec at the desired location to the east, but the samurai did appreciate the fact that his arrival to that area had been delayed unexpectedly. He assumed that Dravec was simply coming to assure that everything was fine in a protective manner.
From what he hears as they walk, he is able to tell that rather than being here to check on him, there seemed to be news from even further east. Attention is garnered for the information given as it is fully absorbed in silence. As it seemed, the thing that they had ignored as a non issue, the religion that was building up about those affiliated in various villages, had seemed to come into some type of limelight with recent events.
The samurai would answer back mentally speaking to his cohort in a form of non verbal communication as he comments, “if you believe it’s worth looking into, then you can go. Since I am to head in that direction as well, I will go with you so we do not have to coordinate on our travel after we leave Mare Maris.”

The large white behemoth of a wolf sauntered forward as it moved down the street, its gaze slowly shifting as it looks from side to side. Though the beast possessed a large size and aggressive nature, it also had a soft side to it, one that it shown those that where of no threat to it such as the villagers of Theden, a place that had become its home. Since Yuki had yet to make his presence in the village and given that he didn't want to walk in on the male, Ulfric still roamed the village in search of something to do to keep his time while he waited on the lazy half-breed to wake up. Shifting his gaze, Ulfric spots a woman atop a large horse and as his gaze falls upon the two, he shifts his gaze over the large animal before bringing his gaze up to the rider atop the beast. The large wolf's gaze shifts over the female for a brief moment before he notices the color of her hair, white like Yukis, a somewhat interesting thing to see a white haired person like the half-breed. " Perhaps someone related to Yuki? " Ulfric thought to himself as he begins to move towards the two. With his gaze still on the white haired female atop the horse Ulfric would move into the two's path, unknowingly blocking there way to the one they seek, though such things didn't come to the large wolf's mind instead he wanted to investigate the newcomer to the village and possible relation to the half-breed.
With a soft groan Yuki raises from his seat and makes his way back to his room, he had allowed time to pass and now it was time to finish getting ready and begin the day since he had things to tend too. With this in mind Yuki makes his way back to his room to finish getting ready. Moving into his room Yuki takes as eat on his bed and takes a moment to get his boots on and tied before he raises back up and grabs his coat as it hangs close to his bed. Taking his coat he slips it on and lets it rest upon his shoulders as he glances around the room for a brief moment, " I wonder how sensei is doing.. " He murmurs lightly to himself as he heads out of his room and makes his way back to the living room and grabs his colossal blade and rest it upon its harness before he pushes his front door open and steps out of his gaze shifting as he glances around for a moment while pushing the door shut behind him.

With my arrival, one of my operatives that had been assuming the guise of a carpenter in Theden had discovered something distressing. Since it was rare for new operatives to ever meet me, he did not know what I looked like. It is known that the Hunter has white hair. So when he was chosen to retrieve and deliver the last leg of my report sent to both Theden and the village to ensure that I would get my information, he thought that Yuki was in fact his Master and used the guard to deliver the letter. While it is an honest mistake, it is one that I will undoubtedly not be pleased to hear about considering that while Yuki is aligned to my lord, he is not closely aligned to me in the manner that my intel is to be openly shared. At the moment, I am ignorant to the mistake that was made.
I would nod to the samurai before speaking telepathically in return, "Understood, my lord. Jay'de will be accompanying us as well. I want to get her more field experience and since I still cannot figure out what is hindering your strength, I would like to have her around to keep extra defense in place for you. Just as a precaution. Battousai, will your disciple be accompanying us or shall he remain?" My relationship with Yuki from my standpoint was an interesting one. He had aided me in a couple of missions before, but he is a brute in my eyes, so I didn't take a significant interest in him, but Battousai on the other hand did, so I view him as the overt strength at Battousai's disposal. An attack dog if you will and that view of him has generally kept me somewhat distant towards him. It is a peculiar dynamic that I have with most of my lord's allies.
Since I have awakened my mind to telepathy, I found myself scanning the thoughts of those around. I hear something along the lines of relative of Yuki, which I disregard as it does not pertain to me, my current mission, or the samurai's safety. A few moments later however, I hear a very familiar psychic voice. I pause and would speak out, "My lord..." My voice would trail off as my eyes take on a milky mist color as I lock on the psychic signature of my pupil, for lack of a more suitable term. Speaking telepathically to her, I allow her to see what I see around me, so that she knew exactly where we were. I would show her that I was with Lord Battousai so that she would also be prompt and hopefully presentable. She is aligned to me and thus a reflection of my discipline and self, thus I have to be concerned about how she appears to my lord. After showing her I would instruct, "Feel what your eyes see and I will see what you see." I fall silent and await either her presence or sight of what she sees.

The fact that he mentioned bringing Yuki along seemed to interest the samurai for a moment. He didn’t think anything of going to visit Mare Maris to see about something that they had received. There was the promise of money that came with the briefing of a reward offered to those being gathered, but Battousai knew that he wouldn’t be going for such reasons. Still, there was the notion that something larger may be occurring behind the scenes of whatever was announced. It was no big deal, however, since he was under the assumption they were going simply to watch the proceedings. Still, if something were to happen, then Yuki would be the one to enjoy a conflict the most. Battousai felt that he didn’t want to fight if he didn’t have to since he still did not fully have control over his stamina. That coupled with the fact that Yuki had been cooped in his village for a while is enough to make the samurai shrug and offer mentally, “I don’t mind if he accompanies.” There didn’t seem to be an immediate response, so Battousai’s gaze would shift to the side in time to see the pupil augmentation of his cohort. He pauses in his walking for a moment, perplexed at his actions. Speaking casually, Battousai would speak aloud, “are you fine?”

With so much going on, Jay'de had thought she had seen a glimpse of her teacher before something large and rather hairy got into her line of sight. So there was a moment where she gazed up and at the large wolf. This was one rather large fluffy creature. And as such, Jay'de figured it was safe to assume the wolf's teeth matched its size. But at the same time, it was in the city and no one was running and screaming. This gave her the knowledge it was not a bad thing, but perhaps an oversized watched dog. This would be moving around in her mind and it was these thoughts that her teacher picked up on.
Right before she spoke to the wolf, his voice cut through her soft thoughts and she got the vision of what he was seeing, the back of the head of the giant wolf. So he was on the safer end of it. She got to stare at it's large teeth and drooling mouth. And it was those images that Dravec received in return, her own eyes glazing over as they, in a way merged minds and shared information over that mind merger. She understood what he was doing in trying to pin point her location in relationship to his, so she looked elsewhere other than the large dog in front of her. The white warhorse, her own clothing to help him visually see her, the buildings that surrounded the street, and then back to the wolf. Her eyes brightened as she slowly resumes the smile upon her face.
Of course she was presentable. Always she showed this side to the world. By now he should know not to worry about her being presentable. She had taken time to stop right before coming into the village. She was no stranger to a cold stream and a bar of soap if that was all she had to clean up. And those thoughts, were his to view as she opened her mind to him. She rarely got dirty and certainly did not remain so for long. Jay'de had skimmed the worry from his mind, since it was surface and a very strong thought.
To the wolf, she spoke softly, "My, what a rather big boy you are. If you will excuse me." Then she nudged the warhorse around the wolf and if not stopped she would continue towards the two a short distance behind the large creature. Hopefully the wolf was tame enough to not cause problems.
She cut a good figure as she approached. Her white hair long in the back and sides, but her bangs shorter. The white horse under her, and the dress of red and black. Her smooth silky, thighs were visible through the slits in the dress since she had chosen to ride astride instead of side saddle. As she approached, those eyes, the color of polished jade, would be visible. the matching jade of her fastenings and her earrings could make quite the sight. Her body was trim and youthful with slender curving hips. An alluring sight to behold. As she approached, she dismounted in a graceful throw of the leg over the saddle. Her feet hitting the ground and her hand keeping hold of the reins. She slowly walked towards the two and ended in front of them, dropping the reins for the moment, her eyes demurely looking to the ground as she bowed to them. Yes she was presentable.

Moving in front of them the large wolf stopped the two, his gaze slowly shifting as he looked at the large beast the woman rest atop, it's coat of fur the same color as his. It is rather strange, a white haired rider atop a white haired beast and here he stood, a white wolf, companion to a white haired rider as well. As she spoke to him, Ulfric lift's his gaze to look at the female atop the horse, thinking for a moment upon her comment about him, a comment that actually draws a soft chuckle from him as he watches her begin to shift around him. As she begins to move and try to get around him, Ulfric shifts as well, moving to block the path of the two once again. Moving to block them once again Ulfric's gaze remains on the white haired female. Though he moved to block there path he made no attempt to force her off her horse or attack her, instead he spoke up, " Yes I am little human. " Ulfric says as he shifts closer to her and begins to sniff at her some, " And you are new to Theden, you smell clean. " He comments and unless she pulled back he would draw close enough to lightly bum her with his nose as he sniffed at her once again, " Who are you? " He asks, curiosity getting the better of him as he looked at the white haired female.
After shutting the door behind him, Yuki takes a brief moment to glance around to scan the immediate area for his sensei, however his companion was not within his immediate area nor could he sensei his presence. With a soft grumble Yuki begins to move away from his house as he heads for the Silver Fang Tavern, the last place he had seen his sensei when he left him the night before. Though as he begins to move towards the tavern the half-breed comes to realize he had two reasons to head to head to the tavern, one of which being to search for his sensei and the other to find something to eat before he fully starts his day. Moving in the direction of the tavern Yuki shifts his gaze idly scanning the area in front of him as he moves forwards. As he moves forwards shifting his gaze Yuki catches sight of his sensei not far ahead of him. Spotting his sensei, Yuki keeps his gaze set upon his companion as he begins to move towards the male.

The fact that this thing could speak, threw Jay'de off her balance. "Thank you. And yes I am new." That would be something to study, talking animals. Oh wait, they existed. She had read of them before so the surprise was short lived as she smiled to the large beast. "I am Jay'de. Currently I am looking for my teacher. Who is somewhere behind you. I would love to sit here and speak with you, but I must meet with him. Perhaps I can take a moment to converse with you, after my meeting with him. It is not often you find a talking wolf, that is as large and strong as yourself" Again her voice was thick with that emotion that she had used on the guards. The tone that said she meant no harm. Beautiful, graceful, and kind. Not wanting to the hurt the being's feelings, for about 27 obvious reasons that currently sat like daggers in its mouth, she nodded her head in a bow and again tried to move around him. But not before she was sniffed and nearly unseated by the large canine. Her scent was one of jasmine and sandalwood. An exotic scent from the desert. It spoke of desert nights beneath the stars when the jasmine flower was in full bloom. "A pleasure to meet you" she would softly say as she moved around the wolf.
Her entrance would be the same as previously stated ending with the bow to Dravec and Battousai in a very demure way. Her jade eyes cast downwards.

Battousai's question would be met with silence. Not in any form of disrespect, simply that while the misty eyed appearance remained, the psychic bond between Jay'de and I was paramount and basically in control. Scanning around as the golden color returns to my pupils, I look upon the oversized wolf that I had apparently ignored thus far. She tried to move around the beast and it moved to impede her arrival to me yet again. I view this as an act of entrapment. There are two options here. The first is to simply attempt to trap the beast in a pocket of the Void for... a while. The second and less aggressive option would be to simply move the obstacle out of the way. If the wolf moved to block her path yet again, spatial energy would move quickly from me towards the massive white wolf. Within moments, the command, "Remove obstacle" would release from my lips and the wolf would find itself displaced to the far side of town. I am fully aware that being in the village of Yuki, a wolf demon half breed, that the wolf was probably personal to Yuki, but he should keep a better lease on his pets... or relatives.
Once the matter was resolved and Jay'de was safely on her way to approach me & Battousai, I would answer his question, "Yes, my lord. Forgive my rudeness. I was contacting my pupil here." Once she arrives and bows, I would speak telepathically to her, "Show strength and confidence before Lord Battousai. He does not respect weakness." Speaking aloud I provide introductions, "My Lord, Battousai, may I present Jay'de. She is one of my personal operatives. Jay'de, this is our Lord and Leader, Battousai." With the introductions presented, I would fall silent so that he could address her or she greet him.

SAGA II: Dusk Star Location: Mare Maris Characters Involved
Spoiler:

Noah’s entrance to the city had not gone unnoticed. For the moment the Queen was eternally busy doing what she could to heal the people of their affliction. However due to the rampancy of the disease and the cases of relapse that hit ( which were found quite suspicious) so most of the requests and reports were now headed directly to the council of Elders. With Uriel out of the city the Queens main liaison with the council was gone. And whilst she could have probably asked Amos to fill that role.
Her bodyguard would have likely been extremely uncomfortable with leaving her unprotected particularly at a time like this. A missive would be sent from the gate to the representatives of the Elder council informing them of the arrival of Kimi, the workers and those guards. And the debate began among them as to whether or not to start forcing restrictions upon the help coming from the neighbouring city. The one down side of such a democratic point without the Queen there to place a pulling vote. It was going to take awhile to decide anything.
[Noah’s Soul Link]
There were a lot of people in the city, fi finding a single one would be like finding a needle in a hay stack. Although there was one thing that your soul link would pick up rather easily Magic. The city was thick with it, considering that it was ruled by a kami this was hardly surprising, but it was the kind of magic that was the issue. The people in this city, that is the normal day to day human beings seemed to carry traces of it on their persons, some of it was the trace of healing magic. The feeling of which was like the rising of a warm sun on an otherwise cold day. But there were other things.
This city was hit by a plague, There were certain people who were touched by a magic of other sorts. One which was not like any you had yet to see, complex. It would feel like each person touched by it had a snake around their necks, crushing. Squeezing. Finding the source of it however was something entirely different. Whoever had done this had been maticulously careful in hiding traces of their presence within the dark magic. (MPC)
This plague. It was not natural. Someone was spreading it deliberately...
End of Tracking Point
-----
It was not hard to hear around the city that the Queen was once again in the Atrium of Healing, an area of the city open to the public. The only thing about it was that the area was actually jam packed with people. Getting through the crowd to have an audience with her wasn’t going to be easy if that was the route tried. Other options were of course meeting with a rep of the Elder Council.
Summary: A relic of "holy" power has been discovered in Mare Maris. The military have moved in to secure and move the relic to the city. Whilst the church under the leadership of the prophet is strumming up religious frevor around " the dusk". Claiming that messing with the Relic like they are will bring down the gods wrath. As a result, a plague has began to spread throughout the city. Unrest reached its peak and broke. Now the leader of the military is hiring mercenaries to help escort the relic back to the city. The Saga will start with your characters within Mare Maris. Drawn either by the news, the offer of money, or simply wishing to help the sick people get better. Or something entirely different that makes sense. Up to yourselves. Regardless of reasons. From that starting point. What happens is down to yourselves...

Telepathy seemed to be their preferred mode of communication, master and student. And with the knowledge of their lord, she let Dravec feel her sense of relief that she could drop the act she adopted whenever presented among the normal masses, with this man. But since she was in a village of unknowns, then it would be unwise to let everyone know that a budding mental assassin was in their midst. She also showed amusement at being called Hunter's personal operative. When had she moved up on that ladder? Well no matter, she was honored at being more than just a pupil.
She was born among the desert tribes, a strong race of humans. Humans that prided themselves on their strength and survival. She had been cast out and survived on her own. She may not be strong in body, but she was strong in mental ways. Will, determination, and of course magic. As she rose from her bow and was presented to Battousai, those gem colored eyes, rose to meet his. There within was a glimmer of inner fire that simmered just under the surface. Her voice was like the cool breeze that blew in from the ocean and over the land, "I am honored and at your disposal, my lord." She bowed again, just to him, to offer him the respect of his position as her lord. Since her teacher had called him 'our Lord,' she was accepting the fact that he also was her Lord. She rose from the bow and again meet his eyes as she waited for his response if any.
At this time, since she was facing the way Yuki was approaching, where as the other two had their backs to him, she would telepathically give a warning to Dravec in a picture of the young man growing closer. Her eyes barely shifted over the samurai's shoulder, giving him warning that someone was approaching from behind, if he hadn't already figured that out. One did not usually approach from behind without giving warning unless they were looking to attack.

Dear friends and family, with great affection for Jack and Sera we have gathered together to witness and bless their eternal union in matrimony. To this sacred moment they bring the fullness of their hearts as a treasure and a gift from the gods to share with one another. They bring the dreams which bind them together in an eternal commitment. They bring their gifts and talents, their unique personalities and spirits, which the gods will unite together into one being as they build their life together. We rejoice with them on this great occasion, for this is an act by the gods, in creating this union of hearts, built on friendship, respect and love."
It was a rather ironic and funny affair this wedding, as they were all hiding what they really were. The priest was hiding his nature from everyone there and the wedding party was pretending to be nothing more than humans there to be married. But the wedding continued onward the priest continuing in his righteousness and prayers. During this time, Sera bowed her head as her heart beat and blood pounded in her ears. She was afraid. But she held onto Jack's hand and peaked out from her closed eyes to watch him. Sera wondered what he was thinking. This was a moment of awe, they were really getting married.
"Please, let us all bow our heads in prayer. Heavenly Ones, Jack and Sera are now about to vow their unending loyalty to each other. We ask you to accept the shared treasure of their life together, which they now create and offer to you. Love between a man and woman which matures into marriage is one of the most beautiful types of loves. Today we celebrate that love. May your blessings be on this wedding service. Protect, guide, and bless these two in their marriage. Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, a mantle about their shoulders, and a crown upon their foreheads. Bless them in their work and in their companionship; in their sleeping and in their waking; in their joys and in their sorrows; in their life and in their death. Defend them from every enemy. Surround them and us with your love now and always. Please be seated"
At this point in the service, everyone raised their heads, the prayer over. It seemed like forever when actually, it only took a few moments. The very few others in the church sat down at the priest's command. Where as the wedding party were to remain standing. "Doubly blessed is the couple which comes to the marriage altar with the approval and blessings of their families and friends. Who has the honor of presenting this woman to be married to this man?" At this point it would be Jonah from his spot beside Jack, that would announce the simple, I do.
Sera could not help but wonder at this moment. Her family was nonexistent, and her friends would not approve of this union. But yet, the demons of Jack approved. What did that say about the acceptance of demons versus their holier counterparts. It was rather strange and bit depressing that out of all the races of this world, she found acceptance among the most evil, the most chaotic. In all their order, and goodness, the Kami would not understand or accept this union of theirs.
"Let me charge you both to remember, that your future happiness is to be found in mutual consideration, patience, kindness, confidence, and affection. Jack, it is your duty to love Sera as yourself, provide tender leadership, and protect her from danger. Sera, it is your duty to treat Jack with respect, support him, and create a healthy, happy home. It is the duty of each of you to find the greatest joy in the company of the other; to remember that in both interest and affection, you are to be one and undivided. Jack, will you have Sera to be your wife, to live together as friend and mate? Will you love her as a person, respect her as an equal, sharing joy as well as sorrow, triumph as well as defeat. And keep her beside you as long as you both shall live?"
"Sera, will you have Jack to be your husband, to live together as friend and mate? Will you love him as a person, respect him as an equal, sharing joy as well as sorrow, triumph as well as defeat. And keep him beside you as long as you both shall live?" Sera spoke up softly yet firmly, "I do"
"With the acceptance of these pledges to each other, you have agreed to enter into a loving, healthy marriage. Jack, please turn to your bride and speak the vows that are upon your heart. You may lift the veil and look into her eyes as you speak the words closest to your heart."
With this Sera turned to Jack and waited for him to continue.

Noah's attention shifted around as he got odd feelings from all around him. Quite a few people had been affected by different magic, some Light and this odd magic he couldn't tell, and some without the light magic. His awareness remained the same but then it would all become a big jumbled odd feeling, knowing that there was Magic within the general area, even more than 40 feet away from him despite the limited range of his awareness. Before he could distinguish the types of magic, the light and complex, but now after 15 minutes had passed it all just felt like general Magic. He couldn't tell who was affected by who only because he no longer tried to. He didn't even assume that the complex magic was the cause of it, since he never dealt with it or felt it before now. He looked to the skies a bit and closed his eyes, taking in what this beautiful day had to offer. Kimi looked at him and arched a brow. It was at that moment that Noah truly felt something wrong, almost as if he had a personal connection to the universe. At the moment something was happening that would possibly tear his heart to shreds if he found out about it. Someone he cared about, truly cared about was leaving him, and the connection itself was breaking apart. It made him feel as if he was out of air, which would be indicated by him placing his hands over his stomach and kneeling over. Eyes widened, and heart rushing." Kimi! Something's wrong... ". Noah pushed himself up quickly and turned to the direction he had came from, his hair swinging around to his swift movement before he rushed off." NOAH! WAIT! ". Kimi threw her arms towards him and reached for him but it was pointless. The Kami was already out of reach. He continued with all that his body was able to muster together, not slowing down for anything. He didn't need his heightened awareness to feel this, for it was a connection of the souls. He would bringing himself to stop directly infront of the church that the wedding ceremony was going on inside as he looked up at it. There was a little period that he waited there but then shook his head." No this isn't it! " He then walked over to the place two buildings away from the church and saw an old woman sitting against the side of the building, weak with her eyes closed. Around her was smashed watermelons." NO! " He rushed to her quickly and held her up easily before scanning her. He felt the Complex Magic over her, but no light magic which meant no one attempted to help her, which would make sense since the queen was in a different area healing and no one else knew what was at work here. Noah didn't know himself, and just felt like he had gotten sick." Old lady Talem...please be okay ". He attempted to shake her a bit before the old lady opened her eyes a bit." N...Noah ? ". Noah shook his head quickly before looking around at the worst type of destruction ever...the smashed watermelons. " I...always knew...I would see you again before I kicked the bucket ". That kind of talk caused him to narrow his eyes." What happened ? ". He needed to know, but she couldn't say much, wanting to say what was important." Just sick...nothing can...be done about it..". She brought her hand up and placed it on the young Kami's cheek. Being Old, plus sick/cursed, combined with the heat was bound to take her down, and the today she was working extra hard, which caused the collapse of her and her watermelon." Don't worry though...Im old...Im surprised I lived this long ". " Stop talking like that! Whose going to sell me really good watermelon at an extremely cheap price now? " The old lady laughed a bit before shutting her eyes." There will be other watermelon ladies". Noah shook his head quickly to that reply." But they won't be the same! it'll be decent...and expensive ". Noah waited for a reply from her, but nothing. She did catch his last words before passing, and was proud that there was someone who truly appreciated her efforts. Noah eyes was closed as he looked away, not crying but angry. Eventually Kimi and the others caught up with him, only to see him holding onto her. Kimi placed her hand over her mouth at the site and was filled with shock." Old lady Talem....no...". A worker next to her looked and wondered what this was all about. though they didnt ask. Old Lady Talem was a Traveling watermelon saleswoman that sold the best watermelon across the land, and the cheapest too. Noah had the pleasure of encountering quite a few times over the period since he was unsealed from that tomb, and Kimi had the pleasure as well, though not as much as Noah. Kimi wanted to ask what happened, but felt that it may have had something to do with people being so sick within this area, the reason why they were there. Kimi knew now that gettingd down to the bottom of this thing was of utmost importance, as it had hit both Noah and Kimi on a personal level. Noah began to rise a bit, knowing that he wouldn't be able to lift her in his current state, so one of the workers would do it. They needed to find a place to leave her so after all this was said and done, they would be able to bury her, or even see if she could be taken back to Inanis to be buried.

Alright so here it went, moment of truth. Taking the big plunge. The Priest was yacking on about love, dedication honour protection and all that crap and all Jack thought was. Just what was it that led him to be standing here at this very second. The series of events that played through his mind seemed almost ridiculously impossible. Sera moving from his test subject, to his sex slave, to his lover and now. This. She was smiling at him- shit. Better smile back. So he did. Albiet an awkward smile. The priests words began to kind of drone out in the background noise of his head. Which kind of sounded like a constant whine. A bead of sweat on his forehead. Jack was getting hitched. He was getting hitched. Even back when he had been living with that hybrid girl he'd never even thought of this. That said, the idea of marriage hadn't really even made front page news yet back then but the point remained the same.
Jack's thoughts moved back to the old days, where he would kill what he wanted. Take what he wanted. Go where he wanted to go. All those had came to an end with the rise of the Glutton and the formation of his little empire in Barathrum Regnum. A leader couldn't have freedom. He'd looked forward to the glutton dying and yet now he was putting himself in it again. Was this the right thing to do?
The Priest said something to him, he guessed it was probably his turn to say the vows and stuff. Told him to lift her veil. So, he went ahead with it. And when he saw her face clearly. All doubts were gone. Thoughts of whether or not he was giving up his freedom banished. He wasn't exchanging freedom for chains. But for a different type of freedom. One not many Oni could ever say that they had truly experienced. " Sera...I promise that I will love you, protect you, and...to always remember what you are...". It was an odd mirror of their first promise together. The rules of her confinement in hell. " With no doubts in my heart....I do". With that. Jack moved in and kissed Sera, sealing the deal of marriage. Bells began to toll within the church....at this time. Noah's water melon selling friend had died.
And it would seem oddly apt. As if the bells were tolling for her.

For a moment, the samurai was worried for Dravec before his friend finally came to and it seemed all was well. In that moment, Battousai learned something new about the void mage; he could communicate mentally but when doing so, he seemed to phase out for a moment. With a nod, he would take his words as they were and know that some one akin to Dravec was en route to their position. He would think upon the fact that Dravec too had taken on a pupil; that was an interesting fact in itself.
After a moment, the samurai would find himself being introduced to one named Jay’d who would bow and greet him. With a nod, Battousai would offer a counter greeting of, “good. Be at ease.” Enough attention is paid to the animals in attendance to simply know of their existence or lack thereof depending on the success of Dravec’s actions. Upon further observation, passively feeling a presence, Battousai would also notice that Yuki would be present to this street meeting. That was good, as it saved him the trouble of having to continue forth to his house. Still, with Dravec’s arrival, plans would have changed from his original intentions when setting out this morning. His gaze shifts to Yuki to a moment as he murmurs, “good, the boy comes” before returning his attention to Dravec. He continues, “let’s go quickly to Mare Maris.” He didn’t really care who all were coming with, but he wanted to get this field trip out of the way due to the fact that he had quite a large gathering to move from Theden to the area scouted by Dravec. He was assuming that Dravec would be whisking them to Mare Maris to see about these happenings.

The large wolf knew he was right when she spoke that she was new, he had never seen her around here before and he knew he wouldn't miss someone with the same color of hair as Yuki. Ulfric was rather disappointed that she had to go already in search of her master, though he knew that he shouldn't keep the female since she had business to take care of and it seemed that he would get to speak more with her later once she had taken care of what she needed to take care of, something that he large wolf would look forward too in the future. " It is a pleasure to meet you Jay'de, I am Ulfric. I shall not keep you from your master any longer. When you are finished with your business I would be delighted to speak with you again. " the large wolf says with a smile as he lets Jay'de pass this time since she had business to take care of.
On approach to his companion Yuki notices a familiar figure standing with Battousai. Shifting his gaze Yuki glances to Dravic for a brief moment wondering what he was doing here. Turning his gaze from Dravic as someone unknown to the half-breed approaches the two atop a large horse before dismounting. Setting his gaze upon the female Yuki's gaze wonders for a moment as he takes in her form before noticing the color of her hair. A rather interesting sight, three individuals standing together all with white hair and here he comes with the same color of hair. Though his sensei and Dravic where both here the half-breed's attention shifts to the unknown female as he wonders who she is but more so his thoughts shift to her attractive form and what he would like to do to it. Moving up to the small gathering Yuki shifts his attention to his sensei and addresses him first, " Hello Battousai, how are you feeling today? " Yuki asks his sensei before he shifts his attention, looking to Dravic for a brief moment, " And you to Dravic, hello. " The half-breed says before shifting his attention to the white haired female, " I don't believe I have met you before. I am Yuki, leader of Theden and you are my dear? " He asks with a soft smile as he brings his hand up and offers it to her.

Now that introductions had been done, Battousai was ready to travel. Now that Jay'de was present, I held no objections except that Yuki was approaching. I could just leave him here. I am sure the samurai would not mind that much. It would be a faster operation anyway. No one would have to put everything in pictures for the brute. Suppressing such thoughts, I allow him to approach while my mind remains open to ensure that nothing is amiss. It is during his approach that Yuki notices Jay'de. I had not nor do I currently view in a sensual nature, so her beauty had not fully registered to me, but Yuki's thoughts trigger something within me. There is a deep swell of annoyance that forces my eyes close for a moment as I try to calm myself. It would do no good as his thoughts got more repulsive as he spoke as soon as he says my name, my eyes would open in a fiery silver glow. "Disgusting... dog!" The single word was all that would be spoken and my face is unable to restrain its true intent. Psychic energy releases from me back towards the wolf hybrid at full power and in a seemingly in a continuous flow. If the psychic energy reaches him, it would be at my full mental power. (Psionics - Headache x2) Thankfully, he had not annoyed the other consciousness as well. Physically, Yuki is stronger than I am, but the element of surprise definitely helps out. Battousai and Jay'de would be able to see my eyes and know that I was the cause of the gripping mental pain that should be hurting him right about now. I knew full well what my lord's disciple was capable of and if he thought for one moment that he would ever have an opportunity to harm her while she is under my command and care, he was gravely mistaken. My thoughts are not shielded at all at the moment. They were simply filled with an image of Yuki on his knees screaming and crying in pain. There would also be an image in my MIND of a hand with talons reaching out to grab me and pull me away from Yuki. Spatial energy starts to gather around me as I prepare for an actual fight.

Having greeted his sensei Yuki turns to greet the male Dravic with his sensei, however the half-breed only managed to speak the males name before Dravic cuts him off with a comment, referring to Yuki as a 'disgusting dog', something that instantly sets the half-breeds anger into motion as he is referred to as a disgusting dog, though before he can do anything the half-breed feels a sharp pain rush through his head, something that only fuels the anger growing within him, though he felt pain in his head the half-breed shows no outward effect of such pain, instead of pain appearing on his face anger begins to become apparent on his face as his gaze shifts into a glare as he looks at Dravic, " DOG?!?! " the half-breed yelled out at Dravic in response to the comment, however as he is consumed by his anger the half-breed doesn't stop with the simple comment, instead he looses his anger as it takes hold of him, " I'll kill you!!! " the half-breed yells out at the male as he quickly reaches back to grasp his blade and pull it from the harness on his back. Pulling the colossal blade free Yuki lifts it into the air effortlessly before he brings it down in a quick and powerful downward slash putting his full strength behind the attack as he aims to take out Dravic in a single strike.

Jay'de saw the man called Yuki approach and introduce himself. Her mind was not actively listening since she did not have very good control of that power as of yet. So Jay'de was in the dark as to Yuki's line of thoughts. Her smile froze as she heard Hunter's voice and turned to watch his eyes glow in that light that meant he was expressing his power. The outflow of power shocked her as did the words. He was angry, but at what and why with this man. Apparently Yuki must have either been thinking something extremely wrong, or Hunter just didn't like him.
As Yuki repeated and yelled the word dog, Jay'de made the decision to slip in front of her teacher and master in a defensive way. Being sure that by the sounds and tones of their voices that there would most likely be some fighting going on. In addition she had noticed the large weapon on his back. Her own attack issued forth with the spell chant. "Mind yourself" (Mind Strike) As he was saying "I will kill you" her own chant finished in such a way as to interrupt his attack if the spell hit. If it hit, he would experience the pain of a mental attack causing his nose and ears to start to bleed. If not, she would take the hit of the sword in Dravec's place trying to defend him.

The end result to the conflict amongst the students would be the rumble of a hard impact shaking the atmosphere and ground as Yuki’s blade is caught in Battousai’s right hand. The samurai stood calmly, as if having appeared at the last moment, with his arm lifted straight up and holding onto the blade as the dust settles from its slight shifting at his feet. He was no stranger to Yuki’s anger and to Dravec’s nature. He had hoped that Yuki would have learned to control his anger better than this, but in his defense, since the samurai had never broken the connection with his mind, he knew that Yuki had not started this altercation. Battousai knew nothing of Yuki’s intentions or thoughts at the moment, nor did he actually care. Still, knowing both of them, gave the samurai enough time to know how this was going to play out so that he could put a stop to it.
A small amount of blood would trickle from his hand down his arm at the place where the blade connected with his palm parry; he knew that perhaps was too confident in his abilities in under estimating Yuki’s natural strength. Suddenly a harsh pressure emits from his chest and he coughs as he lowers his hand, releasing Yuki’s blade and grabs at his chest. He was paying the price for acting as if his body were fine. He composes quickly, however, and focuses his energy into revitalizing his stamina as he ignores his hand wound. Standing straight he would look to Yuki to assure the male was calm, and if not, he would give a look to calm himself while speaking to Dravec, “I believe I stated for us to go quickly… prepare our portal.” It was bad etiquette to Battousai to attack one's disciple without permission. Returning his words to Yuki, he would say, “we leave for Mare Maris, are you calm?”

Noah would turn his attention to the church, lowered his eyes before looking to Kimi. Kimi could tell that Noah was a little down, more so because he would have to offer more than he normally did for good watermelon, but she knew that he would be over it fast." I got to still believe that this day is going to be good. Nothing says faith than still believing it's gonna be a good day after someone important in your life passes away am I right ? ". Noah asked before taking a few steps back in the direction that he came from. It would appear as if the party just seemed to be going back and fourth. Many of the individuals that passed him possessed some kind of spiritual presence, and though he could only get a general feel at the moment, the Kami somewhat felt at ease. Being around other spiritual beings was a good feeling, though it didn't top being with Kimi, despite how they have their awkward moments. Kimi stood next to him and looked down, a sincere smile was on her face which let him know that she was there for him, having been there through everything ever since that faithful day. They couldn't really be seen lugging around a dead body, So it came to Noah to make a quick to Inanis." you know what...Im not going to ask ". Kimi gave an odd look, but understood. Despite the Comical reason for mourning her death, Noah did possess a good connection with people, well with those that helped without ill intentions and didn't betray him. Talem was that kind odd lady that would come around and would kind of brighten the day with smile and wise words that came with age. " Scatter, Beyound the bounds " With those words spoken, even without touching Talem's corpse, he would warp her, then repeat the chant and warp the worker to Inanis, and it would happen so fast that they just seemed to disappear in an instant.

His anger is something far too easy to utilize against him. The spatial energy that had begun to harness around me was about to be converted into a discharge of energy headed for Yuki. Jay'de does something that I could not have anticipated nor did I want. I had nothing to fear from Yuki's brutish fighting style and as such the thought of interference displeased me. Still, her instinct to protect her leader cannot be frowned upon as it is my nature to do the same when the need arises. Her interjection into the conflict causes me to adjust the usage of my powers from attack to the command, "Protect." The disruptive field created by my spatial distortions would surround Jay'de to shield her from damage. My left arm would move up to move the smaller female behind me as I prepared to draw spatial energy into my right hand for an attack. Instead of the being able to continue this, Battousai appears in between both of us and simply catches the blade. I was not expecting him to do something like that at all. Especially not in his condition. Damn it! The loss of my temper had endanger my lord! My instinct is to simply kill Yuki to ensure that there are no further threats to Battousai, but his look at me shows displeasure. His tone reinforces that fact that my suspicion is correct. I could have explained the reasoning for my attack, but there were more pressing matters to be handled first... namely the wound that my outburst caused. "Mend the wound. Forgive me, my lord." (Restore Life used on Battousai twice.)
A look of deep disdain remains on my face as I look at Yuki. Almost as if a switch had been flicked, the disdain washes away and I smile at him. It was a devilish smile, but a smile nonetheless. A large cache of spatial energy is harnessed and drawn to me. So much that dark purple strands of energy would start swirling around me. After perhaps a minute, enough would be drawn together. "I am ready, Battousai. Open to Mare Maris." The energy would form into a vertical pool of energy before it finally opens into a full blown portal. Due to the extra baggage the samurai was bringing with him, I would have to invest more energy into the portal to push it all the way to our destination. Once he is ready, I would navigate everyone thru the portal. I had thought to close it on Yuki, but I am in no mood to anger the samurai. Besides, while I want to end his kill, I would rather it end in service to our lord, rather than as recourse for disgusting behavior.

As he looses his attack aimed at Dravic the unknown female steps in the way of the attack, however at this point there was no turning back the half-breed's attack that he had loosed. Before he could bring down the full brunt of his attack, something unexpected happens as his blade comes to a complete stop with the rumbling of an impact. For a brief moment the half-breed begins to push against the blade, however as he sees that it is sensei that stopped his attack he lets up as his glare shifts into a frown as he looks to his companion while a soft growl escapes him. His sensei had stepped in the way and prevented him from striking down the female. Another growl escapes the half-breed as he glances to Dravic for a brief moment before turning his gaze back to his companion Battousai as he lets out a cough as he lowers his hand. With his blade released Yuki pulls it back and rests it back on its harness as he watches his sensei. Unfortunately the anger within the half-breed still had a grip on him, something apparent in his demeanor however he takes no further action to lash out at Dravic since his sensei had stopped him. Shifting his gaze from his sensei Yuki glances in the direction of the female, she had stepped in front of his attack to shield Dravic from it, though he took action to protect her from it in return, however it seemed she was affiliated with Dravic in some way, in such a way she would defend him with her life. Hearing his sensei speak to him, Yuki lets out a soft growl as he turns his attention to his sensei and gives a faint nod, " ... I'm fine lets go. " he says, casting his gaze from his sensei as he falls silent. Though the anger still raged within him Yuki tried to act as if he was indeed calm and fine, as he waits he focuses his magic and silently casts magic to restore the damage that had been done to him by Dravic. When the time comes he would follow Battousai through the portal and to there destination.

Now with that handled, Noah looked ahead with well composed expression. Kimi knew this look all too well, the look he takes on when it was time to move forwards. Often with that look appearing, Kimi would stand straight and stern and even salute. This time she didn't do it because she was supposed to be the commander of this crew." Alright, time to get to work...we came to assist, so lets assist. It would have been great if the person that was seeking assistance would have sent some kind of picture so we could find him, or better yet meet us at the gate. One of the guards should have definitely should have sent word of our arrival to him "." Kimi...let's go check around...there has to be someone around here that Knows... ". He wasn't sadden, but he possessed a drive."You know, asides from the people of Inanis...I only have you, Sera and Gala in my life ". His hand clenched, before looking to the sky. He didn't know what brought this on exactly, and for the first time in awhile, Kimi didnt get annoyed at the mention of Sera's name. She expressed herself to Noah before, in a reality of their making, and she was okay now. She knew that He was still in love, but she helped him see some things, so there was no need fighting for his affection anymore. Just serving by his side and allowing things to move along naturally was great. What she didn't know was that the fates was looking down on her and blessing her with the event that was going on at the moment. It wasn't as much of a blessing without Noah or anyone knowing of it, but it was a start. Sera had married Jack, which meant there was nothing there tugging Noah away from her. Just Sera's long absence caused Kimi to get so confident that she would extend as the friend that would help him through anything, even if it was something she disliked." And you won't lose us, not even Sera ". Noah looked at Kimi with an odd look at what she had just said.

The situation had gotten a bit tense, as her master found away to push her behind him. This almost completely obscured the happenings around her. Like a child pushed off to the kiddie table while the adults talked. She felt the rumbling and had seen Lord Battousai stop the attack with just his hand. No wonder he didn't respect weakness. Although the cough was a bit unsettling. Was there something wrong with him. If there was one thing that Jay'de was extremely gift with, it was ready the body language and facial expressions of those around her. Peeking around Dravec, those green eyes scanned over the strange party. It was then it came to her attention that they all had one thing in common. Their hair color. She had tried to protect her teacher, it was a move that was done without thinking, instinct. And judging by his body language and his surface thoughts, he wasn't happy that she had slipped in front of him.
Jay'de's mind was brought back to Hunter as her master performed a few healing spells. Still she peeked around him and watched with shrew jade colored eyes. She was studying again, this time the magic of support. Something she hoped to learn in the next few weeks. At this point, she glanced over to the man named Yuki, and wondered again what set off her master. In the few weeks that she had been studying with him, she had never seen Hunter grow that angry, that quickly. At this point time, Jay'de shoved down an urge to stand on tip toes, gazing at the still very angry man, and stick her tongue out at him. It was a childish thought, but she knew that he was the cause of her Master's introverted anger. But she didn't do that, instead she watched her teacher closely as he began the spell for the portal and then that devilish smile was shot at Yuki.
Jay'de calmed herself and remained silent throughout all of this. In times this tense, it was better for her to remain silent and watchful. People tended to forget she was there. Quickly she composed herself and stepped through the void to exit in Mare Maris. Another part of magic she wished to learn.

Kitsume was on time. Good. Whtever she had been doing it seemed to have involved some little effort on her part, her skin was slightly glistening which would have meant she wa s having fun of some kind. Well fun as in as fun as it got in this particular regiment of rather grey individuals. His eyes scanned over the notice once again. Then he looked back up at her, she had modified the uniform into a more feminine style. His mind drew back to that little comment he had made weeks ago which seemed to upset her. About how she would probably look better if she made some attempt at dressing like a woman every now and again. Of course the comment had been misplaced but she seemed to have taker it to heart. For the most part he attempted to ignore this. The dead man passing over the missive from his superiors over to her.
“ Ita about this plague thats sweeping the city, have a read”.
When Kitsume’s eyes would go over the paper. It would read as follows. ” By the orders of the Graymarch, your unit is to look into the suspected magical nature of the plague that has been sweeping the city of Mare Maris. The relapse rate after the Queen has healed them is too suspicious to ignore. Plagues within this city rarely last long, yet it is as if the people are constantly exposing themselves to its source. Tests have been done upon the water, the food coming into the city. And yet we can as of yet find no cause to it in these things. As of such we are assigning you to look into these events.- From the Office of the Graymarch, High Knight of the Remnant order. Belmont stood and moved past Kitsume to the door. Briefly looking back at her.
