" Alright child, it's time that you learned how to craft your own arrows incase you run out while out hunting. " The older woman says as she looks to the child standing before her, a soft smile upon her visage. Hunter listens to the woman as she speaks and he sighs softly as he gives a faint nod, " Ok.. " Hunter says as he ooks at the woman. The woman gives a faint nod, " Good. I am going to show you how to craft an arrow and explain it to you so watch and listen carefully because after I show you, you will be making one on your own. " the woman says before she picks up the materals she will need to craft the arrow before she begins to craft the arrow. Hunter listens to the woman and gives a faint nod before he trys to focus on her actions as she begins to craft the first arrow. The woman takes a short peice of stick used for the body of the arrow and grabs a feather and splits it into pieces before she begins to tie the bits of feather to the back end of the arrow. " First you need to attatche the feathers to the back end of the arrow. This will provide stabilizatoin to the arrow as it flys thorugh the air and help keep it flying straight. Do you understand? " She asks as she lifts her gaze to glance at Hunter. Hunter watches the woman as she picks up a stick along with some feather bits and begins to tie them to the stick and as she spekas he lifts his gaze and looks to her for a brief moment as he gives a faint nod, " Ok.. " He murmurs lightly, though he didn't exactly fully understand all the concpets behind it aside from putting feathers on the arrow makes it work better, or something along those lines anyways.. The woman gives a faint nod as she continues, " Good. Now after that you need to take some animal fat glue and put it on the string around the feathers to help them bond so the feathers wont come off when you fire the arrow. " She says as she takes some paste like stuff and begins to apply it to the strong and feathers on the arrow. Hunter keeps his attention on what the woman is doing with her hands as she takes some of the fat glue and applies it to the string and feathers to bind them to the stick. After she had the glue applied she reaches down and picks up an arrow head, " Next comes the most important part of the arrow, the arrow head. With out this you won't do much damage to something you hit with the arrow. " She says with a light chuckle as she picks up an arrow head along with some string and begins to fasten the arrow head to the arrow. " When attaching this you have to make sure it is secured tightly onto the arrow and once you have it tied on you need to take some glue and apply it to help strength the bond so the arrow head will stay on. " The woman says as she takes some glue after getting the arrow head attached and applies the glue to help strength the bond so the arrow head will stay on. Once she finishes she lifts her gaze and looks to Hunter, " Now it is your turn to try it child. " She says with a faint nod as she looks at Hunter. Hunter had remained silent and watched the woman as she showed him step by step how to craft an arrow and as she finishes and tells him it is his turn he lifts his gaze and looks at her face, remaining silent for a moment. Nodding his head, Hunter finally breaks his silence, " Alright. ". The woman gives a faint nod, " Everything you need is right here child. " she says as she gestures to the things she used to craft the arrow she had made. Turning his gaze from the woman, Hunter looks down at the things she had used to make the arrow and he nods his head once again as he begins to go over the steps she had done and spoke of as she crafted the arrow. Hunter takes a moment to go over the steps before he begins. As he starts Hunter reaches out for one of the stick that makes up the body of the arrow before he picks up a few of the pieces of feather along with some string. With the string, feathers, and stick Hunter begins to bind the feathers to one end of the stick much like the woman had showed him to do. As he binds the feathers he goes over the step repeatedly in his mind. Once he had the feathers in place he reaches down and get a bit of the glue and applies it to the string and feathers before moving onto the next part of the arrow. Moving on, Hunter picks up one of the arrow heads and begins to slide it into place on the arrow's body while picking up another bit of string. With the string Hunter ties the arrow head in place before he takes some of the glue and applies it to keep the arrow head attached. After he finishes he holds it up to the woman, " How is this? " he asks as he watches her. The woman takes the arrow from Hunter and glances over it for a moment before setting it down as she looks to the child, " You did good. There are other ways you can craft an arrow when you are in the field, if you don't have the proper materials you can make easier ones but we can go over that some other time. You can run along now if you wish child. " Hunter was happy to hear that he had done good with making the arrow and as she says he can go he gives a nod and quickly runs off.
