So last we saw him he was off chasing a squirrel, its bushy tail and bright eyes were something that he couldn’t ignore. They reminded him too much of himself. However the small rodent had managed to escape, something that was rather annoying but he would deal with it for now. Running around this ruined city wasn’t much fun but then again in the realm of Terra h e hadn’t really ventured outside the city before well aside from that one little gaunt out into the realm of the past with Shiori in the mastering of his powers of madness. And well, that had been entirely a waste of time as things stood now. He didn’t have the masque of madness anymore, at least that he could summon. Whatever had happened after the end of the world had put a right stop to that. Memories flashed back, spending time with the boss. Mastering the powers of the madness within him. Focusing it into an externa force of power.

The masque had been difficult to master, it wasn’t like the powers of others that were automatically in tune with them. The masque fought against his own will, it was something of madness with no real logic of its own, it caused him to go berserk, to unleash that inner sea of insanity that resided below the thin crust of ice that was his will power. Great power, but a great risk as well. Eventualyl he had perfected its use but that had ultimately as mentioned been only useful during the final battle when he had defeated Rocky. Finding himself a plac to sit. Penny sat and began to ponder thoughts of things, and where to go from here.

Well the first step towards gaining his power back he supposed was to get the practical part out of the way. Magic wasn’t as easy as the physical skills that he had learned whilst on earth. Magic you needed more of a natural feel and alignment and honestly there was just something about that which required a little more of a metaphysical approach as opposed to just taking it one step at a time through memory. Whilst Penny had no real recollection of the base instincts of each move( the automatic feel that you gain after mastering something) he did remember actually learning the moves in question, which made it relatively easy just going over them step by step again. Just as if someone who hadn’t done it for a long time was just oiling up the rusty cogs.

Of course a person could only practice so much when they were on their own. At least back before the apocalypse he had been able to take classes, but now it was a case of just him vs the world and he was alone. Which meant if he wanted someone to practice actually using the moves on he’s need to pick a fight with someone. Oh well shit happened like that. No doubt someone would want to fight him eventually.

Coat off, shirt off. Hat down. Grin.

Penny began the base movements of the training, first came the circuit. That one alone had been a bitch when working in Onitoshi. The place was unrealistically hot, but then you had to expect that from a place thats main landscape was rivers of magma and brimstone. Terra it wasn’t so bad. Some phantom boxing, press ups, all done in an increasing cycle followed by a quick jog around the ruined block attempting to avoid cutting himself on as much rusted metal as possible. Once he was warmed up in that sense he was up and ready to go, going through the first basic sweeps of judo. Man going over it all again he felt like a total idiot. He could see the move in his head, remember just what it was, remembering pulling it off himself. But for the life of him actually doing the move was almost impossible. At least the way it was going. He knew that he was doing the moves, but he knew that he wasn’t doing them correctly. At this point one had to think that being crazy had its advantages. He chastised himself constantly when he made the mistakes, telling himself in his head just what he was doing wrong. Eventually this split off into a little voice in his head during training. Multiple personality disorder! Fantastic stuff. Each time he made a mistake that little voice would tell him just what he was doing wrong and how to correct it, and with enough training. He would indeed correct those errors. But it was only a matter of time.

Over the next few days Penny continued his training, he didn’t much need to sleep and eating seemed more or less pointless.

The secondary personality which he had silently named Master Penny had been working constantly to improve his physical movements with the techniques. And with the semi constant training and chastising that voice was slowly beginning to approve of Penny’s moves. The moves were beginning to lose the mistakes that had been made in the first hours and he was progressing Albeit slower than a person who just hadn’t done it for awhile would. But he was getting there. Relearning thee things was annoying, and the sweat and dirt had begun to cling to him after these days. So he would need a good wash after finishing. At the end of the fifth day. Penny decided that he had learned all the theory that he could from his own inner memory. He had performed the movements of the techniques. The steps to doing them. But without weight, without actual pressure of being in a fight, without a subject fighting back you could only really know so much. Doing it and knowing it were two separate concepts. So this left him requiring a training partner or a bunch of people to fight with. He doubted that either would be in good supply.

The best he could do as far as training his body then, was to find himself some kind of derelict gym and see if he could raid some equipment.
