And thus Kitsume found herself out in the middle of the bazaar for reasons other than tracking down demons or other Remnants. Silently she had begun to wonder if she was truly one of them. Here lately she had been wondering at her differences from the rest of the humans. She was metallic, every time someone hit her or sliced her open it was apparent. That damn demon had done a number on her, and she had found out that her ribs were also metallic. Above that a few more things had become apparent. Her own senses had gotten stronger. A lot stronger. It was just sight now, but she could see differently. Track the heat flows of a persons body and tell the difference between spirits and humans. Even hybrids were a difference in her senses. It was a strange. She couldn't tell the others just how differently she saw. Colors that represented the temperature of things. Mostly everything was blue, but living bodies showed up as yellow, orange, and red mixed together like an amateur oil painting. It was strange. She could activate it at will. It was rather strange.

As she walked she knew she needed a few things from the market place. The weapon smith was currently studying the metal that her staff was made from. Since Kitsume suspected that she had that same metal in her body. Malathorne had been tough, and she still limped from the injuries done to that leg. Yesterday she had come in late and left the report of that fight on Belmont's desk including the intel on Inanis and the spirits contained there in. Two weeks she had been gone. Two weeks she had gathered information upon Inanis in disguise. The Hybrid Yuki was also listed in there and some of his abilities with the dark spells.

In other words, Kitsume had gone above and beyond the call of duty while tracking and destroying the Demon. It was easy to do, since dead men never really cared about anything more than the destruction of the living spirits and their off sprouts. Shoot, spring. Kitsume was still tired. Although she had slept the sleep of the dead last night, she was still worn out. Belmont would have found the report this morning. But Kitsume would have already been gone from her room and would not have come into the training grounds. If asked, the men that had been with her, would say that she was out shopping for a few things, and had decided to take the day off. With this in mind, she was limping slightly, through the bazaar, closing in on the weaponsmith.

The past few weeks hadn’t been particularly easy on the Remnant commander. Whilst Kitsume had been away tracking down Malathrone Belmont had been dealing with the aftermath of the whole orphanage incident. For the most part the city dealt with the re-homing of most of them. All bar Maya of course. But she wasn’t high on that list of problems. Rather it was explaining to his superiors just why there had been a dragon inside of the city that nobody noticed right up till he stormed the building. One had to admit it was a bit of a fanciful tale, several hours after reporting what he planned to do concerning the orphanage the building caves in with a dragon emerging from it. Setting several buildings and people on fire before escaping. The pile of paper work concerning it had taken up most of his time. The ret which was spent actually detailing just what he had seen to his commanders.

He’d told them that there was no doubt that this creature had been a spirit. But it had been unlike any spirit he had seen before. Its spirit aura to the grave senses made the air around it appear as if it were on fire. Whilst it was a semi amazing sight to behold. It was clearly a concern that if such a being could make it into the city without their notice then it was a massive failure on the part of the Remnants. Ever since the air around the office had been tense. He’d been looking for signs that this dragon had been anywhere else and had been getting reports but by the looks of ti all the reports were older than the actual event leading him to conclude that the dragon had got to them before Mare Maris. Which left him with a disappearing tyrant lizard. And one huge headache. There also had been rumblings of late around the city. And he felt that it was time he got some more preparation for things just in case they got worse. With this weeks pay he planned to buy himself a new set of armour. Of course, with new reports on his desk he guessed that Kitsume was back. But her reports weren’t really the important point on his mind. But he would get to them eventually.

She was not far from the weapon smith so it only took her a few moments to locate it and enter. For a moment, she let her eyes adjust to the darker inside. It was a bright day outside, but the wind had a chill brought from the north. Winter was drawing ever closer. Winters could last a lifetime, according to some. The winter would be harsh this year if it was getting cold like this so early. But that was perhaps just the inner musings of a being far more advanced than those around her. From a time long before the dawn. A time of technology, answers to her millions of questions as to her creation. But those would be put aside for now. Now was a time of summer. Of plenty, her morbid thoughts need not be examined at the moment. But even now, she was winter child. Winter brought death to the world, winter brought cold and famine. Winter brought disasters of epic proportions. Nobles froze to death in their stately villas the same as the blind man on the street. Winter knew no difference between the wealthy and the poor, the weak and the strong. In winter, everyone was the same. And as a child of winter, Kitsume knew, to the very depth of her metallic bones, she brought the same.

Shaking her head, she cleared her thoughts of their morbid wanderings. Winter may be coming, but for now summer ruled. A time of plenty, A time of harvest, a time of celebration. And she was being paid well. The merchant came out as she was looking through his wares and he smiled, "There's the little lady. I have your weapon for you." He reached down and fished around under the counter. Bringing the white staff up he handed it to the woman. "Thank you for letting me study it. The metal is quite unique."
"Tell me about it, hun."
"What can I get for you, my dear?"
"I need a set of armor, a few shuriken, smoke bombs, a kunai or two, needles, poisoned or otherwise. Anything on that list really." The merchant pulled on his beard, "Well the list is long today, sounds to me like you are going on a killing spree."
"Nah, luv. Just missing my lost weapons. and the armor is a must."
"Give me a second and I'll set some up and you can pick and choose your style." The big bearded smith grinned and moved around the shop gathering up the requested items. It was was time to start her haggling.
