The first case Empty
PostSubject: The first case   The first case EmptySun Nov 20, 2011 9:33 pm

It was a small dank office with a solitary window overlooking the muddy street below. This place was the perfect setting for the detective in him and Midgard could only smile inwardly as he set out some papers haphazardly around the place to make it look like he had actually worked on a case. It was always important too look busy when it came too the business of portraying a detective. He stroked his chin thinking of the next things he would need to get too complete the ensemble. These thoughts were interrupted by somebody knocking on the door. "Ah, my first case!" He said to himself as he immediately dashed too the door, but immediately put on a laze fair attitude and let in a elderly man into the office. Midgard would offer the old man a seat as he sat down across from him. "I read about you in the paper. You can find lost people and things. Well, I need you too find this girl for me." The old man would say as he reached into his robe and pulled out a small sketch of her and handed it too him. "Why are you wanting to find this girl. She doesn't look like you, so you can't be related." Midgard said with a bit of suspicion in his voice. "Its true we aren't related, but I made a promise with her father too look after her since we were old friends." The old man explained. Midgard wouldn't think about it much longer then that before deciding too take the case. He could use the money after all.

The old man had left his office shortly thereafter, and he would make his way out onto the streets. He was off too one of the wretched hives of villianry and scum in town too collect information.

The first case? Lost in the bad part of town?

The folds of the paper map ruffles as a little silver haired girl in a indigo haori looks at it while she stands in the street. The crimson eyes blink a few times before she tilts her head to the right... and then she tilts her head to the left... then the map is turned... then turned back... and then turned two more times... She looks up from the map and starts walking down the street and then goes back to looking at the map.... It is turned a few more times. Her feet pat on the ground as she goes up the street for one block...then goes up one more block... then goes down a block, and then down one more block before she takes a left, then a right and then a left and after that anther right... If she was in a Konami game all she would need to do is push A, B and she be at the final boss. Her crimson eyes look up from the map to find that she was where she started. Although if she realized this it was unclear. She did know that she was in what looks like the poor part of the town and really wasn't sure how to get out of it. The map comes down and she lets out a soft sigh as she looks up at the sky. At less it wasn't raining or anything like that and so far no one has given her any trouble or taken notice of her other than the old men that have been watching the girl walk up and down the street like a crazy person would.

He would exit his office with much dramatic flair as he flourished his jacket on for now other real purpose other then being dramatic. Midgard would then lock up and make his way out onto the dusty streets. It didn't take a trained detective's eye (which Midgard didn't have regardless of what he believed) to notice a pretty young woman in this part of town, who wasn't a whore. Midgard could only give a slight smile at his fortitous luck. There was the dame and potential love interest/villian/plucky sidekick. It behooved him in this first impression to try and come off as suave or perhaps cynical (he wasn't sure what kind of detective to go at this point in his career). "It seems like you've gotten yourself lost little lady." He said looking over her shoulder too the map that she was holding. Midgard would give a nod of his head in what he imagined was in a cool way and said, "The name is Midgard, and you should just head east too get too the better parts of the town. The thugs here make short work of dame's like you."

The first case? Lost in the bad part of town?

The girls pointy ears twitch at the sound of the man's voice. Her hand titles back to give her crimson eyes an upside down view of the man as he would cast a shadow over the little girl as he 'looks' over her shoulder. The little girl does not come close to filling the definition of the word 'woman' as she does not ever break five feet in height and her age is somewhere between twelve and fourteen with a chest that makes a flat board look round. This could be do the lairs of clothing she has on but one should not get there hopes up. In ages past if the girl was to scream at this moment, the man would be taken out by a dozen cups and put into jail for ten years. Forever known as being a pervert. The crimson gaze is broken a few times as she blinks while he makes his interdiction. Not haven much dealing with people, she wasn't sure how to react. Her head leans back down to look at the map, "To the east?" Her voice is soft as she repeats his advise her to go east to avoid thugs. "Think you very much Mr. Midjar." She give the man a big smile and bows before taking the man's advise and she starts walking 'east'. It seems that her 'east' was not the same as everyone else and was more like a northwest then east. Living within the walls of a temple all of her life, knowing what why was east or being able to follow a map was not high on her must know this list.

Midgar would give a nod of his head. (Note to self get a hat, so I can tip it at people.) He thought to himself. He was about to resume his errand when he noticed that the girl was moving in the wrong direction in which he had told her. "Dame must have a bad sense of direction." He muttered to himself as he adjusted his clothing before tapping her shoulder. "Little one you are going in the wrong direction again. That way is going to take you into the worst neighborhoods." He would explain too the girl. Midgard figured that he would take some time out of day too escort the girl too where she needed too go since he was sure that it would possibly come back to dovetail nicely with his case. "Why don't you show me where you need to go, and then I will take you there if its not too far out of my way." Midgard offered too the girl while he waited for the map to be handed over too him.

The first case? Lost in the bad part of town?

The little girl starts to walk away with her eyes half closed and humming to herself till she feels the tap on her shoulder. The big crimson eyes look over her shoulder at the seemly nice man that helped her out by giving her directions. The big eyes blink a few times when she is told that she was heading in the wrong direction. "Really?" Her turns her attention to the map, east was to the right of the pointing arrow and.... well she was going to the right of where the arrow was pointing but now it was pointing the way she is walking... The whole map reading thing is very confusing. She was told that the arrow points north and as long as she followed that she would be ok. Needless to say she was not told that she herself had to be facing north for that to work. With the man's request to see the map, she folds it up and offers it to him. "Well ok, but I think the arrow is broken because it doesn't seem to be moving like it should... I was trying to find my way to the market to get a few things."

(This dame obviously had no sense of direction.) That was what Midgard thought as he gave a shake of his head upon hearing the reason why this girl had wandered into this part of the neighborhood. He would just give a shake of his head as he unfolded the map and took a quick glance over it. The wannabe detective really did not need to look at the map since he supposedly knew these mean streets like the back of his hand. The reality was much different, but he would still have a better sense of direction then this girl. "Alright, getting too the market shouldn't be that hard too do." He said folding the map back up and handing it over too the girl. "The name is Midgard by the way a first class detective, if you need to find something or someone. I'm your guy!" Midgard would say as he began leading her away from the bad part of town and too the safer parts. He would not notice the two men that were shadowing the both of them ominously in the background.
