Red crystal shards floating in the eye of the beholder. Is it ice that brings us closer to the end. Or is it fire? Is it god that chooses our fates before the devil. Or is it death that brings us mercy upon our souls. To know nothing is to understand the meaning behind it. For in nothing we trust and in nothing we stand. For it is of what we were bore. And it is to what we will one day return. Formless. Shapeless. Nothingness. A scream i the night calls out as a blade rises to the moon and claws down. The blood red crystals shatter across the floor like a fine spreading rust that knows no halt or sees no end. Darkness encroaches in, till the door creeps open and within it a small ray of light does touch this reddened floor. But the door shuts again and the dark returns as it always does. In the inner eye we see the soul of the eclipse. To this I do proclaim, life is cruel and death is kind. But it is better to die i honour than live as a coward. Pride is a controlling factor of all humans. But it does not complete them. It does not rule them. So what is it to say that if all creatures have their sins but not all demons have their virtues. Virtue and sin, each a corresponding alternate note to the other. The piano to the violin. Violence to pacifism. Vengenace to justice. Is it that one is always more overbearing than the other. That victory in the end always comes to those who are willing to sacrifice more. And those who are willing to sacrifice more arte the ones who do not care about what they do sacrifice. Morality. Is a weakness. A disease to be purged. Thus are the words of the demon lords.
Jack’s thoughts wee in flux as he dragged himself out of the pits, the demon of Pride had one singular goal in mind by coming back to Terra. Truely the last time he had been here it had been after discussing things with Iskra’s “servant”. The bear demon thing. The one that had gave him some things to think about just concerning how much truest Iskra actually had in him. Emerging from the pits Jack came forward with more of his demonic horde. Almost the entirety of it in combination with the ones that were already on Iskra’s land this brought the grand total of the horde to a far more terrifying number, one that thus far had not been seen on the realms of Terra in a combined number. There were rumours that a demon did exit just o the verges of diabolus lake with a group of demons under his command that made Jacks army look rather pitiful. But till, he was at this moment in time a force to be reckoned with leaving only a few demonic creatures behind to guard his land. Not that the barren wastes of Pride’s bastion actually had much to guard.
His plan at this stage was relatively simple, head towards Iskra’s land with the entirety of his army, and call in one of those favours that she owed him. At this point Jack could count at least two that she had indebted to him. One being the destruction of the dragon. The second of which came now that he knew she hadn’t properly looked for Hanabi. And well arguably the third came when she took his arm. Jack wanted something from her to pay back at elast one of those debts and no doubt she would be in for some fun in the mean times with it. Jack’s goal was simple. He had been patient. Far. Too patient. His return to hell from Terra and his run in with the blood mage had reminded him of just how brutal the world really was. That in a demons heart, he had no room for virtue. He had no room for mercy. He was going to take his army to Iskra’s home. And he was going to have them make amp till he entered talks with the Matriarch. He was going to propose that they join forces into a unified single assault upon a location on Terra. And once the assault was over. They’d split the remnants. And Jack would reclaim his property. Or destroy it. Depending entirely upon what condition she was in when he found her again. There were many complications in being a demon of pride. One of which was the fact for one reason or another he was bound by a twisted warped sense of personal honour. Note the words, personal honour. It all really depended on just what Jack took pride in. Jack had claimed Sera as his own from that moment on she had been his and he had seen her as both a person and as a personal belonging. In his eyes her value to him as a servant and as company was depreciating by the day. And would likely only get worse. Up till the moment where he actually did reclaim her. At which point he would determine the value of her belonging. Jack would not tolerate second hand policies. But regardless. Whatever happened to her was his choice. Once again those sharp shards of crimson crystal cutting into his mind like ruby daggers. Stumbling ever forward as the memories of those earlier days of her capture played out in his mind. The smile upon her face as he asked her if she wanted to go see the human realm again. He should have never let that bird out of her cage. She hadn’t been that happy in hell. And despite being what he was, he at least tried to take care of his play things ( is that what she is now?) her happiness depended upon her reaching the human world for a little bit. That would have at least made her stay within the demonic realm a little easier. But it was not to be. Now he stood on the precipice of chaos, of change. Marching forward to meet the rest for his army. His eyes focus. Resolute. He would have his little bird back. And snuff back all who got in his way.
The walk was going to be long and it wasn’t going to be what you would call an easy trek particularly for a group of demons moving through Terra, his group before hadn’t been what you’d call discrete and it wasn’t as if this one was either. In this group, Jonah was the officer moving along with him. Ceila was already with the others at Iskra’s land. He didn’t quite like them being there without him, after all for his kind Terra wasn’t the safest of places. Not that he particularly had any feelings for whether or not they died, just that if they died before he got there then it was going to be a waste of that death.. A death that was not in service to him was not a deatht hat he wanted to happen. Jonah had been staring at him throughout the march, he didn’t think that Jonah knew that he’d noticed this. The elader fo fear was a careful individual and was a most effective scout and spy. But Jack knew when he was being watched. And knew to be cautious of all his officers. Each of them were demons after all and the only loyalty that bound them together was the kind that came with the iron fist. Jack knew though just why Jonahw as staring at him. He was wondering just why Jack as dragging out his entire army onto the plane of terra and putting them at risk all for the sake fo a single Kami test subject who arguably Jack shouldn’t really care much about at all. Jacks hatred of the Kami was well documented as extreme even amongst the demons dragging back to his time just after the dawn when he and Hanabi had encountered what one could lightly call as trouble from the angelic creatures who were trying to hunt down and extinguish the life of Jack. Jack had played it off as merely being a matter of pride. The creature belonged to him, and thus he wwas not going to tolerate her being owned or touched by anyone other than himself. Part of that was true, there was also truth to her being a valuable test subject for his blood magic experiments, after all she carried the blood of a Pride Demon in her veins now, how that would develop interested Jack greatly. She was valuable. And he wasn’t going to let something like that just slip out of his hands without a fight. Since their last encounter he had given her the option of returning to him. But she hadn’t done so. Even when he had offered to spare the village if she did so. Jacks anger creeping in once more. He had to push it down and focus of the practicality of everything. The march ended when night fell. Despite this being the easiest time for demons to travel he preferred to have them move openly during the day. In the dark it was too obvious as to what their intent might be. After all people see monsters in the dark they automatically think that these monsters are going to attack them or their homestead and will either run away and tell others or if they had a strong enough resistance they would attempt a pre-emptive assault. And Jack didn’t want losses on this march. At least not enough that would effect their oerall battling capability. Resting them at night in a camp kept up their energy levels whilst at the same time allowing for the idea of passivity. If such a thing was even possible. He kept members of Fear on the edges of their camp to make sure that no one got through or was caught spying. Any one who did would likely end up as breakfast before the morning march. Jack sat solitarily next to a fire. Staring into the blaze and remembering his own time on this world huddled next to a camp fire with a human. The face of Hanabi seemed to dance in those embers. Then Sera’s. Iskra’s. The women who had been in his life. Ever since the dawn Jack had constantly been on his own and these women, they had come into his life but theyw were never really in it. Jack had always been on his own, they only existed on the fringes of just what he was. After Hanabi there hadn’t been much to his own feelings. He’d always tried to block them out and embrace his demonic nture. And for a long time that had worked. He had embraced pride, became the embodiment of it. From then on it had been easier to isolate himself from everything. But thats before all these events started occurring. Events which began with the arrival of a strange dark skinned woman on his land. Iskra had been weak. Timid. He had taught her how to utilize the power of magic and had continued to watch as she grew stronger. But that strength like the company of Hanabi became a subtle poison dripping onto his head. He had taught her too much, gotten too involved and now she hd given him reason to want to kill her. Well. There was more to it than that. She had compromised his pride. She had beaten him and taken his arm. She had put shame upon him. And this was unforgivable. She had no thanks for him. And now were once he had been happiness in seeing the eager face fo his pupil he only felt the bitter contempt of that shame of awakening with no arm. Of seeing himself in such a horrid state after the battle. Of having to live knowing that he’d been betrayed in such a horrible way by a person that he had trusted.
Sera, perhaps it had been the blood addiction, but he had begun to open up to that woman as well. She was nice and the feeling of being accepted for who and what hew as was something all too foreign to Jack. Iskra had done it, and perhaps that’s why he let her in as far as he had as well. Jack looked up briefly, eyes glazed over in a sort of dream like trance. Jonah was looking at him again, once again the eyes of the fear demon didn’t feel all that great upon him, he began to question the real relevance of this entire trip as to whether or not he had to do it. Then again marching his army all the way back to the seat of pride wasn’t going to be much of a show of confidence in his power. Besides. Showing the demons in this way that he would unleash fiery wrath and destruction upon any of the people who screwed with him in any minor way was going to strengthen his leadership. Jack had given Seraphina her chance. And now it was time for him to take things into his own hands. To destroy the place she now called home, and drag her back kicking and screaming if he needed to. He would remind himself, and himself. Of his true nature as a lord of pride.
In the morning things began to move once more. This time Jnah however had decided to start walking next to him. And in the first few hours he was silent. But then began to talk to him. “ Jack”. Jonah said almost hesitantly. “ Just what are you planning this for?”. And there it was, the question that he couldn’t really answer. At least not honestly. “ I already told you Jonah, she’s a valuable subject for my experimentation and could be a viable weapon in our fight against the Glutton”. Jonah looked at him with suspicious eyes, not quite believing everything that he said. “ Just how would she make a good weapon Jack, she couldn’t beat you, so what chance does she stand against the Glutton?”. Silence for a few moments as Jack’s brain quickly began to calculate the bullshit. “ Well its rather simple Jonah, as you know I’ve been experimenting lately with the mixing of certain blood types, but at the same time placing a focus on keeping those blood types separate....During my experiments I concluded that the blood of a Kami and the blood of an Oni, the taint and the blessing will try to conflict with one another till one eventually overcomes the other, now in her I’ve made it so that the blood that I infected her with was laced with those symbols keeping the demonic blood and kami blood separate. Making the curse and bless exist simultaneously”. Jonah looked confused, and that was precisely Jack’s plan on that one, it was easy enough to try and trick someone when you started spouting out information they had no idea about. Jack was in a way telling the truth. Whilst he had infected her with his blood, he hadn’t done it with blood that was marked with the symbols. So the blood would effectively mix making ti o that one overcame the other. I sera due o her good nature he expected that her Kami blessing would overcome the curse eventually, but even if she did. Her blood wasn’t as strong as Jack’s and he doubted that it would ever be. Thus despite thebless overcoming the curse. She would remain tainted so long as his power exceeded hers. “ Further research might reveal how we can use the Kami’s blessing as a weapon against the Glutton whilst creting a weapon that is also immune to the curse”. At that point Jonah’s eyes softened. It seemed that the leader of fear had fallen for that one. Good it was easier that way. “ Oh I see, in that case I suppose ti does make some sense to want to recapture her...and I suppose it gives the men something to do other than fight hunger thralls and guard mass wastelands”> Jack nodded. That was true. Doing this would at least give them somewhere to channel their stress and anger, and that was particularly true when it came to the demons of Rage. As the mid day sun began to pass over them Jack looked to his left and saw one of those plants that Iskra had told him about. The blood red flowers that apparently were native to the kami realm. He had always found those a bit of an oddity. His brain began to race as to just what he was going to say to Iskra other than “ I need you to help me do this”. After all he needed to keep up his passive display in front of her. Not that he would ever show it in front of his own army of course. Jack began to see the pitches of the group who had had left here on the edges of Iskra’s land, and before he managed to get any closer something dropped from the skies.
Ceila. She landed right in front of he and Jonah, Dropping down from one of the trees. “ Hey Jackie....Jonah”. She waved at Jack and nodded at Jonah. “ So here we are, been waitin on ya all coming. Its been rather annoying really can’t believe you marched us all that way just to have us turn back and come here, that place would’ve been easy pickings I tell ya! Now you know after they’ve seen you they’ll probably start thinking about security upgrades and stuff!”. Despite the way she had said it Jack really could not disagree with her logic on that one, she was quite right. There was a real possibility that they would be upping their defences after that encounter. But he didn’t think it would make much of a difference when it came to a combined force like this would be.
“ Jonah, take the men and have them mingle among the other group, I’m going to go talk to Iskra. Ceila, walk with me to the borders”.
Jonh nodded and took off with the rest of the men. Ceila followed close behind “ How are your group?”. Ceila looked up at him and sniggered. “ Annoyed, they didn’t get their fill of lusty virgins”. Jack shook his head. “ But then again Jack by the looks of this gathering nor have you...or is she a virgin now?....”. Jack looked down at Ceila with that stare of his and she looked away. “ They’re frustrated”. She said in a more serious tone. “ They want blood”. Jack looked around him as he walked towards Iskra’s capital. Crossing into that border now. “ Well with the arrival of the back up forces no doubt they’ll be getting just that soon. “ Prepare them...I’ll be back soon”. With that. Jack entered Iskra’s city. The humans there were wary of him. He could smell it in them. That increased heartbeat. Sweat, adrenaline ready to tip into the system. Well. It was fun.

.the electric rat festival
Sweat filled the night. Adrenaline. Bodies scrambling about to a sound not unlike a heartbeat...
...but it wasn't from fear.
Far off in the building that Iskra usually resided at, an ancient system of wires all but jerked with the electricity being pumped through them by a number of thunder rats thanking their god for their new camaraderie with the populations of Rasvamaal with a great celebration. Banners adorned even the most modest of the ruins. Maidens, men, and spirits of various descriptions and level of drunkenness danced around a massive bonfire in the center of town, their arms about each other's shoulders forming a bouncing, writhing circle. The smaller rat spirits formed an inner ring closer to the fire that clumsily imitated the humanoids' movements. Scattered around the circle, people danced on their own. Couples snuggled each other. Old men chugged mead, and there was mead absolutely everywhere. In the middle of the bonfire was a massive metal statue: an angel of some description wielding a device. Its glassy eyes almost glowed, alight with the intensity of the fire as it looked down upon the party with its permanent smile.
Members of a darker-skinned people could be seen dancing with sticks that had both ends alight. Some of them had chains with flaming sacs at the end, and the flames of these were of various color. They spun these around for the benefit of other people who had apparently consumed some manner of mind-altering herb. These huddled atop each other and stared at the fires. The thunder rats danced with each other, their cheeks sending sparks around to join those of the fire dancers. Tables of food residing beneath tents had been attacked, though there was still plenty left: whole roasted herbivores... berries... bread... potatoes... corn... more corn... grain...
But they were certainly having fun. There wasn't any doubt about that. An active patrol eyed the incoming demon suspiciously, but took no action. They were a reactive lot as opposed to proactive, and a few guests had arrived from out of town without incident.
None of them, the guard nor the guests, had any way to differentiate Jack from a normal party patron. One group of young men gathered around a keg like crows around a cornfield called out. "Hey, man! Welcome to the party! Come drink with us!"

There seemed to be some kind of party going on among the rat people. He remembered this lot and hadn’t seen them ever since he had helped Iskra liberate this piece of land from the “ dark god” who had apparently controlled it before. Iskra seemed to have taken their place as the god of this realm. Or queen. Not much difference between the two when it came too these lot. Jack stared at the one who spoke to him with unamused eyes, he didn’t seem to be in the partying mood. Jack stared at the one in question. Then his frown twisted into a grin. “ Sure, lets all have a drink!”. With that he picked up the thunder rat in what might be considered a part of the merriment. Swinging it around till he reached the centre of the dancers then. Chomped down. He bit into the creatures neck. His teeth slicing through fur skin and flesh taking a chomp out of the thunder rats neck area. Blood welled to the surface in seconds and he drank deeply before tossing the creature aside and wiping his mouth. “ Electrifying”. With that he looked at the others with that demonic glare of his Archdemon’s Presence. “Boo”. . He doubted Iskra would be amused at this turn of events but then again. Jack was Jack and something like drinking the blood of what would be considered pay would hardly be surprising.
Besides. The one he had bitten into wasn’t dead. He hadn’t bitten deep enough in to sever arteries. Just a few large veins. It would live. “ Bring Iskra to me”.

One of the drunken young men frowned as the pride demon picked up a random, female rat oni who happened to be near the keg and waltzed somewhere through the wall of bouncing bodies to a location out of his immediate, albeit hazy, sight.
The drunken young fellows looked at each other, shrugged, and resumed their laughing and drinking and telling of lewd jokes.
The exact center of the crowd wasn't circular, as those dancing around the bonfire with the giant, probably difficult to remove statue were at the front of the crowd. Thus, the center was comprised of a bunch of couples and groups dancing together with scattered gaps around light-based spectacles like the firedancers.
Where there were no firedancers, the night rested like a black cloak.
As a result, nobody really noticed Jack or his gaze but the rat he had bitten.
She lay on the ground, her thighs together and one knee bent in a very feminine manner as her cheek sparks turned as pink as a blush and she put one paw around her neck.
"Oh, mister..." she said, subdued and impressed by his strength and his assertiveness. Indeed, she was one of the few rats who knew how to read and had passed many long hours reading erotic literature about bloodsucking fiends. This was the sort of thing she'd dreamed of... the unique bit of pain in the neck... the blood... the humanoid lustily drinking her fluids, his lips soft and his breath warm against her neck as she arched her back and writhed helplessly... an atmosphere like this was suitable: the privacy of the darkness and the warmth of all the bodies writhing all around and the taboo of their forbidden love almost visible in the dark shadows of the public setting. Indeed, she whimpered submissively when that oddly bright, red, ominous glare of his fell upon her. A lesser spirit. Oh, whatever would she do if he decided to ravage her? He was so much larger than her and so much more powerful. The scent of her blood was upon the air, and she knew the predator would want her. And--
Oh. She found herself somewhat disappointed when he asked for Iskra. Was he a member of her harem? There were rumors around town.
"Please don't hurt me," she asked disingenuously, hoping he would. "The One Who Spins the Sacred Disks will know where she is. He's in the palace: the place you hear the hymn coming from. Please don't take me in front of all of these people. I'm begging you..." she crawled forward and wrapped her arms around his ankle. "Don't taint my purity with your demonic lusts."

“ Ok”. Jack was at this stage rather disturbed by this Rat creatures backwards advances upon him. Asking him not to do things and then crawling in towards him. He had got his answer though, some plate spinner was going to tell him just where the Matriarch was. Although to be honest he wasn’t too sure about just how he was going to find some plate/ disk spinning rat in the palace. Which would mean he was going to have to drag this rat along with him. He sighed and picked up the rat once more and tucked it under his shoulder. So it was in the palace in the place the hymns were coming from. Jack moved on and forwards when he heard the creature say something about taking it in front of all these people and then something about tainting its purity. He didn’t really respond to that one, just headed towards the palace. It wasn’t really that long before his enhanced ears began to pick up something akin to music. Couldn’t quite make it out clearly yet but he could certainly hear something. He had to wonder if it was that strange contraption that had been raving the noises and had Iskra at first terrified. Jack looked down at the small spirit tucked between his waist and arm. “ So Rat”. He said in a rather normal manner. “ You a virgin?”. He enquired almost innocently.....almost. EXP:262 PWC: 240

The rat made an excited, squeaking noise when the tall, dark man picked her up. Indeed, it was going exactly as it had in the novels. Despite her attempts at fleeing, it was futile and the strong, wicked beast of a man had captured her with perfect ease.
And so, she went with him, helplessly suspended in the air under his sturdy arms. Her hormones were going absolutely nuts.
"Nooo!" she cried out so loud that it was almost a moan.
She kicked her legs weakly into the air, but after less than a few seconds, gave up her struggles and simply enjoyed his smell and body heat. "Yes, I am a virgin," she said, injecting sorrow into her voice. "I will not be spoiled by the likes of you. Surely someone will rescue me if you tarry too long, you beast." She snuggled her head towards his chest, nipping a bit at his shirt as though she might be able to get it off through sure force of will. "Yes, surely someone has picked up on your vile activities and will be along if you don't hurry..."
Meanwhile, above them, Lion-O scurried along the banners that criss-crossed the sky from building to building above the party. "I knew it." The electricity snapped on his cheeks in anger. "How dare he!"
Taking a deep breath, attempting to shout above the thump of the bass and the noise of the citywide party, the brave leader of the Thunder Rats would cry, "Unhand her, you fiend!" He looked down at the hostage female rat. "Don't worry, Cheetarah! I'll go notify the troops to surround the area and--"
"Fuck off, Lion-O!" It was the first time this evening that the fetishistic spirit's facade of helpless innocence dropped, but she soon reassumed it. "Oh, they come to rescue me!" She clung to him as the song in the background switched.

And that’s when things got weird, along with the rat thing nudging at his shirt among other things he now also had this other rat thing trying to kill him to save the strange horned up rat under his shoulder. Jack sighed and looked down at the one currently in his grasp who had told the other one in a rather profane manner just where he was to go with his ideas of rescue. Before reverting back down to the innocent virgin being kidnapped by the horrible monster act.. The reason Jack had of course asked if she was a virin wasn’t out of some sort of perverted sense of Bestiality but rather because the blood of virgins was a rare ingredient in blood magic. And she might be useful if he drained her completely. But Jack still had to find Iskra. Nod doubt it would be far easier if he simply did something like, go on a massacre. But he doubted tht one would go down well for the whole join forces thing. He gave this one known as Lion-O a glare Arch Demon’s Presence. “ How about this for a deal. You forget about the diea of gathering troops, because if you do, short story I’ll kill them all, long story...I’ll make them all suffer before they die. Now you go ahead and get Iskra for me. And maybe I’ll think about not devouring this one alive. Although I’d be quick, I get very peckish very quickly”.

Lion-O met the demon's gaze for a tense moment, petrified and growling, but resisting the effects of his eyes. It took him several moments, but his defiance finally overcame it. "You don't scare me!" [Average aegis] he shouted down at the devil shouting up at him.
"Devour me alive? Oh~" The rat spread her legs, imagining what his vile tongue would feel like. "Perish the thought!"
The ascended thunder rat frowned, then hopped off of the strung-up banner, using his stick to break his fall before his feet met the ground. He pointed his stick forward, his eyes narrowed in anger and his tail thrashing about, electricity snapping at the end and flashing like lightning lighting the dark scene. "I see that you have used foul witchcraft on one of our own. Charming her and holding her hostage was not necessary, devil. If it was an audience with the leadership you sought, you had only to ask." He tilted his head to indicate the crowd. "This is a night of celebration for us, and you have cast a black cloud over it. If you didn't belong to the goddess, I would not forgive you."
He lifted his stick, planting it next to him in a gesture of non-aggression. "We must go somewhere quieter to discuss this. Come, devil."
The direction the rat spirit began walking wasn't much different than the direction prescribed by the lustful entity snuggling his elbow. In a short amount of time, they'd be at the "palace", rather, the ruin that Iskra ordinarily inhabited. The rat would step past yet another of his peers, who stood at a primitive turntable swapping vinyl records. He tilted his sunglasses suspiciously towards any company that Lion-O might've had, but otherwise continued as he was.
The rat would continue leading on until they were in a back room on the second floor. It seemed to be some sort of bedroom: a dark place dominated by a large, elaborate bed and bones scattered about the hardwood floors. The light coming in the window didn't illuminate much, but there was a chained woman with white wings in the far corner who might be familiar to Jack. That is, she was the angel Jack had originally kidnapped for Iskra's purposes.
"Quietest place in the city," the rat began in explanation. "Iskra went on some sort of a journey, but while she is gone, I am in charge. What is it that you need, devil?"

Jack had to wonder just what this little Rat Lion-O was going to think when he found out that this little spell was non existent and doubtful that it was going to wear off. Regardless it seemed that whatever was happening he was going to get what he wanted. Jack was brought to a rather dark room, one that he imagined probably had more than one use. The memory of that servant run came back to mind and just what he had said about Iskra doing terrible things to him at night. When Lion-O revealed that Iskra was still on her little quest Jack was oddly aggravated. In this entire time he had been literally to hell and back and yet she was still not here. And there was little this rat creature could do. As confident as he wwas in the forces of Iskra to make the lands move with his demons. He would not march without Iskra. For much like his army, he imagined one without her would be of little use . “ Its not something you can help me with runt”. He said bluntly to the rat creature in front of him. “ I seek to enlist the aid of Iskra in marching against an enemy.....they have something belonging to me, and I need to take it back”. Gritting his teeth, the annoyance now rising that he would have to deal with this little thing over Iskra who he had intended to talk to in the first place. He had to wonder just what she was doing on this little spiritual retreat of hers. Just what was so important that she would take this time away from her city.
Run had mentioned something about a book. Jack had to wonder if this had to do with the visit to the library that she had when he was inside of her. “ As confident as I am in my own powers and those of my army, this thing is extremely important to my research, and must be taken without issue. I would not risk delays in wiping them out. Thus our combined forces would make the task much easier”. Jack grumbled away to himself. “ But if she is not here. Tell me where I can find her...I must speak with her about this, and I doubt that she would be happy if she knew I was calling and she could not answer”.

Lion-O frowned openly at being referred to as a "runt". Indeed, he had been the strongest of his litter. Such an assertion was inaccurate.
Then again, it was a hell demon, and these things were trivial.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know where she is," he continued matter-of-factly. "All I know is that she went west from here. You might be able to track her down, but it's not likely. She left in her hyena form and I don't think she would have stopped at any villages."
As the rodent talked, the chained angel lifted her head.
"She went to Sunnveil."
In that single moment, her green eyes became visible. They were full of more misery and malice than most kamikonjou had it in their nature to hold. And she was unnaturally still in her movements, like an animate statue. After her short message, she resumed the posture she had before she spoke, laying on the floor, her wings outspread.
Lion-O blinked at the woman, surprised, before turning back to Jack. "I didn't know she could speak. I guess that's your answer?"

It was most annoying that this rat seemed to have no idea just where Iskra had gone to. Yet when that voice spoke up, he recognised it. It was the Kami that he had captured and gave to Iskra, and it had ben the pone she had taken as a gift and then stricken off his arm in return. Part of Jck was at this stage tempted to just kill the kami. After all it would only be fair. Iskra had returned his gift with little more than cheek. These darker things were not to b played down easily. Although Jack's intention was to take down Iskra along with it. But still. This felt almost right. The temptation continued, but then Jack realised that if Iskra was to help him in this task. like before he could not directly strike out against her. An annoyance, but one that he was willing to deal with for now. His eyes turned back to Lion-O the thunder rat and then down towards the rat snuggled between his arms. He threw the female one down next to the Kami, and then headed back down the stairs. " I suppose it is".
So he now had a location. Which was once again. An annoyance. Now Jack had to travel to this place. It was no secret that Jack was absolutely terrible at geography. So this Sunnviel wherever it was, was likely to hold his answers in seeking out the Matriarch. However the words of Run spoke to him in that way, if she had gone on this quest seeking some sort of moral compass then perhaps it was better that he go there and interupt such a thing before it got in the way of Jack getting what he wanted. He himself had a flimsy sense of self honour, twisted as it was honour was a facit of Pride. Self Pride. But he could not allow the Matriarch to go ahead and get herself a little shoulder Kami.
Jack headed back in the direction of his camp. He would rest here for the night. And then continue on in the morrow.
