Little Red's new joy

The little child skipped along the forest path, her stuffed bunny in hand. She wore a pink puffy dress with white petticoats, pink garters, and white stockings. Her little high gloss shoes were pink in color as well. Her brown hair was done up in two little pigtails with pink ribbons spiraling down into the brown of her hair. Her greens eyes were bright as she skipped along. Sometimes stopping to jump over puddles and small rocks. She had on a little white bunny pack on her back. Almost like a small doll she looked. Her head was down as she concentrated on her path so she wouldn't trip over her own two feet. So she didn't see the lady in red flying overhead. In fact she was just skipping along while reciting something out load. "Two roads diverged in a wood. And I? I took the one less traveled by and that has made all the difference." Finally she looked up and came to stop staring at the woman in red. She smiled brightly and cheerfully showing off her two dimples. "Hi, Miss." she said happily. With a curtsy she started to skip by the woman.

The woman waved as she passed and Maya kept up the skipping nonsense until the lady flew to in front of her. She stopped and cuddled the white rabbit. Her smile bright enough to melt the thickest of ice hearts. "Well I am going from point A to point B. And this was the fastest route since I couldn't go the crow's way or in a straight line. So I am going to point B to learn what is at the end of Point B." Then she giggled and hugged the bunny tightly. "Plus Bun-bun likes to skip along the forest. I like your hood, miss. Red suits you." She made to move around the lady and then stopped to look at her for a moment. "You going to build here? Its a nice spot." She continued to skip a few more feet, her head turned back to watching her feet. Her voice came out as she sung a little kid song, it was rather clear and beautiful like a crystal stream. She had talent in her voice and she was perfectly on pitch. "This is a song about colors, colors. You see them all around. There is red on the stop sign, green on a tree, blue in the sky and sea.."

She stopped in her tracks and turned on her heel. She showed such manners when dealing with adults, like a prim and proper little rich girl. To the last question, since she was a child and had a child's short attention span and horrible short term memory, was the only question to gain an answer. "Bun-bun is all I have, besides Azrael, but then again he is my tutor. But he's shy and so not a people person. I got Bun-bun from my mommy on my birthday. 3 years ago. You are much prettier than my mother was. She's dead though and so is my father. That's why my birthday's are sad. It was my birthday when they were killed." her face fell as her eyes grew misty with tears. Reaching up she wiped her eyes and tried to smile through the rambled story. "You look like you are brave. I hid under the bed when they told me to run. I was too scared not brave at all." She curtsied again and perked up, "My name is Maya. Miss..."

The little girl stopped and thought about it for a moment. Then dropped another curtsy. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Zaiaku." The cuteness factor turned up a notch as she smiled during this fluid movement. Then she was up again and tilting her head. "Sometimes I have a place to stay. Depends on the village." She shrugs her shoulder and looks around the area, "I don't know where Azrael is, he just pops up from time to time for our lessons. He's really busy and stuff. But he always makes sure I end up in a village instead of the forest. And he always makes sure that I have enough food to snack on in my backpack. He's teaching me magic." She sounded so proud of that. The tip of her shoe came up and pressed into the dirt and began to twist as children do. "So what kinda house are you going to build? Will it be big and pretty? I bet someone like you is going to live in a castle. Your just a pretty as any old fairy princess." The compliments stemmed from her natural nature, just things rambling around in the child's head. The truth as she saw things.

"Bigger than a castle?" Her mouth formed that shocked little 'o' and she looked awestruck. It silenced her for a moment as the little girl tried to imagine something bigger than a castle and what it would look like. Then she started up, "Will it be a house or an Inn? What's it going to be like on the inside?" Then the rest of what Zaiaku was saying hit her and she smiled so brightly, those green eyes alight with happiness. "You mean I can stay in the bigger than a castle house? How can I help you bring smiles to the people of the world? A big family? I've never been part of a big family before." She was so excited that she clapped her hands and then reached out, hugging the demoness tightly around the neck, her bunny almost falling to the ground. She retreated from Zaiaku in order to catch the stuffed animal before it hit the ground. "Do you have kids? Will I be an older sister, or younger sister?" She was so excited and full of questions that she practically danced, but she didn't. She was just so still. It was like a dream come true. What little girl didn't want to have everything she ever wanted.

"So age doesn't matter. It goes in order of who came first?" She frowned a moment and then sighed, "That means I'll be the middle child. My friend Lucy was a middle child, and they forgot about her a lot. Her big sister got all the new things and got to do everything. And her younger sister got to be the baby and spoiled all the time. Lucy had to do all the chores. I don't want to have to do all the chores, Ms. Zaiaku. That just wouldn't be any fun. I want to be a beautiful Lady like you. I bet you are powerful too. And good at everything." Maya blinked and giggled, "I bet all the boys like you and want to marry you. Are you married?" She asked in awe and was silent for a moment as she looked around the spot and shook her head.

She reached out and grasped her hand. Tugging gently after she had answered the child's questions, Maya gently pulled the red hooded lady to a different spot, where there was a beautiful cliff over looking the sea, a small path down the cliff led to the cove and there was a small private beach. "This might be better for your new house. That is if you like the water." The small girl looked up at the demoness and smiled brightly hoping she would like the place she picked out.

She liked it. She really like the place that Maya showed her. The little girl smiled shyly and nodded. "That beach is where Azrael was showing me how to use the magic of water and earth. It's a pretty place and I thought that a pretty lady like you needed the prettiest place around for her house" The smile that she looked up at the lady with was so bright and cheerful. Much like a cherub smiling right before hitting someone with a love arrow. She was just that cute and cuddly, with her cheeks that people just wanted to pinch and those dimples that showed up whenever she broadcasted that beautiful childish smile. "I'm glad you like it. This is one of my favorite places in the whole world. Also I hear tells that there are mermaids in the cove that come out at night. And you can see the waves crashing and hear the ocean at night. It's really beautiful." Maya let go of her hand and began skipping around the little meadow on the cliff, picking a few of the flowers and bringing them back to the demoness. Holding out the little flowers she smile. "For you. When are you going to start building?"

"What seed? Are you going to plant it? What will grow into? I once had a flower that grew in a pot. It was a really pretty flower." She curtsied again as she glanced up the sky like Zaiaku had been doing. "Do they fly? Azrael can fly to. But he doesn't like to do so. He prefers to use the void to travel from place to place. I hope to do that someday." With that she laughed and bounced up and down smiling. Twigs snapped and she she looked around. "I think someone is coming." She slid behind the demon to hide. She was a child after all, and human. It was well know to human child that monsters were every where. In your closet , under your bed, etc. A surge of defensive power filled the area as a if a great pressure was starting to descend. Sad thing was, most people would think that the power surge was coming from Zaiaku herself and not the child behind her, hiding in her skirts as the saying goes. Zaiaku might notice the press of power and know it wasn't coming from her but from the child.

Maya heard the aguing and looked up to the demoness. A hand rested on her head and she smiled brightly up at the lady. "Are those the people you were waiting on?" As they drew closer and the arguing got louder, she giggled and started to come out from behind the demoness. "Wow, they are all rather.... different looking." then that little anime cherub smile only got bighter as she said her sweet little tone, "They are beautiful." Her face then took on a very thoughtful expression that replaced the smile. "I wonder if I will grow up to be beautiful one day. Maybe be exotic like them." Then she stood up on tip toes and waved as they drew closer. "You still haven't answered my questions, Miss. What kind of seed is it?" Those strange eyes turned and looked back to the demoness. After her answer, the child known as Maya would smile sweetly agains and sit down on the green grass to pick flowers as the ladies conducted business around her. Content and happy to be silent for the moment.
