Prologue Recap

A world separate from the one that everyone else naturally exists in is fabricated within the mind of Jin, a young man traumatized by his childhood. Much like the normal world, this one is filled with plants and landscaping, only it is void of the vast population that the current world has. This world specifically supports his various protective personas that live within the young man known as ‘Jin;’ these personas each have their own unique personality and abilities and are able to magically manifest themselves at will to take control of the host body. As such, whichever persona is currently ‘in charge’ of the host body actively interacts with the outside world while the personas who stay suppressed live within the confines of Jin’s world unless mentally connected to the operating persona.

During the time where Jyn is in control of the host body, Battousai resides in peace within the world of Jin’s Mind. The setting for his home would be a simple log cabin within a forest clearing. The scene is painted in surreal tones which consist of exaggerated hues and almost brush like finishes to the plants and terrain. Rays of light would shine down magically into this area; the well manicured clearing would space the dense forest wall from the redwood finished single room cabin. A porch would extend several feet before the front door, elevated from the ground at about thigh height.

Relaxing in this setting and on the front porch, Battousai’s back would be against the outer wall of the cabin with a window behind him to his upper right. His right leg would be cocked up with his right arm resting on his knee in a casual manner. He would be dressed in a black kimono with red trim, his face mask and horns. His snowy white hair would cascade over the straps of his face mask to neck length. His gaze would be diagonally up and outwards towards the top of the forest canopy as he seemed to be in thought to himself.

Suddenly his gaze sharply shifts to his right side. Rays of light seem to combine in one area and shines brightly; as they fade, the pseudo physical form of Jyneil appears as she approaches the cabin to the side, walking about three feet or so until she comes to the edge of the wall and porch junction. Resting her shoulder on the corner of the cabin wall, she leans forwards, her lower half hidden beneath the porch and greets, “hey Battou, whatcha doing?”

Battousai’s gaze lingers on her for a moment longer before he returns to his original posture with his back and head against the wall of the cabin and looking up to the little bit of sky that is visible between the forest canopy and the top of the cabin. Twisting her lip a bit, Jyneil informs the samurai, “it’s not good to ignore people, you know.” Though it was hidden by his mask, Jyneil could tell that the stronger persona was frowning. Knowing that nothing would come from asking what was wrong, she decides to go into a conversation on her own. She lightly pushes away from the edge of the house and brushes her shoulder softly. Her body lifts, floating into the air elevating her as to bring her feet to the wooden planking of the porch. She takes a few steps towards him and stops a few feet away on the opposite side of the front door before turning her back to the wall and sitting down, mirroring his posture and position. Now seated, she looks out towards the forest and there is silence between the two.

Slowly she starts out, “so it looks like things are getting interesting in the outside world…” She looks to Battousai, who doesn’t seem to acknowledge anything before she continues, “even so, it looks like we’ll keep on our endless journey, huh?” With this Battousai blinks in a momentary wince, or eye twitch, that shows annoyance on that topic. Noticing this, Jyneil verbally retreats and speaks, “well, maybe that’s not a good topic.” Speaking in a low tone, Battousai would finally speak saying, “Jyn wastes time too freely on his hunt for the assailants of the past.” His posture shifts slightly as his leg lowers and he crosses them before him. His body leans forwards in the crisscross sitting position with his forearms resting just below his knees as he continues to speak while looking downwards towards the ground in front of the cabin, “I thought that the search would go faster without Dravec, which is why we left the first time. Now I see it was his master and not he who had held us back. Now that his master is out of the way, we will be able to move more freely.”

Jyneil rests her cheek against her right palm as she sat in a position similar to Battousai’s while listening to him. For the moment she doesn’t say anything and he continues, “if all goes according to our plan, hopefully we can bring an end to this foolishness. There should be more to a life than…” With that, his voice trails off and he is silent for a moment saying no more. Instead he recomposes himself, thinking that he had said too much. With a short smile, Jyneil picks up, “I’m sure if it’s you, you’ll be able to bring an end to this. Personally I think Jin is way too obsessed with this man hunt; there’s no guarantee that the people we’re looking for are even still alive.” She leans up and sighs, rubbing her arm and looking to the side opposite Battousai as she speaks, “he hasn’t been the same for a while… hopefully this will help him…” With that, quite returns to the two and they both sit and look out into the forest.

From a distance a figure keeps his presence cloaked from the two. The unnamed entity rests with his back to a tree within this forest having heard everything that had transpired. With that, his back presses off of the tree and he begins to walk away from the cabin scene.
