| The books that Midgard usually read started out in a bar most of the time, the seedy atmosphere setting provided the perfect backdrop for the protagonist and whatever adventures that awaited him. He was ready to start his own adventure in the same vein as the detective stories he read as a child. A bright smile crossed his face as he pushed past the door and came into the dank interior which seemed to have transported him into one of those gritty novels that he so loved. The boy was entirely wide-eyed at this as he slowly turned around taking in the degenerates who frequented this water hole. He surmised from their grubby clothing and shoddy weapons that they were most likely bandits. Thugs who only deserved to be laid low by the sword of justice (or in his case fist). These were small fry too him of course, but they could provide the information of who there ringleader was. That was how it went in the stories. The protagonist would enter a bar like this and make a scene in front of the people looking for the criminal mastermind by beating up his lackeys. He pulled himself out of his reverie as he approached the bar which looked like it was encrusted with dirt. "I'll have a ale." He said too the skinny barkeep, whom he instantly assumed was unscrupulous because he was a skinny barkeep. Midgard would turn his back towards the bar and take in his surroundings once again, looking for the group which would obviously be the ones he needed to pick the fight with too get the information that he needed.

| The doors to the bar swing open as an elderly man steps forth and holds a blade out and in front of him towards the center of the bar. More accurately, the sword would be pointed at a group of people, or rather bandits, who were situated at that area of the bar. The old man seemed as if he were too frail and old to actually be wielding a weapon, but the fire in his eyes showed of a determination and sense of justice that would never die. He takes steps into the bar, as the men in a circular table towards the center of the bar stand up with their chairs pushed back behind them. “You…” the old man speaks, “I’ve finally found you bandits who stole my daughter! Give her back to me now of I will run all of you through!” The intensity in his eyes was fierce and for that moment the bar and the bandits were silent… until everyone bust out in laughter suddenly. | |

| The sudden entrance of an old man into the bar lit Midgard with excitement. He was obviously here to start a fight with these slovenly creatures and get something precious back from these pigs. He would observe the situation for a few moments before moving away from the bar and putting himself in a opportune place too interject himself in the midst of this conflict. The boy just wanted to wait for the perfect moment for the dramatic entrance that many hardboiled protagonists had when initiating a fight to defend those weaker then themselves. He cocked his head to the side upon hearing why the old man was here, too retrieve his daughter from them, which provided the damsel in distress and the love interest. His mind was wrapped up in fantasies about how he would rescue the old man's daughter from a diabolical traps that the criminal mastermind had set up for him to rescue the woman. Midgard would come out of his fantasies once he heard the bandits bursting out into laughter, which meant that the next logical step in this drama would that the dastardly bandits would begin beating up the old man. Here would be the perfect time to intervene with a snappy and dramatic entrance. "I'd do what the old man said and give him back his daughter if you know whats good for you." He said trying to lower his voice by a few octaves to make it more intimidating.

| In the midst of the laughter, it seems there were words too; words that caught everyone off guard, including the old man. Among these slovenly types, people seemed more likely to make fun of the old man rather than come to his aide. There were a few quick thinkers in the crowd who thought that he might be mocking the old man and asking for another round of laughs, but the immediate bandits weren’t quick enough to catch onto that. Their gaze, as well as the old man’s gaze shifts to the plucky interloper for a moment before they decide that the joke is old now. “Geezer,” the lead male as to be described by Ero, speaks up, “I suggest you get the hell out of here before we do bad and homosexual things to you.” Midgard, would be ignored and pushed off for the time being as if he had been forgiven for talking out of turn. The old man would be furious, but the men would discard him. With no further options left, the old man would thrust forth with his sword towards the lead made. If not interrupted, the led male would easily parry by stepping to the side and swinging his chair around and into the entire left side of his upper body, knocking the elderly man to the ground before he’s able to get his attack off well. | |

| There was the round of uneasy laughter which brought a little smile to his face. It was going rather well until the leader of the group decided too ignore him. A lesser being would have been grateful for this second chance, but Midgard held himself as a creature of justice and manliness. He would not back down from his words at all. The boy would take advantage of the old man's charge against the leader too pick up one of the rickety chairs and bash it over the leaders back. Midgard felt a sense of satisfaction as the chair broke apart from the strain of being knocked upside the back of the bandit. He had no time to feel complacent about his accomplishment as he took the broke chair legs and pivoted on his left foot too try and catch one of the other bandits with a riposte too the chin.

| The attacks would succeed if not for the sheer fact that no one thought that anyone would be stupid enough to pick a fight with these bandits. They were known for being brutal, which was part of the reason they could steal someone daughter and still walk around in broad day to come into a bar… or night, whichever have you. After receiving the hits, the ones effected would take a moment and realize that had happened before looking to the Old man and Midgard condemning, “you’re life is over now.” From the looks of things, even though the hits were successful, the guys were tough enough to take it in stride. This would be Midgard’s last chance to beg for his life as the bandits prepare for an all out brawl in the bar. | |

| Justice neither shrank away from confrontation nor begged for mercy. He would do neither as he set up his guard and took in what damage he had done too the bandits. "It would be a shame if just one shot took you down." He said. The stories were quite clear that when you fought somebody like this trash talking was an essential part of the game since it meant destabilizing your foe and making there mistakes easier to exploit. Midgard knew he was going to be ganged up on, which meant that he needed too go on the offensive and try to even out the numbers. It would only take him a split second too think this before he rushed in towards the second one he had hit. He stepped in with his right making it seem like a telegraph too the bandit that he would be going for a right hook, but he would instead hit directly with his left as too exploit the opening he was hoping would be there in the bandits guard.

| “That so?” one of the bandits says, now being classified as the one to the left. Fleshing out the details a bit more, it would be clarified that there were three bandits that were immediately offensive towards the old man and his savior. The rest of the unsavories would simply be wanting to see a good fight and or participate if the chance for cheap shots presented itself. After speaking his question, the third bandit would grab the circular table that they had been sitting out, hoist it over his head and would proceed to throw it at Midgard aiming to hit him in the face with it, or if he were close enough, break it over his head. | |

| The punch would land and send one of the bandits sprawling too the ground. He was exultant in the feeling of his fist connecting with another human beings, but he quickly got too wrapped up in the feeling and barely noticed in time the table that was flying in his direction. He would put his body into motion and get clipped by the thrown table, which caused pain to explode in his mind as he shifted his position into a defensive stance. Midgard would only have a few moments of reprieve to collect himself before launching himself at the table thrower. He was sure that such deception that he had pulled before would not work again, so he would rush in to deliver a kick too the side of the bandits leg hoping to slow down his mobility with that strike.

| The table falls off and to the side after the projection by the one bandit, who gives a bit of a smirk with his connection. The bandit that had been punched continues to sprawl on the ground to recover himself as he holds the side of his face, feeling a pulsating pain where the strike had occurred. With the kick that comes in to the table tossed bandit, an arm comes up as stomach muscles flex in order to absorb the kick. In that manner, he catches the kick and holds onto the leg, keeping it clutched under his arm to his side. If he were successful in catching the leg, the bandit would emit a wolfish grin and inquire, “what now boy” with ill intentions on his mind, of course. | |
