| A rather boring day that died and became a boring night. Or so Iskra thought as she crawled along in one of her newer forms. Something told her she'd been going in the right general direction, but so far she hadn't figured out why the poem had guided her here specifically. Not that she was complaining. The simple life in the woods helped her clear her mind, and she was acclimating herself to her newest form: a decidedly reptilian one. This form seemed to be more designed for hell. Indeed, she had to worry about how much heat she was getting, and if she didn't get enough it made her sluggish and sluggishness was a very unpleasant feeling. Not to mention that it left her somewhat vulnerable. But most creatures in these woods gave her a wide berth, or so it seemed, since she hadn't seen many. In fact, she'd grown quite hungry. The hunting wasn't so good, but she could subsist for a long time with nothing to eat, being a spirit and all. Something did come to her nose, however. She paused and studied the scent, flicking her tongue in and out of her mouth briefly as serpents were wont to do. Interesting. Her scales made a noise like wind rustling through leaves, but nothing more. Quietly, she made her way forward. [ EXP: 247 || +1 TEXP (1st post) ] | |

After Jack had told her she could not save the village. After Jack had told her it was useless to stop the destruction about to go on. After all was said in done. Her heart hurt and she fled deep into the western forests. She had no choice. She could not witness innocent people dying because of her. All because of her. The blood that was his, coursed through her veins and her heart beat as she ran. Eventually as night turned into day and then day into night. She stopped. Sera was tired and needed to rest in this all too human body. Too much had come to her mind, too many things to filter through and too many feelings brought up. So she looked for a place to bed down for the evening. She came across a number of burned out buildings. A village that was half destroyed and grown over with trees and brush.
It did not take her long to find enough of a building to take shelter in. There was even a bed, well what remained of one and right now that would work. So she bedded down for the night and let exhaustion set in. And she slept deeply in her human form. She only hoped that nothing came along to fight her. She could not stand it. Too much had gone on in the past few days that it would just take time to get everything in order. The darkness inside her causing her to dream strange things.

| The ophidian continued forward lazily over this particular district of the forest. Here and there large chunks of building lay about like headstones of a strange and distant age, illuminated by the ghostly light of the moon and the fickle flash of the fireflies. It wasn't that bad, Iskra thought as she crawled over a mossy rock, being this close to the earth. Somehow she'd always thought snakes disliked their lot, but if this was all they had ever experienced...
The cool grass brushed up against her scaled belly as she descended upon the ruin where the interesting smell came from. Specifically, she knew it to be a human, but it had a lift in it not unlike the scent of a bird. This bird aspect interested her, as birds tasted quite good.
Rotted, wooden beams criss-crossed her path like the arms of an ancient guardian, but she continued forward. Whatever emitted the smell became closer... warmer. The boards failed to creak.
Soon the monster came upon the sleeping form of a woman, and she found herself sorely disappointed. Her amber eyes narrowed in the darkness, casting a weak, sulfurous glow. It wasn't a bird, and she hadn't been a maneater for some months. Though she was loathe to break her clean record, she was hungry. Besides, humans died. That's just what they did. Consumption would just speed the process already underway in this person. "Ah, give me one reason I shouldn't eat you..." she said aloud, not sure if the woman would be awakened by her voice and not really caring either.

She slept soundly and had no idea of what was coming after her in such hunger. Little did she know what lurked near her growing ever closer. She just continued to sleep on, finding peace for the first time in a few days. Her dreams although began to turn for something much more. Jack was there in her dream holding her tightly, her wings folding around them. Then he left her and began a trek across the plains that burned a trail of death and destruction that ruined everything in its path. Those peaceful dreams were becoming nightmares. Perhaps it was due to the nature of the one slithering close to her. In her dream, a Rage demon rose up in front of her and brought its fist down towards her, his words echo the one rising above her, "Give me one reason, why I shouldn't eat you" With that she sat up, her opening as her arms came up in defense. The dream shattering much like her mind had done so many weeks ago. A spell whispering in the wind, but was soon lost in the night, like the dreams that were slowly fading from her mind. She blinked at the snake woman towering above her and gulped. "Good evening? Did I fall asleep in your bed" Like a fairy Tale gone wrong, she wondered about the snake woman. "I am so sorry" If allowed she would try to slip out of the bed and back away from the female. A confused look still on her face since she was certain if what she heard in the dream was because of the woman saying anything. "I guess I will just move on and find somewhere else to sleep?"

| The half-serpent refused to allow the nervous woman off of the bed. "Oh, you don't have to move. Don't worry; I don't know who it belongs to," she continued casually, a quick flick of her surprisingly muscular tail aiming to keep the woman on the slightly elevated mattress. "I meant that literally, I mean... I am pretty hungry, and you're the only thing that's not grass or trees or rocks for quite a distance."
She folded her arms, continuing on as though discussing the night weather outside. "You have kind of a spiritual smell about you. Are you a kami by any chance? If so, I guess I have to make a decision." One hand rose to support her chin as she looked the woman up and down. "You look like you'd make a good mother. Ah, but if I made you carry my child, then I wouldn't get to eat you."
Her snowy brows furrowed, and she continued to regard the kami as though she were some sort of draft animal for a cart. "Are you good with babies? You don't have any of your own, right? I'd want you to have plenty of time to look after mine."

She was not allowed to move from the bed as the woman above her began to speak in riddles. It reminded Sera of her own mind at the moment. She coughed nervously as she looked around for a way to escape. No such avenue existed. So she would have to use her wits and tongue to get out of this mess. Especially when the snake creature was asking about babies. What in the seven judgements was going on? Was that even possible? In that softy voice of hers, she answered the thing looming above her, "Well first off, Jack said that I was a Kami, but I am not too sure. He also said that I was his and his alone." Maybe just maybe this was a stab in the dark that perhaps if Jack was the Archdemon of Pride, this thing might know of him. "As for children, I do not have any that I can remember. Since I lost my memories a few weeks past." She could not lie but since that was a part of her past that she could not remember she had to be careful how she phrased things. Having lost her memories, she would not remember if she was good with kids or not.

The monstrous woman became still at the word "Jack".
Of course, Jack was a semi-common name, but having been acquainted with mystic beasts, who almost always have names that are unique, She'd never had to learn the concept of other Jacks.
"Jack said that you are his?" she said, her horned head tilting slightly to the side with the thought.
For a moment, she simply let those words rest in the air. If Jack had this kami, then how many others did he have? And why would he deprive her of that one kami he had flipped out over?
Well, there wasn't any way of knowing except perhaps to explain herself to this angel before her.
And so, Iskra climbed up onto the bed. However, in the process, her body broke down. The woman half specifically became invisible in the ambient darkness, and when its eyes reopened, they were blue and white. Her form had shifted, though it maintained a sort of scaliness about it. Specifically, she now appeared as some white, spotted beast. Her head, shoulders, and body appeared to be that of a hyena, though with decidedly draconian scales and spikes in areas. Her tail was long, like a cat's, and her body was covered in spots like a snow leopard's. Even then, she was very large for any of those animals she appeared to be a hybrid of. That, and she was a bit larger than your average tiger.
During the process of the shifting, she'd become male as well, though this wasn't visible due to his lying-down posture.
"Do you want to hear a story?" he asked the woman mildly, continuing on regardless of the answer. "Your Jack kidnapped one of your kind before. An angel... looked sort of like you, actually. Dragged her away from her kind and safety and everything she knew to experiment on her. He wanted the blood of a creature that was half as my kind and half as your kind, so for him I placed my seed in her. It was his intention afterwards to keep the woman and kill the child and extract its blood." The beast's expression darkened. "So I fought him and won. I didn't wish for him to kill what would have been my offspring. Anyways, it's important for you to know that I'm his leader, so I'm basically entitled to you if you belong to him." He yawned. "However, you should have told me sooner. This means I can't eat you, which is a real pain. Leaves one option, I guess." He stood up. The mattress creaked ominously. The monster's gender was now obvious. "You ready?"

The woman climbed up on the bed and started to change forms into something so different, she could not describe it with words. Sera was lost for speech during the whole story telling session of this strange night. Jack had said there was tenderness in what they had. She felt special in his arms. And then the whole blood thing hit her like a hammer blow. A memory surfaced and she shook it off. Her head tossing back and forth as it became apparent that the woman had shifted into a male. Stranger still was the thought of being impregnated this alien thing above her. "Please, do not. I beg of you." If this person was over Jack and his leader was it true that she subject to its desires, "Please. Jack infused his blood into me. So I may not be pure Kami anymore. Not what you are looking for in a mother. I am partially demon like him and I guess you. If you are hungry, I can fetch you something to eat. Hunt for you. Especially if you are His leader" That's right Sera was babbling as she began to scoot up on the bed into a sitting position, her legs tucking up under her and her back against the ruined wall. "seriously, I am a very good cook." Her eyes looked a bit confused and wild for the moment as she figured she could sort all of this stuff with Jack out later. If she made it to later. "I would be honored to serve the Mistress of Jack, some dinner."

| The woman's begging initially appeared to only gladden the beast more as he licked the woman's face and pressed his much larger body up against hers, pinning her to the mattress, though her clothes saved her from any bodily contact.
Right before the monster would have cleanly ripped the interfering threads off of her body, however, he remembered how hungry he was and stopped.
For a moment, he looked at the woman, the gears in his head turning.
"Well, if I do this now, then you can always get me food later and I won't have to worry about you escaping," he began speculatively. "Then again, I guess I'm too hungry to do this anyways... wait a minute." The monster frowned angrily. "Are you implying that you're better than me at hunting? I've looked everywhere all night and there's not a mouthful of meat to be found anywhere." He growled, his remaining hair rising in undulating waves before something else occurred to him. "Then again, humans are good at making food out of nothing. Kami might have the same ability."
He stood up and trotted two steps back, allowing the angel to sit up if she wanted to. "I don't really care about the composition of your blood, just the composition of your heart. Your kind are generally good and would be kind to an infant. That's all I want, really. If you were part demon, that's good. That means Jack won't be interested in killing our child, but that's not important right now."
He tilted his head to the side. "Tell me, kami, where are you going to find me meat?"
The beast looked expectantly on.

A sense of relief fell upon the little Kami as she smiled weakly at the now male, once female thingy that might be, could be, probably was a demon of some unknown, not classified, purely alien origin. She was so confused and afraid that she was about to do just about anything not to be raped why this creature whatever the burning faiths it may be. But it backed up and she glanced around for the moment. If it had been chasing down prey all night and not finding any, then just how did she plan to find it. That was when the light bulb in her brain flickered on and she was hit with the best idea available. That darkness of Jack coming in handy it gave her abilities and thoughts she would never normally have. She looked at the tiger sized demon thingy, he she it whatever, and the smile grew a bit more firm. "well as I can see, you are majestic and a great Hunter I very sure of. Much better than myself. But so far you have assumed large forms in front of me. I can assume the form of the tiniest of birds and thus appear to be less frightening to prey, especially due to my own angelic nature. I can search them out and then you can attack and kill them. Thus filling your belly. They will not know what hit them. You are a mighty hunter where as I am just prey. But that can get me in among the rest of the prey." She waited to see how this idea would fair for the hungry creature.

| The monster smiled, seeming satisfied by this explanation of things, though he wasn't entirely convinced that it would work. It was worth a try.
"Ah, great. So we'll find some food quickly, and I'll have energy so we can make a lot of cute babies." He sat back and grinned, a cat-smile that looked almost out-of-place on his fearsome visage.
He began to walk past the woman towards the door. For a moment, he stopped, standing in front of it. "I guess common sense should tell you that a fate worse than death awaits you if you're trying to trick me."
The beast's form began to dissolve once more, much as it had the last time, blending into the ambient darkness of the room. When the darkness cleared, the glint of metal armor became visible. Now instead of some sort of monster, a broad-shouldered man stood. His back was to the angel, leaving his waist-length ponytail visible until he turned briefly to face her, his skin as smooth and milky as the moonlight outside. Indeed, the irises of his eyes were a strangely light hue of blue, like the moon often is when it's visible before nightfall. "Understand, friend?"

Well at least the problem of rape was put off for a little while at least. Perhaps, if they were lucky, she could find enough to feed this beast enough to make him, it, she sleep. And then that would give Sera enough time to figure out a way to escape. What was up with everyone trying to have sex with her. It was rather strange. At the common sense statement, she nodded emphatically. "Of course. What should I call you? Since it seems like I am to be bringing you dinner? And how much can you eat?" She prayed to the five graces that she could get through this without being pregnant.
Then as she started to slip off the bed in order to go scout for food, a thought blossomed in her mind and she gave voice to it. "Say you.... well um..." She blushed at this point and coughed in an embarrassed way, "mate with me" this was said softly as she looked away for a brief moment walking slowly to the door. "And I do not get pregnant?" This would keep the beastie thing talking while she tried to find a way to get prey to fill its, hers, his belly.

| The answer came instantly. "We'd just try again until you did."
This also seemed like common sense to the man, though he supposed she did have a bit of a point. After all, he'd have to decide how much time he was willing to invest in making sure that the kami was actually carrying his child. These things could siphon off quite a few weeks.
"You can call me Iskra, and I eat about..." he tilted his head back, trying to think. "I can get full off of a decent-sized goat if I eat the bones too."
He withdrew a bladed chain from the side of his armor and began swinging it idly. Unfortunately, the angel mentioning mating took his mind back to it. "Ah, I hope we can find some meat soon. I want to get you done while it's still night time. Then again, I wasn't planning on doing much other than sleeping tomorrow. But you kami have human customs, don't you?" The man paused to open the door for the lady. "This is normal for you, then. The woman gets taken out to dinner and the man takes her back to his bedroom afterwards and fills her with his offspring. Human ways... are so backwards." He shook his head. "Your kind should be more like us. Hyenas have a much more complicated courtship. Then again, if I want to have a lot of offspring, it'd be better to just have a fast, human-style one."

So a deer would more that sate the evil creature. Good. Now that she knew what she had to find. And that bladed chain. Oh she was in trouble now. He had a weapon and she did not. He had armor that looked to be more than hers. Yes she was in trouble and nervous as a deer being stalked by a hunter. Sera nudged herself mentally and listened to what he was saying. She shook her head and replied softly, "I would not know the courting habits of either since I do not remember them. Why are you offering to court me? That would be a nice thing to do" There was another small light bulb flash. Maybe the long courtship of his kind would give her time to be rescued or rescue herself. "We could do this like your people. And you could teach me. If I am to have your children, I want to make sure I at least" there was gulp as she blushed again for what she about to say, "please you." Anything to keep him talking and looking for a weakness to exploit. Again the darkness of Jack coming in handy as her mind veered down a different path than most kami's would take. She was not lying. Not breaking her code. There was that "If" in there. As he held the door open for her, she stepped out into the darkness of the night.

| "Oh, you don't have to worry about learning the ways of my people," Iskra continued on in a somewhat defeated tone. "I ate them all. Besides, there are physical differences. Your females seem to be missing a pen--"
A bleating interrupted his sentence halfway through.
He blinked and looked down. The plaintive bleating continued.
It was a goat. A charming little goat. Cute, helpless, and apparently tame.
"Ah, are you lost?" The man asked the little creature. It bleated helplessly in reply. He picked it up easily and examined it, squeezing its haunches and belly. "Got quite a bit of meat on you. A good find, definitely."
Gently, he shoved Seraphina back into the hut. "Back on the bed. Looks like we won't be needing to do any hunting." The sheep bleated again. "We're pretty lucky, huh?"

"Burning Faith and the seven Judgements. A goat?" For a moment Seraphina glanced up at the ceiling with an expression of why me. What did I do again? And then she shook her head as she was gently push back towards the bed. She glanced fleetingly at the open door and wished for one moment that she was anywhere else, with anyone else. But her feet found themselves heading back towards the bed. Sera stops for a moment and looks at the goat and then back up at Iskra. "Could you please slaughter that outside. The blood might attract things in the night. Please I really would not like to hear it die." The kami part of her was coming up and she looked at the man pleadingly. Needing to by more time this was perfect and rather truthful. She did not like to thought of hearing the cute little thing die. "Did you still want me to cook for you?" She was grasping at straws and looking for anyway out now. Trapped, again. Caged again. What had she done to deserve this?

| Iskra placed the goat on the floor, and it pranced over to the bed like a little lamb, putting its front hooves up on the bed and looking up at her, its golden eyes full of nothing but unadulterated trust.
M-m-m-m-maaaah~
The sight of humans plainly gladdened the little creature, and it rubbed its head affectionately up against the angel, bleating his happiness all the while, its little stub of a tail up in the air.
The man tilted his head to the side for a moment. "Ah, I thought slaughtering was a part of how you cooked things. Honestly, you're going to have to do it." He scratched his head, his expression almost apologetic as he explained. "Hyenas don't really kill stuff before they... we eat them. We just eat them the way they are. Tastes better that way. I don't really know many humane ways to kill stuff, and I don't care to learn. If I'm going to have a cooked meal, I'd prefer it prepared from start to finish. Besides, it'd be less painful for the goat if you did it, I think, since you're nice and all."
The goat hopped up on the bed and curled up next to the angel, resting against her in perfect security, glad to have a place to rest in contrast to the frightening night outside.
"If you want, I could just eat him like I'd normally do and we can get right to the childmaking, if you'd prefer. We're very fast eaters, my kind..."

As the little create exhibited such cuteness as the Kami herself had, she could not let the thing die. As she sat on the bed, the goat followed her and she began to stroke the things head. That was when she knew she was lost. Her voice trembled as she turned those cute pleading red eyes up to the demon, "I-I cannot kill it. It is just too much. It trusts me." She felt defeated as she watched the male for his reaction. "Please do not eat him. He is too domestic." She had to come up with something else to feed the hungry demon. "Do you have to have meat? I can do a stew made from what I can find around here. A very hearty stew. You will not know you are not eating meat." She only hoped it would work.
Her arms wrapped around the little goat as she sat on the bed, looking lost and protective of the little creature. The pride that was normally her backbone fled as she swallowed it and proceeded to beg the demon for the life of this goat. "Please, do not eat it or kill it." She would start on the not raping her later. But first she was pleading prettily for the life of this ignorant creature. She knew that she was walking to a trap over a goat. But it was part of being a Kami.

| Iskra's brow furrowed at this unusual development. She... wanted to protect... food?
Then again, the wild spirit had to recall the difference between himself and the kamikonjou. The kamikonjou usually took the form of herbivorous creatures, or at the very least "killed things before they ate them" like Lethe did.
It wasn't necessarily out of any moral obligation that Iskra agreed to not eat the little beast, but out of a kind of confusion. There were so many concepts at play here that he had difficulty with.
"I guess you can have that one. I do need meat, though. I guess I'll just eat the next thing we f--"
M-m-m-m-aaaaaah!
A higher-pitched cluster of bleating interrupted the black-haired one once again, but oddly enough, it wasn't from the goat snuggling the woman on the bed.
Iskra turned around, somewhat puzzled.
Through the door cavorted and tumbled many miniature versions of the goat already in the room. They were diverse in color, but uniform in their level of cuteness.
They ran joyfully to their mother, who bleated back to them as they climbed the bed and snuggled against her side.
Iskra smiled on the scene warmly.
"Ah, a solution. What great luck." His form began to dissolve again and reform into the beast from earlier.

At this point in time, the demon agreed to let the goat live, but he looked so confused. Time to make her next move.... then more goats and she looked heavenward and called upon all the graces in heaven by name as well as went the the list of faiths and judgments silently. When she was done with that short prayer, she looked to the demon who had just shifted form again and moved to where she was in front of the little goats. "Now you cannot kill them." She hit the point home that Iskra had made about Jack earlier, "Would you want someone to kill your own children? You got angry at Jack for suggesting that. Imagine this poor little mother loosing her own brood of children. How would you feel in her place. You at least are able to defend them, being the mighty hunter. But a goat cannot defend her young." She pressed her advantage of his confusion from earlier hoping to keep him confused and talking in circles. The fire inside the Kami blazed forth and shone in her eyes. A holy fire burned as she spoke. Maybe the goats had been her saving graces and she would silently give thanks while continuing her speech. "Please understand. You cannot eat them, they are just babies. It would be like letting Jack kill your children."

| By the time the man finished turning into a beast, he developed a bit of a listening problem. Specifically, it wasn't until he'd seized one of the tender young goats between his bonecrushing jaws and brutally dragged it away from the litter. It cried out. Its mother and brothers and sisters cried out.
He held the struggling little thing beneath a heavy paw as the angel began to speak. He seemed to be regarding her words for a minute, but the moment she finished speaking, the beast tenderly fixed his jaws about the crying infant creature's leg and yanked upwards with a smooth movement.
The leg came off, and with it a section of the little goat's newly-form pelvis, and with it a length of warm intestine. The bleat turned into an outright shriek. The mother goat got up and attempted to butt the beast. He turned his shoulder to the protective mother and enjoyed audibly enjoying his snack with so many loud crunches and the sound of ripping flesh. The acrid smells of blood and waste filled the air, and they were overwhelming. The child goat fell dumb, though it continued to draw ragged breaths, its eyes open in shock.
"Better come get your goat," the beast said through a mouthful of veal. "But I see that you don't understand. You tell me what I cannot do. When I've got energy, I'll have to display my dominance somehow. It's my way."

She stared blankly at the demon as her righteous fire died and she slide to the floor, reaching for the goat and pulling her back. Tears formed in her eyes as she watched the poor thing being eaten alive. "Please. I-I am sorry. Please, please. Do not hurt him anymore. I can still heal him. Please" Again she was back to her pretty pleasing. She looked so submissive, on her knees, her dress pooled around her. Those tears leaked down her cheeks, staining them a blood red. "I was n-not telling you want to do. It was a misunderstanding. I was trying to plead for its life. Please." A gentle sob comes forth. "please." Her voice spoke of truth, she was a kami after all and she could not outright lie. "Please. I promise not do that again." Her hair fell around her head in that fully submissive I have no will left posture. She just wanted this little thing to live and not have its life snuffed out so quickly. "No need to show your dominance, you already have. I cannot stand to see it suffer."

| Iskra rolled his eyes. By now a lot more of the little goat had gone missing: another leg, an arm, and the larger portion of his abdomen. The kid lost the ability to cry out, but it still stared and shifted in short, pained jerks, never quite dying. "How greedy are you?" the beast began, his irritation plain in his tone. "There you've got a large goat and two smaller ones you aren't even using, but you cry over my small bit of meat. Are you in charge of me that you should have more than I do? Are goat lives more important than my own that they should live in happiness while I should suffer and perish?" The mother goat cried out helplessly, struggling against Seraphina's protective grip. "Is the life of a tame creature worth more than that of a freeborn one? You seemed ready enough to end some guiltless wild creature's life earlier for my sustenance. This is backwards. A wild animal never asked anything from anyone. A tame animal spends its entire life taking, taking, taking from others. Its death is when it gives, and that's not much. Everything has to die, after all. A tame creature only has death as its purpose."
The half-goat moved weakly against his white chest, now stained a deep red with the infant goat's warm life fluids. Iskra paused for a moment, thinking again.
"Then again, your kind have that injustice built into them. They favor the cute and the weak. If it had been a family of baby serpents I had attempted to eat or if I had fed on an infant worm demon, I doubt you would have shed so many tears. I suppose it's not really something you can help."
He took the baby goat's ear into his teeth and, after walking carefully past Seraphina on the floor, picked up its dripping, wriggling form, placing it gently on the bed. He turned and smacked the mother goat unconscious before gently pulled the crying angel back onto the mattress, laying atop her and pawing the half-goat to a spot within her reach. Tenderly, he licked her tears and spoke into her ear in soft tones. "You aren't much different from an infant yourself. Quiet now. Heal the little thing and get some rest. I've eaten enough for now. We've got a busy morning. Ssssh..."
The tongue came out again and he gently licked her neck. "We can make offspring tomorrow instead as long as you rest tonight. Don't cry anymore. Sleep..."
The hidden implication was that if she didn't rest soon, they'd commence to making offspring, but the angel seemed distressed enough without him driving the point home.

Sera watched as the half eaten goat was placed, bloodily upon the bed. Then in a swift moment, he was knocking the mother unconscious. She was startled and thus was easy to pull to the bed with the baby goat still alive and half eaten. It broke her heart and she was about to throw up at the thought of being raped beside it. But then she was given leave to heal it and get some rest. A sigh of relief came as she began to heal the little creature by growing back its body parts. It would take a few uses of the spell that she knew. A soft word of healing (Restore l Perfected) and she would begin the healing process. After the thing was fully healed she collapsed into the bed. Her captor had licked the blood of her cheeks in a tender way and then her neck. And thanks to his words, she quieted down, getting the implications of the undertones. She was would be safe until more. Somehow someway she fell into a sleep next to the unique at best looking demon.
He was right, she was like an infant, barely strong enough to fend off anything. Crying at the slightest problem. If only she had access to her memories then, it would be easier. She would probably be a lot stronger. Oh the fates and graces must be laughing at the poor Kami now. Fallen from them as she was. But she would sleep on.
