| Iskra lay, still in the male version of her beast form, atop an unoffensive kami who had done nothing wrong outside of lay down for a nap at an inopportune time.
The sun's rays barely began to peek over the horizon, and he remained asleep there, his body covering hers with a heavy weight. Though the monster remained sound asleep, any escape attempts would stir him from his light slumber. After all, this vessel of his had a very important function, and he'd be expecting her to fulfill it when the warm rays of the morning finally awoke him.
But for now, he continued to snooze on. A goat had been smacked to the ground the day prior. Its children weren't sure if she was still alive and none dared venture form under the mattress to see. The smell of blood and waste from where one of them had been torn still lay heavy on the musky air. The woods remained quiet, however. No wild beasts but the one on the mattress were present to be drawn by the thick smell. The only sounds on the air were the quiet, atmospheric crunching of the termites and the weak wingflaps of a few stray flies that hovered around from the scent. In the ceiling, a wasp built a nest of paper, oblivious to the situation below. The rotted roof groaned lightly when the warm winds pushed it.
Morning was coming soon.

| Ever since that night where Sera had run, knowing that the inevitable had come. Something had weighed heavy on Jacks mind. It was the burden of leadership. Back when hee had been somewhat of a renegade among the group of Pride. It hadn't been so bad. After all he only had to do the odd task for Jowan and problem solved. But now he was the one that had to be counted as responsible for everyone. And he didn't like it. His former life of selfishness had been far more preferable to this. Still in this life he had to deal with the here and now. And his primary task wasn't hunting down Sera to make her feel better. It was finding Iskra so that he could ay waste to that pathetic little village with a lot more vim and destruction. And preferably doing it before she got herself a little moral guide. Jack had been following the road that had been set out for him by Jowan ( the leader of fear always was much better at geography than Jack was). But just because he was following the route doesn't mean he was going to keep an eye and a nose out for things that would indicate Iskra was in the area. And the first thing that came to Jack, was the smell of blood.
It was something that the Pride demon was all too used to, being a blood mage himself. And this was the kind of smell that one would have expected to find in Barathrum Regnum as opposed to on Terra. He followed the smell as best he could, which wasn't saying much. But he did manage to find what he thought was the source, although only thanks to his Tainted Senses He peered inside and there lying atop a matress was Iskra in that form that she had seen her rape that kami in, but there was something else on his senses as well. iskra wasn't alone. Although by the feel of the taint in this one, it was weak. And utterly fam-. Jack walked inside. And immedietly his fist began to shake. Iskr looked to be in a slumber. And she was atop, what Jack suspected was Sera. He had no idea just how this had happened. But the very fact that it had left him with one singular conclusion. Both of them had to die. Iskra because she had insulted his pride and pushed his paitnece to the end for the last time. And Sera because, she had been his. But now had been shared. Regardless of whether or not she was a willing participant. She was now second hand property. A living insult to his Pride that needed to be extinguished.
The part of him that was a leader reminded him that he needed Iskra to tear down the village. To burn it and slaughter its inhabitants. But at this moment in time. That was the last thought on Jack's mind. The only other thing inside him was a will to destroy both of these beings that he had extended far too much paitence with in the past. He reached down and a bleeting baby goat was caught in his grasp. With one quick twist and pull with his augmented arm. He tore the head off the goat child and tossed the head at Iskra to wake her up. The blood of the goat misted and covered him. It would be a good disguise for his spell as he muttered under his breath what might be considered obsenities. " Iskra, up and out. I have business with you. I'm going to assume you'll keep your word at the temple? Sera. I'll deal with you in a moment". If Iskra had at this point moved. He shot her a baleful glare.

| The beast awoke when the sudden, panicked bleats of the kid alerted her to the approach of some danger. Naturally, having an object of any description tossed at him with the aim of waking him up was something the creature had become less than accustomed to in her time ruling his city. That, and the considerably irreverent words that the pride demon used to address her caused her a spot of irritation.
With a growl, he caught the head between his jaws and spat it off to the side.
Between the mattress and the doorway, just behind Jack, there lay a chain all but lost in the rubble on the ground where it had fallen last night. It quietly and suddenly rose from the ground and struck out like a serpent, aiming for the back of the offender's leg.
Meanwhile, Iskra licked the back of the angel's neck casually, as though to say good morning before he addressed Jack, unmoving from his comfortable spot on the bed, though he did shift enough that the woman might be able to catch a glimpse of her potential rescuer. The thick fur of the beast's arm remained over her, however, and it might make it difficult to speak.
"Anything we need to discuss, we can discuss while I rest here." He yawned casually. "I had plans for this morning. You are familiar with this kami? She seems like a nice vessel for my children, I think. She says she knows you."

So she was awoken by the sound of a very familiar voice and her heart soared. He was here, but then his words brought her low. Why was he talking like that her. Was he angry? For what? She was almost raped by the being that rested on top of her. She was on her stomach, pressed into the mattress. The lick on the back of her neck made her tremble in fear. Then Iskra proceeded to discuss her like she was some sort of cow at the market. Did they not realize that she could hear them. The demon above her rested on her still fully clothed body. Although there was blood everywhere. That was when the head of one of her baby goats rolled into view. The mattress muffled her screech as she tried to get up but was pinned under Iskra. She turned to her head to the side and looked at Jack with pleading eyes. Her voice was slightly muffled but could still be heard. "Jack....Please." Sera was actually pleading and begging. The look of fear in her bright red eyes. Tears began to leak from her eyes. "Help me. Shmehe.. Iskra wants to get me premhmms. I told her I was mmors and she said that what was yours was nphfhers." The soft tone of voice was full of fear. Muffled as it was it was easy to tell that. "Please, she musse going to start this mhmorning." In other words she was still unabused for the time being.

| The whip of the chains against him caused no damage, breaking against the power of his devil skin. He looked on between Iskra and Sera. Sera muffling something but by the sounds of it whatever Iskra had been planning hadn't quite happened yet. Which he supposed was a good thing. He didn't have to kill Sera. Yet. Although Iskra was once again acting far too confident. And was refusing to do as Jack had requested. So the only answer was at that point, to make her do it. Instantly Jack's power would jump up. A crimson red aura surrounding him. As this occured. He also channeled a spell towards Iskra, one that he had practiced, it was always easier to take someone by surprise when you attacked without having to say anything. [ DevilDrive: INT+1 DMG, FC: Perfected 225DMG if hit]. As he did this. He launched towards Iskra, his right arm changing form, tearing away the cloth and the glove that was upon it revealng a more scaled and deadly form beneath. Jack would slash and punch at the form of Iskra if she could not evade, seeking to mark her with the power of his blood magic which would be consured up at a word, at a later time. | Now if anyone had a noticeable transformation, it was her friend Jack. This the beast knew from long experience. Much like Pavlov's dog, Iskra had been conditioned to expect a very painful attack following the visible shift. Indeed, she'd never known him to adopt the transformation and remain still.
So with a reflex born of a quiet panic, he moved to protect himself. The kami remained in the grip of her strength, and if Jack thought of her as a possession, then maybe she could serve as a deterrent to what he knew was going to be a pretty hard hit.
So he quickly took the kami by her unripped upper garment and shifted backwards, putting her form directly between himself and the pride demon.
Whatever horrific spell came from Jack would ravage the helpless kami instead.
Reflexively, her transformation came forth as well. The air suddenly became crisp and chilly, as though some snowstorm raged outside, and it seemed to, in fact. Clouds seized possession of the sky and the leucrotta's white fur seemed to glow. In a blast of wintry ice, a wind began to whirl about the area, pushing away and down, sending heavier things down towards the floor and sending lighter objects, dusts and ancient lamps and long-spoiled sheets, towards the wall. In an instant, the beast's tail lengthened and grew fat like a leopard's.
What was not affected by the wind, however, were the blades behind Jack that were repelled by his devil-skin a second ago. The obstruction was now missing, he murmured out a spell, and the blades, still behind the pride demon, now took a risky swing towards his unguarded skull with the aim of cracking it.

She cringed when she did not hear a reply from Jack, she figured she was as good as dead. He was a pride demon after all. So with this she uttered a single word muffled into the mattress so no one could really make out what it was. (Bird) it was said in that same pleading tone she had just said Jack's name in and the energy to shape shift was there in an instant. She shifted down into the smallest bird she could think of at that moment. The hummingbird is what came to mind. They were swift little things. She completed her transformation the second that Iskra moved her body up to reach for her. Iskra's grasp would meet only air as she zipped out of the way. Free of the physical bind and out of the way of the two fighters. Her flight took her straight down to the floor and out of the way of any spells that might be thrown around.

| It seemed as though the second his jaws went to pinch around the little woman's collar to flip her into the invisible path of the oncoming projectile, the woman had morphed into a bird and flown the coop. Well, that put Iskra at a sore disadvantage. The beast might have taken a moment to wonder why exactly the woman chose that moment to shift into a bird when an instant later she would have been crushed below his weight and come to the conclusion that the woman was a kamikonjou and transformation into small things was imply what they did, but "why" was the domain and curse of man. As things were, the partially-in-progress transformation fired off anyways. While the angel might have had some protection against the force of the instantaneous snowstorm in the jaws of the monster-- well, the storm was rather severe.
And when Iskra felt somewhat ill from the contact of the initial spell, she felt she had escaped some great harm as she proceeded on with what might be the chain-scything open of her "subordinate's" skull.

| Jack cursed inwardly as the movements for Iskra's transformation began, interupting his technique and ultimately blocking what might have been a fatal spell. Moments before however he's noticed a small bird flying out of the way. Jack thought it could well have been Sera. But Jack had enough reaction time to know that Iskra wasn't one to just let things lie.The sound of her unleashing a chant word was enough to set Jack prepared to meet her technique with his own. As she chanted, so did Jack. Drawing his sword, it burst into flames, the chain moving towards him as he brought his blade up in a slash to meet what may have been a deadly strike. The bladed chains and Jack's strike would meet. " Heurvelk!".

| Unfortunately it seemed that as quick as Jack's movements were, the chain was faster. He got one last look at Sera in bird form before the world went out like a light. A mild sting on his head. And then. A laughter from within...

So the reason behind the change was just to make herself the smallest target in the area. She did not wish to be hurt by either party. In fact if she got out of this situation intact, she would be happy. But on no. The power of that transformation had her flattened once she hit the floor. Not literally flattened, but figuratively. The second after the transformation, she brought her little bird body off the floor. At least that was where she wanted to be, and she began to move towards the farthest corner of the room and out of the way of the demons. There she hopped up on the rubble and looked for a place to hide where she was out of the way and out of sight. There was a window, long since without glass or shutters. If the bird could have smiled she would have as she began to hop up the pieces of rubble and to the window sill. This gave her an easy way out if she needed it. If no one tried to harm she would make it to the window sill and turn to watch the battle. One would wonder why the little bird stayed to watch, and truthfully her heart was beating so hard at the thought of Jack dying. She had no way to gauge his strength versus Iskra's. And part of her wanted him to live. That same part riffled through memories looking for anything that could help, but drawing up a blank at the moment.

| Jack's body collapsed to the floor. Dead. Well. Sort of. The moment Jack's lifeforce began to fade from the world. Another stepped in to fill that shell. The door creeped open, and from behind it a laughter most intense filled Jack's mind. Eyes glazed over. Shut. The Man Behind the Door filled Jack's body. And with utter indifference to the world around him. Caused the once still body to twitch and then change.[ Dread Wolf]. Slowly. The body would rise up the normally red eyes glazed with yellow. Mist covering the area making seeing difficult. A massive oppressive wave of pressure hitting down on those present. The man behind the Door looked over at Iskra. Cracked his neck and spoke. " Braiiiiinnnsss". He touched his head. " Yeah. Ow...these brains hurt like hell...you know no wonder he's pissed off at you biting off his arm acting all apologetic and now braining him with the fucking chain after trying to steal his mat- oh my bad shouldn't be popping out secrets". Laughter from the man Behind the door as he looked over at Sera. " I would take this oppertunity to run little bit-I mean bird, Jack isn't home right now and this fight is about to get real, likely I'll end up tearing this body to bits before I'm done but hey...shits and giggles right!?". More laughter.
" No tits in this form? what a disappointment!"
Hand raised. The magic bombardment began. This spell would cause Iskra's blood vessels to burst within her own body on multiple points. Aimed at her four limbs. [•Black Art: Hemorrhaging Curse(Perfected)Effect: DMG +1 (STG 2: Reduced effect) MLT 4 Targets [ Stage 3] ( 1 Chant)

| A lot went on at once. Jack's brains spilled somewhat. This she expected, having sent the scythe towards his head and all.
The next thing was something she could not predict. Specifically, Jack kept right on going, but it turned his eyes yellow and it made that annoying guy from before take him over. This, she had never seen before, but once again, there was no time to really question this thing. It was happening, and her fighting instincts arose in her as she witnessed the transformation.
The transformation was familiar. There was a pressure, but she found herself able to resist it somewhat with her own strength.
So she didn't like his hand pointed at her when the fog finally cleared. The gesture was common to many mages. With a jumpiness, she attempted to leap out of the way of the supposed trajectory, chanting all the while to raise a barrier of ice between her and whatever it was he was planning.
But something did get to her. Specifically, she heard something of interest in all of the man's words.
Jack... pissed off?

| The hyena and her rather sizable bubble landed with a slight roll sideways before she regained her balance. Blood ran down the back of her left hindleg unheeded as she panted and noticed a sizeable crack that developed on the outside of her sphere. With a mumble, she chanted again, and didn't really pause. If she wanted to get through this and eventually talk to Jack, she had to get rid of the yellow eyed one first, who unfortunately appeared to have command of her friend for the moment.
The skin mended itself where her leg had been injured and magical energy curled around the crack, adding reinforcement to the nearly-burst bubble.
Of course, she wouldn't be able to cast outside this sphere for awhile due to the solidity of the sphere, but all she needed now was a temporary shelter. Maybe she might be able to get a couple of questions in if she sealed herself in tight enough. [Relv Taastus]
Then again, there was the problem of the yellow eyed man's willingness to talk to her. Yes, this bubble might give her limited protection if he decided to use Jack's considerable powers against her, something she still feared though she had gained a bit of dominance in her time, but she certainly needed a backup plan.
After she had chanted again for safety, she rolled her ball around the current madness demon, making a wide arc around him while maintaining a respectable distance.
"Tell me, person, what do you mean by these things you say? Jack did not tell me that he was mad at me."
Her chanting resumed at a more placid pace.

Seraphina watched the death of Jack and let out a chirp of surprise. The transformation flattened her to the window sill and it took her a moment to get back up on her little legs. She had thought he was stronger than this, but if he was strong then this other demon was stronger and she was relatively screwed. So with that in mind. She watched in horror as Jack, but not jack rose up, the cleave to his head a sickening sight. She did not know what to do, heal him or not. But then the being formerly known as Jack spoke and looked at her. His eyes were yellow and not red. This scared her. She really should just fly away out the window that she now sat upon. But it would be rather nice to know what was going on. Especially if she needed to heal him that once was Jack, still is, or whatever. This was becoming so confusing. How had he survived that attack.. and then it hit her, the last part about the demon had said about breaking the body apart, she let out a chirp that could have been mistaken for a 'meep' of sorts. She could not let Jack's body be torn apart by this other demon. Why did everyone else have so many personalities in their bodies. Although she did like the bubble shield the female/male/it demon had created she would have to remember that one.

| “ Tch not very bright are ya Iskra, and here’s Jack thinking that your a special one how cute of him it makes me fucking sick”. He let out another laugh. “ Let em spell it out for ya girlie....”. As he spoke he let out another of Jack’s spells the one without the chant required so that he could disguise the attack and keep her distracted. He raised up a finger as the attack launched itself out. “ You think that a pride demon would lower his head to another? You may see it another way little girl but allow me to put it in this matter for you....This all started when you and your little bitch Ly-sorry Lethe began getting all uppity, Jack did you a favour and did as you asked, got you a kami and a rather cute ass one at that. He was expecting thanks, Something for his efforts, not easy kidnapping a kami from the heart of Mare Maris after all, got your ass some of the good shit, not just some regular chicken but some premium breast meat!”. He grinned “ Finger fuckin lickin”. At this point he would follow up his part of the story with a spell. The same spell as before. With one chant he unleashed the haemorrhaging curse upon her aimed at her head and three of her limbs.
“ And then when he was expecting that...well you decided to get all bitchy, instead of thanking him, you pushed it back in his face, now how do you think that kind of thing feels to an egotistical bastard whose ego is in fact a portion of his own soul?”.
He ran his hand back through his hair. “ And then to add insult to injury, you tore off his arm, seriously. Great move reminds me of something I did with snakes, I think. Makes me think of snakes anyways. My...my hands cold...hm odd....So after all this he’s left shattered, pride broken and you come in all apologetic and he thinks about forgiving you, and now there’s this”. He gestures at the bed. “ Now you try to take his angel ass thats right! Jackie boy got some hot wings of his own! You’ve crushed the Pride of a Pride demon girl, how do you expect him to feel all happy happy smile time?”. The man behind the door then went silent with the laughter. In a strange monotone voice almost unbecoming of him he stared at her with those yellow eyes.
“ But I have to thank you, each time you knock him down, I get stronger..soon...this body...it’ll be mine..fr keeps so com’on...tear him apart...help me put Jack behind the door!”.

| This time, the hyena did not move her huge bubble, not because she didn't see him raise his gloved hand towards her, but because she was simply approaching the point where she didn't care to. Besides, hopping around like a rabbit was undignified and made it harder to listen to the words he said.
So her bubble took the brunt of the first attack and trembled mightily under the force, the mass of ice groaning and rolling back slightly.
And she continued to listen to what he had to say, however, a mix of emotions came over her.
First, hurt arose. She didn't know that Jack's arm wasn't going to grow back. Why did he not tell her his feelings? Was their friendship that fragile? Was his subordination that conditional?
These emotions began to swirl within her, and in them was a certain power hidden there long ago by a certain kamikonjou and his blood-red flower.
As the second attack came, a snow-white crane feather fell to the bottom of the bubble [Kulm Paike]. There was a wind that appeared to only affect the hyena, and a thousand whispers and mumblings and cries of many, many different creatures. In that odd storm, their faces and forms appeared and disappeared around her, making themselves seen and heard through the maelstrom of frost around her.
As it shattered, Iskra stood up, her body changing quickly until it became the form that she first approached Jack in all of that time ago. For the moment, she didn't appear to fear another attack, but at the same time, she wasn't attacking him herself.
"Jack..." she murmured, standing a respectful distance away, her voice strangely clear above the chaotic souls around her. "I'm sorry. I'm not used to thanking people. It's a human concept, but thank you for everything you've done."
"If it displeases you to be in my clan, you are dismissed. I wish you well, and I'm sorry. I did not know that you wished to have your kami to yourself."

Jack or rather the stranger in Jack's body was spouting madness about things that Sera knew nothing about. this confused her. So this person and jack were warring over Jack's body. What in the world should she do. All she knew was that he was dying before her and she could not let this other man destroy Jack. It just was not going to happen. But in this form she dared not speak more than she had to. She did not want to attract the eye of any of them. For fear that she would be killed. The best thing to do would be to Heal Jack. And possible Heal the other demon if it was within her power. So with a soft chirp (heal), she cast her spell. Jack would begin to glow in a soft blue light as his wounds began to heal. All this was done amidst their conversation.
The other demon had begun to speak by the time her spell was completed. While the demon was speaking, she would chirp (heal) again and recast the spell. Healing Jack a second time unless stopped or interrupted. She could not stand to see Jack die. It was just not in her to watch that happen. After the second healing spell if it was successful, she would sit back and watch to see what happened next in the conversation.

| As lovely as the whole process concerning Iskra and her emotive exploits were. The man behind the door wasn't much for caring. Well that one was a difficult one to put in hand and explain. Jack was what you'd call an unemotive Jackass and Penny was in reality the only one of the two that was actually capable of feeling. Not that either of them knew thusly. But all this attention was focused on Jack and not the man ehind the door. Iskra was talking to Jack in that human female form that she had first encountered him in. And it was pissing him off. Raising up his augmented arm. He prepared to make a move to rip her head off. " Sorry pretty, Jack's not home right now, but I'll be sure to tell him later". And thats when Sera's healing spell hit. Now usually this would have been more of a thank you moment from the man behind the door to the little bird. However the moment that healing spell hit. Jack's conciousness once again began to stir. The man with yellow eyes only at this stage realised that his control over Jack only came in the form of undeath. With Jack stirring again. Control was going to be that bit more difficult.
Thats when difficult became replaced with impossible. Specs of red began to flick through his eyes and that arm was refusing to swipe down on Iskra. The inner conflict between the two became resolved when the anchor holding the yellow eyed demon to the body seemed to snap. Placing him once again behind the door. And Jack. In control of his own actions again. He looked up at Iskra's pale blue eyes, that seemed to almost be the opposite of his own fiery red. " We are...As spirit and body...two always destined to conflict...but tied together...till death..". Those two words resonated within him. A strange echo within. By your side, till death. As promised. He blinked. The wound in his head, made slightly better by the healing powers of Sera but still bleeding.
"...I seem to have been judged...and found wanting...I must...depart...I cannot abide this..weakness...Sera...come with me or do not...but make your choice..".
Jack then looked back up at the female Iskra. " You and I have many things to discuss it would seem....but not yet...not today....In five days I shall make for your city, there we shall talk". With that, Jack dropped his transformation. And turned his back on Iskra and Sera, and began to walk away from the area.

| The arm raised high above her head. The great and tumultuous outcry from the souls around her, bound to her as they were, reached an utmost pitch. Run!, shouted one. Fight!, yet another. Do something... but she simply stood there, her eyes mildly meeting the yellow ones of her once-upon-a-time partner. As frightened as Jack had always been of the man behind the door, she felt an odd confidence about the situation. Perhaps it was the same confidence that had her feel comfortable in subordinating Jack in the first place. Maybe it was a confidence in Jack, that he was still in there somewhere and that he still remained a part of her clan, her family.
So she stared on, as though perhaps somewhere past that yellow haze she could see the soul of her friend.
And then the hummingangel behind him struck with her healing magic.
Jack came back in that moment, or so it seemed when his eyes started filling back out with their natural color, and she sighed. The frost-white aura around her almost sighed as well and settled down around her as a man might settle down after a nightmare. The whisps of wind died down and so did the licks of ice and wind swirling about the area until her magic was at rest.
She was tired despite herself: a mental weariness that wore on her spirit and bore upon her the gravity of what seemed to have happened, though she had no words for it.
Jack turned and walked away. "Goodbye then," she spoke after him, casting a glance at the angel. "I'll see you again too. We have something to talk about."
Her form dissolved around her again, and Iskra once again became the great beast.
The hyena yawned, turned around, and settled its massive form on the mattress behind it, keeping an eye open to watch where the woman intended to go, though the monster's body was already consigned to sleep.

| The humming bird watches the exchange between the two demons and continues to look between them as Jack begins to walk off. She chirped at the female, male, well other than Jack the demon, and then took of with a flap of her tiny wings. What would Iskra want to take to her about. Sera was scared and followed behind Jack until she finally caught up with him. If allowed she would land on his shoulder and touch her beak to his cheek, let him know that she was there and with him. Two more chirps (Heal Other) gave the same (+40 hp) healing that the first two did. She would not leave him and just like she had regrown his arm, she would heal him in this fashion until the head would had healed and his wounds had at least stopped bleeding. There she would remain until told otherwise. His little bird, the nickname had been more appropriate than Jack or Sera had ever realized.
But the the comment from Iskra made her still think what else they had to discuss. It was rather frightening. But she remained with Jack until they disappeared from sight.
